Thinking of a concept,,, you know how sometimes in the Shazam/Captain Marvel stories they refer to the magic that the wizard gives Billy is called “the power of living lighting?”
Well I was thinking what if,,, possibly, maybe his “adult” form was actually composed of living light.
What does that mean? As for combat, I think it would mean that Marvel/Shazam cannot bleed because his body is not made of blood and organs it’s made of magic lightning.
I drew a quick edit of my Shazam drawing to try and explain this lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also think that if Marvel/Shazam were to take too much damage in his superhero form then his body would “poof” and force him to transform back into Billy. Who is a mortal and can bleed.
I was gonna give each member of the Shazamly a different color for their lightning emblem on their chest. I think this would indicate the color of the “light” that their body is composed of.
Billy’s chest emblem is blue so if you hypothetically chopped off his arm, you would not see blood. You would see blue light. ~✨
PLEASE let me know what you guys think about this lol this idea has been in my mind for a while now I just didn’t know how to articulate it LOL

Billy Batson except he doesn't know he has a secret identity. He thought the Justice League figured it out before they asked him to join, and is mainly just trying to hide the whole homeless thing from the group of adults that would definitely put him into the system in a heartbeat.
The League did not figure anything out. They're getting increasingly concerned about whatever the hell Marvel is and whatever hell he seems to go through in his off hours.

Happy birthday to the Pre-Crisis Captain Marvel!
In Whiz Comics (1940) #47 (cover date October 1943) Fawcett Comics announced a contest for readers to submit their birthdays as a possible birthday for Captain Marvel.
Tumblr media
In the story “Captain Marvel’s Birthday” (writer unknown; drawn by C.C. Beck) the subject of Captain Marvel not having a birthday is raised when Billy is too young to vote for his boss Sterling Morris in an election.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Billy transforms into Captain Marvel so that he can vote, but then it’s pointed out that Captain Marvel doesn’t actually have proof of his citizenship or his age.
Tumblr media
At the end of the story everything has worked out even without Captain Marvel being able to vote for Mr. Morris, but Cap’s still sad about not having a birthday so Mr. Morris throws him a birthday party.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Captain Marvel was still sad that he didn’t have a birthday as a magically-created being, so his fans were invited to offer him theirs.
Tumblr media
The result of this contest was announced in Whiz Comics #52 (cover date March 1944).
Tumblr media
Most of the story “Captain Marvel and his Deathday” (writer unknown; drawn by C.C. Beck) is about Dr. Sivana trying to finally kill Captain Marvel, with Dr. Sivana announcing it as his deathday at the beginning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But at the end of the story Captain Marvel has of course survived and chosen to take the day as his birthday.

I'm still not over how the DCEU fumbled the character of Captain Marvel/ Shazam. I mean, I like the first movie quite a lot, but it really didn't do him justice.
Shazam has one of the coolest concepts in superhero media, an absolutely awesome and unique villain roster, and is literally one of the most powerful heroes within the DC Universe. If done correctly, his fight scenes could be some of the coolest moments in all superhero media.
His relationship dynamics with other charcaters, especially heroes like Superman could be so interesting to explore and Billy Batson is just such a charming character in general.
I really hope he'll someday get a second shot with James Gunn.

The fact that I don't think there's much fanart of Captain Marvel/Shazam and Captain Marvel/Mar-Vell of the Kree is a shame. Both characters honestly deserved better. Shazam deserved not to be sold to DC because DC was petty and accused it of plagiarism, and Mar-Vell didn't deserve to die because Jim Starlin was going through some stuff and needed a punching bag. Can we let these two just share a drink? Or maybe not a drink, since Billy Batson is a kid. Whatever. Let Mar-Vell, Billy Batson and maybe Rick Jones all have a little hangout session. They all deserve it. And as is usual when I remember Jim Starlin killed two characters at two companies within 10 years (Mar-Vell and Jason Todd), I want to write that man a piece of hate mail. Or at least imagine those two characters punching him.Screw you, Jim Starlin.
