It's definitely not the worst cover out of the collection (especially compared to the Persephone x Ares one, ew) but it's still got that underlying issue of "Rachel/WT being lazy".

That said, I have seen a lot of the fans comment that "for once" they're thinking of getting the standard version over the B&N version. Which I just think is hilarious because clearly the whole point in offering those variant covers to begin with was to make more money through the "exclusive" versions LOL

Am I the only one who wanted more out of Bayonetta 3. Like, fuck the side chapters and the Jeanne spy segments. I wanted the complete Demon roster from all the Bayonetta games with masquerades to match, give me a Diomedes masquerade thats just a sword unicorn centaur. Give me a Bayonetta or Viola variant that was contracted to Alraune, maybe they went crazy and killed their family. Give me a castle defense Deadly Sin ritual segment between Bayonetta and French Rosa, the clock tower could have become the demonic city Pandemonium and Alraune could have become a queen in a giant Raffelsia palace. Demon Slave is so underutilized maybe make a segment where you have to utilize Alraune's ability to control plants to make paths for progression or segments that are easier with the clock tower's witch time ability. Give me Rodin stopping Bayonetta before the final fight and telling her that he will help her for the final fight and just giving her his weapon and then she summons him along with a Jeanne and Rosa variant who had lived instead of Bayonetta during the witch hunts and they all dance together attacking Singularly at the same time. Give me Alternate Bayonettas with compelling stories, making their deaths all the more tragic. Fuck the heteronomative ending give me Jeanne and Bayonetta hugging after all is said and done and just when you think they aren't going to they kiss and tell each other that after everything they've been through that it will take more than some AI with a God complex to keep them apart. Fuck the prequel, just give us a chapter where Viola is wandering through the Avalon Forest herself with an adult version of the Origins Bayonetta (who could be married to Lukaon) maybe she has to Deadly Sin Cheshire. Give Singularly actual motives and make them a looming threat, instead of just "I'm going to kill all the Bayonettas!" "Why?" "BECAUSE I FUCKING CAN!" Give me a Deadly Sin fight between Kraken (Maybe called Cassiopia) and Queen Butterfly. Give all the demons that she summons a Deadly Sin form or variation. Give me a final summon where all the variants (maybe some are Lumen Sages) come together, rip out their hearts, and summon Hecate as a sort of embodiment of magic and it's ultimately chaotic nature within the trinity. And she just fucking removes Singularly from reality instantly erasing the damage they did, but all the Bayonettas remember what happened and Viola can't return home so she's just adopted by Bayo and Jeanne. Just give us more than a half baked story with no passion in it. Give me emotion and passion, not a story that has some decent concepts and macanics. Basically Bayonetta 3 wasn't worth the $60 it cost and it should have been more than a half baked concept.

She’s supposed to be a variant of Hecate but I chose to merge her with Pasithea. Basically instead of giving Europa Hera’s anointments, Pasithea helps Dionysus one way or another (which is why mortals started to view them as father and daughter when they’re just siblings) which angers Hera, so then Pasithea hides in the underworld and meets Hypnos for the first time and they fall in love.

It’s so weird how the Dionysiaca tells us that Pasithea is Hera AND Dionysus’s daughter, sometimes even in the same book it’s so weird. It’s likely that Nonnus was just working with two different traditions but didn’t bother to be consistent rather than trying to imply that Hera and Dionysus hooked up for some reason.

“From the earliest period Medea is associated with a number of gods. She is the granddaughter of Helios, the sun god, and is linked to Hera and Aphrodite in Korinth (Plutarch, De Herod. malig. 871b). The link to Aphrodite is part of the story of her relationship with Jason, but the link to Hera goes far deeper. Hera’s sphere of influence, including marriage and childbirth, covers many of the same areas as does Medea’s. We noted above that some have argued that Medea herself was originally part of Hera’s manifestations. Medea is also linked to early concepts of divinity expressed as the figures of Demeter/Hekate as mother or earth goddess, and the role of Hekate as moon goddess further links Medea to Artemis. In some variants Aietes receives an oracle which tells him that he will be killed by a foreigner, and he appoints Medea as priestess of Artemis with the task of killing foreigners, a motif we will return to in the next chapter. There is no single pattern for Medea’s place in the divine sphere, and artistic sources in the classical period do not stress her associations with the Olympian gods. The main narratives make Medea a powerful force in her own right. Indeed, Kovacs (1993) has shown how there is a striking lack of divine participation in Euripides’ play, and Medea herself claims to be acting as an agent of Zeus’ justice. As a figure who is never punished for acts which would normally be seen as criminal and/or sacrilegious, Medea seems to exist outside the boundaries of classical Greek religion.

Medea is, however, strongly linked to the figure of Hekate, a goddess who herself occupies an ambiguous position in Greek religion. Hekate appears to have originally been a multifaceted goddess whose darker, negative attributes were given greatest prominence. In the earliest literary reference, Hesiod’s Theogony 404–52, she is praised for her gifts, and called a protectress of the young. Other features associate her with weddings, horsemanship and competitions. Johnston (1999, 205–11) argues that Hekate was originally a goddess in Caria, where she guarded cities, and her sphere of influence became doorways and transitions, extending to a wider cosmic role. Other scholars have linked Hekate to early figures of a mother goddess, or an earth goddess. In classical and later traditions Hekate is associated with mortal crossings, both birth and death, and becomes a darker figure linked to magic and the dead. In Ovid’s Metamorphoses (7. 234 ff.) Medea prays to Hekate and ‘Youth’ to release spirits of the dead. The internal story of Hekate within Greek mythology develops to associate her with the older, chthonic, deities who are often presented in opposition to the newer Olympian gods. The conflict between the older gods and the newer Olympian deities was the subject of the myth of the Gigantomachy, and a later aftershock is shown in Aeschylus’ play Eumenides, where old and new forms of justice/vengeance come into conflict. In Valerius Flaccus’ account of Jason’s capture of the Golden Fleece, Medea is positioned squarely at that intersection between Hekate and the Olympian gods, as Hekate is sad to see Medea leave, and Venus boasts that Hekate is no match for her powers: Hecate’s dismal powers are nothing for us to fear: let her appear or attempt to interfere with our purpose, and even she will feel pangs of passion stir for the Argo’s captain to whom we give aid. “ Nah, and it’s not like the Chief Justice is exactly against your acts of vigilantism… but I didn’t tell you that. “ within a couple steps he stood next to her, the umbrella he held covering both of their figures. “ ’sides those petty crimes you do, not exactly worth my time. You behave like a child despite your age, the Bête d’Azur should go get you instead. “

His playful chuckle was met with silence, which began making him uncomfortable.

“ So you’re familiar with that story as well? “ the ringmaster spoke up.

“ You could say that. My so-called parents used it to keep me and my adoptive siblings well behaved. “ he refrained from going into details, details the ringmaster was already aware of.

“ In a way you’re not wrong, the Bête d’Azur does in-fact go after those who dare disturb the peace of Fontaine. I’m not fan of the story, though. “

“ How come? Are you some literature critic as well? “

“ Not quite. It’s just more personal. “ And though the ringmaster always managed to keep her cool persona, that slight almost unnoticeable voice break didn’t go unnoticed by the Duke — a smidge of vulnerability he rarely saw on the ringmaster.

And the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide is many things but stupid, and he has known the ringmaster long enough to connect the dots scattered around.

“ I was heading to the city, you could come along. It’s been a while since we passed by that tea shop, and they serve iced-tea now. “

Backstory: Katriona grew up as a tall child, permanently taller than everyone around her. Her mother the less successful sister of a specialist doctor, and her father the eighth of eight kids. No one knew how tall she would eventually be, and how much pain she'd end up in, before she got corrective surgery at the age of 20 (she stopped growing at 7'0"). She pays for everything in her life through wrestling (and her artwork), something she'd learnt from her family.

Katriona started wrestling professionally when she was 16, and back then she was only 6'0". Having a flair for the dramatic, and a desire to up the amount of money she could spend on food, Katriona trained to be a highflyer (and took a more comedic angle to her wrestling), and soon doubled her drawing power because of it, after all, it's not everyday that you see an (actual) giant do a backflip and succeed. Going under the mask, as a way to market herself as a potential threat, came soon after this.

Although, in reality, she knows deep down that she wears the mask to hide her face, and remain somewhat private in her everyday life. She would make people think that if the mask was removed, during a match, that she would become much more savage, and cannibalistic, and attempt to bite her opponent. Vesta talked her into becoming the Gluttonous Giantess, and soon after joining the Lucifarians, her natural height and weight advantage, put her on track for being the biggest draw of the group, a role Katriona doesn't like much.

If you were to assign Greek god skins to the other heroes who would get which god or goddess? Keeping in mind Junkrat called Dionysus already

I feel like I've answered this before but it was likely before new additions to the cast.

Honestly I'd cast Cassidy as Dionysus just because he'd be extra slutty in that skin and it would suit him immensely.

First of all Pharah is horrifically miscast as Hades and that that skin is busy as hell on her. I'd pick Athena for her in a heartbeat. I mean...helmet?? Bird theme??? JUSTICE???? The other alternative is Themis which could be really cool with the blindfold.

Ana is Hestia because headscarf and motherhood and also she deserves a cool fiery themed skin. Nyx is also an option.

Reaper is Hades (yes I know Thanatos is probably more appropriate but Hades is more well known). However!! It's very important that he has his Reyes face and not his usual spooky mask in this skin. He can have a variant of his spooky mask in a Thanatos skin.

Baptiste is Apollo because Apollo is a god of medicine as well as an accomplished warrior.

Kiriko as Artemis and her kitsune is replaced by a hound.

Hanzo as Eros!! A slutty skin to match Cassidy's!!

Tracer as Iris because rainbow.

Moira is Hecate.

Torbjorn is Hephaestus. Honestly Junkrat could also be Hephaestus because prosthetic leg and engineering and fire themes.
