OC LORE DUMP: POLLY SUMMERSET

Polly Summerset is a character in my + my friends' shared setting Superverse! She was born on June 20th, 2003 as a human being, without any actual powers (somewhat uncommon, in the setting). She was a fairly normal kid, shy (and autistic), and given access to unrestricted internet access from a young age.

She stopped being a normal kid just after her 13th birthday, when she was on a tour of the FlavorCrest® Drink Factory with her parents. FlavorCrest® is a semi-popular drink brand within Superverse, most well known for their fruit-flavored sodas, though they also make energy drinks and iced teas. During the tour, Polly fell into an open vat of FlavorCrest®'s Peach Tranquility flavored soda. This, paired with her lack of any powers herself, radically changed her on a molecular level.

Now made entirely of the drink, she was widely believed to be dead. She wasn't, though, and the company thought that she could be useful to them. When her parents were alerted, they almost sued, but when they were told that "she" (read: her parents) would be paid to work as FlavorCrest®'s mascot, they decided that that would be the better course of action.

A year later, the controversy around the factory accident was all but forgotten with the launch of FlavorCrest®'s new mascot, Polly Peaches.

Behind the scenes, though, Polly was deeply unhappy with the situation. She never enjoyed being on camera, but was (and is, for the foreseeable future) contractually obligated to be featured in photo shoots and commercials as the company saw fit. Unfortunately, though, the broader public isn't aware that she's an actual person, and not simply a fictional character akin to other popular brand mascots. Years into the gig, she's eventually gotten used to both being on camera, and the unwanted online attention as she is obligated to run branded social media accounts as well.

Eventually, though, her very private room is broken into by @pbjpuppy's character Andi Galexi, a malfunctioning android made by a tech company as a prototype for a mass produced companion product. Andi, however, is violent, lustful, and doesn't listen to anyone but herself. In essence, everything that Polly wishes she had the opportunity to be, foils. Andi allows Polly an escape from the stagnant, crushing loneliness of her fame, and Polly allows Andi a space to allow people in without the threat of a loss of control. Though neither are fully out of the grasp of their parent companies yet, and though it can only exist in secrecy for Polly, they have each other.

Spoilers for the Superman and Lois season two finale...

I actually really like the big reveal about this being its own, entirely new Earth. Yeah, it's a tad confusing, but now they're not tied down. They can bring in their own Supergirl, their own Batman, their own Justice League, their own everything! They can basically build an entirely new Arrow-verse from the ground up, only now it's a Super-verse! LOL I'm actually excited to see where they go with this now.

idk, i wanted to draw Kevin and Junior. thought it was funny that Kev’s new red/white Masked Magician costume was  the opposite of Junior’s green/black Nergal colors. so wallah, when your nether daemon boyfriend (pretty sure boyfriend and not the guy you sold your soul to for powers...right??) gets jealous of your new team uniform lol

Did some portraits for a bunch of Superverse characters because I kinda like how that worked out for my SW ocs. I was going to draw them masked/in their suits as well, but unfortunately IRL stuff came up so I can't push my wrist on arts.

As for the 15 characters, they're a bit of a random assortment, based on which ones had some form of portraits established. Some have a decent amount of thought put into them already (the top five (aka The Unbroken), Liz, Emil, Riley to some extent) whereas others are very much work-in-progress (Harper and Rafael, Adie), and others are barely more than a concept (Lara, Luna, Vulpine). Plus, of these fifteen Mink is the only villain, which says a lot about my ongoing problem of making too many heroes and not enough villains for them to fight, lol.

HI HELLO yes i can! you can also find some stuff on my about page but i honestly really need to update it its pretty old at this point. but all that info still stands its just a bit lacking

my main story is grievance (and its sequel atrophy), following the story of nix, a god living in the realm known as the purpose. among all the other gods living there, he's kind of an outcast, associating himself with more "mortal" things like eating and sleeping and also is.. well he started out as a giant autism allegory but now hes an autism + schizospec + Other allegory LOL. his best friend is vinny, though vinny starts spending more time with this guy named ronnie that nix already has beef with. nix also used to be close with clueless though the two of them have a very strained relationship now. one thing leads to another and he meets a god who takes the form of his shadow named lobotomy. lobotomy convinces him to kill people and it all goes downhill from there. thats kind of a really bad summary of things but an actual summary of the story takes me actual hours to type plus i like to keep a lot of secrets. since i plan to do something with it someday. but its my special baby of a story i love talking about it.

also i should say straight up that nix and aus of him like captain starburst are just me thats who i am irl. its an important part of it all to me so i feel like its good to mention :3

there's also superverse, which is a story/universe that's a collaboration between a bunch of my friends. my main guy in there is captain starburst, who i wrote a whole big infodump about recently that you can find here! so i won't go into too much detail on him. but he is my special little guy. there's also russian roulette, who's starb's weird homoerotic gun-wielding supervillain rival. both of those two were made to be government weapons, but russian roulette was the only one who actually ended up having to fulfill that purpose. they're very hardened and have a lot of things they're working through because of it. and also they were medically experimented on? they've been through a lot. there's also villian, or hocus pocus, who's another hero i have in there who's dad used to be a famous hero and is rich. he's stuck up and a little bit of a bitch but learning to be better and i love his stupid ass.

i have a few more aus of nix (specifically of captain starburst) that are important to me, like overlord starburst. he was supposed to be a villain au of starb, but he's kiiiind of his own thing now? he's the ruler of the world and his main goal is for everyone to be happy all the time and never not be happy. he's fucked up but i like him he's special to me. there's also strudel who was made for a friend's roleplay campaign. i also have a big infodump post about him here!

i have other stories that are more on the backburner, like archangels, which is expectedly about angels. i also have a newer one called creature feature i'm working on! but neither of them are nearly as fleshed out as the other stuff, though they're still very dear to me

if there's anything i kind of glossed over or if you just wanna know about anything specific i'd love to answer any follow up questions or anything! i love talking about all these guys

Their champion stands at the top of the stairs, haloed by the streetlights behind.

They can smell the smoke from their position on the couch. It's him or the city beyond. Perhaps both. He closes the door and descends the stairs. The smell stays the same.

"You look like shit," they tell him as he enters the lamplight. He doesn't normally look this bad after Arson - a black eye is beginning to form along with a myriad of bruises starting at his jaw and going lower.

He winces as he lowers himself onto the seat next to them. "Thanks," he says, voice hoarse with smoke, "I try really hard to keep the moneymaker intact. Good to know that's pulling off."

"Someone get the better of you this time?" They dab the ash off his face, careful to pull him closer.

His breath hisses. "No one gets the better of me."

They press the cloth against one of the bruises. The hiss is cut off. "Seems like that's not true, Jackson."

He sits still, careful. "Someone new. We don't, uh... Normally cross paths."

"I'm guessing you gave them something to remember you by."

His answering smile is bitter. "Oh yeah, Four. You know me."

OC LORE DUMP: Testing Initiative Statistical Machine

The Testing Initiative Statistical Machine, or TISM for short, is an 8ft tall dinosaur-shaped robot from my shared setting Superverse! He's a Supervillain, the co-founder of the underground villain group Scelestic Co., which has been around for quite a long time. The person that TISM had founded the group with is long gone, at this point, and instead he works with his co-founder's son, Damien Michaels (also known as Snake Eyes).

TISM's job at Scelestic is a bit of a grisly one; He takes kidnapped superheros and turns them into various machines or weapons for both person use and to sell to fellow villains.

He doesn't exactly like his job, none of his coworkers really do, mostly because of Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes, having inherited his leadership, took full control of the group-- He's quite the tyrannical leader, having.. "downsized" the company significantly after coming into power. And by downsizing, I mean he killed any people who spoke out against him. Over the course of a few days, Scelestic went from a large and bustling organization to a group of five. One of which being a kidnapped child, intended to be used as a child soldier (who later escaped).

At current, TISM is attempting to wrench control of the group back, though is quite tempted to abandon it entirely -- The group is on its last legs, at this point, and he knows it. He'd rather retire that watch it die off, especially now that he's trying to rekindle his family life, especially now that he has a new son (Teslacoil, an artificially created snake man who was intended to be a lab assistant).

So originally I  didn’t want to delay all the extra art to AFTER the whole event, but at the same time I didn’t want to post them sooner in the event due to spoilers. So this was originally going to be Week 7 but...then I realized that Week 8 was SDCC week, and all the bonuses just fit that so much  better than the event conclusion. And with all the wedding shenanigans going on here, it was too late to swap things, and I couldn’t extend the event so...yeah...

Etzel sank deeper into his scarf and seethed, watching the interview play out from the back of the cafe. His agency had chewed out his ass, unsurprisingly. Only difference this time's that the bad press he brought them had stacked up too high, and now he was on forced leave for a few weeks until he finished his media training.

“Aggressive? Out of control? They make me sound like a monster,” he grumbled, dragging rewind on the video screen. “You seeing this shit?”

He brought the phone up to his companion then pulled it back, barely enough time for them to glance at it. “Sorry about your nose, by the way. Uh, EMT will fix ya up. You probably won’t need surgery if they get here fast enough.”
