You know, Captain Marvel may have been warned to stay out of politics, but Billy "not threatened by gods" Batson wasn't. I think the little dude would rant about corrupt politicians as Whiz Kid on Whiz Radio and not get punished for it because who's going to tell off a kid? Anything Captain Marvel can't say, Billy will yell into a mic!
Oh for sure!
Billy has opinions and he's going to let people know about them! He was given a microphone and an audience and by the gods he's going to use them! Captain Marvel has to play nice with the local politicians but Billy doesn't! And he has always been more politically aware than most kids his age.
(A certain golden age comic of Billy trying to use Captain Marvel to commit voter fraud because he was too young to vote but was highly invested in local politics comes to mind)
I can see Mr Morris telling him to document evidence and cite his sources when he gets heated just to avoid people suing WHIZ radio for slander and keep up his journalistic intergrity, but the second Billy has the smallest shred of proof, Mr Morris sits back and eagerly listens to Billy tear into whatever corrupt official has caught his eye.

He’s so cute. 🥺
Sterling Morris has offered Billy a job as a radio reporter. Billy is so excited, that he accidentally lets slip the name of Captain Marvel. He then corrects himself by pretending that he was referring to the microphone. ‘Mike’

Understanding Backflow Valves for Sprinkler Systems
Backflow valves for sprinkler systems are an integral part of any irrigation setup. They prevent contaminated water from flowing back into the clean water supply, ensuring that the water you use for irrigation remains safe and clean. Here’s why they are important:
Health and Safety: Backflow valves prevent harmful contaminants like fertilizers and pesticides from entering your drinking water, protecting the health of your family and community.
Regulatory Compliance: Many local and state regulations require the installation of backflow prevention devices to meet health and safety standards.
System Efficiency: Properly installed backflow valves help maintain the efficiency of your sprinkler system, ensuring optimal water distribution and preventing potential damage to your irrigation system.
When choosing a backflow valve for your sprinkler system, consider the following:
Type of Valve: There are different types of backflow preventers, such as pressure vacuum breakers (PVB), double check valves, and reduced pressure zone devices (RPZ). Choose the one that best fits your system's needs.
Size and Compatibility: Ensure the valve matches your sprinkler system's specifications.
Quality and Durability: Opt for valves made from high-quality materials to ensure longevity and reliable performance.

When the Justice league finds out that Captain Marvel is a child, they are NOT happy. He’s able to stay, but the relationship between him and league members is rocky at best. No one is really comfortable with talking to him anymore, and they’re all trying to act parental, which Billy HATES.
The JL still cares, obviously. They care about him a lot. It just hurts to see the real face behind the facade. To be shown that their coworker, someone they look up to, has been leading such a lonely life.
Cue a fanfiction where each chapter is the JL seeing Billy in his element. Helping a magical creature. Doing a whiz broadcast. Getting Constantine to help the JL. Getting Metron to help the JL. Persuading demons in a bar to lay off the JL for a while. Using his Champion status to get his teammates into a galactic embassy.
They’re shocked to see how good he is. How so many magical beings respect him despite his age. How even demons will cower in front of him and Doctor Fate will trust him with a well guarded secret. How Sterling Morris’s emails to the kid sound like they’re from a close drinking buddy rather than an unwilling boss.
It’s like they’re seeing the Captain for the first time again. His charisma, his intellect, his kindness. And they realize that not once has he gone off on them for hovering so much, for worrying so much. Because deep down Billy can’t help but be understanding. He can’t help but try to look at things from several points of view because that’s just the kind of person he is.
Though they don’t like how they got here, the JL is grateful that they got to see Billy in action. And over time, they realize how stupid, how awkward they were being to this kid who really didn’t want to cause them trouble, this was just his job. They remember that this is their friend who listens and loves and cares for them.
And if Billy noticed how the gazes locked on him went from nervous and anxious, to fond and caring, he didn’t say a thing.
The magic users are rolling their eyes because no shit he’s good at his job. Why do you think you haven’t gotten a message from another dimension or intergalactic shenanigan in space to worry about?

Do you think Sterling Morris ever considered adopting Billy?
That's a good question.
I think that Billy often tries to downplay his own situation to Mr. Morris a lot, sometimes by pretending to be his own dad, but that Mr. Morris still has his suspicions and tries to do a lot for Billy because of it. He takes him on little outings and trips so that he can have some childhood fun despite his very adult responsibilities. I also think that if he'd ever known for sure that Billy didn't have a family/anywhere to go, he would offer to take care of him (similar to how Uncle Dudley does in some continuities) but would respect Billy's decision to be independent if that's what he wanted. And that's what makes his relationship with Billy so special--the respect.
Thanks for the ask!

Wip ask game: Billy Batson's Middle School Survival Guide and gold star
I'm curious :p
!! Thank you for sending in the ask! I'm really excited for these two!
Alright, so basically, Billy Batson's Middle School Survival Guide is about Billy going into middle school as a 6th grader, already having been Captain Marvel for the past two years. He's a trusted superhero of the community and a valued member of the Justice League. He had a rough start in his personal life but feels like he has a new balance going on that's given him some peace. He even has a part-time internship at Whiz Radio News & Broadcasting!
Nothing can go wrong, right?
Womp womp, everything can absolutely go wrong! When the mayoral campaigns and election begin in Fawcett, a new face shows themselves to Billy Batson; a suspicious new cousin. Just who are they? Why hasn't Billy ever heard of him? And what exactly is he planning?
This fic idea is inspired by the Power of Shazam comic run, and I absolutely loved that one! I wanted to dig in deeper about Sinclair Batson and make some new lore while attaching some old world-building. The plot surrounds Billy trying to navigate the new criminal underworld threats going on in his city, using his investigative skills taught to him by Sterling Morris and Helen Fidelity, while also trying to maintain the balance between his personal and superhero life without falling apart.
As for Gold Star, that one is a team-up with Booster Gold and Captain Marvel. Just a little idea I had about time travel. I haven't seen these two interact, but I feel like they'd be great together. It deals with a magical artifact letting loose unstable time magic throughout Fawcett City, and while Captain Marvel is more than up to the task of solving this problem, Billy Batson is the one asking for help from an unlikely source.
I also think it's funny how Billy could get a gold star sticker in class for doing a good job and in the fic, he could give Booster Gold a gold star sticker for being a good superhero.
