~ OBLIVIOUS PINING ~ PROMPTS about denial of feelings
Tumblr media
requested by: anonymous request: how can i resolve very heavy denial of feelings? it doesn’t feel organic to just have a “oh crap, i like them” moment for this specific character
Feel free to use and reblog!
changing their behaviour towards the other person before they realise their own feelings
doing something nice for the other impulsively
growing softer in their attitude towards the other
finding themselves daydreaming about the other
being annoyed by how much the other occupies their thoughts/their daily life
realising certain single traits of the other they like/adore
being in the other's debt, so they can't hate them so much anymore, they 'have to' like them at least a little
getting flustered when the other is nice to them
realising they're feeling much better when they know that the other is happy
enjoying making the other smile
^ and being worried afterwards about these new strange sensations towards the other's happiness
*eye-rolling* "Well, I guess I can do that for you."
feeling bad when they're treating the other shitty
feeling bad when they're ignoring the other
telling themselves that they can be nice without that having to mean they like the other (that's totally normal, right? to give someone a gift and it doesn't mean anything)
A talking to C about B: "Yes, we're getting along better now. But I mean, it's normal, right? To do nice things, even though you weren't on good terms just a week ago. People change. Relationships change. But that doesn't mean we like each other, alright?"
spending hours wondering who the other actually is and what they mean to them
"Nothing has changed." *when in fact, everything has changed*
"It has always been like this." *when in fact, they're losing their mind about not seeing sooner how it has actually been*
"Come on, it can't come as a big surprise to you." *when in fact, it's the biggest surprise to themselves*

dead end. there's nowhere left to run; the sender has cornered you at last. anonymous. disguising your voice, you call the sender to threaten/warn them. loose ends. you thought you killed them! but there's the sender, walking your way. ashtray. your cigarette smokes as you extinguish it on the sender's skin. deck. you lick the sender's blood from your knuckles, still stinging from the punch. backstab. end of the road, pal—you reveal you're double-crossing the sender. blunt. hidden in the shadows, you press your gun to the sender's back.
heel. you stare at the sender from across the room and beckon them to you. fix. not looking like that—disapproving, you fix the sender's appearance. tilt. you take the sender's chin in your hand and make them meet your gaze. staccato. irritated, the sender drums their fingers against you beneath the table. listen. the sender disobeys and you swat their curious hand away. fasten. just something i picked up—you clasp a necklace/tie/etc. on the sender. quiet. you press a finger to the sender's lips and tell them to be patient.
vomit. you can't handle this; you vomit as the sender groans about leaving evidence. wink. don't worry—you wink as you assure the sender you have no morals to offend. up front. the sender's job is a doozy; you demand half the payment now or you walk. hush. talk is cheap but you sure aren't. you accept the hush money from the sender. crossfire. you realize the sender asking you to put out a hit is your next target. gulp. hard to argue with a bullet; you agree to the sender's demands. jugular. you hold your breath as the sender uses you to demonstrate how the murder weapon was used to strangle the victim.

gutter. the trail of blood ends and you find the sender broken on the ground. speak up. you press the knife in deeper as the sender swears they didn't betray you. plaster. it's not pretty but it'll do; you wince as the sender patches your wounds. empty. you laugh at the sender as you throw your gun aside, finally out of bullets. rat. the sender falls to their knees and agrees to tell you everything they know. smother. you clasp a hand over the sender's mouth to keep from being heard. cut our losses. the sender won't make it; you leave them to die.
voyeur. you know the sender's watching; you open the blinds so they can watch. slip of the tongue. the sender whispers another's name against your skin. sign here. the sender traces a finger over [your choice], asking you to leave a mark. desk. your most enticing assignment yet: the sender bent over your desk. handcuffs. the sender dangles the key, teasing, but you hope they take their time. window. you press the sender against the glass, watching the city watching them. harsh light. what's worse? the hangover or that you can't recall the sender's name.

Idk if you’ve done this yet but ways to describe a dark/scary motel/house? Something straight out of a paranormal horror story to be precise.
Thank you!! 🫶🏼
I love love love horror. If you ever want more horror prompts please let me know :)
Descriptions of Haunted Locations
-> feel free to edit and adjust pronouns as you see fit.
The doors of the motel were identical, nothing differentiating them besides the rusted numbers. They were dirty, as if they had never been cleaned, and the paint had been chipped off over time. Some of the doors looked like they were covered in claw marks-- fingernails digging into the old paint in chilling, desperate lines.
The house was old. It looked like it hadn't been cared for in decades. The grass in the yard was up to her knees and ivy leaves grew on the exteriors of the house and rooted in the gutters. The windows were boarded up, making it look abandoned. The only way to glimpse the inside of the house was through the attic window.
The entry way was filled with dust. It lingered in the air and on every surface. He glanced up at the antique chandelier hanging high overhead, seeing the dirt and grime that dirtied the glass crystals. He tried the light switch, flicking it up and down but to no avail. When he turned on his phone's flashlight, and shone it through the dusty air, a shadow passed in front of him, darting through the entry way and up the stairs.
The motel room was small, the bed made with a comforter that looked like it came from their great-grandmother's house. It was a dirty floral pattern, with yellow pillows that were probably once white. The carpet was stained. Either with blood or dark red wine, they weren't sure. And the window that looked out onto the walkway was covered in fingerprints.
Taxidermy. The lobby of the motel was filled with horrible dead animals mounted to walls and displayed in the corners. She was near certain that their eyes would move. As she checked in, the taxidermy squirrel that sat on the desk stared at her with it's teeth bared.

32 for the settings prompt for sico pls
Setting prompts (32. a quiet hospital room)
You get sico in the context of problematic sebcedes polyamory:
Sebastian arrives at Lewis’s bedside with a giant, unruly basket of wildflowers that look as though they were plucked directly from a field somewhere in the middle of nowhere. He also brought Roscoe, Nico reflects. Point Sebastian.
Lewis is still unconscious, snoring softly in the hospital bed with a dozen pins surgically inserted up the length of his arm because he foolishly shattered it surfing with one of the handful of friends Nico and Lewis don’t share. Miles, or Milo, or something like that. Nico met him once, and then forgot about it.
“I came as soon as I could,” says Sebastian, cramming the basket of flowers onto Lewis’s beside table. “How is he?”
Nico exhales a short breath and scrapes back the hair that’s fallen in his eyes. He’s the one that Miles called when Lewis broke his arm, and he’s the one that held Lewis’s hand while the surgeons administered the anesthetic, and he’s the one that ran across the street in the rain to buy a plant-based latte for Lewis to drink when he wakes up. Sebastian just waltzed inside with a basket of weeds and Lewis’s dog, like he has just as much right to be here.
“Fine,” says Nico, controlling himself. “His wrist is broken and so is the radial bone, in two places, and his shoulder was dislocated. Surfing accident.”
“My God,” says Sebastian. He stoops down to scoop Roscoe off of the floor, and seats himself in the chair next to Nico, Roscoe on his lap. Roscoe whuffles pitiably until Nico gives him a pat on the head. “That’s a lot of broken bones.”
Nico refuses to roll his eyes. He won’t do it. Instead, he reaches for Lewis’s limp hand atop the blankets and rubs soothing circles with his thumb. He thinks he can see Lewis’s eyelids fluttering, but he might be imagining it. It’s almost hard to look at him, prone and unresponsive beneath the white sheets, a tube stuck in his arm. Nico wishes it was him that was with Lewis when he broke it, and then swallows the thought like a poison capsule. He holds onto Lewis’s hand a little bit tighter and shoots a baleful glance at Sebastian, who is absently rubbing Roscoe’s ears.
“Has he been awake since the surgery?” Sebastian asks.
“No,” says Nico. The latte he bought for Lewis is still sitting on the table, untouched and growing cold. Admittedly, the mess of flowers adds a splash of much needed cheer to the desolate hospital room. Nico had flashed his credit card and demanded the most spacious suite, but a hospital is still a hospital.
“You don’t want to talk to me, do you,” says Sebastian, sighing.
“What gave you that impression?” Nico says.
In the bed, Lewis’s brow furrows.
Sebastian pauses his fondling of Roscoe’s wrinkly head. “You don’t think I should be included in Lewis’s life. You think that because you were here first, you matter more. Guess what? That’s not how it fucking works for regular fucking polyamorous people.” Sebastian finishes his tirade with a neat little quirk of his eyebrow, like he’ll have any luck convincing Nico of anything at all.
Nico opens his mouth to explain how exactly Seb has presumed wrong when Lewis groans softly from the bed, shifting beneath the sheets. His eyes crack open in increments, and both Nico and Sebastian leap from their seats to meet him halfway.
Lewis blinks and yawns sluggishly. He looks at his arm first, encased in plaster, and frowns. Then he looks up at Nico and Seb, and a slow smile spreads across his jaw.
“I was surfing,” says Lewis, a toneless rasp. He coughs, and Nico lunges for the lukewarm latte and helps Lewis raise it to his lips for a sip. “And then…” Lewis trails off, licking his lips. “Where’s Miles?”
Nico scowls.
“I can call him,” Seb says, immediately. Rude, Nico thinks. He doesn’t let it show on his face. He’ll play nice with Sebastian, at least while Lewis is lucid.
Eventually, after more stupid, inane small talk, Sebastian leaves the room with a promise to let Miles know that Lewis is okay. Nico collapses into his chair as soon as he’s gone. Lewis gestures weakly at Roscoe, curled up next to Nico’s feet, drooling slimy saliva onto the tile floor, so Nico scoops him up and deposits him gingerly on Lewis’s lap, where he won’t disturb Lewis’s cast.
“You’re not very good at hiding how you’re feeling,” Lewis remarks, scratching Roscoe between the ears. Nico tries his best not to frown. “You should be nicer to him, even when I’m not around.”
“How do you know I’m not nice when you’re not around?” says Nico, reaching for Lewis’s hand again.
“Because I know you,” says Lewis, smiling.

005 brocedes!!!!! Mile high club please!!!!!
Toto wants them to get along. Show a 'united front' when they land in Malaysia. Which means Nico is now flying in Lewis' jet, legs crossed and reading the third international newspaper. Lewis puts his headphones in, trying to ignore his presence, thinking bitterly there's no way Monaco has enough news to warrant a daily newspaper.
Lewis' jet is his homeground, so when Toto suggested they fly together, let the team snap a few pictures and caption it 'working hard together💪' Lewis had to roll his eyes.
"And invite half the grid and make a YouTube video on it?" Lewis had snapped in Nico's general direction, who'd been cozying up with the Redbulls and Jensen and Coulthard and any washed up driver/commentator that could chip in. The assumed friendliness made Lewis suspicious, who knows what Nico got up to in those flights -- what narratives he was setting.
"Not all of us have World Champion private jet money, yeah?" Nico smiled back acridly.
Bit rich, money talk coming from Nico but before Lewis could say anything, Toto just said, "Boys." in that reprimanding schoolchildren voice that meant his word was final.
Lewis is halfway through Kendrick's album when Nico approaches him. He opts to ignore him, and in one smooth move Nico slides Lewis' empty folding desk, creating space -- to Lewis' surprise -- get on his knees.
"What're you -- there's people, here, man." Lewis doesn't stop Nico's hands from unbuckling him, although glancing back at the closed curtain behind where the air hostesses, and some of the crew are.
"You'll just have to not draw attention. I know that's hard for you." Nico quips, stroking Lewis through his boxers.
Fuck, fuck you. Lewis thinks. He might have said it out loud too. Here's Rosberg playing one of his mind games again, here's Nico on his knees for him. There is a certain thrill, that anyone can walk in — the captains out front, the crew from the back, and they'd be exposed. Airtight NDAs and a few mill to keep it from leaking. Lewis has the foresight to press the 'Do Not Disturb' as he's mesmerised by the silver of Nico's Rolex against his half hard shaft.
"You do this on all your flights? That's how you pay em off?" Lewis slides hand in Nico's shiny blond locks, forever surprised at how soft they are. The platinum blondes he hooks up that have a shade similar are always coarse and rough from the bleach.
"Do you really want to know?" Nico asks, before leaning in closer to take the tip in.
Lewis' grip in Nico's hair tightens. He's right, he doesn't want to know.

Some Writing Prompts- Settings, by me 🫶
I feel like these would serve well as mystery setting prompts to give an eerie, foreboding atmosphere. Feel free to rb if using any :)
A burnt orange coloured sky - dust, debris, smoke, choking, toxic fumes, the flitter of embers like fireflies.
A graffitied bridge overlooking a busy road - a heavy storm, echoing thunder, a never ending stream of water, night is approaching.
A lighthouse- a crooked spiral staircase, air that vaguely tastes of smoke and rain, a discarded pack of matches and a pile of ash
A study, (inferred to be from perhaps around 1900 based on the design) - an oil lamp atop a desk, spilled ink forming blots across an unopened envelope, a gramophone repeatedly playing the same piece of music, a body strewn across a chaise longue, with a damp cloth to the forehead.
An abandoned hospital stairwell - the paint peeling from a mural of fairytale characters, a twilight hue casting looming shadows, an eerie silence, a metallic taste in your mouth, a single crow sits watching on a windowsill.
An abandoned petrol/gas station store - crisp autumn leaves scuttling along the floor, thick dust coating the shelves, the sickening smell of spoiled food, rats scurrying out of the back room.
