Late to the party, as always, but I was looking through old original posts and remembered that JR’s prequel was canceled on November 5th last year.
So, Happy One-Year-And-Some-Change Anniversary of JR getting his karma from his shitty ending.

It’s funny that all those very different Lexas have one main thing in common - being soft to one particular person. It’s always amazed me in canon Lexa despite being all ruthless, detached and very pragmatic, the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about her is how soft she is 😍
Honestly I give all that up to Alycia and how she portrayed the character.
When you really step away from the ship and being a fan, and just examine the script and scenes for what they were, on paper Lexa could've been, and arguably should've been, a much stiffer, colder character. Much more placid and hard to read, hard to connect with emotionally. But the way Alycia played it with so much emotion and vulnerability, the way she gave Lexa so much depth and humanity and turned her into this fully dimensional person on screen? The catches of breaths and looks of yearning, the smirks and steely eyes, the looks of pain and fear and resignation, the tears and heartbreak and physically being able to watch her strength crumble and rebuild in a blink and grit of her jaw.
That's why Lexa still has our asses in a chokehold all these years later. She was a great character because Alycia brought her to life and I'll die on this hill. In anyone else's hands I think she woulda flopped.
And tbh that's what influences a lot of my own writing when approaching her character because she gave us so much to work with. Idk tho maybe I sound crazy 🤷‍♀️

Y’all ...
Tumblr media
Y’all.
Coolio ("Gangsta's Paradise") suddenly left us this week at the age of 59. He died while in the bathroom of a friend’s house.
Remember when SNL had those fake commercials for the “Toilet Death Ejector” that would catapult you across the room if you died on the toilet so no one would know you died on the toilet?
Except, let's be honest here.
Being violently expelled across a water closet with your pants around your ankles, your dress hiked up, your zipper wide open or even naked as a baby bird is going to leave you wadded up somewhere with pee running down your leg...or worse. I wouldn't want anyone to find me and think I just decided one day to defecate upside down in the laundry basket.
Let my people know I knew where to go before I went.
And have you ever thought about how many famous folks die in the bathroom?
Consider.
Elvis, one of the most recognizable people of the last 10 centuries, left earth whilst in the bathroom at Graceland. Yeah, there’s something a tad poignant about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll dying on the throne. To this day I call my bathroom “The King Room.”
Whitney Houston died in the bathroom. Sadly, so did her only daughter. Jim Morrison too. Judy Garland. Lenny Bruce (who died for our sins) also left this life in a Room of Relief. Even Orville Redenbacher, the popcorn king, popped his last in his bathroom’s heated whirlpool.
Except for Redenbacher, most celebrities on the list who expired in the comfort room had copious drugs in their system.
Heed the warning. Next time you’re as high as giraffe balls, instead of looking for a loo maybe just go ahead and crap your pants right at the table in Red Lobster. Could save your life.
Unless you’re going to the bathroom to actually DO drugs, in which case we can’t stop you, but don’t lock the door.
One last thing. Those people in public bathrooms sitting on the toilet talking so loudly on the phone that you know every bit of their business while trying to do yours?
That's who we need a toilet ejector for.

I get that Charlie's personality is probably inspired by Disney princesses, but i like to think that even her other day-to-day clothes are still some dapper fits that give off more a "Prince Charming" vibe

While it has rarely been mentioned during the revived series,
in the Classic Series, the Inspector frequently gave directions to the loo aboard the BOOTH, so his Associates always had a place to relieve themselves.

every time i see that post chiding trans men for using women's restrooms i want to chew on somebody's head. you think i LIKE using the women's restroom? you think i LIKE having to make a grim hobson's choice of "which bathroom is least likely to get me yelled at" every time i need to pee? i'm fucking flabbergasted that this is seen as "men invading female spaces" or "AFABs flexing their privilege" as opposed to, oh idk, a vulnerable group of people doing their level best to avoid being harassed and assaulted. like we are not the ones in the wrong here
