I feel like a very important part of one's journey to veganism is realising that it is not really about you. All the animals you've never seen deserve to live. The lives of all the ones that have inconvenienced you are important just like ours. The animals you're afraid of or disgusted by don't deserve to die.

We are not the ones who decide whose life is worth living, non-human or human. We aren't here to decide others' purposes or meanings.

We should all realise, know and remember that.

I've been vegan for one week now.

and already im loving it WAY more than i thought i would. going vegetarian was sorta hard, going vegan was one of the easiest things ever. here are some of the pros I've noticed:

- i get my nutrients way easier (especially vitamin B12 because it's added to many vegan products)

- store brand vegan products taste great and they're cheap, which makes my weekly grocery purchase a lot cheaper than when i was vegetarian

- i eat less sugar because most of the sweets in the store aren't vegan, so i can't just throw anything i see in the shopping cart. i have to know what i want and then get it.

- i don't binge on chips or chocolate anymore even though i have both at home

- vegan sweets are actually amazing

- vegan pizza options are tasty and the fake cheese tastes great in 9/10 cases

- i feel more energized (but idk if that's from the food or if im just having a good week)

- ben & jerry's has tons of amazing vegan ice cream

- i don't get food coma anymore

- i have a clean consciousness.

so all in all, 10/10, definitely recommend.

Soooooo, I may have seen something that bee post with like a million notes. I suddenly can't find it, but if you haven't seen it, it basically amounted to "vegans can eat honey. it doesn't hurt the bees. They actually prefer it. They make too much and it means a giant ape protects them from predators and the elements. It's a win win. They could leave at any point but they don't unless their beekeeper is doing a bad job taking care of them. Them staying the closest thing to consent for use of an animal product as you can get."

Obviously, big companies still do things that we shouldn't ignore, but local bee keepers and hobby beekeepers often treat their 20,000-80,000 little pets very well. (Obviously, you should still judge on an individual basis)

PSA: "free range hens" are a scam. They're not well treated, they're still treated like egg making machines. They're still abused. They still get killed. They're still exploited. And the male chicks get killed right as they're born.

It's also not natural for a hen to lay 300 eggs per year. We manipulated them to do so. It takes a huge toll on their bodies and makes them die faster.

Go vegan.

I love cows. They're so warm and loving. They'll lick your hands and rub you with their heads. They will enjoy pets and brushing. If one believes in souls, cows are creatures that definitely have them - it's very obvious to anyone who has even seen a cow from up close.

But, even if they weren't any of this, they would still deserve long, happy lives and their species-typical needs met.

We should do our very best for them.

And now I'm about to present you natural biodegradable vegan chewing gum, which also improves gum health and kills bacteria. We call it "sera", and it's made of larch raisin. It smells like pine forest and tastes a little bit mint-bitter with a sweet aftertaste. The pieces in the picture look solid, but it melts a little from one's mouth's warmth and gets the consistency of regular chewing gum
