My favourite facts about crimean tatars:

The first ever institution of higher education on the territory of modern Ukraine was founded in Crimea: it was medrese of Khan Uzbek, founded in 1333. Currently only ruins remain of the building.

Crimean tatar women were the first in the islamic world to get the rigt to vote.

In 1917, the first Crimean tatar Kurultay (something alike to democratically elected parilament) included women.

Moscow used to pay tribute to the Crimean Khanate :)

In 2021, Örnek, the traditional crimean tatar orniament, was included in the UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. (Learn more here and look at the beautiful examples)

One of the most prominent human rights' activists on the territory of USSR was a crimean tatar Mustafa Abdülcemil oğlu Cemilev. He spent 15 years in prisons for this. He would later become the head of Mejlis (the highest governmental organ of crimean tatars) and is currently a member of ukrainian parliament.

2016 Eurovision winner, Susana Alimivna Jamaladinova, better known by her stage name Jamala, is a crimean tatar.

Maidan, which is the general word with which ukrainian call the anti-governmental protests, is a crimean tatar word.

Cheburek is a national crimean tatar dish.

no women aren't just biologically superior because they're born emotionally more intelligent than women and men are just cruel people with no empathy.

women are more emotionally intelligent because we know how it is to be oppressed and live a limited life with limited rigts. we're more empathetic and you find human Rights activists are mostly women because naturally we're fighting for our own rights. men on the other side (especially arab men in arab countries) are so privileged they dont even care or understand your pain. it's like when a poor person complains about their minimum wage job to a rich person. they simply dont care because they're comfortable. doing otherwise would bring them out of their comfort zone for other people benefit which is simply not their concern.

and stop saying "all men/women are *blank* it must be the estrogen/ testosterone!!!!!" society affects individuals starting maybe at 2 no one is born someway

*Dives into Ooo and holds her sword.* Adventure Time is one of those shows which definitely has shaped my later twenties. It came out when I was just entering my late teens and my twenties and I could only love it. The stories themselves were so great, and as Iearned the history of Ooo I only loved more of it.

There is no one though that I love more than Marceline the Vampire Queen. It all started with the episode featuring the Door Lord and one shirt. All it took was one band shirt and I shipped her so hard with Princess Bubblegum. After finally rewatching the entire series I can see all the minor relationship teases. And truly pisses me off so much that their romance was held back.

I like Marceline like I like all awakward violent women from cartoons. Mostly cuz that’s me. The girl with all the mental health health problems and the violent reactions. Plus, her love of music is rigt there with me. Perhaps the best part of Marceline is how she doesn’t take shit and is willing to step up to help others. Sure, she doesn’t always get Bonnie’s nerdiness, but she cares to listen and supports it.

Also, bad girl get’s the cute dictator is a fantastic trope!

don’t apologize!! I had that issue too where I couldn’t tell what the hell I was attracted to (lmao it turned out I was potentially attracted to anything and everything. Hell my love-struck ass thought I might be aro-spec and I thought I was genderfluid and thought I aligned with womanhood. Shit really does take time to figure out and honestly it was around when I started this blog (almost) a couple years ago when I had completely come to terms with my identity.) and I dealt with homophobic family members.

I was fortunate and my coming out actually helped my parents get over their homophobia because they realized they had no reason to hate LGBT+ people and they couldn’t bring themselves to hate their child. I was very, very lucky. But not everyone has that. If your father can’t accept you for who you are, whenever you’re able to figure out who and/or what that is, then he’s not fit to call himself a parent. And his opinion has no bearing on who you are or where your life should go. And while you’re not religious, I am. And I’m assuming he’s probably a Christian just like me. If he dares say he worships what we’ve been taught is the true God, then he’s not paid attention to any of his teachings about love, acceptance, and compassion for our fellow people. God doesn’t hate queer people or send them to hell and anyone who tries to tell you He does is wrong and worships a hideous god that republicans think would hate immigrants, poc, women, and support using guns to kill each other. Even if you’re not religious and you believe he isn’t real, then even the teachings passed down are still wrong.

But most importantly, you have no reason to hate yourself. And once again; been there, done that. And I know it’s not fucking fun. Part of learning to love myself was linked with me understanding God wouldn’t hate me for being queer, so I can’t give advice for that department. BUT I can say this; that’s the abuse society as forced upon us talking. You’re perfect just the way you are, and even if you don’t even know who that person is, they’re still innocent and don’t deserve such hatred. As long as you’re not filled with hatred and bigotry, you do not deserve that. Take as much time as you need to figure out what your identity is, there’s still terms for you trying to figure yourself out such as wlw, sapphic, and queer. You can use any or all of those and no one has any right to judge you for it. And I support you through this journey and I’m here if you ever need someone to talk to because I’ve faced those fears and fought those battles, I understand that struggle.

Ahhh, the beach. That meant sun, surf, sand...and tiny swimsuits. Not just on the ladies either, but on Fabian Cortez. His excuse was that nude beaches were pretty normal in Spain, far more so than in US, and so he just wasn't used to proper swim trunks. Emphasis on the word 'excuse' rather than 'explanation' Admittedly, it could not be said no one wants to see that. Fabian had a legitimately attractive body by the prevailing cultural standards of the day. Just. It was Fabian. But he wasn't bothering anyone right now. He was just sunbathing. He was awake, but barely. As relaxing as this was, he had to be careful not to doze off and bake too long. Though he was not pasty like most gingers, he was still a bit paler than the average Spaniard, and it wouldn't do to ruin even a spot of his flawless skin with sunburn. But a nice bronze would--- “Look, Fabian!” “GAH!” Fabian tumbled off chair, and his sunglasses off his face, as he opened his eyes and saw a monstrosity appeared before them, rigt under his nose--literally. He hit the sand, getting a mouthful of it in the process, as Anne Marie gleefully held the horseshoe crab out to him again. “He wants to be friends! He knew her. So, what else was there to occupy his time and deserve his attention? Ah, the answer was all around him...and it was wearing bikinis. Fabian approached a few adequately attractive women and shoved himself into joined their conversation and turned it to himself. Just was they were obviously about to abandon all pretense of disinterest and throw themselves at him—whilst throwing their swimwear off---tragedy struck yet again. And in the same form, no less. “Look!” Anne Marie called, and when like a fool he turned, a  jelly fish was tossed iupon his face OH GOD IT STUNG “Isn't it neat? It's like a pink wobbly moon!” By the time he'd stopped thrashing and clawed the wretched thing off, the girls had fled, and Anne Marie was off hunting for some new horror. Now truly irate, Fabian sought to take his frustration out upon an easy target. He soon spied a skinny, untoned fellow, flabby and wan. He would be easy for Fabian to immediately show up with his own perfect, pumped, Adonis Renaissance statue body...even if he still jellyfish stings still on his face. Better than that unfortunate creature's acne. But juust as he had begun making the far less manly specimen aware of his proper place in the hierarchy of hotness, Anne Marie appeared yet again, this time clutching a sea cucumber in her hands and profferring it to him. “Look Fabian! She looks just like a penis, haha!” It is a curious fact that the sea cucumber will violently vomit up its own intestines when alarmed. And this one was very alarmed.
