When children with terminal illness are on the verge of passing, Thoth will appear to them, and soothe them as they pass, often reading them story books. Once they pass, he hands them to Anubis to guide the little ones

Thoth is a very good singer, but hides it. Feeling his talent is a waste of time

Thoth has a whole list of roasts that he has at the ready to use against foes

Ishtar and Artemis often have archery contests, with plenty of trash talking included

If Jormungandr sees Thor and Loki doing their Middle finger battle he will straight up cancel Ragnarok and try again another day, not wanting to deal with the brothers’ pettiness.

Discordia is a big fan of Death Note, she has a huge collection of merchandise. Also, if anyone pisses her off, she threatens to write their name on the death note (even tho she doesn’t tell them it isn’t real, it’s about the F E A R)

Artemis often practices her archery, ensures he never misses a shot in battle (Although one time she missed and almost hit Achilles, that mans almost had Iliad flashbacks.)

Moth Man tourtures those who he considers deserve it, although he doesn’t discriminate what the crimes are exactly, or the age or gender. But he draws the line at children, feeling there’s no fun in harming them, no satisfaction.

Moth Man is weak to lamps, he just… S T A R E S. One time a victim escaped him by turning on a lamp and shoving it toward him. Needless to say, Moth Man was embarrassed and pissed at the same time

Anubis is gentle with children, protecting them when in danger, feeling they are too innocent to face death’s embrace. He understands what it is like to lose your innocence too early, as he went through that when Set killed his father figure, Osiris.

Anubis actually likes being scratched behind his ears, but never admits it (he feels he has an image to keep up)

Bellona often decorates her weapons during her downtime, etching Intricate designs.

Pele is a huge fan of Moana, often singing “how far I’ll go”, while dancing on lava pits

Kukulkan is deadly, but has a soft spot for children, but he holds distain toward cruel adults, not hesitating to spill their blood. He however, does recognize children who grew up into adults.

Kukulkan is able to perfectly guess the future, and this often makes it hard for anyone to surprise him, as he catches them lacking before they can do anything.

Bastet actually likes to knit, and makes her father and many other heroic gods scarves and the like, although she struggles with not trying to play with the yarn as she does

Isis is a very good cook, and always makes sure Horus eats well before he goes to do battle

Tiamat is very motherly, and surprisingly gentle to small children, especially orphan ones, some of them reminding her of her children she lost.

Cerberus loves it when Persephone gives him pets and scratches, he even rolls on his back so she can give him belly rubs. Although if any mortal catches him in this weak state, he can and will make their death 20xs worse than it would’ve been had they just stumbled to the shore.

My Unpopular Opinion about 'Deities' (mini vent:)

I strongly believe not all "gods" are healthy, infinite, benevolent, selfless, flawless, or all powerful who deserve special treatment just because of a human constructed status.

I treat anyone accordingly upon how they treat me, and you don't get respect unless you respect my space.

...

This is coming from someone who respects Anubis as a 'person' I connected with because he was respectful and mindful, and we just got along.

That being said, I don't believe in worship or even the concept of a "god" but just the status of celebrities.

From the ask box here and in metaphysical groups, I had too many people insisting to me that I should just bow down to them just because they're "gods." If I don't agree with them, a few tried to send these "gods" to smite me because I'm a non-believer.

You believing in a deity doesn't automatically make you better or special than other witches whom might be secular.

It makes me roll my eyes when I hear, "Gods are gods! You don't get to talk about them that way!"

The way I work, I need to get up and personal and not greet them ONLY because they're "gods/goddesses. But as people I just get along with.

I can understand some 'deities' are important in certain cultures that built it in the first place, but I just then see it as that -- culture/religion. Since I don't believe in the concept a 'god/goddess' I don't have to believe in their 'god/goddess', but I can still acknowledge what they got for it as strictly their culture.

I'm glad you adore what you do, and keep doing it if it gives you meaning and happiness. I respect what you're into at a healthy balance, as long as you respect mine. Please, everyone is different.

You wouldn't be any better as a proclaimed, radical Christian tried to shame you for not submitting to the Lord.

(One said she'll send Aphrodite to give me nightmares and sickness, while the other got really upset and threatened me with actual violence to change my mind)

If you are representing your "gods/goddesses" through how you're acting like a derelict -- I'm glad you have so much faith in your 'gods' to protect you, but nothing will shield you from the consequences of being an intolerant, toxic person. I'm sure they'll step aside and let things slip...unless the "god/goddess" is toxic themselves.

Future and past crossroads- Anubis

In a dimension where the worlds of Mass effect and SMITE have crossed, many gods have crossed to the Milky Way and Andromeda, many injured. One of them, Anubis, was battling Set and was on the verge of victory, until he was knocked out from behind by Eset. She dragged the unconscious Jackal god and threw him into a portal…

Commander Shepard, Garrus Vakarian, and Thane Krios headed to the Afterlife Club on Omega. Shepard was curious as to what Aria would even want. They stepped inside only to find her sitting in one corner with two other people at another table. The group approached her.

"Aria?" Shepard asked.

She turned to Shepard, her serious expression never fading, “Shepard, word had spread that you have ‘gods’ in your ranks.”

Shepard took a deep breath, “That is, correct.” Aria then pointed to another club booth not far from her, not saying a word. Shepherd’s eyes followed Aria’s finger point, and landed on an unconscious Anubis. He and his teammates approached the jackal god. Shepard activated his Omni-tool, “Hey Ra,”

Soon a familiar voice appeared from the Omni-tool, “Yes Shepard?”

Shepard continued, “You wouldn’t happen to have a jackal god in your pantheon, would you?”

Ra responded, “As a matter of fact, yes. He’s my half grandson, Anubis. God of the dead. He serves as what you humans would call… A grim reaper.” Shepard looked at the unconscious Anubis.

He soon responded, “Well Aria found him on Omega, we’re bringing my him to the Normandy. Tell Cathrine and Chakwas to have the med bay ready.”

Ra replied, “…. Of course.” Then the transmission ended.

Garrus asked, “So, who’s carrying him back?” Shepard replied, “I’ll take him.” He grabbed Anubis’ arm as Shepard stood. Garrus walked beside Shepard to carry him back. Shepard and Garrus walked out of the club with Thane not far behind. They soon returned to the Normandy and took off.

Garrus placed the unconscious Jackal god on the medbay bed, leaving room for Cathrine and Chakwas. They examined the unconscious body, taking in its injuries. Chakwas pulled up a data pad, looking it over briefly. As the pair examined, Anubis slowly regained consciousness.

Cathrine stated, “He’s waking up Chakwas.” Chakwas looked up from the datapad and saw the Jackal god awaken. She put down her datapad and tended to him.

“Hello Anubis, how are you feeling?” She questioned while checking his vitals.

Anubis answered, “I am alright, just a sharp headache- Wait… This isn’t Egypt.”

Cathrine replied, “No this isn’t, this is the Milky Way Galaxy. This is likely a culture shock for you, but we’re in a far distant future from what you are used to.” As Cathrine spoke, Ra entered the Med bay. The Sun god made eye contact with Cathrine, before turning to face Anubis.

Ra said, “Anubis, what was the last thing you saw?”

Anubis snarled slightly, “Set…” Cathrine grew slightly nervous, but Ra placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Anubis calmed back down

slightly, “How do I return home?” Anubis questioned, trying to remain calm.

Ra responded, “That we still don’t know.” Anubis appeared dismayed at that, his ears drooping. Not long later, Kelly Chambers entered, wanting to meet the new face. Anubis looked up as he heard footsteps and saw Kelly.

Kelly stated, “I hope I’m not interrupting anything?”

Chakwas replied, “No, not at all.” Kelly approached Anubis, He quickly sensed her heart, it was pure and gentle, compassionate and loving.

Kelly introduced, “I’m Kelly Chambers, pleasure to meet you.” She smiled softly at the jackal god.

He was at first speechless, but managed to speak, “I am, Anubis.” He felt his face flush, growing hot, and faint gold blush appeared.

Kelly chuckled lightly, “Nice to meet you Anubis.”

Anubis began to speak again, “It’s nice to meet you as well Kelly Chambers, but I must depart.” Anubis attempted to stand, but immediately stumbled. Cathrine, sensing his discomfort, assisted him in standing. Anubis thanked her profusely, and she helped his gain his footing. Anubis glanced at Kelly before giving one final goodbye and departing. Once Anubis left, the rest of the crew was shocked at his departure.

Chakwas remarked, “Is it me or did he seem more relaxed after he talked to her?” Cathrine nodded in agreement.

Ra stated, “She must have reminded him of his late wife, Anput.”

Garrus asked, “Late wife?” Ra nodded sadly.

He continued, “Anput was killed by Set.”

Kelly commented, “Why would he do that?”

Ra looked at Kelly, “Set is an evil, twisted god, he’ll do anything to get his way, even harming family in the process.” The group in the med bay felt a sadness for the jackal god, especially, Kelly.

She stated, “I’ll go check on him,” She left the med bay in search for Anubis. She found him not long later, leaning against the wall.

He seemed lost in thought. She gently placed a hand on his arm, “I’m sorry about your wife.” Anubis turned to her, he saw the sympathy in her eyes. His face flushed as he lowered his head. “Thank you, for your sympathy Kelly.” Anubis leaned his head on her shoulder. She smiled softly and patted him on the back.

After a few moments, Anubis released Kelly and straightened himself.

She spoke, “Would you like to show you around the Normandy?” Kelly smiled softly at the Jackal god.

Anubis smiled, “Very much so.” In turn, the pair walked away from the hallway and towards a bridge. They passed many rooms filled with supplies for the Normandy.

Once they reached the elevator, Kelly motioned toward it. Anubis went and examined it.

Anubis spoke, “This is interesting, Kelly, what does it do exactly?” Before Kelly could respond, Tiamat approached the pair.

She said, “It’s an elevator, a truly amazing creation. It allows you to go to different levels of the ship. You push the button there to open it.” Tiamat pointed to the open button on the elevator. Anubis nodded and pressed it. Causing the Elevator to open, Kelly and Tiamat gestured for Anubis to go into the elevator. He hesitantly went into the elevator, with Kelly and Tiamat not far behind. As the elevator moved up, Anubis asked, “Who’s the captain of this vessel?”

Tiamat replied, “The captain is Commander Shepard.” Anubis nodded. After a few minutes, the elevator opened to the command deck. Anubis walked out and gaped at the sight. It was indeed a culture shock, everything here was so futuristic, nothing like the ancient and sandy Egypt. Kelly took note of Anubis’s shock.

Kelly explained, “This is our main bridge, the research and tech labs, the armory, and the communications and war room.” At that, both Anubis and Tiamat gazed upon the room, which was full of technology unlike any other.

Tiamat commented, “It really is fascinating isn't it?”

Anubis replied, “Indeed, I can see why humans find these objects beautiful.” Kelly then stepped forward.

She told Anubis, “Come, let's continue our tour. I still have a lot to show you.” Anubis followed Kelly, while Tiamat went to find Miranda. Kelly led Anubis to the elevator again and they went down this time. There, they saw the Crew quarters and lounge.

The two walked past the lounge and went into the mess hall. As they entered, Jack and Garrus looked up from their meal.

Jack asked Garrus, “That the new God around here?”

Garrus replied, “Yep.” Jack and Garrus then started talking. Meanwhile, Kelly noticed that Anubis was looking at the food on the counter.

Kelly asked, “Have you eaten dinner yet?”

Anubis replied, “I’m afraid I haven’t yet.” Kelly smiled and took his hand and led him to a table in the mess hall. They sat down, Anubis looked around and saw Kaiden and Gracie across the room eating together, as well as Somara and Liara to the left. As he looked at his surroundings, the meal arrived, chicken noodle soup and beef stew.

Kelly commented, “The meal’s here Anubis.”

He looked up at Kelly, who was smiling and laughing. Anubis felt a blush begin to form, and he looked away from Kelly, unable to handle such affectionate looks. He chose to focus on his beef stew, while Kelly ate her chicken noodle soup. Anubis couldn’t help but laugh as he watched Kelly slurp her noodles. His laughter causing Kelly to blush. Soon the pair were both blushing, which caused them to break off eye contact. Anubis looked down at the ground, and Kelly sighed and looked at her half empty soup bowl. Kelly set her spoon down.

After several moments silence, Anubis looked over at Kelly. Kelly noticed Anubis staring at her. She looked away, and muttered something under her breath. Anubis looked over at Kelly with confusion.

Anubis asked, “What was that?” Kelly looked at Anubis sheepishly. She stammered as she tried to explain herself. Eventually she settled on, “Uh..”

Kelly began, “Well.. Um...I uh... I kinda just blurted out that..you look cute when you blush..like… you did… just now…” Her face was completely flush, with bright red blush. Anubis was surprised, his face flushed as well, gold blush appeared on his muzzle. He didn’t know how to reply. Instead, he focused on his own food, his appetite returning.

Kelly quietly muttered, “Sorry! Sorry… I shouldn’t have said that.” She grabbed her spoon once more, trying to avoid any further embarrassment.

Anubis spoke up, “Don’t worry, no harm done.” Kelly glanced at Anubis, calming down, grateful to know she didn’t make him mad. She smiled brightly at Anubis, she did wonder however, what was it about her that reminded him of his late wife?

Kelly finished her dinner and Anubis finished his stew. A loud alarm sounded throughout the entire ship, shocking everyone.

Everyone stared at one another as the crew began to gather on the bridge.

EDI’s voice came over the intercom, “All hands, emergency, emergency. All hands… all hands.. all hands. There are collectors on the ship.”

Garrus responded, “Collectors? How did we not notice that earlier?”

Anubis questioned, “How are they collecting exactly?”

Anubis noticed Kelly shiver slightly at the mention of Collectors. Anubis wondered if perhaps, Kelly had seen Collectors before. But he quickly shook those thoughts away. Kelly was a doctor, and she worked on ships, she wouldn’t necessarily be aware of Collector’s behavior.

Kaidan spoke up, “They might have followed us from when we saved Legion. But I got a score to settle with them.” Kaidan had already begun heading towards the bridge. Shepard went after Kaiden quickly. The rest of the crew followed suit, Kelly and Anubis followed closely behind them. On the way, Kelly kept glancing at Anubis , but never said anything. Upon arriving in the bridge, the whole crew had gathered,

When everyone had gathered, Shepard stood in front of the group. He began, “Alright everyone, listen up! The Collectors found us earlier than expected . We need to get ready for an attack. Let’s split into groups. Everyone will have to go through the weapons. Garrus, get your squad together and meet me at the armory.”

Everyone hurriedly went to assemble themselves. Once everyone was ready and assembled on the bridge, they began to discuss their plan. After discussing the battle plan, the commander ordered,

“Alright people, I want you all to stick to this pattern. Remember; we can’t let them grab any of the hands of the ship. We can defend ourselves, they can’t. Got it?!” Everyone agreed, And went to their tasks. Anubis approached Shepard.

He asked, “Shepard, I must ask, what is a collector?”

He replied, “A collector is a creation of the reapers, they capture and ‘collect’ humans, for what, we’re not sure yet.” Anubis looked back at Kelly , whose face displayed fear.

Anubis stated, “There’s something about the collectors that scares Kelly, do you know what that is?”

Shepard replied, “Not sure, but I do know she used to serve on the SSV Aesop a year ago. But the ship had an accident, and Kelly was the only one on the ship when it was found.” Anubis nodded, he understood the situation, since he’d lost his adopted father.

Before anything else could be discussed, they heard a thud coming from the cargo bay.

Immediately the trio turned to the door. The door then slowly opened, revealing a very large Collector standing there. Anubis stood in front of Kelly. When the Collector spotted him, its body pulsated. In the blink of an eye the Collector was upon him. Anubis dodged the attacks, then countered by grabbing onto the Collector and slamming it into the nearest bulkhead. The Collector struggled in response, trying to push Anubis away, but Anubis didn’t let up, soon trapping it, wrapping it tightly with hovering bandaging until it was fully mummified. Causing the collector to no longer be a threat. Shepard was in shock by what he had seen.

Anubis turned to Kelly asked, “Are you alright?” Kelly nodded in response.

Soon Shepard received a call on his Omni-tool, “Hey, Jefe, where are the other collectors? I’m ready for a fight!”

Shepard replied, “It looks like Anubis took down this group’s leader, James. There’s not going to be a fight after all.”

Liara spoke up on the Omni-tool, “I don't understand Commander, why would he take down a Collector alone?”

Kelly answered, “He…He… protected me….” A faint blush appeared as her face flushed.

Shepard spoke up, “That's right Kelly. He protected you. It doesn't matter why, what matters is that he did.” He turned to Anubis.

Anubis stated, “She had helped me, she had a good heart, I could not allow that collector to get near her.” Kelly looked up at Anubis, blushed again and replied,

“Thank you Anubis, for protecting me.”

Anubis replied, “No need to thank me.”

Shepard interrupted, “Alright, Joker, get us out of here before the Collectors-“ Soon a loud noise happened.

On the Omni-Tool Miranda stated, “You had to wish for a fight, didn’t you James?”

Shepard quickly stated, “Ra, Tiamat, Anubis, make sure those collectors stay off the ship.” Anubis nodded and joined the other two gods on the other side of the ship.

Joker was panicked, he couldn’t believe that this was happening.

EDI spoke, “Mr. Moreau, I will need complete control in order to help the crew.” Joker gritted his teeth.

He stated, “Are you kidding me?!”

EDI replied, “I fear I am not. Go down to the-“

Joker sighed, “I know where to go.” Joker headed for the control room, he was grateful that Ra, Tiamat, and Anubis were here, he didn’t want to think of what would happen if they weren’t there. He soon made it to the control room and finds the A.I core, and reset the ship’s core, freeing EDI’s restraints. In turn he got out of the control room and back to the pilot’s seat.

EDI came on the comm, “Shepard, I have an idea to help us escape the collectors,”

Shepard replied, “Fire away, I’m open to ideas.”

EDI replied, “Attention Normandy crew, you must reach the crew’s quarters and lock the doors, I am going to open the air lock to remove the collectors.” The crew rushed quickly to the crew’s quarters, locking the door behind them. With the no longer blocking them, the collectors pilled into the Normandy. Shepard and Joker locked the cockpit, Kelly along with them. Then the airlock opened, yanking all the collectors out of the ship, with the creatures screeching as they were pulled out. Once the collectors were gone, EDI closed the air lock.

She stated, “Mr. Moreau, please choose where we will light speed jump to.” Joker looked at the map, and selected the Citadel. Causing the Normandy to jump quickly. Once they stopped near the Citadel, an intense relief was felt among the crew. They opened the door of the quarters and came out.

Kelly quickly stepped forward and embraced Anubis. Anubis hugged her in return. She then stepped back and observed the rest of the crew who were coming out of the doors.

Kelly commented, “I’m glad everyone is alright.” Anubis nodded in agreement at Kelly’s comment.

However, he said, “I am especially glad you are okay as well.” Kelly blushed once more, her face becoming hotter, but she rested her head on the jackal god’s side. Anubis’ gaze softened at Kelly’s actions, he placed his hand gently on top of her head, stroking her hair softly with his clawed fingertips. Anubis wasn’t sure how he ended up here, but at this moment, he was alright with it all.

I am not a reconstructionist. I take my religion seriously, but I take my cue from the gods, not internet randos or even tradition 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've have never had an issue when approaching the gods without having washed my hands or face (and I generally forget, even when I did decide to incorporate it into my practice) or such like that. I do follow guidelines for core things, like not offering blood, etc. But I play pretty fast and loose with the rules, so you've have come to the wrong place if you are looking for a resource on reconstructionism. If you harass me about not adhering strictly to tradition and ritual structure, I will block you.

I worship the gods, not work with them. I am not a witch at all! I occasionally do divination (which is not witchcraft) but that is it!

Some Personal Views:

Fuck terfs! The gods love trans people!

Fuck nazis, fuck white nationalists, fuck folkists! Hatred has no place in this community.

Fuck mythic literalism. Please pick up a book and stop lying about Persephone and Aphrodite hating each other. The Theoi don't have irl beef, you can worship any of them with each other—they are a *family.* Additionally, gods were often worshipped together *because* of their beef in the mythos. Persephone and Aphrodite, Athena and Poseidon, Athena was given Pallas' name as an epithet even though she killed her (though they were admittedly friends/adoptive sisters)

The gods aren't going to smite you. This is mainly from a hellenic perspective because I'm am most educated about it. If you don't give an offering in a long time or something similar, you don't have to grovel and beg for forgiveness or offer an extravagant gift. Just give them an offering, talk to em/them, and don't worry about it. Kharis can always be reestablished. An exception to this would maybe be if you broke an oath to a god. THEN asking for forgiveness and giving a nice offering would be appropriate. But they won't kill you or anything. People've who've have done this have mentioned that the blessings gifted to them by the gods were simply revoked, maybe added some additional misfortune. Which is pretty easily rectified, from what I understand. You can make amends. The gods are deeply accepting, understanding, and forgiving. They are not human. We don't live in a myth, and you do not need to fear any real harm from them (*especially* physical)

Related to the above, you cannot offend the gods on accident. If you learn later that you did something that they would rather you not do (in relation to your interactions with them), that's okay! You can do better now, the gods won't hold it against you if you didn't know ^-^ Now if you INTENTIONALLY try to piss them off, disrespect them to spite them in a fit of anger, then it is apology time.

Finally, no DNI. Just don't be an asshole and we're golden.

I find it adorable that there's a possibility that Nitocris' Medjed familiars are the brothers she had. That's why they're all helpful and adoring to her. Thinking about this and seeing her Alter self really is just kinda a bittersweet thing.(Like chocolate!) Having her brothers be the Smite God is such a layered thing too. The fact even in death she still sees them like the gods, all pharaohs should be honoured as. In death they're all of their body and soul in protecting and honouring her. Them protecting her identity as she becomes an avatar of Anubis. She really is a pharaoh for how she honours and is honoured by others.

Probably years ago at this point I got a fic idea with the premise: what if Nina was dead the whole time? Not in the stupid conspiracy theory depressing kind of way where it's a theory that makes the whole original work be a dark stupid twisted thing.

But like in the, something bad happened to her before she could arrive at the school kind of way, and Osiris and Anubis were like oh fuck we kind of need our chosen one to be alive, and go there, so they do an approximation of bring her back, and then send her to school where Nina then has do the plot as normal, while hiding the fact that she's dead.

For a long time I was thinking of something along the lines of her being like a guardian angel or something, and out of the corner of your eyes sometimes you could almost see the wings, and coming up with scenarios that would force a reveal or something.

Then I remember that in addition to being the god of death, Anubis is the god of mummification. And mummification is supposed to preserve the bodies for life after death. Also Osiris became the lord of the underworld after dying an being mummified. So then the idea changed to, what if Nina got mummified instead of angelfied.

And then they place an illusion spell on her so she looks like a normal living person, but still sometimes out of the corner of your eye you see bandages. And like mummies were given food, so she can still eat, which would help with the trying to convince everyone that she's alive. Sure she feels a little cold and scratchy to the touch, but Amber will probably just give her a bunch of lotion for that.

She is not really sure what the gods want to her to to, but she is glad to be not dead dead, you know? And like in canon, Patricia is convinced that Nina is hiding something, only this time she's not exactly wrong about that. But (aside from maybe Alfie), who would guess that she's an undead mummy?

Nina is trying very hard to pretend to be alive. But I feel like having her brains pulled out through her nose would not improve her lying skills any. To be fair, if she can still eat without a stomach, her mental facilities are probably just as good (or bad) as they were when she was alive, and her brain was fully intact.

And maybe Nina has to bring her canopic jars with her to the house. And has to figure out how to hide them. "Why do have this canopic jar with a relatively fresh spleen in it?" "To be fair it is mine." "Your jar or your spleen?" "Yes"

And maybe some hunter of the undead, obsesed with the natural order of things shows up to smite her or something, and she gets to be like "I didn't choose this, but if you have a problem with my existence, I can refer you to the people who did this to me. Osiris god of the underworld, and Anubis god of the dead, and I figure if anyone cares about the natural order of things, it would be those two."
