I’m in undergrad but I keep hearing and seeing people talking about using chatgpt for their schoolwork and it makes me want to rip my hair out lol. Like even the “radical” anti-chatgpt ones are like “Oh yea it’s only good for outlines I’d never use it for my actual essay.” You’re using it for OUTLINES????? That’s the easy part!! I can’t wait to get to grad school and hopefully be surrounded by people who actually want to be there 😭😭😭
Not to sound COMPLETELY like a grumpy old codger (although lbr, I am), but I think this whole AI craze is the obvious result of an education system that prizes "teaching for the test" as the most important thing, wherein there are Obvious Correct Answers that if you select them, pass the standardized test and etc etc mean you are now Educated. So if there's a machine that can theoretically pick the correct answers for you by recombining existing data without the hard part of going through and individually assessing and compiling it yourself, Win!
... but of course, that's not the way it works at all, because AI is shown to create misleading, nonsensical, or flat-out dangerously incorrect information in every field it's applied to, and the errors are spotted as soon as an actual human subject expert takes the time to read it closely. Not to go completely KIDS THESE DAYS ARE JUST LAZY AND DONT WANT TO WORK, since finding a clever way to cheat on your schoolwork is one of those human instincts likewise old as time and has evolved according to tools, technology, and educational philosophy just like everything else, but I think there's an especial fear of Being Wrong that drives the recourse to AI (and this is likewise a result of an educational system that only prioritizes passing standardized tests as the sole measure of competence). It's hard to sort through competing sources and form a judgment and write it up in a comprehensive way, and if you do it wrong, you might get a Bad Grade! (The irony being, of course, that AI will *not* get you a good grade and will be marked even lower if your teachers catch it, which they will, whether by recognizing that it's nonsense or running it through a software platform like Turnitin, which is adding AI detection tools to its usual plagiarism checkers.)
We obviously see this mindset on social media, where Being Wrong can get you dogpiled and/or excluded from your peer groups, so it's even more important in the minds of anxious undergrads that they aren't Wrong. But yeah, AI produces nonsense, it is an open waste of your tuition dollars that are supposed to help you develop these independent college-level analytical and critical thinking skills that are very different from just checking exam boxes, and relying on it is not going to help anyone build those skills in the long term (and is frankly a big reason that we're in this mess with an entire generation being raised with zero critical thinking skills at the exact moment it's more crucial than ever that they have them). I am mildly hopeful that the AI craze will go bust just like crypto as soon as the main platforms either run out of startup funding or get sued into oblivion for plagiarism, but frankly, not soon enough, there will be some replacement for it, and that doesn't mean we will stop having to deal with fake news and fake information generated by a machine and/or people who can't be arsed to actually learn the skills and abilities they are paying good money to acquire. Which doesn't make sense to me, but hey.
So: Yes. This. I feel you and you have my deepest sympathies. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to sit on the porch in my quilt-draped rocking chair and shout at kids to get off my lawn.

People of the internet: learn to fucking read.
What I said: I feel bad for Palestinians that don’t support Hamas. If they die, they will be casualties in this war, and we mourn their loss. I feel bad for the children who have been raised this way and don’t know any better. I don’t, however, feel bad for Hamas supporters (which, according to several sources, is the simple majority of Palestinians right now). If a Hamas supporter dies, I will not mourn them. They are Nazis, and I will not cry over their loss.
What you heard: I want all Palestinians to die horrific deaths. I love when children are dead. I hope everyone dies in this war. I hate Palestinians because they elected Hamas 18 years ago, not because of them currently supporting Hamas. In fact, even if every Palestinian tried to fight Hamas right now, I would still want them all dead.
I’m done replying to the comments and reblogs of people who have zero reading or critical thinking skills. So if you comment, DM, or reblog me trying to debate, and I don’t respond - this is why. Some people ask good faith questions. Others are either lacking in the reading comprehension department, or acting in total bad faith.

I just discovered your blog and let me tell you : You're a breath of fresh air. I needed a break from the madness of the marauders stans. I hate how they stripped Snape of all his layers, all his complexity, and either gave it to Regulus or erase it. They reduced him to a one-dimensional bully. But the worst, is when they say that James and co. did nothing wrong, that they were just funny pranksters, that it was a RiValRY ( because 4 or 2 against 1 is clearly fair ). As someone who has been bullied as a child, that chapter made me want to vomit. How can anyone excuse that bs ?
Just to be clear, I will not excuse Snape's mistakes. He did fuck up many times, no excuses. But I truly believe that if he had a HEALTHY support system, and if there was therapy in the wizarding world, he would've never become a death eater. That guy joined Voldemort because he thought he had no choice, he pretended to be racist because he wanted to fit in. How can anyone be blind to that? And that's coming from someone who's had a crush on Sirius Black ( the adult one, the younger one can die ) before they turned him into a woke sissy.
That’s one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive, thank you so much 🥰
I completely agree, I don’t really have much of a problem if they think Severus is a bad person (he certainly was morally grey, so it isn’t that big of a reach), but there’s a difference between thinking a character is a bad person and stripping them of all their complexity and painting them to be a villain with zero redeeming qualities. Over the years, Severus has become a symbol of grey characters, and he is genuinely one of the most brilliantly-written characters I’ve ever seen or read. It’s so unfair of them to strip all that away and disregard his whole arc.
And the fact that they do all that while pretending like the most irrelevant characters ever (James and Reginald Regulus) had his best traits and were more canonically interesting than he is and then acting superior to Snape fans is insanely ridiculous. They do it with so much confidence too 💀 as if we were the ones who had to give the Character We Hate Whose Character We’ve Purposefully Simplified’s best traits to our non-existent faves.
As someone who has been bullied as a child, that chapter made me want to vomit. How can anyone excuse that bs ?
Ikr?? I read OoTP a few years before the same thing happened to me. And honestly, when I was a kid, every time I reread SWM after it happened I would get panic attacks. (It usually doesn’t happen now, but I still get filled with hatred whenever I read James physically immobilising and stripping Severus.)
I will not excuse Snape's mistakes. He did fuck up many times, no excuses. But I truly believe that if he had a HEALTHY support system, and if there was therapy in the wizarding world, he would've never become a death eater.
Absolutely. His trauma was left unattended and he was a 18/19 year old who was recruited by a charismatic man who promised his young followers power and respect. So many of the DEs we see in Harry’s time were recruited in their late teens/early twenties, and I think it really says a lot. Those are actual methods used in real life cults in order to groom, manipulate, and sometimes even emotionally blackmail people into joining. Severus was clearly a victim, and even if he had the worst intentions when joining, he eventually defected (and by eventually I mean literally less than two years) and fought for the light side 10 times longer than the amount he followed Voldy for, and he was vital to his demise. That more than makes up for it, and seeing people saying shit like “you’re not a hero for cleaning up milk you spilt” makes it clear that his haters have zero reading comprehension or critical thinking skills.
And that's coming from someone who's had a crush on Sirius Black ( the adult one, the younger one can die ) before they turned him into a woke sissy.
lol I’m still obsessed with both the adult and younger one

...? so if we swap out the immortal character for say, I don't know, a 60 yr old, someone older than both Viren and Claudia and maintaining the same power imbalance and you still don't see the difference shipping a 60/unspecified middle aged person versus a 60 yr old/19 (met at 17) yr old then I don't know man - like I get it yada yada it's fiction I don't care for them either but to pretend one isn't more problematic than the other, for like common sense reasoning, is a little silly
I don't know how to tell you this, but age gaps 1) aren't inherently bad and 2) what can make them bad/worrisome is the power imbalance, typically between men in their late 20s and girls in their late teens, that the age gap can bring in terms of maturity, life experience, and manipulation tactics. All things that Aaravos has over both Viren and Claudia somewhat equally. He's been more outright manipulatory towards Claudia, but he also quite literally has Viren's whole ass life in his hands to treat like a toy. So it kinda evens out there, if you ask me
Also will reaffirm in my tags: I grew up reading greek myth. Aaravos is literally thousands of years old, yet appears to be like, maybe in his 30s-40s (it's hard to tell because no visible signs of aging, but he's definitely more adult than young adult leaning). And if you grow up reading greek myth, gods are banging mortals left and right under extremely or outright non con situations (hi Zeus and Apollo in particular). I also read "Wuthering Heights" (one of the most fucked up quasi-half sibling relationships ever) and "Jane Eyre" (18 yr old girl and her 40 yr old employer) while getting my degree in how fiction can, or when it doesn't, influence reality, how views on age gaps and even incest has changed in society and fiction over time (the Victorians idealized a lot of weird stuff but we also get a lot of their moral hangups regarding sex in general).
Aaravos is not like a '60 year old man'. There is no real world equivalent. This shit happens every single time there's a vampire or god or angel or mortal shit (which errs towards teens, bc YA, but is also there in Adult fiction) but like. You think that immortal being is cognizant of a human being 15 vs a human being 30? You think they have any solid comprehension of what that lifespan is like? You think Aaravos gives a shit as to Viren in his 40s (which, how would death aging work anyway?) vs Claudia being basically 20 when Aaravos is thousands of years old?
TLDR; I get that age gaps on a base level can make people uncomfortable, but that sort of reading requires and engages with zero critical thinking skills, because it's the power imbalance that that kind of age gap can help facilitate that's the issue, not solely the age gap itself. Same as to how most toxic/unhealthy relationships, regardless of the ages of people in them, also have power imbalances, because that's what makes it unhealthy. And the unhealthiness of the ship can sometimes be precisely why people like it, even if it isn't my cup of tea, but I don't have to get up on my moral high horse about it
I think it's a little silly to buy into rhetoric that pushes far right conservative moral panics, sorry

"ik ur reading comprehension skills r at a absolute zero but like dont forget that ur little show that is supposedly better than hnk not only glorifies forgiving practical nazis/abusers (the diamonds and they literally committed genocide on gems) and also the conrete design and the amethyst beta desigin in the artbook.... Also the art in hnk looks like a renaissance painting compared to su which is a 4 year olds art project.
This ask probably isn’t worth responding to in good faith, but I’ll try anyway.
A lot of viewers are upset with how quickly the Diamonds in Steven Universe were forgiven and how easy it was to redeem them. And yeah, I can’t pretend that I don’t get it. Their redemption did happen really quickly, and I totally see why people’s suspension of disbelief wouldn’t be able to withstand the rapid pace of the last few episodes. I also get why people would be unsatisfied that the Diamonds changed their ways without receiving any kind of karmic punishment. However, I’m not sure how this criticism could cause you to favor HnK, considering Aechmea is a genocidal abuser who not only only wiped out both the gems and Admirabilis as species but also got everything he ever wanted.
But let me put that aside and get back to Steven Universe. First of all, while the Diamonds’ actions are villainous, I don’t think comparing them to Nazis is exactly fair. The Diamonds created the gems who serve them, and they don’t have any real experience with organic life because there is none on Homeworld. So, unless the Nazis created Jewish people or Jewish people and Nazis were from two different planets instead of being neighbors in the same country, then the comparison just doesn’t work on a fundamental level. It’s the same reason the clumsy racism allegory didn’t work in Detroit: Become Human. White people didn’t create people of color, so when the game tries to use the Deviants as an analogue for racial injustice, it just comes across as insulting.
Speaking of racism, yeah, I’ve seen the concept art you’re talking about, and yeah, that’s not really defendable. But I was under the impression that the creators had apologized for that, so staying mad at them forever about it speaks of cancel culture, which isn’t the most productive. If someone’s apologized in good faith and stopped the bad behavior, then you move on, you don’t keep endlessly bringing it up. I get that the images will still make people uncomfortable regardless of the apology, so I won’t condemn anyone for still having bad feelings about watching a show that has that attached to it. But, for what it’s worth, the actual show that aired on Cartoon Network is not racist at all. The show has a pretty diverse human cast as well as a diverse voice cast, and it doesn’t rely on racial stereotypes for its story, characterization, or humor.
As for the art, imagine preferring art that looks like this:

Can’t relate, sorry.

Every single week for years and years now I have to see another - Batman sucks why doesn't he just kill the Joker- hit post and I am exhausted. It is a tiring take. Really boring. With no new and fresh concepts, no deep dives, barely read comics where all of this is addressed. What continues to be the worst of it for me is a) treating Bruce like he is a fully mentally stable individual devoid of irrational, extreme, trauma induced behaviours and reasoning b) thinking Batman is supposed to be presented as an actual 100% good guy superhero and writers are somehow being stupid and not realising how this lowers his heroism. It always boils down to the very act of seeing Batman kill the psychotic murderer and then zero clue what happens around it, and where the character is then taken. What could be very interesting and impactful arc is reduced to the most basic level moral dilemma and flattened out characters. No psychological sides to it at all, just black and white ethics discussions and vibes.
Myeah, I know what you mean. I occasionally see those kinds of posts as well, even with my rather curated fandom experience. The most grating are indeed the ones that reflect a shallow comprehension of Batman -- why he doesn't kill, what kind of character he is, and what sort of world he lives in. There is a lack of understanding regarding why Batman operates the way he does, and a reductive puritanical approach that morally flattens the characters into versions of themselves devoid of nuance... But on the part of many people making these kinds of posts, I don't think there's any genuine interest in reading more comics, or delving into the complexities of this dilemma. They aren't interested in engaging with the source material on its own terms, or taking context into account.
Aggressive statements calling Batman's no-killing rule stupid, and saying that Batman should kill Joker, were more frequently "Edgy Redditor" takes back in the day; often coming from male fans who wanted Batman to basically become the Punisher. But on Tumblr, their popularity in recent years is rather owed to the rise of purity culture, and especially this kind of... performative moral stance-taking that keeps popping up in fandoms. It's easy to know next-to-nothing about Joker as a character, but still hate on him and churn out Post #20568 about how Batman should kill him. After all, he's abusive and toxic and he killed people, so he surely deserves to die. "I, a pure and deeply moral individual, hate the Joker and don't understand why Batman won't just kill him! Watch me righteously and publically denounce this sinner Problematic Character, and whoever does not follow in my stead must be a sinner Problematic person just like he is!" And then the people who wish to come across as righteous and denouncing this Horrible Bad Character too will provide these posts with attention, and round and round it goes. For this kind of fan, it doesn't really matter where killing Joker leaves Bruce psychologically, or if it makes sense for him to do it narratively. It's not about the characters at all, it's a moral statement -- that conflates real-world rules and morals with the ones of a fictional comic-book world, but that's another much bigger issue.
Also, I did mention it elsewhere, but I'll reiterate that the people who simply dislike Joker for different reasons and mind their own business are obviously excluded from this. People with critical thinking skills, who tag their anti posts and don't harass or spew hate towards other fans who enjoy Joker as a character, are following basic fandom etiquette -- the best thing we can do to keep fandom a peaceful and pleasant experience. No one owes anyone an explanation for why they like one thing and dislike another. We're all playing in a fictional sandbox, and I've seen great meta discussion on Batman's no-killing rule on here, with some insightful and interesting opinions; but this kind of fun debate can only happen if fans don't jump to bite each other's heads off when someone veers away from the dogma Accepted Popular Fandom Opinion.
Anyway, yeah, I do commiserate, Anon. Hope it helped to vent a bit! My advice is to do your best to curate your own little corner of fandom; minimize contact with the people that exhaust you as much as you can.

honestly if I didn't know better, I'd think hs2 was meant as a "fuck you" to the fandom like the epilogues were. but it just feels like they took the epilogues pointing out how far the fandom likes to divorce itself from canon... but the hs2 writers seem to have decided that the epilogues are hussie personally confirming all the fandom interpretations. also, dirk deserved so much better than what the fandom gave him, but not much could be expected from the "Vriska Did Nothing Wrong" group, who are incapable of reading
see the issue is that hs2 was written by people who have literally zero reading comprehension or literary criticism skills whatsoever, who not only thought that the epilogues were 'genuinely deep' simply because they packed it full of dark shit, but also because- tying back to their zero literary skills- they took literally everything in the comic at face value, assumed that the terrible caricatures that the epilogues gave us were canon, and then tried to continue an already-finished story based off of those one-dimensional reddit-fanon caricatures. And then they packed in a bunch of shitty diversity points like transfem John and nb masc Roxy to cover up all the blatantly homophobic and transphobic jokes that were made in the epilogues, such as Dirk's entire fucking problem, the Davekat kiss scene, and the girldogdick joke. SIGHHH.
(They also victim blamed and humiliated Jake for being borderline raped and had the audacity to hint at him being aro or ace in the friendsim despite him LITERALLY playing all his cards to get with him in the comic, but what can you expect from a crowd who genuinely believed that Dirk bullied/sexually harassed Jake into a relationship and that Jake was dumb as shit/deserved what was coming to him. As much as I fume about Dirk, how they treated Jake was genuinely horrifying)
also one of the writers tried to defend everything going to shit in the epilogues as being 'realistic because all your friends will turn on you when you hit your 20s' and...hello?? Huge fucking red flag??? Literally nobody experiences this outside of forced distancing because of college. Most likely what happened was that her friends realized she was a toxic self-absorbed asshole and left her because of that, lmfao. I think she was that one who wrote that friendsim storyline with the indigoblood thats entire purpose was to make the reader as uncomfortable as possible and then mock them for experiencing such discomfort, so that tracks.

another education rant under a readmore so i don't drive you all insane :)
talking about nclb being the sole reason "gen alpha can't read" literally makes zero sense to me. i grew up with the effects of nclb. like i can read. (big caveat there disclaimer!!! i am not every child. i could also go on about older gen z's media literacy & critical thinking skills but i won't.) but now the effects of nclb are so much more concentrated than when i was in school. social studies and science are now a tiny fraction of the k-6 school day which makes me heart sad.
adult illiteracy has been an issue for a really long time. incarcerated children are most likely to be illiterate or be years behind their peers. these are not new problems. the "balanced" literacy shit is a big problem in districts that serve historically marginalized students. for example, iirc, oakland, california has yet to adopt, as a district, explicit phonics instruction, despite pressure. this was a big issue in nyc as well up until recently. the issue compounds if children miss school for whatever reason, which is a problem in some districts for certain populations. lack of transportation, family issues, illness, gang violence, etc.
phonics instruction isn't enough. phonics instruction isn't enough when we don't give students the prior knowledge they need in order to understand wtf it is that they're reading. being able to decode isn't enough. while any phonics curriculum worth its salt will have exercises to help students show they actually understand the text they're reading, it deeply bothers me that we have a wealth of research that shows background knowledge (in science, social studies, cultural understanding, etc.) trumps decoding skills that aid comprehension.
idk what's going on with gen alpha and younger members of gen z. but i think it extends beyond "they didn't get phonics instruction bc of nclb!!!!" 🙄 the level of apathy we're seeing has been building for probably 20 years, which tracks with the passing of nclb. students don't care anymore. parents do not care. teachers do not care. why should they? tbh. Lol. everything sucks.
i will end my dissertation here BUT i think it is complicated. and if i see another tiktok that simplifies the science of reading into a five second clip i'll lose my mind. idk if anything i wrote makes any sense either

Man people really do be straw-manning you and then interpreting all of your arguments in the worst faith possible and acting like that makes them So Smart And Correct. I’m sorry you gotta deal with all these bozos with zero reading comprehension or critical thinking skills. Just wanna add because it’s been seriously bothering me and I don’t remember you ever bringing it up: one of the core tenets of the original op’s post that you responded to was basically ‘this identity is bad because I’m a lesbian and those people aren’t lesbians in the exact same way as me so they’re hurting the lesbian community because I don’t want to see them when they don’t share all of my experiences and (gasp!) talk about men and their relationship to men sometimes because *I* don’t want to hear about men’ and I just. Idk man if that’s what his argument boils down to its kind of a shitty argument. Even ignoring all of the terf rhetoric (which you correctly pointed out) I can’t even begin to understand why someone would want to be in a queer community where everyone fits into neat little boxes and everyone with your label experiences their orientation exactly like you. Aren’t they forgetting that the whole point of the queer community is that larger society attempted to put us in boxes we didn’t want to be in and categorize us into labels and lifestyles we didn’t want? Why would someone ever parrot the actions of our oppressors and do that to other queer people, when they know what it feels like? I can’t even fathom being that selfish and closed minded
>your argument is chock full of straight up lies  Love how this was said in response to your rebuttal of an argument that CONTAINED ITS OWN “STRAIGHT UP LIES”!! Like pot meet kettle lol. Specifically referring to that one bit that was like “uwu bi women tried really hard on purpose to distance themselves from the lesbian community” because that is straight up not what happened!! I haven’t said anything yet but it’s been bothering me for a while and that one ask has so much fucking Audacity that I couldn’t stop myself from Pointing It Out this time. Ahistorical bullshit and they’re accusing YOU of lying. The audacity of it all I can’t
Anyway these guys are just mad that bi lesbians get more bitches than they EVER will. I heart bi lesbians I love you bi lesbians I hope y’all stay winning mwah <3
I'm assuming these are all from the same person because of the timing? If not, sorry for not doing separate responses.
Yeah, this whole thing has been pretty frustrating to be honest. In a way it's even worse than actual terfs, because these are people who are philosophically not that different than I am, and if we met in real life we probably wouldn't even know that we disagree. I mean, I do talk sometimes about label anarchy with some of my friends, but we have to be close and you have to get me in a philosophical mood. It's really frustrating to be openly disrespected as a person for one opinion that, though it does happen to be really important to me, doesn't come up in my everyday life (or, likely, theirs either).
The whole pronoun thing really got to me too. I KNOW they were just strawmanning, and I KNOW it wasn't really a valid critique of anything I said, but the suggestion that I would even consider purposely using the wrong pronouns for someone is upsetting. I don't think he even noticed before an anon pointed it out as a way to invalidate my argument. I don't think it upset him (or the anon) as much as the anon said it did. I still apologized though because I'm not going to not apologize for using the wrong pronouns.
Also I know jack shit about history because it doesn't stay in my break but yeah actually I do remember reading about that! That's crazy, I can't believe they called me a liar when they don't know their history. I mean, I don't either, but at least I'm honest about it.
Thanks so much for sending these messages! Not gonna lie, I was going a bit crazy with all this and the only anons I was getting until now have been the hate ones that I've shared and a few hate ones that I just outright deleted. I know people agree with me because I've seen the likes on my posts, but it's nice to have someone defending me as well, so thank you <3

Why are people again claiming you confirmed the Hunchback movie when you didn’t, you just said a post was interesting and even acknowledged the rumor, and then updated your page as soon as Josh updated his caption?
Because people have zero reading comprehension or critical thinking skills these days. They don’t understand the concept of a nuanced conversation. They don’t have real reasons to hate us, so they have to make up lies in order to justify the fact that they hate that our blog even exists at all.

Apparently my post from last night restarted 3-year old discourse that I didn’t think anyone would actually still give a shit about and everyone is crawling out of the woodwork and I am reminded what a good idea it was to leave this fandom because y’all are insane, holy shit
It’s actually quite fascinating, in a way, the way discourse has evolved, where now if you criticize a Beloved Character you’re suddenly not a ‘real’ shipper of the ship. How dare I say Alex made mistakes, I’m not a Real Malex Shipper anymore and I’m not allowed in the clubhouse. Coupled with an inability to read what I actually said because the second someone says Alex Manes ever did something wrong, ever, you need to defend everything he’s ever done and talk about how Michael was also terrible, actually. For all that you yell about how I should look at things from Alex’s perspective (I do, thanks), the second I suggest looking at his behavior from any other perspective you can’t stomach it
Like, I didn’t say Alex was solely responsible for their relationship not working, I didn’t say Michael did nothing wrong, I understand why Alex acted the way he did. All I said is that Michael’s desire not to pursue a relationship with Alex is understandable following the events of season 1. I didn’t say it was good decision, I didn’t say he did nothing wrong, I said it was understandable.
But, jesus christ on a cracker, apparently understanding why Michael did what he did following Alex’s season 1 behavior impugns the character of your beloved Alex Manes. Whom I actually like, by the way. Just like I like Michael. I actually like them both, SHOCKER. I think they both fucked up. And I actually find it easier to relate to Alex and to get into his head and most of my fics are written from Alex’s POV because, did I mention I understand him and find him compelling. But I’m also capable of looking at things from the perspective of, hey, Alex’s trauma explains his behavior but it doesn’t change that it hurt Michael. (Who also fucked up, I feel the need to repeat that about 10 times because y’all have zero reading comprehension skills)
Anyway, I will not be arguing with anyone on that post, I guess you can reblog it to yell at me but I will not be reading it lol, have fun arguing with each other

Begin by requesting suggestions from associates, companions, or colleagues who have had positive encounters with advanced promoting offices. Tumblr media Tumblr media
I usually just troll on ppl like this because it’s more fun to piss them off than it is to prove them wrong, but you are giving me very much “didn’t grow out of 2014 tumblr” vibes which is high key embarrassing as fuck for you, so I’m gonna break this down word by word for ya. Since you can’t use your brain for shit.
For reference, this is the god damned post in question
Tumblr media
It’s a photo of a French Barbie doll from the YouTube series most popular girls in school. One of her catch phrases in the show is “how do you say..... __??” So this image is titled “you are a.... how do you say.... f*guette?” Uncensored. Clearly a joke about her French ethnicity (a baguette is a classic French bread) and calling the reader gay. I did not create this post. I simply reblogged it, as did 107 thousand other people. When I reblogged it, I tagged it as “I am 😌” because I am in fact, quite gay.
Now that we’ve had our small backstory. To your asks.
“You want to say the word so badly” I actually have never claimed that I would like to use the word. I don’t say the word in my daily life because it makes me uncomfortable. I don’t use it online for the same reason. In my reblog I did not claim the word as my own. I read the post as calling the reader gay. Which I am. I don’t really know what else to say here lol
“You’re a Kinsey 1.5” I quite honestly have no idea what this means and I cannot be bothered to look that up lol
“You’re covering for your lack of same sex attraction” you, nor anyone on this website, knows the real, true me. Let me just make that clear. You can never make assumptions about me because you don’t know who I really am. Not that I owe my dating history to anyone, but if you’ve been around here for a while you’ll know I was in a very public same sex relationship for over 5 years. That only ended like a year ago. And when someone else sent me an anon saying how they assumed I was a lesbian because I never spoke of any attraction to men, I responded by saying I really don’t know if I have any attraction to men at this point. So uh. Yeah. There’s absolutely zero lack of attraction to women lmao.
“You’re going to get straight married in five years” you really want me to sit here and explain biphobia to you 😐 I am not straight, therefore I will never get straight married. A bisexual woman marrying a man is also not a bad thing. You’re erasing my sexuality by assuming a marriage to a man would be a straight one. I cannot believe I have to break that down.
Tumblr media
“You’re insecure” I sell nudes for a living. I ain’t insecure for shit babe
“It’s offensive for you to use a slur” you’re right! Which is why I don’t use it! 🤠
“I notice you didn’t post my follow up ask” ahdhabxja baby. love bug. It was two hours apart. I was hungry. I made beef taretare. I watched sailor moon. I have thoughts that don’t involve you.
You keep beating a dead horse here my love I don’t really know how to respond to you in the last ask, because I don’t use the word (that you’re so comfortable throwing around. Weird.) nor do I want to or ever have claimed to want to. If a gay person calls me the word, it’s obviously a joke, and I’m going to take it synonymously as queer. Which is normal.
I also would like to know if you reached out to OP for this post? Did you approach anyone in the replies saying the same thing as me? Or did you just want to let out some internalized anger because you don’t know how to cope? If you need to vent just vent to me baby there’s no need to make it a personal attack when you just very clearly don’t have any critical thinking skills or reading comprehension.
Have an awful night. 🥰

☕ the queer spaces irl tend to be more inclusive and have less discourse than online ones (maybe bc it's easier to insult somebody online than to their face)
highly agree. some of the shit i've seen on here blows my mind like... please go talk to real queer people not online. spending so much energy on hating each other in our community does nothing other than create divides.
i honestly think it's because people
a) have too much time on their hands
b) have ZERO (0) reading comprehension skills and
c) are vulnerable right now due to the p*ndemic and exclusionists prey on vulnerable people so of course there's discourse since more people are being indoctrinated right now. (see: TERFs, radfems, etc.)
so here's some advice: if you harbor so much hate for another LGBT group right now, please go outside. please think critically and deeply about how it impacts others, impacts your own happiness, and why you think it's healthy to harbor that much negativity, especially towards a group of people. i promise you, it's easier to accept what you don't understand and move on with your life.
