The demigoddess had heard rumors of some festivities for the new year. So, she had decided to stop by on one of her nights off to explore what had been set up. Despite still in worsened conditions, her clothing did not match her funk. Esther hoped for a bit of joy in her explorations. She had only just recently cared to leave her apartment, and so with such bright lights and beautiful decorations, she did not feel it was a trip wasted.

Stopping before the wall of talismans, Esther looked between the woman and the beautiful sea of red. If she needed anything, it was good fortune, and though she was a bit pessimistic of being successful, she did have a few wishes she did care to come true. So, when she received hers, she could not quite settle down on singular request. Lost in thought, a helpful bystander reached out to her.

"Oh? Yes?"

I want to live a sitcom life.

I want a group of friends who will always be friends. Who will fight for a few episodes, but always come back. Who you know will be friends until the end of time, because that's how the show goes. I want my sad episodes to always end with my friends sitting next to me in the rain and being sad with me. But always knowing that the show will have a happy ending. I want the cruddy apartment that we call home. That no matter how many times we try to move out and move away, we always come back to. I want to know that even after multiple seasons, things have changed, but they'll always stay the same. I want the relationship where even when they break up, everybody knows they'll be together in the end. I want the sitcom life, where the show always ends with "and they all lived happily ever after."
