I am NOT good an drawing animals, I want that to be clear. For the images I’ve done of Haji previously, I used screenshots from the movies and drew over Kiara as a cub. For Tamu here, I used various references and drew over both coloring page linearts as well as screenshots and heavily edited the facials to look accurate. I did her cub version first, and then did her adult version.

I can see her being a female cub who trains with Vitani often, being her gal-pal of sorts like how Kiara has Tiifu and Zuri. She crushes on Nuka, but once he dies trying to impress Zira, she confides in Vitani that she wishes she had told him sooner. When Zira goes to execute her invasion on the Pridelands, Tamu confronts Vitani on the plan in private, asking her the hard question of whether she believed that what they were doing was right. The confrontation ends with Tamu and Vitani disagreeing with one another and Tamu leaving to find Kovu to warn him of what Zira is doing. She eventually meets up with him and Kiara after the pair decided to return, leading them to the ensuing battle. Tamu would prevent Vitani from going after Kiara, allowing for Kovu and Kiara to confront their parents. When Vitani goes against Zira’s wishes, Tamu walks at her side to give her confidence in her actions.

After the pride is reunited and Kovu and Kiara are betrothed, Tamu asists Vitani in the hunting party and likes to sunbathe in the grasses.

Oop, this one has been sitting in my WIPs for a while now... I wanted to redraw all of (actually, one generation) my old and first TLK OCs, which I used to write about. Unfortunately, the story got deleted from my blog :( it was very cringe but I enjoyed it nonetheless

More about the characters below the cut:

*Names are up to change, I made this real quick. The OG names aren't fitting

Amanika (Dark black lioness): Oldest of the bunch and one of the protagonists. She was the daughter of an older friend of the king, who got banned with his mate and cub after he tried against the queen's life, who was pregnant with her first litter at the time. Months go by, she and her brother meet the king's sons hanging in the outlands. More time pass after that, they meet again in the current age of the image. The rest's story.

Safari II* (Yellow lion with green eyes and red feathers): Second oldest and the other protagonist. He's the first born of the king and have a crush on Amanika due to a prophecy. He had been attacked as a small cub so he have lots of scars all around his body. Lions close to him call him "Junior" for short.

Liyongo (Lion with blue eyes with his tongue sticking out): Middle child and younger brother of Amanika. He's very annoying and overprotective. Has born after the exile. Younger than Safari by a few weeks or so.

Huzuni (Cub with green eyes and dark ears): Second born of the king and the queen. Unfortunately, the queen passed away soon after his birth. Safari's his role model, and he can be very attached to the older brother. He was very little when he met Amanika and Liyongo.

Jasmini (Cub with dark brown fur): Youngest sister of Amanika and Liyongo. She used to spend a lot of time with their mom, so she barely made any appearance in the story. Younger than Huzuni and older than the king's twins.

Midra and Tayari (Fat cub with green eyes and grey cub): Twins, litter of the king and his second marriage after the first queen's death. Tayari was born weaker due to a genetic disease. They're the youngest cubs of the pride.

Mrembo (Lion in the background): Older between all of them, it's a rogue who use his appearance to get what he wants from silly lionesses he finds in the way. Tried to seduce Amanika once.

In honor of the absolute stupidity of the Mufasa announcement I've decided to post my headcanons here. I don't think anyone cares and others may find them quite silly, but at least they're not 'Mufasa, born an orphan' stupid so why not. Under a read more so they can be ignored easily.

So I'll start with the big headcanon which is kind of what got me started in the Lion King fandom in the first place. See, I'm kind of blah about The Lion King proper, it's a fine movie but it's just not my favorite. But The Lion King 2 came out when I was in middle school and I went nuts for it.

The problem, of course, is that TLK2 has 1.5-2 major retcons necessary to work. The .5 retcon being that Kiara doesn't really look that much like the cub at the end of TLK which is upgrades to a full point of retcon if you accept the books as canon (which I mostly do) in which case Kopa exists and must be accounted for.

But anyone who knows the TLK2 knows that the biggest problem is that it is kind of implied that the Outlanders were part of the Pridelands Pride when Scar was king and then sided with him in the battle at the end and were therefore banished by Simba when he won. But we've all seen TLK and there were no lionesses fighting alongside the hyenas and against the other lionesses.

So my big headcanon involves making those two very necessary retcons become unnecessary. And I do this by creating a whole other (kind of dark) movie in between. It requires a retcon as well, but one that cannot technically be disproven. The headcanon goes as follows:

Somewhere in the world near-ish the Pridelands there is another lion pride which is led by a lion named Jelari and his mate Zira. Jelari is an OC needed to make this work, I've decided he looks like this:

Their land is being encroached upon by human hunters (which is how Zira ends up with that round hole in her ear) so Jelari, being considerably more of a coward than Zira, decides their pride should find someplace new. So they go.

The debatable retcon comes in here because they meet Scar along the way. The way this works is that while the hyenas did attack Scar, intent on killing him, the fires were rising quickly and they ended up cheezing it before the job was properly done. Scar, wounded and defeated, barely manages to escape with his life. So Jelari's pride comes across Scar and he lies through his teeth about Simba and the Pridelands. Zira is immediately enthralled by him and decides it is time to trade up so she convinces Jelari that they should a) take Scar with them and b)check out the Pridelands.

Initially they camp out in the Outlands but eventually one of the lions (probably Zira because she'd be careful not to mention Scar) meets Simba and gets them all an invitation to more or less live in the Pridelands as long as they follow the laws of the King. So they mostly move in, with Scar staying in the Outlands and Zira taking care of him while scheming.

Jelari is not thrilled with the new setup. Sure, there's food and the land is nice and things are pretty good for them, but he's gone from being the leader of his pride to kind of Simba's subject (their pride is living in the Pridelands but is not fully integrated into Simba's pride). Because he is not clever, he isn't terribly subtle about his unhappiness which gives Zira an opportunity when she murders Kopa and makes it look like he did it. (Narratively this serves 3 purposes - 1)It will remove Jelari from the story when he is punished for his crime, 2)It removes Kopa, and 3)It makes Simba's over-protectiveness in TLK2 a lot less hypocritical and sexist.)

This is the point at which details get a bit fuzzy but other things happen, including the birth of Vitani and Kovu (I figure Nuka was born about the same time as Kopa), and Scar naming Kovu his heir. But eventually Simba figures out Zira is working with Scar and banishes the Outlanders to the Outlands and kills Scar once and for all. Cue TLK2.

Okay, that out of the way let's do some other headcanons.

Mohatu was not Ahadi's father, he was Uru's. Unfortunately the lion royal family has always been a bit sexist so Ahadi was King of Pride Rock and all the importance that holds.

With regards to how Scar got his scar, I tend to ignore both the books and the Lion Guard because my preferred headcanon is that Ahadi gave it to him. The idea being that Ahadi was not a great dad and clearly played favorites so when some brotherly shenanigans put Mufasa in some serious danger Ahadi got mad and struck him (same as Zira strikes Kovu in TLK2 to give him his scar). This was more or less the straw that broke the camel's back for Scar who had already sort of resented Mufasa for being the favorite and definitely resented his father for being terrible. He started by insisting everyone call him Scar (rather than Taka as he was named) because that was the only thing Ahadi had ever given him. And from there he just became more and more bitter and cruel.

I have very complicated feelings about the Lion Guard so my headcanons with regard to it are a bit messy. Probably at least half the lore in TLG is absolute garbage. The way Kion can just dial up Mufasa whenever he stubs his toe is absurd and kind of makes Mufasa seem like a dick. And the idea that Scar murdered his lion guard after they refused to help him overthrow Mufasa but somehow never recieved real punishment for it and was therefore able to kill Mufasa later really makes it seem like Mufasa was both stupid and kind of asking for it. It is the second most ridiculous thing Disney has ever come up with regarding Mufasa's past.

I'm also kind of on the fence about where TLG falls in the timeline. I feel like Kion would have been better served as Kiara and Kovu's kid but I know Disney would never have done that because people watch Lion King things for Simba and he would have been dead or had even less to do in the series. They did an okay job of shoving Kion in without contradicting TLK2 so I'll give them that but Kion would more or less have had to be born at the same time as Kiara and that can't be accounted for no matter what they do. I also feel like Kion being two generations out from the last second born child (or rather son as it is all but asserted) would make more sense for why he's never heard of the Lion Guard. Because whatever did happen to Scar's Lion Guard (and I'm not saying he didn't kill them, just that nobody would know about it), it would have been before Simba was born. So Simba never saw the Lion Guard in action, Kiara never learned about them, and then her son would inherit the roar become the new leader.

The roar is also something I'm on the fence about. Mostly I think it's a bit too fantasy for what is otherwise a fairly grounded story with mild elements of mysticism.

On the other hand, I am a little attatched to the idea of Tiifu and Zuri as Kiara's friends. There's a scene in TLK2, when Kovu has just been banished and Kiara tries to rush after him but two lionesses run up and stop her and I like thinking that those are Tiifu and Zuri. Also I kind of love Vitani's Lion Guard and making Kion Simba's grandson would mean that doesn't happen.

The other headcanon I'm flirting with regarding TLG, which also carries over to a few other places, is that the Pridelands is actually made up of like 5 different prides that live in different areas of the Pridelands. Simba's pride is the main pride which rules over the others but they also have some measure of self governance. These other prides serve two purposes in my mind, the first is just a continuity issue which is that the comics and books introduce all these lions (Malka, Chumvi, Tojo, Mega, Leo) that just cannot be accounted for anywhere in TLK. And then there's the issue of Nala's dad (And Tama and Kula's dads if we try to account for them). So if we have these adjacent prides that are part of the Pridelands but not directly part of Mufasa's pride we can account for them. When I play with this idea I generally imagine that the past Lion Guards would have chosen a lion from each pride to be a member. This would also be where the royal lions found their spouses so Ahadi came from one and Sarabi came from another. Incidentally, it would also explain where all of Sarabi's siblings are since she apparently has like 4 of them. I dunno, I waffle on this idea a lot.

To be more specific, I’m searching for someone to rp in the time and world setting of “The Last Kingdom” (The viking show, you know?). His name is Mlezi, means guardian- He’s a outlander, but he joined Simba’s pride afterwards. He grew up with a sympathy for the circle of life. His family is unknown- but probably related to Strange Lion. Now he’s some king of guardian for Simba. Feel free to ask more things!

Well in my garbage TLK fan story:

Simba's right to the throne is taken away by a challenger named Matusi, and Kiara and a few other lionesses escape before any harm can come to them or their cubs. Kovu loses Kiara while trying to fight the challenger away from the fatally wounded Simba, and spends a lot of the story looking for Kiara and their son, Kesho.

Kesho doesn't understand why his family has to live with the friendly hyena Jasiri's clan, but eventually he gets used to it, hoping to someday gain enough strength to fight off the lion who killed Simba from the pride lands for good.

AAAAAAnd then there's his cousins.

Hazina and Halisi.

Name: Hazina Name meaning: Treasure Age: (??) Cub gender: Female Mother: Vitani Father: (???) Bio: Hazina is a bit of a snob, and doesn't really approve of the hyena life style, so she spends most of her time clinging to her mother's side. She spends a lot of time reminiscing about how things used to be, when she could eat when she wanted, and when she didn't have to sleep on a pile of dirt, but Vitani, who is a bit tomboyish, encourages her to "suck it up buttercup" and toughen up her daughter. When she's not hanging around Vitani, she's tagging along with the other cubs, exploring the outlands. Hazina can be a bit of a trouble maker, and at some point dares some of the other cubs to try and explore the former pride lands without getting caught by any of Hofu's lionesses. This... could prove fatal.

Name: Halisi Name meaning: Genuine Age: (??) pre-adolescent gender: male Mother: Tiifu Father: Nuka Bio: Halisi is a few months older than all the other cubs in the hidden pride. He was conceived before nuka got #rekt died, and Tiifu treasures Halisi as her only remaining family. Her sister Zuri was unable to escape Matusi, and Tiifu has no way of knowing if she is still alive and well. Halisi himself is a bit of a klutz, but what he lacks in grace he makes up for in good spirits. True to the meaning of his name, he seldom tells a lie, and his love, loyalty and support comes from the bottom of his heart. Being the oldest male in the kingless pride, he takes it upon himself to hunt with the hyenas for his family. Kesho and Hazina rough house with Halisi, who tries to be gentle with the cubs as he is a little bigger than them.

There's a lot more I've thought up, so I might as well do a few chapters of fan fiction in my free time, lol. Its fun to goof around with character ideas.
