Episode Sixty-Four: The Touch of the Fey

The party returned to the library of Limune to find the citizens of the city slowly coming to terms with what had happened. Loremaster Sartoris was casting purify water within the library to a large audience. They were greeted as saviours, and Sartoris explained, that for fey like Solishili and Limune's lost king, the connection to the land was deep and hard to sever. Even thought the elemental Laanthras had claimed his crown, the lost king still held power, and in her absence his influence was beginning to be felt once again. Sartoris mentioned Ezorfiel was a little different; he was Midsummer; sometimes a place but also a time.

Cam asked Sartoris if she could read his book, and he was delighted to give her the copy, and even dedicated and signed it for her. Harmony bid farewell to Phespherine and Daequin, and they party left for Mt Atchelona. They saw no sign of Tidanos, the dragon turtle, and eventually met some of Solishili's scouts, who had brought giant sea horses for them to ride back.

At Mt Atchelon a the reception was a little more restrained, but accompanied by an honour guard, the party was met by Solishili herself, who thanked them, and thanked Hope in particular, giving her a searing kiss on the cheek and a small magical boon.

Then the mountain itself shifted and a huge bird emerged from it, so large it hopped over the palace entirely. Solishili said it was a sun roc and wondered where Ezorfiel had found it. It allowed the party to climb onto its warm, feathery back, and there was more than enough room for them all to stretch out and sleep, although they still kept watch. George saw a dragon in the distance investigate and then fly away, and Hope saw the roc swallow balls of fire that materalised from the ambient magic. Harmony nearly got brained by a silver teapot randomly flying through the sky. Just another night in the Feywild.

The rest of the party was woken by the sound of fireworks, and the roc began to descend. The air felt warm, and the sky brightened, and they knew they were again in Ezorfiel's domain.

Ezorfiel had thrown a party. His palace seemed about five times the size it was when they arrived and many people were camped on the grass around it. He'd invited essentially everyone in his domain, and there were many familiar faces in the crowd.

Ezorfiel himself greeted them as the guests of honour, and close on his heels was Euphoria, his horn mended with gold. He wanted to hear about their adventures, and the party started to fill him in. Harmony complimented him on his horn, and he got a mischievious look. The satyr Crow was stumbling around and Euphora bet his animated flute against Crow's cittern that the satyr couldn't drain his horn. The bet struck, Euphoria removed his horn with a click, revealing it to be a drinking horn. He winked and whispered 'mayonnaise' as he handed it over.

Crow made a credible effort to drink two gallons of mayonnaise, but Harmony distracted him with a cutting word and the resulting eruption was truly spectacular, and gross. He handed over the cittern, too sick to grumble and Euphora managed to play a tune, although because he was unattuned to the instrument it took an effort of will.

Cam was deep in to Satroris's book, but upon hearing splashing she stripped down and bounded off to swim and tell the nixies and nymphs about the story.

Harmony asked Ezofiel about what Sartoris had told him, and the archfey revealed that he hadn't always ruled Thase Tiron, and had originally met Euphoria when he had snuck through to the Feywild from somewhere on the Old Continent. This was news to Euphoria, although he didn't know what to do with this information. Ezorfiel was was quite content to be who he was, and seemed to think dieties had it worse off, although mortals should feel free to worship the ground he walked on.

George wandered off to explore the rest of the party and managed to reunite the furbolg Brynala and her lost companion, and Cam's steamy tale got her listeners all heated up and she left when things started getting spicy. Hope, on the other hand was determined to make Euphoria blush, and succeeded when she suggested Ezorfiel could watch. He probably started off watching, aware of everything that happened in his domain.

When the group reunited to go home, Hope's hair was down and entwined with ivy, and she realised her underclothes were very lovely but totally unfamiliar.

Ezorfiel wished them well and opened a portal. Euphoria accompanied them back right into Lord Thail's garden, an hour after Cam had initiated the travel via plants spell from Badwinter.
