God same about Jensen!
He clearly had some insight into Dean that came out intermittently I just thought it was Instincts he had because he'd internalised Dean so much but didn't actually understand what he was saying, stuck in ol' "oh haha Dean is a stupid repressed child who only likes guns" mindset
Turns out WE'RE the fools and Jensen's been playing us ALL
when do you think he took up plans to take over SPN himself? I honestly think it's when they decided to end SPN at S15 and talks about how they should end the story were going on and they had to send him to KRIPKE of all people
Yeah its wild. I would love for him (with Misha's help) to write a tell all book one day.
I feel like jackles has been a far better actor than we all gave him credit for. He has always been very switched on to fandom, he knew about the warring sides, the hate and the bullshit, and I reckon he was being told for years by his bosses to always keep all sides of fandom happy and to play his damn role at all times (ironically just like how Chuck ordered Dean to play his role - life imitates art too often in this fucking show its almost scary). Hence why he's insights into Dean often came across contradictory and odd. Sometimes he had beautiful accurate insights which make total sense, and other times (usually in j2 panels) he'd regress back to the "haha dean just likes guns and girls like a macho man should".
We will never truly know what went on behind the scenes following the moment j2m announced s15 was the end (unless jackles writes that book) so its hard to truly speculate when jackles decided to take things into his own hands, but I also believe it was around about the time they planned the finale and everyone was kissing jarpiss's asshole and jackles was left in the cold to stare down a shitty death scene he didnt agree with. Going to kripke was prob the final straw for him.
He was gaslit into thinking that ending was okay, and whenever he tried to question it he was told to sit down shut up and do what he was told, all the while watching his manchild tantrum throwing drama queen of a costar get his dick sucked by the entire production team for coughing a few times and puffing out his chest and singing the praises of a finale that pushed the spotlight firmly on him and his cop propaganda show.
So yeah, jackles was done dirty, and so he became That Bitch and started making plans. He had the production company set up only days after the finale aired, turned off his social media and refused to be involved in any spn finale celebratory CW PR (absolute King Shit)
I think he started making calls before they even finished filming. Dean wasnt even cold on the ground before The Winchesters had been dreamed up as a way to bring him back. Jackles rare few post finale SM posts all alluded to Dean returning again. He knew what he was doing.
At the same time he was ghosting the manchild, and planning to move his family to Colorado to get away from him. After SPN finally wrapped in mid 2020, him and Jarpiss went their separate ways. They barely spoke after that. Jackles was setting in motion all his plans to fix everything that he considered a personal afront to him (because he is absolutely deranged and literally possessed by the ghost of Dean Winchester) and those plans certainly involve fixing the ending somehow - in a way that isnt obvious no doubt, because he still has to be careful and at least pretend like he respects the ending and his egotistical douchebag of a costar (though he hasn't been doing a very good job of either tbh!)
Thats all my speculation anyway. Holding out for that tell all book jackles!

Did I miss Misha originally say Cas’s confession was platonic?
I don't think Misha ever said that. For as much as i know he was on the main team with Bobo Berens to actively fight to have the confession happen, so he definitely never thought it was platonic. He's always been quite vocal about how non platonic it was actually, like when in Italy the "I love you" was dubbed with the platonic version of it, "ti voglio bene" (instead of "ti amo", which is the romantic equivalent) he posted a video to criticize that embarrassing decision.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think there's been a moment, right after the first spn conventions after the finale, when the first fan questions about the confession happened and extremely embarrassing replies were given by certain actors (I'm talking about the infamous reply that Jared gave to a fan asking about it), Misha got really upset (not at Jared, i mean, in general, because apparently even after the confession canonically happened IN THE SHOW, they still weren't allowed to talk about it, or about destiel as an actual thing), and so he may have been quite frustrated for a while, not expressing himself quite as strongly ad he did at first.
But I'm seeing the latest few cons that happened, mainly the latest two jibs, and all the amazing jenmish content we got in their panels together, and how slightly easier it's become for them to talk about it... i mean Jensen and Misha wrote a destiel song on the spot a week ago at the jib11, and Jensen said he would love to see the confession being adressed "maybe we will get to see that soon" and I'm being more hopeful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so Misha has been quite more at ease bringing it up again too, like this is another reply he gave last week at jib11:
Tumblr media
The thing about destiel is, I think the people in power never wanted it to happen because they thought they would lose viewers and thus, money, tainting the franchise. I think most of the writers tried to slip it in anyway, through the subtext, and they were always allowed it to a certain extent because it worked, and it placed the show in a certain limbo where destiel was basically Schrodinger's cat. It was there and wasn't at the same time. The confession was fought for and i think the peole who cared about it did whatever they could, but still, they couldn't get a complete win since the ones in charge still refused to let Dean reciprocate. So that must've been extremely frustrating for Misha too, because he's one of the ones that really cared for it, and understood just how meaningful it was to many people, and the power it had, and it might have had if brough to completion.
I think Jensen went on board too, somewhere along the way, and he changed his mind for the better. Like, i still think that to him, Dean is probably straight, but he's been way more open recently (ever since the confession, and probably during season 15 too, since the moment he knew the story was going to lead there) and probably after seeing the impact it had, the fandom's reaction to it and the finale, he probably understood just how much it would mean to so many people. So even though he may definitely have a preference for Dean being straight IF THE NETWORK ALLOWED IT i really don't think he would be against a canonically bi Dean. Not anymore. I think he might actually go for it. For the fans.
And i think he's had talks with Misha about it.
But what i mostly mean when I say "it's become slightly easier for them to talk about it" is they have more room to do it, because either their NDAs are about to expire or Jensen buying the rights to the story gives him more power to disclose things and talk more freely. Please take all these words with a grain of salt because i don't work in the industry and these are just my personal speculations, but i think the main problem and cause of frustration with talking about destiel publicly for any of the actors has always been contractual. The show didn't officially take a position (denying Dean the reciprocation) and so all the public statements and opinions of the actors needed to contractually adhere to the "company line" (which i think may *only partially* explain Jared's infamous rant, as a horrendously clumsy attempt to avoid confirmation of destiel - note that I'm not justifying it).
Of course, the enraging thing is that while Dean's reciprocation is canonically up to discussion and subject to interpretation, Castiel's is not. So Misha has always been one of the few to be freer to talk about that specific moment, because Castiel's journey took a clearer stand.
But even that has been buried or blurred down to "interpretation" very often by others, taking another time a huge step back, to favor the colossal hiding of destiel and not risk a blatant confirmation from the show, officially, on both sides. So if Misha ever said anything about it being platonic (which i don't think he did), he was probably just ranting it out in extreme frustration or reciting it as a company line to survive from the snipers of the CW (just as the rest of the actors).
***
That's how i see it anyway. Sorry i went a little overboard with my reply, and brought up Jensen in the discourse too, but hopefully that answers it! :)

God i love seeing older d*stiel posts coming to my dash, stuff i had liked before i watch the show, just so i can unlike them now after realizing that biggest lie i was told was that the ship went canon. When the only thing that went canon was Cas' already obvious feelings and how Sam&Dean are gonna spend the rest of eternity together in heaven. I don't dislike the ship as much i abhor the collective delusion and self bait that was sold as canon to any outsider.

people will make fun of tjlc for being a conspiracy and then turn around and do the same thing with their show and be 100% convinced that they're right actually and the difference is that the tjlcers were wrong

as someone who has never been in the spn fandom and wasn't even really aware that the fandom was still active in 2020, canon destiel day absolutely WAS about spn. like for spn fans it was about spn for obvious reasons. but as an outsider who'd been on tumblr since i was 13 but hadn't experienced the queerbait firsthand, it was 100% still about destiel and i was completely reeling because it was the last thing i would EVER have expected to happen. and in fucking 2020 of all years

Wondering if the erotic dancer friend who posed with the bacon bikini for Gish is the same person who grabbed a quarter off Misha's nose with her cooch during his and Vicki's wedding party.
Also Misha bringing up the tumbler theory of it being him wearing the bacon.💀 And people doubt he's on here lurking...

Okay so the plot: A man is on a mission to find his father, and his mom is dead. He also happens to be a mechanic. He has a little brother who thinks their dad doesn’t care enough about them. The dad turns out to be a bit of a jerk but also kinda okay. They eventually end up in New York. Santa makes an appearance.
What am I describing? Supernatural or Elf

“We can do this. THIS matters.”
“And that’s why you’re going to kick it in the ass.”
The bigger picture is a lost cause, but you can do the day to day. And deliver a quality episode, and be described in the words of Kim Manners. Season fifteen is a head trip.

So someone transcribed Misha's answer from that last con [X].
Aside from the obvious things that infuriate me about the snippets we've already heard? The other thing that I hate about this is that the bulk of his answer? Is not that bad, really. It doesn't acknowledge some major important points about the story and cast structure of SPN that have nothing to do with wider cultural changes, but overall? It's a fairly diplomatic response about how the culture has changed so much over the time SPN has been airing in regards to how we represent and talk about many issues that things they might not have considered then might have been a lot more realistic if they started ten or fifteen years later. While it doesn't account for SPN simply not being about romance or give the show credit for the efforts it legitimately made in later years? It also doesn't make any false promises or feed into any conspiracy theories.
Unfortunately, that is not the entire answer, because as we know, he leads into it by calling the CW homophobic and crassly implying D/C would have been having explicit sex if not for them. That is not an accident, it is very obviously calculated at this point. If anyone calls him out, he can claim he was "just joking"! He gave a serious answer after it!
Except we are more than a decade into this shit. After having to explain to them that there was no conspiracy and secret script behind 15x18? After having to come out as straight? He knows that there is a loud and belligerent cult of shippers eager to take anything that "proves" what they want to hear and run with it. He can't not know. It is not a surprise that before now, literally the only part of this answer I heard was the lying about the GLAAD award winning CW and his queerbaiting, because that is the part they care about and that is what he is, quite literally, banking on.
