New Resource Spreadsheet for Indie Game Authors/Devs
I've compiled a Google Sheets spreadsheet that will continue to be updated with resources over time to make it more comprehensive. Some are resources I made myself, some are from other creators and they are linked directly for their credit. It is meant to be a place where new or established creators can reference.
For now, I am only sending the link to other creators. Please message me from your author/creator/game account for instant verification if you would like the link. I won't send it to other types of accounts as of now.
Here are the sections currently available in the spreadsheet:
Minimizing Pirating (Patreon, itch.io, etc.)
Twine Resources (coding, discords, videos, templates, etc.)
Ren'Py (coding, videos, templates, etc.)
Worldbuilding (articles, inspiration, templates, tools, etc.)
Characters (diverse characters, character dev., educating oneself, tools, etc.)
Writing & Outlining (outlining, plotting, editing, writing, tools, etc.)
Marketing (Kickstarter, Tumblr, etc.)
This post is not to open a discussion on particular topics and I won't respond to any asks regarding those. But I have been working behind the scenes for some time to compile, research, and create resources and information to better arm indie creators. Please send me a message here if you would like the link. I would prefer to only share it with other creators at this time.
Best,
Vi

The Bully clique and its members were underutilized, and it makes me sad.
I already know all about how the clique itself is part of the leftovers from the Punk clique along with the Townies, so that kind of explains why the both of them are just sorta there, but still.
I'm putting a divider on this since I'll probably ramble a bit.
I think it would've been neat if all of the members had been more reoccurring in the game (including Russell, since like Gary he pops up in Chapter 2 once and is pretty much never brought up again until the last chapter.)
For instance, I had one idea of two of the bullies tagging along with Russell and Jimmy during the mission where you egg Tad's house. (Maybe Tom and Troy, since Tom mentions hating the Preps in one of his quotes and Troy probably hangs out with Russell outside of school the most.) Naturally they help distract the preps while Jimmy throws eggs into Tad's house. It'd probably make the mission easier than it already is, but I think it'd be ok given it is a kind a of revenge mission after the Preps turn on Jimmy after Gary brings up what he said about them during the cafeteria scene.
Also, I think it'd be funny if it was those two in particular since I can already imagine the cutscene where while Russell is threatening Mr. Oh for calling him dumb, Tom's just trying to deescalate the situation while Troy's probably making it worse.
I started thinking a lot about what it'd be if they were more involved in the story after taking note of how many people choose them as the clique Jimmy would be in a "what-if" scenario where he actually bothered to join one.
Now, obviously, this doesn't mean Jimmy would join up with them as a member. But I think out of all the other cliques, they'd turn out to be the closest with him, like genuine friends since the group has always sort of given me the vibe of a friend group more than the other cliques, only rivaling the Greasers. I feel like it would make the fact that they still have 100% respect for Jimmy even after all the other cliques turn on him mean a hell of a lot more rather than it just being done for gameplay reasons. Heck, they'd probably even aid Jimmy along with Russell during Final Mayhem rather than them inexplicably just being in the main school building to be beaten up by Edgar.
I'll probably make more posts around this idea, but for now, I'll cut it here since it's getting a bit long.

There's actually a huge discourse(?) about twst otome thing last year on twitter and some otome players gave multiple reasons why twst would be even better if it's otome. They said it would focus more of each character and explore them in greater details.
That might be what it would look like to some people, but given Otome game track record there's a high chance they'd have to drastically reduce the size of the main cast. It'd be Yuu and like 4-7 of the boys but not all 21 of them. Also it always depends what aspects of the characters you focus on. We probably wouldn't get that much focus on the interpersonal relationships in the Diasomnia family if romance with MC would be the main aspect of the game and this is also a level of depth to characterization that we shouldn't dismiss. Ofc you could keep it as it is and just add a romance aspect but then it would not classify as an Otome game.
The sad reality is in any alternate reality where Twst is an Otome Game, it would not be a Disney game (which would already drastically alter the story given that it revolves around Disney villains) and in that case there's a high chance it would not stay as sfw as it is now and MC might not stay gender-neutral or might get a sprite or indicators of what they look like. The very definition of Otome Game involves it being targeted towards women. There's a lot of people who would not be affected by this and I feel like those are the ones advocating for Twst as an Otome Game. But I'd wager a lot of men in the fandom and trans, non-binary, ace and aro people would not take the gamble.
Twst as a Disney game with the set-up that it has now and a gender-neutral, faceless MC who has platonic relationships with the main cast allows for literally anyone to be Yuu regardless of age, gender, orientation, ethnicity or level of comfort towards romance and suggestive content, which makes for an inclusive gaming experience and a very diverse fandom that I would never trade for a romance aspect I can always explore in fanfiction.

Debated posting this but wanted to clarify something. In my other post, I was discussing how the author was being talked to by people after asking for their stuff to be taken down.
I know I am privileged in many ways and could never understand the struggles many people have to go through. My main focus is the disrespect towards authors. And that was my main focus in the other post, not the fact that someone can't afford Patreon. While I appreciate those who have been able to and wanted to support me via Patreon, I don't look down on the rest of the people who play my games. I appreciate every bit of support as an indie creator. It means a lot to me.
That said, some people have become desensitized because of the anonymity and distance the internet creates. We are actual human beings on the other side of the screen. We are real human beings working countless hours while juggling our lives to create something that we hope brings joy - even a way to escape from your own troubles.
Our creations don't appear out of thin air. They are a result of forcing ourselves to learn new skills, having breakdowns, spending the only free time we have, and putting ourselves out there.
Yes, that comes with criticism and we accept that - but we don't deserve to be talked to like we aren't people. There's a difference between criticism (which can be helpful) and being dehumanized, which can suck the passion out of us (causing your favorite games/creations to disappear forever).
I won't stop speaking my mind about what matters to me. I know some of you don't like that - I've already lost 100s of followers from speaking my mind. And that's actually good. I know there are some amazing people who support me and continue to - those are the people I keep creating for.
If you agree with how this person is talking about authors and the people who support authors, then I ask that you go ahead and unfollow me as well and don't play my games.

Crazy ass crossover idea that's kinda fitting but also, as mentioned, crazy to think about:
Bully/Canis Canem Edit × Battle Royale
Basically the students of Bullworth Academy (And maybe the Townies as well?) getting abducted and put into an Americanized version of The Program from the original novel, and then chaos ensues.
I've had it on my mind for a while, but it got shoved into the back of my head due to my female Jimmy Bully Au. Plus, I got insecure about the idea, and I couldn't figure out whether I wanted it to be an alt universe/sequel or just have it take place during Chapter 3 of the original game.
If you don't know what Battle Royale is, here's the page on it from Tv Tropes that explains the basics, it's literally the originator of the Battle Royale genre:

This is probably an unpopular opinion (Not that I care tbh) but I don't think the 2015 Jeff reboot story was good. At all.
Like, it feels like it was purposefully written to not be a creepypasta story, so it really doesn't read like one. I haven't read the director's cut version that apparently exists so I don't have an opinion on it, so i'm not sure if it addresses the issues I have with the story.
It also feels like most of the people praising it are just doing it because the 2011 version is arguably worse in many ways. Which I ain't gonna deny, but I think it's a shallow way to judge the story tbh.
Jeff's new design for the story is pretty good, even if it still doesn't make sense considering how flares actually work. I will say though that it makes the people praising the story for being "realistic" a hell of a lot funnier.
