Are you scared of the hotel? Every ghost (and the handful of living people) are incredibly nice to you. They treat you like a god(dess).

yandere James Patrick March who protects you while you explore. He's possessive. He's gotta make sure the Countess doesn't get her hands on you. He's gotta make sure that no ghost touches you. He's gotta make sure. Just incase.

yandere James Patrick March who is obsessed with watching your complex range of emotions. Happiness. Sadness. Anger. Fear. Love. Lust. Adoration. Obsession. Need. Carnal need. All those precious, precious feelings. He needs to see all of those emotions on your delectable little features.

They always have bloody utensils with them. Just to remind you who it is that you belong to. What he is able to do to anyone that crosses the either of you.

It makes his blood pump— thinking about that fearful expression you must be making. That small quiver on your addictive lips that he has not yet had the pleasure to taste. How tempting you must look in your night clothes. Of course, he's a gentleman. He makes sure that you get enough sleep beforehand. He doesn't want his precious jewel having sleep deprivation.

yandere James Patrick March who reveals himself to you right after a fresh kill. Blood is dripping down his bare chest, his pants are slightly unbuttoned, and his boxers are hugging his v-line. He flashes you his award winning smile. He gets down on one knee and presents you with the heart of his latest victim.

yandere James Patrick March who allows himself to indulge in your horrified shrieks. Who wants nothing more than to take you right then and there. Who wants to see the blood all over both of your bodies. Who wants to leaves long lasting marks that will scar you physically and mentally.

He tells you of how he has courted you and of how he confessed his love. He speaks with hearts in his eyes. If you disagree or break his trance... your inevitable death will come much sooner than expected.

yandere James Patrick March who then demands you cut off contact with anyone who presents as male. He doesn't want anyone having a chance with you. He's almost like a toddler in that way. A murderous toddler with a mustache.

yandere James Patrick March who is a dangerous man who lusts after power. A man that has only one weakness— you being able to step out of the hotel. This is only a momentary weakness. Another step in his plan. Do not play the 'I can leave and you can't' card too many times. Lest it fall from your hand and James picks it up.

“ darling? ”

that voice. it makes you roll your eyes.

can you die again? sometimes you feel like you're getting suffocated whenever you even think about him.

“ oh! there you are, my sweet bee. ”

you grimace before quickly turning around, changing your expression to a smiley face.

“ james. ” you say with a small bow before extending your hand to his lips.

he quickly understands the motion and crouches in front of you, taking your hand delicately in his before kissing each one of your knuckles with soft kisses. in the third kiss you suddenly rip your hand out of his hold, james just shudders in excitement before standing up.

“ you are a goddess, my darling. ”

you were used to his... antics, been dead for a hundred years and half of them were spent by him pestering your time. claiming to be absolutely in love with you.

“ i know, james dearest. ” you turn around, grabbing a bottle of alcohol, pouring it into a fancy glass. “ what do you want. ” you harshly say, downing the whole glass in one go.

james raised his eyebrows a bit, still smiling, before screaming an, “ of course! ”, shaking his head while you grit your teeth.

“ i'm going to throw a party and i would like for you to be my guest. ”

you turn around, the glass forgotten as you slammed it into the small table. “ a party? for what? ”

you were used to james' weird impulses of showing to everyone just how pretentious he could be but the mention of a party just made you confused.

“ yes! exactly! ” he exclaims with his hands raised. “ why should anyone have a purpose to do a party, hm? ” he trails as he walks from side to side, not leaving your room just yet.

you roll your eyes for the second time. “ stop talking. ” you puff out as you sat in a chair, james immediately shutting his mouth.

one thing you did like about him is how well he takes orders.

“ i get it. i'll go to your... whatever. ” you trail off a bit before finishing with the swish of your hand but before your hand could go to your lap again, james catches it with a much bigger smile on his face.

uh-oh.

you fucked up.

“ my dearest beloved! ” he squeals like a teenager being told yes to prom, his knees hitting the floor with a grimacing sound. “ you won't regret it- i swear it on the moon and stars! ” he starts a trail of kisses from your hand to your shoulder and before he could reach your lips, your other hand pushes him.

“ then don't waste the chance. ” you stand up, leaving james sitting on the floor with the biggest smile on his face.

next time you see him, you are called by liz to be on the dining room by eight.

you get yourself to look even more beautiful than ever and when you're satisfied with your results, you go down the stairs.

when you reach the end of them, though, you notice the hotel is too... quiet.

very quiet.

you frown as you look around, perhaps everyone's pranking you and are hidden... perhaps-.

“ y/n. ”

liz's voice startles you, turning around quickly to where she stood.

“ he's waiting. ”

you take the last step and walk to the dining room.

you don't know why did you expect everyone to be there, deadly silent. but the only thing that welcomes you is james standing in front of the table, opening his arms when he sees you; his eyes even lightning up.

“ bumblebee! ”

you give a tight smile. “ where's everyone? ” you ask, clearly ignoring james' attempt of hugging you.

he gets the idea and his arms stand by each side of his body again. “ here! ”

you incredulously look around, scoffing at the sight. “ i just see two. ”

he laughs while nodding, opening his arms again; this time to state a fact. “ a party of two! ”

oh, you could rip him to shreds.

if he wasn't already dead, his head would be hanging on the ceiling with half of his body missing.

instead of killing him, you just walk to the chair sitting on the end of the table, james jogging to catch up and giving you a seat, like the true gentleman he is. he chuckles as you sit before walking to his own seat, clearing his throat.

“ dearest, i hope you know. ” he seems to want to blush, looking at the empty plate in a way to avoid your piercing gaze. “ that i love you so much. ”

“ clearly. i am aware. ”

“ splendid! ” he claps, his elbows resting on the table. “ then you understand how people like me show their love? ”

you nod, clearly not interested in anything that came out of your plan. you were still planning his... second death?

“ perfect. ” he slightly raises his head as the doors of the kitchen opens behind him.

two people reach each other, one serving you wine and the other one serving him champagne. james quickly dismisses them while his eyes still saw you as if he was trying to memorize every single detail in your pretty face.

you drink a bit of your wine.

“ ah, the food! ” he chuckles, finally letting you breathe as he looks at the silver plates that were reaching the both of you.

you expect to find one of those expensive meals james brags about.

but the moment both waiters raise what covered the food, your breath hitches.

there it was. your closest friend's head, with theirs mouth open and eyes wide.

you befriended them when they asked for a room in this ugly hotel, they found you an interesting person and you did too. you must admit now that you were feeling a slight crush.

it seemed like james found out longer before you did.

“ i don't like when you show other people attention. ” james suddenly says, your eyes traveling from the grotesque head to his face.

he swirls his glass before taking a sip of his drink.

“ you hate my affection yet you crave others? ” he asks you while his eyes went from the glass to yours. you tremble in your seat.

“ it seemed like you forgot, darling.. who's in charge of this hotel and therefore you. ” his tone is harsh, no longer the sweet enamored tone he always uses when he addresses you. “ you truly think i can't torture you now that you're dead? ”

you look down to his plate, it had a heart in it... still beating, it seemed.

“ oh, dear. ” he feigns pity. “ i will always find nee ways to torture my way into your heart. ” he ever but softly says, mocking you and the break of your heart.

a clap makes you jump as you looked at him.

a beat of silence.

“ oh, isn't this romantic? ” he says as he rests his chin in the palms of his hands, looking at you with those same crazy eyes, his whole demeanor changing from threating to lover boy. “ you look so adorable, i could kiss you. ”

you could kill him.

✧ James found you by God's hand one fateful day. You could say it was more than a mere coincidence, eh? He had just finished killing one of the hotel guests. He was about to call Miss Evers in to clean up the mess when he spotted something sticking out of the dead gentleman's breast pocket. He plucked the card out of your pocket and read it allowed, 'Doctor...' His curiosity was the least bit piqued. Psychologists weren't exactly popular in the 1930s. The true study of the mind hadn't emerged, but James had always lived to study humans. To study their fight or flight instinct, how their bodies react to various torture methods, and how fear affects the human psyche. Perhaps he has found someone who shares his fondness for such things. It would be a great way to meet someone new. Considering Elizabeth refuses to speak with him, he has grown desperate. Not even defiling his killings tapered his already suppressed desires. 

✧ He got Sally to teach him how to use this magic witch named 'Wi-fi' who owns the internet—or something like that. Most new technology is just rubbish used to get people to make inauthentic connections. Although perhaps just this once, it can be used for the betterment of his temperament. He has Sally schedule an initial appointment at the hotel. Sally uses the excuse that James is bedridden and terribly ill (non-contagious), but he hates telehealth and just wants someone to talk to in person. You were skeptical because of the rumors surrounding The Cortez, but you were in desperate need of another client, and he was willing to pay extra—a lot extra.

✧ You had your first session in his room, and you immediately got strange vibes from him. He wasn't ill, that was for sure. Perhaps he was a little pale, but he probably hasn't gotten enough sun or vitamin D lately. He was even smoking! He was sitting all relaxed on a couch, dressed up in 1930s-esque attire, with a cane leaning against his lap. He introduced himself as James Patrick March, and you immediately understood why you were called. He either has a personality disorder or is a compulsive liar. Perhaps both. You asked him simple questions, such as his real name and when he was born. You were only getting nonsensical answers. He could not have been born in the late 1800's or early 1900's; that is ridiculous! 

James only felt himself grow hotter with each question you asked. It was like a fire had been lit beneath his skin, and he needed to put it out. Then you asked the question that really got him going.

"Since you refuse to use your real name, I'll just call you Mr. March. How is your personal life going? Are you currently sexually active?"

"I have peculiar interests and refined tastes. How do you modern people phrase it? 'Where there is a hole there is a goal'?"

✧ With that astounded expression on your face, he feels his urges compell him to end this lovely conversation early. That look would look perfect on your dead corpse. He takes the sabre out of his cane and tries to slit your throat; he narrowly misses. Somehow, you unlock his room door and bolt through the hallways. How promising. He walks through the winding hallways slowly. You scramble to find the exit, and he struggles with not just outright chasing you through the maze. No, he must preserve the hunt. After what feels like an eternity to you—only eleven minutes in real time—you finally trip over a stair and hit your head on the railing. Talented fox. You nearly escaped to the lobby. You are too much of a challenge to let go so easily. He's going to keep you to get his release. In more ways than one. 

✧ You wake up in the middle of the night in the same room as before. It's freezing, and your clothes are nowhere to be found. Your head is pounding, and you are barely able to breathe. James drugged you with some cocktail of drugs—some legal, most not. You feel blades ghosting your body. You feel them just barely slicing into your skin. It must be sleep paralysis, you rationalize. Something whispers sweet nothings into your ears. You are barely able to discern what those words are. 

"You taste... a dream."

"Never leave."

"The best prey— never leave me."

✧ You drift off once again before groggily waking up in a different room. You are still in the Cortez, now in room seventy-four. You feel much different today, weighed down and yet free. You don't have any marks on you that would indicate you were harmed last night. You feel the need to escape, but you are also incredibly confused. A maid is in your room, setting down a new set of clothes. She explains that you passed out after you tripped on a stair while leaving the session early. You accuse her of helping the strange man you interviewed who tried to kill you. She chuckles and says that you aren't his type. Her voice has a little bit of spite in it. That was the moment that you were introduced to Miss Evers. Quite possibly the only person who simultaneously envies you for getting all of James attention and pities you for your lack of self-awareness and intelligence in the situation.

✧ Before you are even able to shoo her off this JPM impersonator comes in your room and greets you. You are naturally apprehensive. He is naturally enthralled to see that his trophy prey has awoken. He cannot wait to just see how you react today. You try to leave and he explains that you never finished your session. You accuse him now of trying to murder you. He brushes it off and insists that you at least have breakfast with him before you leave. You are about to answer firmly when Miss Evers folding of a towel loudly snaps together. This 'James' scolds her and she gives him a doe-eyed look. Before you are even able to say no he is ushering you down the hallway in silken pajamas someone put on you while you were passed. The thought makes you shudder.

✧ You both were served a hearty and delicious breakfast. It isn't very filling to you, no matter how much you eat. It must be how queasy you are from yesterday. If it happened. Perhaps you had a mental break due to all the stress you have been through lately. You don't get a lot of time to think because you are snapped from your thoughts. This James speaks about your future together and how you will have a long and fufilling relationship. He asks you to give him a psyche evaluation. When you say no, he subtly threatens you with the thought of not paying because you didn't actually fill his full session. You reluctantly agree.

✧ He's both incredibly frustrated and intrigued by your persistence. How many times must he explain to you that he isn't a 'cosplayer' or someone with a personality disorder. He is simply the great James Patrick March. No matter. It will make you even more fun to play with.

"Your delusions, doctor, are clouding your mind. So I suppose I will have to make you see the truth—one way or another."

He sets up small 'challenges' to see if you can pass them. He wants to test how long your mental fortitude will hold up. 

✧ The first of those was dismembering himself in front of your very eyes. He does it multiple times, and they are all random. He will pluck his eye out and stir it in his tea. He will cut open his chest and stuff his organs into your suitcase. He will remove whatever is covering his neck and finger from his suicide wound. He asks if you would like to feel it, stroke it, touch it, or play with it.

"Doctor, I understand you only deal with the human mind, but would you like to feel this and assess if it is real? Do you believe me now?"

He will stab himself in the heart during one of your sessions and tell you that this is what you do to him. In the most extreme cases, if he isn't getting your coveted attention, he will take himself apart limb by limb and place them on your bed like a cross.

✧ You begin to come to terms with the fact that, at least, this man is psychotic. Perhaps not a ghost, but definitely a killer and wickedly sadistic. You try so many of the phones in the hotel, but so many seem not to work. You try to find your way out once again, but you seem to be trapped within these walls. Which comes to one of his many other tactics: trapping you in The Cortez's hallway maze. He is able to distort the minds of his guests and make sure that they never get out. Like a rat trying to find an escape from a box maze that has no exit. He enjoys just slowly walking behind you and taking in your panic and your quick breaths when your clothing rides up on you. He is able to take a respectful peek at what he will inevitably see time and time again.

✧ He keeps you trapped in the hotel. You never even have a chance to get to the lobby. He has a nice breakfast, lunch, and dinner with you. He has his daily sessions with you. Outside of that? His torture. All of his torture. All of it. He threatens you with it subtly if you do something that he is displeased with. He'll even lock you in that death closet of his and make you stand right near the spike. Sometimes you prefer to be in there because you can hide from him. He likes it when you hide in his death traps. So he totally leaves you alone and totally just doesn't sit right outside your ability to view him.

You are coming to the point where those times when he is cordial are the times you crave. All part of his plan, of course. Although—he hopes that you will keep up the chase, he likes that fiery spirit of yours.

✧ You often find him getting release from his dead victims. You know because your relentless cycle of agony and pleasure stops. At least he doesn't force himself on you when you are awake. You end up doing your best to stay as far away as possible from him during that time. Only you always end up stumbling into the same room as him. You avert your eyes, yet he always has something cheeky to say to you.

"Ngh—darling, darling, wait! This.... this could be us. This could be me. You and me. Nothing could be a replacement for how your flesh feels against mine."

He always turns around and gives you one of those godforsaken winks of his.

✧ That isn't the only time his victims come into play. You are always suspicious of the food he serves you. It's either drugged or the meat could be made from his victims. You first learned that the hard way. You were served meatloaf, and James called in manloaf. He stated that it was made in this very hotel by the very guest who was trying to help you leave. You wanted them so bad, you can have them—in your stomach.

✧ Not even the Countess is able to help. Not that she tries. She is too busy luring more men in. She's forgotten about James mostly, except for the betrayal. She gives you a few warnings and some caution when she can. You are almost like one of her children. Perhaps she would help you if you really were in need. Maybe.

✧ You still get those sensations in your sleep. The feeling of fingertips ghosting on your figure. How the sheets seem to slip off your body. A warm presence keeps you close throughout the night. It often manifests in such strange dreams. It feels like James's thoughts are being injected into your own mind. You dream of him against you—sometimes he is brutally murdering you, and in others he is sensually caressing you. He always seems to tease and taunt you with those tantalizing images in your mind.

✧ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ ⁿ⁰ — You often have panic attacks and breakdowns because of him. Your heart rate quickens as sweat rolls down your body. Your legs shake and give in. The entire hotel seems to spin around you. You have to seek him out for your own comfort. It's so twisted and vile. You can feel bile rising in the back of your throat when it happens. You almost have to crawl on your hands and knees to reach him. Yet, it feels like heaven. His skin is so soft and supple. His suit is always made of the most comfortable materials. His body is always so cool to the touch. In those moments, your body melts into his. That is, until your mind stops its dissociation long enough to realize the trauma you were going through. You are falling for him—a classic case of Stockholm syndrome. You couldn't stand for this. You need to fight against this, against him.

✧ Unfortunately, your non-belief in ghosts stops when you see multiple people you thought were dead trying to warn you. You see your patient, who was killed in this very hotel. They tell you that they're so happy to see you. They are so happy you are here with them. You have to put on your therapist hat again and calm them down. It all clicks. Other people you thought were guests here were warning you. You are being oddly welcomed into the space. The others are cautious of your presence and afraid to upset the owner, the one who holds so much power over them. That strange being that seemed to flicker in and out of your peripheral occasionally. You finally make peace with the fact that James Patrick March is indeed a ghost. You really do need to escape here.

✧ You steal the hotel's shipping schedule for their toiletries and linens. You make a plan to escape. You think you are so clever, and it really makes James hot under his white buttoned collar. He lets you think that you are so much more astute than him. It makes him a little desperate, but he won't show it. He needs your touch so badly. He needs you to love him so badly. He needs you to be his little trophy victim. He needs you to help him chase his highs. He needs you. He needs you. He needs you. You, only you.

✧ He confesses his undying adoration for you and clings to your waist as you try to walk out. He sighs and tries one more tactic before you step out the door. He promises to tell you the entire truth. You are caught off guard by this, and your hand slips off the door. He leads you to his trophy room and shows you his 10 Commandment killings. He directs you to the corner, where your body lies. You are covered in wounds that have long since dried out. Your eyes are lifeless. You have his name etched across your naked chest. You scream, shout, and sob. James gently holds you and soothes you even as you thrash, kick, and gnaw at him.

"You've been trapped here the entire time. Since that night."

As if that makes it any better. You aren't that stupid. You could connect the dots—lack of appetite, coldness, the odd sensations, everything. You are stuck with this monster for all eternity.

"Hmm, yes! I saw you and just knew that I had to have you. Have you gotten my diagnosis yet, my love? It's lovesickness, and your body is the cure."

☾ He hadn't killed you yet, but he will. You two had such a good thing going. He stalked you through the hotel and fell madly in love with you. You stayed unaware and gave him perfect views into your body and soul. You just had to go and do this. You just had to go and try to escape. Now he's dragging your body into a torture chamber and strapping you onto a metal table.

☾ He is still madly in love with you. He's getting drunk off of those terrified faces you're making and how your features contort into unending petrification. He may even be a little excited that such a delicate bird like you tried to fly from their cage. It gives him a chance to try some more of his extreme methods to make you submissive to his words and will. 

☾ You won't be in peace for many weeks to come. The times you are visited by James are filled with 'reprogramming' as he has coined it. This is a mix of torture and praise. He keeps you on high alert constantly. You don't know whether he is going to choose to take you on the table once again or ruthlessly dig his favorite knives into your skin, so you know how he felt when you tried to leave him.

☾ Naturally, he first broke your legs. It is for the 'reprogramming'. You need to be dependent on him. You need to be nothing without him. Don't worry. He won't allow them to heal incorrectly. He won't allow them to heal at all. He threatens you with cutting them off and then killing you. It would be so romantic. You wouldn't be able to act like the Countess. You'd have to depend on him to carry you everywhere. ♡

☾ He starves you of food and his attention. He makes you eat from his hands. He makes you eat from the utensil he is holding. Oh no, sweetheart. You have not earned the right to eat at the table with him again. You will be eating on the metal table. Perhaps if he is feeling generous he will unstrap you and allow you to sit up. If you spit at him or refuse, you'll only make it infinity worse for yourself. No more food for you. The Countess is now delivering your food. As much as she detests James, she hates it more that he's found someone he truly loves. So she manages to be even worse than he is.

☾ He breaks your mind by allowing the addiction demon to be your constant companion. He soaks in your tortured screams as his hand fiddles with his belt. As much as he'd love to indulge in his carnal needs... he'd rather just use the lovely companion he has in the torture chamber. It'll give you a reprieve from the demon. He gets to hear you beg for him and his body. It's like falling in love with you all over again.

☾ He injects you with many different drugs. He paints you with many scars from his most beloved tools. It felt like years before your pain finally ceased. In reality, it could have been just days. James came in to the torture chamber and whispered 'I love you, darling' into your ear. He cut your neck wide open so you would have a matching neck wound. As the life leaves your eyes he presses kisses all over your face. He gropes your body and moans. 'We will be forever together. There is no escape now.'

☾ You awake in his bed with a new pair of sleepware on. You look so pretty and cute. You touch your neck and the slit is there. James can't get enough of it. You tried to escape and now he has you forever.

☾ James taxedermied your dead body. He thinks it's the greatest thing he could do for you. He keeps it next to the 10 Commandment jars. Your body even gets its own glass case. No disgusting chute for you. His love deserves so much more.

☾ He doesn't allow you out of his sight. If you stray too far from his side he summons the addiction demon to terrorize you until you come back. He makes sure that you are so utterly pathetic and lost without his constant attention and care.

☾ He's still very paranoid that you will find someway to escape. He makes sure every guest that enters the hotel doesn't have any affinity for the dark arts. He makes sure no holy people come in either. The last thing he needs is your soul being saved. He needs you here for all eternity with him. If you try and beg for help with other guests he only drags you back. He pulls you into his embrace and gently tsks you. He treats you almost like a bratty, disobedient child. He secretly loves when you're bratty. He loves an excuse to punish you.

☾ You are under his control at all times. Yet, you also have such a control on him. The mere absence of your presence causes him to go on a murderous frenzy. In the lack of your absence he seeks out the Countess for some hate-filled companionship. He has canceled his monthly dinners with the Countess. Something new arises. A sort of punishment from your previous escape that has now made James addicted. You are all in the dining room but the Countess has to watch as he toys with you, makes out with you, plays with the pretty little throat slit he gave you. He doesn't allow her to say anything to you. He just makes her watch. He makes her watch so that he is able to get revenge. As I said, this was originally about 'reprogramming you'... now it is just a greater payback, and an erotic payback at that.

☾ You are able to use that small amount of control over him to get anything you'd like. Your freedom? No. Space or privacy? No. The greatest luxuries and lavish goods one could wish for? Yes. Behave and he'll offer the world to your hands. You may even be able to talk with a guest or two— if he's allowed to stay by your side in his invisible ghost mode— and he gets to brutally slaughter them after.

☾ It'll take over a year for you to gain any semblance of his trust back. After that, you have a better chance of exploiting him and possibly escaping through exorcism or attachment to someone's presence. You will get more freedoms and responsibilities within the hotel. Does that mean he's gonna leave you alone? Not even a little. He may just leave for a few minutes to commit another massacre of guests.

☾ You may have lost your chance to ever escape at after 2026. The hotel is now a historical landmark. They will never tear it down. The place is ever so popular. People go just for the possibility of getting murdered. And oh? James is even more possessive of you as the hotel gains popularity. These swine have come to see his beautiful god(dess)!? They have come just to see if they are able to help you escape? 'Darling, you cannot leave anywhere without me. It's not safe. They want to take you from me. I will not allow it! There will be no arguments on this subject matter! Understood?'

☾ He does not allow any of the other ghosts around you. You are completely isolated except for him. If one or two of them try to pity you they are tortured and scared out of spending time with you.

☾ He contemplates binding your souls together. It's a risky ritual. It would require a talented witch or warlock. It is the process in which you and your soul mate conjoin your souls through time and space. Through every reincarnation you both will find each other. Even if you do not remember you will be tied together. It is a manipulation of fate considering you already had a soul bound to you. James was infuriated when he found that out. He is more likely to do it even more now. He can't have your soul escape, and you find whoever it is that your soul is bound to. You belong to him! Him only!

☾ He treats everyday with you like it is your last. He constantly showers you in praise and love. He allows makes you watch his killings. He is just so utterly obsessed with your presence. He makes it so you would never want to leave. Right? Darling? Dearest? Love of my life? God(dess) of everything in my life?

☾ If somehow all of this didn't manage to move your heart and you still wanted to escape, he would be devastated. He would resort to begging on his hands and knees and sobbing. It would be quite out of character for him. Can't you just see that's what you do to him?

☾ He will do anything and everything. He will make you his forever. He will go through with the soul binding ritual. He will kiss away all of your attempts at anger. He will soothe your need to lash out. He will practically be floating in the heavens. You are his, forever. You are his even after death. In the next lifetime he will have you. He will have you in the lifetime after that as well. It makes his dead body flush. His desire for you just continuously grows even though he has you for all life and eternity.

☾ You'll never truly escape his presence. You'll never truly leave this hotel. Even if it crumbles and the world caves in— he'll pass on with your lips locked together, his hand in yours.

☾ You were assigned your first case among the humans by the Archangel Michael himself! To say you were honored would be an understatement. You were just a simple guardian angel, leading mortals into the afterlife and protecting the ones that were under your care. You had never actually been on earth, given a vessel of your own, no less. It was a bit uncomfortable to fit all of your angelic divinity into a human body, but you would get used to it. With all the fiber in your being, you wanted to become a Power, a warrior of God against the demons. You are much more than just a simple guardian. This was the perfect way to prove it to those above you. 

☾ The Cortez, a place filled with unimaginable agony and sin—they even had attracted a fairly powerful demon, the addiction demon, and a few lesser demons into their walls. You would have to start with the newer and weaker spirits first and then move on to the more troublesome ones. You plan on stripping their power spirit by spirit until they have nothing to feed off of. You'll take care of the addiction demon and then the dead owner, James Patrick March. It's much too troublesome that the demon has attached itself to James. You may have a bit of a problem with taking his soul to hell while exorcising the demon with your angelic abilities.

☾ The first time James saw you, he knew there was something off about you. He felt a shudder go up through his spine, and he felt fear for the first time in his afterlife. It was absolutely intoxicating to him. It was more pleasurable to him than the fear he gave to others. It was like he was discovering a brand new drug. You're like his own personal brand of heroine. He's tried them all, but the adrenaline from his own fear is the most addicting. So many thoughts ran through his head. 

Who is this? A challenger? Another, better successor? Perhaps the 10 Commandment Killings weren't just his epilogue. 

"It's time to start a new book, and you'll be the very first chapter, my dear."

☾ He has watched you since he noticed your presence. He just knew you were something extraordinary. The first time you set foot in the hotel, the addiction demon disappeared into the murky depths of another-dimensional pocket space. He was perplexed when he was unable to call it back. It refused to respond to his commands. Not even the lesser supernatural evils in the hotel would attack you when he commanded. They just all cowered in fear. When the addiction demon did come back, it seemed much more feral, territorial, and truly demonic. He regained control over it, but it was like holding back a dog with its hackles raised and teeth gnashing, ready to kill an intruder.

☾ Even more questions popped up in his mind when he noticed souls disappearing. He was hiding to investigate. He wasn't showing himself because he didn't want to be seen. Yet, you saw right through him. You seemed spooked—like a fawn that had wandered too far from its mother and got caught in the path of a starving wild cat. You disappeared in the blink of an eye, and he just stood there surprised, a little emboldened. This little thing is taking souls from his hotel. Challenge accepted. 

"Oh, you little minx. Let's truly see which of us may be able to best the other."

☾ It was only after he saw you in the action of saving a soul did he realize who you were. That fear and excitement coursed through his veins once again. For the first time ever, he had a worthy prey. You were an angelic being sent by supposedly some man upstairs. His mission became to corrupt you and save his lifetime of work from being undone. After all, if he can corrupt an angel, can't he kill God?

☾ You were just so deliciously infuriating to fight with. It was impossible to go back and forth with you. You always refused his advances, his invitations to private dinners, and the sweet nothings he would try his best to whisper into your ear. Still, you were like a skittish animal. Every time he got too close, you would scamper off back to your room. You warded it against all dark beings. It was your only safe place in his hotel. He had to fix that. He had to make you crawl back to him and beg for his love. Yet, every time, you would simply whisper some words about saving him. 

"James, this isn't the way. I forgive you. I can lead you into the light."

He almost believed you. He knew there was no saving an evil as great as him. 

So he used the addiction demon to slowly break down your defenses. He needed to use it before it became completely feral due to its lack of food because of you. He promised it that he would allow it to feed off your corrupted energy once you finally fell from heaven. 

☾ He pulls your strings just like a master puppeteer. He warns the ghosts of their antics. If they dare ask for your help, if they dare try and get saved, he will drag them to one of the torture chambers. They may be dead, but he still has a few tricks up his sleeve as to how to psychologically torment them. It leaves you isolated. Everyone in this hotel is your enemy or a soul to be saved, except the charming James. He so lovingly speaks to you about how it was only a matter of time until you gave in. Even when you exercise your power against him and make his soul quake in his presence, he can still feel his little hold over you growing. Day by day, he chips away at you with new psychologically haunting games. One day, you will fall. One day, you will fall and be his greatest trophy prey. 

☾ At some point, the game of wanting to make you fall turned into a need. Sure, the addiction was there, but he just believed it was a demon or a momentary high. No, it's a high that never ends when he is around you. It's like your very existence breathes life into his deceased figure. 

☾ He begins to fantasize about what you will look like when you fall and what he will do to you. He wants to hold you close and rip your rotting wings off of your angelic soul. He wants to preserve your wings and use the last bits of them or different things. He wants to stuff his pillows with your feathers so he can sleep with that last bit of your holiness at night. He wants to sharpen the bones from your wings and use them for his weapons. He could use them as spikes at the bottom of one of his chutes. He could use one to stir his tea. He could use two of your wing bones to make matching rings for the both of you. Wouldn't that just be so romantic? 

☾ He invites you on a tour of his esteemed hotel. You decline. So he lures you out. He drags a living client in his hotel to the room in which you are occupying. He knocks on the door and holds a knife to the victim's neck. 

"Shall we go on a tour, or should I go all by lonesome with my friend here to one of my torture chambers? Hmm?" 

You obviously said yes. He was over the moon at that fact. He shows you every inch of the hotel with his same gentleman-like, suave demeanor. He allows you to enter the torture chambers and feel the desperation of the spirits within. He shows you the chutes and what leads to the acid pits, so you see where so many have met their end. He grabs your hand and drags it against the walls so you can feel the souls trapped in them. Every crevice in that place you have seen. It will be your home for the rest of eternity. So he wants you to know it well. 

☾ He even shows you his room. That's the last place on the tour. He locks you in his room and speaks of his master plan—not the details but the overview. You are unable to escape because the walls are lined with angel wards, making your powers essentially useless. He speaks of what he will do to you when you fall. The torture and pain he will inflict. He speaks of how the addiction demon taught him all of this. He tells you how he knows all of your secrets. How he has learned about all of your abilities from the dark forces below.

He goes into fine details about the love you both will make together. The days you will spend in his bed mere seconds after your angelic aura is tainted. He speaks of how it will be good for, good for your recovery.

"Yes, darling! I do have a special plan for the both of us. That night will be the greatest. I promise to make the sweetest love to you, better than any other. For you have never even been touched by a man, have you? I doubt angels are even allowed to explore themselves. What a pity... but don't worry. I'll show you the ropes, even if you may be a little tied up."

☾ He refuses to leave you alone after he learns of the angels way. He becomes ever more persistent in his acts to entice you into his sinful ways of living. He'll show you how freeing it can feel to just give into the darkness and embrace it. He'll lose articles of clothing by 'accident' and ask you to help look for them. He'll speak of different poisons and different torture methods and how you could use those to get back at the so-called 'divine beings' that have kept you as a measly guardian for so long. He teases you about how great of a lover he would be. About how he could help you take over heaven. 

"Hmm, yes. You could become greater than Lucifer himself, dear! We could take over heaven... together."

☾ You either win against the evils within this hotel or fall. Your powers weaken each day as the addiction demon relentlessly attacks you, and James learns more of your kind. It is a race against time itself to see who will come out on top. It truly comes down to you. How devoted are you to the heavens? Is your dedication to becoming a warrior of God greater than your need for a man so singularly devoted to you and only you?
