For my money Peter vs Harry/Hobgoblin in Usm comics really gets into the heart of Harry's conflict as a character yet simultaneously loses the nuance and "Spice" of Harry Osborn as an antagonist.

I honestly can't take the 'Sansa stays in the Vale and never comes back North and never sees her family again' metas aka headcanons seriously because it seems a vaaast majority of people who perpetuate this take are Sansa antis who are shaking, crying, and throwing up at the thought of Sansa and Jon being reunited first and potentially working together to take back Winterfell lol. I'm not a J0nsa shipper, I'm a Sansa stan who dislikes Jon so I don't even want that ship to happen, but the absolute seething from Sansa antis at the thought of Jon and Sansa even sharing page space together as totally platonic siblings/cousins/friends or whatever is so, so delicious. Anyway, idk if TWOW will ever even be published so this may all be moot but lmao. They need to worry less about Sansa and more about their faves!
Oh agreed. And it just makes no sense, it's a pointless place for her to end her story. "Robin will die and she'll end up ruling the Eyrie with HH." I'm 98% convinced Harry the Heir is going to die.
"And may your horse stumble, Harry the Heir, so you fall on your stupid head in your first tilt." -Alayne I TWOW
Not looking good for young Harry. After all, the last time Sansa wished for someone to fall during a tourney, they did.
"I hope [Ser Morros] falls and shames himself, she thought bitterly. I hope Ser Balon kills him." -Sansa I ACOK
Of course, Morros isn't killed, but he did fall and shame himself in the process. It's my assumption that this time death will be the result of his injury. On top of all that, Harry's a jerk. So unless he somehow survives, is humbled by his fall, and stops his habit of knocking up ladies and then dumping them just because they can't lose their pregnancy weight fast enough, I don't want him near Sansa. It's ridiculous the amount of gross men she has to put up with.
And as for Robin, I'm very confident he will live. And if that's the case, The Vale will be his. He has plenty of confidants who will be by his side and help him rule. He doesn't need Sansa for that. And based off his current affection for Sansa, she won't need to marry him to gain his alliance or support. Having her remain in The Vale to "control Sweetrobin" would diminish her as another LF or Varys pulling puppet strings on premature, young leaders. That's ooc for her imo. She's not interested in power. In the first book she brags about one day becoming queen, after she is betrothed to Joffrey (I'd brag about it too tbh) but we haven't seen that since. Even when she thinks about her claim to Winterfell, there's no shred of desire to actually rule. It just depresses her because she realizes she's being used and abused for her claim. What she desires most of all is to be loved, and to find someone to love. (But I guess it makes her a bitch for wanting to be with someone she finds attractive and...fucking normal in the head.)
They also argue that she'll be married to Aegon. And that makes little sense to me as well. Sansa goes from being used by Littlefinger to now being used by Varys? What's the point? What can she offer Aegon that would be better than what Arianne is about to offer him? "They'll be sister brides!" Neither one of them would go for that idea.. Sansa actually has a plot in her story, and Aegon doesn't fit into it.
"She's going to be dragged back to KL to have a final showdown with Cersei!" She doesn't need a showdown with Cersei. Sansa doesn't even think about Cersei, and to me that's proof that she has no power over her.
I've also seen theories where both Arya and Sansa are/were on a path of turning into their Aunt Lysa. Apparently Arya has passed the test, but Sansa hasn't. The most bizarre thing I've ever heard tbh. Neither of these girls are, or were ever, in danger of becoming their Aunt Lysa. They share qualities with Ned and Cat. Lysa's journey was very different from these girls'. She became obsessed with the man who loved her sister, her father forced an abortion on her, she was married off to an old man that she didn't want to be with. She was used and groomed by the man she "loved". She raped LF. Are we really going to compare these girls to their Aunt Lysa? Their stories and actions don't match up at all. I'm not sure why this idea is even entertained.
People will come up with anything to keep her away from her own home. Sansa being "less of a Stark" and "less connected to Winterfell" has been a baseless argument for a long time now. Her narrative contradicts those claims. And as for her ending, I think she will end the story in an influential position. It would be cool if she ended as queen regnant, but I don't think it's super likely. I think it's more likely she'll be queen consort, queen regent (if Rickon lives), or the lady of a major house. Personally, I ship her with Willas Tyrell <3. But I don't think that's likely to happen as she'll probably choose to stay in Winterfell by the end of the series.
Hehe, I've actually been feeling very positive with TWOW release lately. I think it's closer than we think. I could be wrong though, and tbf I haven't been waiting an entire decade since I began reading the series very late. For now, I just daydream a happy ending. <3

Thelreads, MHA 286, Replies Part 2
1) “Neither do y'all know what’s actually in there, fighting them. If any of you knew you’d run away in fear, but there’s no running away.”- It’s a rock and a hard place situation, except both of them are walking incarnations of destruction, and both of them are moving closer together as time goes on…. 2) “WAIT WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIGARAKI PUTTING HIS HAND ON MIDORIYA WHAT NO NO NO NO ABSLOULTELY NOPE NOPE NOPE”- Actually, in this case we’re lucky, because it’s AFO putting Tomura’s hand on Izuku’s face, and his first order of business is to steal OFA before dusting Izuku, which gives our boy a second’s breathing room that others don’t have. 3) “OH THIS PLACE SEEMS FAMILIAR
OH GOD WE’RE ABOUT TO SEE SOME SHIT AREN’T WE
IS THIS GONNA BE A BATTLE IN THE MINDPLACE ARE WE GONNA PULL A STAN PINES”- Unfortunately, Izuku doesn’t have an ironclad defence built into his brain like an Iron plate or such, as evidenced by the crumbling jagged cracks you can see seeping into this place, originating from the presence of the mental fusion between Tomura and AFO. Just them being here is already starting to eat away at OFA’s defences, and once that goes, so too does Izuku. 4) “OH GOD THERE’S THEM
AND AFO SEEMS TO BE PUTTING SHIGARAKI DOWN
OH THIS IS NOT GONNA BE GOOD”- Putting him down by assimilating his mind into nothingness. Tomura always thought he’d be the big bad villain, was told by Garaki and AFO this would be the case, and it was technically correct….with the cravat that it was always going to be AFO in the driver’s seat once Tomura’s body was ready. 5) “OH GOD IT LOOKS LIKE HE’S GROWING OUT OF SHIGARAKI LIKE A PLANT, OR A FUNGUS”- The positioning also makes Tomura look like a literal ventriloquist’s dummy, underscoring how he’s becoming a puppet of AFO’s in body and mind.
(MHA ch 285)
6) “HE REALLY FUCKING TOOK OVER OH JESUS FUCK WE DIDN’T EVEN GOT TO SAY GOODBYE TO SHIGARAKI”- Well, Tomura’s not completely gone within, but it’s only a matter of time before the assimilation finishes….
7) “I RECOGNIZE THAT GLOVE
IT’S HER ISN’T IT???”- Izuku’s fought until his body and soul literally can’t stand up straight anymore. It’s about time the adults in his head pulled some weight of their own. 8) “IT’S HER
BUT NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, I’M NOT LIKING THAT WE’RE HAVING BOTH OF THEM HAVING A HAND PLACED ON THEIR HEADS AS AN OLDER SPIRIT TELLS THEM THAT THEY ARE THERE TO TAKE CARE OF THINGS
I’M REALLY NOT LIKING THIS”- It’s again a showcase in contrasts. AFO’s hand on Tomura is full of “bad Touch” (in all senses of the word) vibes, almost petting him, whilst keeping his face bowed towards the ground, so he can’t stand up straight, showing his oppression. Nana’s hand is there as a support to Izuku, to let him know that he doesn’t need to keep trying to do it all himself and to just rest back for a moment whilst they take over the fight, now it’s moved into a realm where the Vestiges can contribute. 9) “Midoriya can’t lose his quirk here, but I’m having a feeling that he won’t leave this fight unscathed. There will be a price to be paid for being that close to the Lord of Evil himself. He is staring into the abyss, and his face is close enough that the Abyss can reach him”- Say, do you remember how AFO seemed to somehow know things about Izuku, like when OFA was awakening to the dormant Quirks of the past holders?
Tumblr media
And do you recall how, in Harry Potter, it was revealed that Harry was actually an unknowing Horcrux to lord Voldemort himself, giving the latter the ability to mentally influence him in book 5, in order to serve his will? And how the wills of the past holders are similarly capable of controlling Izuku’s body if his own will is overridden?
Tumblr media
I’m not saying that the Vestiges won’t be on guard against mental intrusion from AFO, but there’s a hell of a lot of overlap between the HP books and this whole “stealing my protégée’s soul to live forever” plot AFO’s cooked up, and that should be very concerning for Izuku…
10)
Tumblr media
On a related note, the reason Izuku's depicted as a cute sheep as his spirit animal is because of thier shared adorableness, but also, if given enough time to train/grow, a sheep can fully grow their horns in, and become extremely capable of messing you up with them, just like All Might the Ram with the grown horns is the strongest hero in the world, so it's to showcase how he's both cute and deceptivly dangerous at the same time. Aaaand, here's the chapter recap by Doodlelotl:

What are your thoughts on both fanon interpretations of Dumbledore ("Light Lord Wizarding Saint with 500IQ" alongside "Secretly Evil Puppet Master") and how they compare to canon Dumbledore?
Previous thoughts on Manipulative Dumbledore.
I mean, it's no great secret I'm on the Manipulative Dumbledore side of the house. I'm not as extreme as most, certainly don't follow most of the fanon interpretations, but I do think he's generally up to no good.
But alright, let's get to it.
Light Lord Wizarding Saint with 500IQ
Dumbledore is certainly one of the smarter characters in the series. He's constantly poking fun at other people in ways they don't get, generally has a good grasp on any given thing happening, and just runs circles around Harry in every single conversation they have.
(Though admittedly, some of Dumbledore's 10 step plans are laughably absurd and I can't believe they worked out for him. Let's just say Snape was working overtime.)
But Light Lord Wizarding Saint?
It's pretty bad when fandom has to justify to itself why Dumbledore can still be seen in this manner. We usually get explanations in any given fic on how Dumbledore could leave Harry with the Dursleys (he was shocked! shocked! by the fact that Harry was being abused and had no idea!) How Dumbledore planned for Harry to kill himself in book seven (he absolutely knew Harry would rise from the dead like Jesus and somehow beat Malfoy in a duel and get the Elder Wand that Snape accidentally didn't inherit!) Why Dumbledore placed the philosopher's stone as bait in a school with children and advertised that something was clearly in the basement to the entire school (Hogwarts is the safest place in the world!)
What it comes down to, I think, is the readers who read through and felt much like Harry. Dumbledore was this wise, good, authority figure we trusted. He was like Principal Gandalf! And the idea that he wasn't that, is sort of like setting your childhood dreams on fire.
Even admitting "alright, he made some questionable decisions, but he had no choice!" seems to be hard for this side of the equation. And I think it's a fear that Harry Potter will lose its magic if they look at it that way.
It's much the same in other fandoms.
Much of the Twilight world doesn't want to admit how thoroughly messed up Twilight truly is. Oh, they'll say Edward did bad things, but you see many fix it fics where his behavior is easily fixed with a stern talking to so now he doesn't sneak into her bedroom anymore. Claps for Edward.
MCU fandom will hold Stucky in its hands until hell freezes over, and the Russo brothers rise from the depths yet again with another movie "It's Really Not Stucky: Again". And even then, they won't let go.
It's not something unique to Harry Potter and I'm not shocked to see Dumbledore get this treatment.
Secretly Evil Puppet Master
The trouble with this one is people accuse Dumbledore of ridiculous shit that's too stupid for him to bother with.
No, he has no need to select Harry's friends for him and pay them off with Harry's stolen money. No, he has no need to steal Harry's money under his nose to fund his operations. No, he has no need to secretly brainwash Harry with dark magic to make him into a 'good puppet'. No, he doesn't secretly use dark magic in his basement and was EVIL THE WHOLE TIME!
He doesn't need to do any of that to achieve his goals.
He achieves them just fine in canon without resorting to such measures.
I also think the thing about Dumbledore is that he believes what he says and he believes he is who he says he is. He's driven by a very strong righteousness and a belief that all ends justify the means. He knows Voldemort is bad and must be stopped and therefore he's willing to justify quite a bit to do it.
But he's not hiding some dark persona, nor do I think he derives joy from manipulating others and working as puppet master in the shadows. These are just tools he employs to do what he believes must be done, it's just how he operates, his trouble is that he sees no other way to operate.

MUSE PLAYLIST. post   3  -  5   songs   that   remind   you   of   your   muse. repost,   don’t   reblog.
Don’t Go Into The Woods - Harley Poe
Don't go into the woods Don't let go of my hand I should've said Don't go into the woods Do you understand me I should've said Don't go in to unknown places Young girls vanish without traces I could not let that happen to you But if you leave me, no just maybe Strangers in the dark are waiting When you're gone there's nothing I can do
Froot - Marina (extended version)
Leave it too long I'll go rot Like an apple you forgot Birds and worms will come for me The cycle of life is complete I'm your carnal flower, I'm your bloody rose Pick my petals off and make my heart explode I'm your deadly nightshade, I'm your cherry tree You're my one true love, I'm your destiny
By autumn I’ll be gone, birds will sing their mourning song. Oh baby you know it’s true, I’ve been saving all my summers for you.
Someone New - Carolina Rose
Starting today I shed my skin Begin again Ruthless, cutthroat Breaking bread with evil men Next time we meet you'll hardly recognize me A stranger with a face that you swear you'd seen
Broken Bones - Kaleo
Some might say I talk loud, see if I care Unlike them, don't walk away from my fear I've busted bones, broken stones, looked the devil in the eye I hope he's going to break these chains, oh yeah
Oh, the devil's going to make me a free man The devil's going to set me free
Cult of Dionysus - The Orion Experience
So let's make a decision, start a new religion Yeah, we're gonna build a temple to our love Orgiastic dances, nymphs in trances Yeah, we'll be the envy of the gods above I'm feeling devious You're looking glamorous Let's get mischievous And polyamorous Wine and women and wonderful vices Welcome to the cult of Dionysus
Puppet Loosely Strung - The Correspondents
Let me put myself in your shoes as a puppet loosely strung Around you they were so confused a faulty man could have so much fun, They read your smiles, nothing but teeth, looked at you with pity first, then disbelief
In the past you would have been seen as a family's disgrace Now they think you're putting on a brave face They might fear that one day they'll wear your shoes But you're the one who's laughing, you had nothing to lose
bonus funne song:
Rasputin - Boney M
"This man's just got to go", declared his enemies But the ladies begged, "don't you try to do it, please" No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms Though he was a brute, they just fell into his arms Then one night some men of higher standing Set a trap, they're not to blame "Come to visit us", they kept demanding And he really came Ra ra Rasputin Lover of the Russian queen They put some poison into his wine Ra ra Rasputin Russia's greatest love machine He drank it all and said, "I feel fine"

hey ignore that i like, spent multiple hours hunting down an active blog of yours, have you seen the new dhmis and opinions if so? -bill bill
Hello I know you said to ignore it but where were you looking for me? I'm genuinely Very Curious about that -- but anyway though,
Oh My God.
To be honest getting to watch all of it was entirely worth the Six Year Wait. I've seen a few people saying the pacing was awkward or whatever but honestly I think it was perfect. It was everything it needed to be.
[SPOILERS FOR DON'T HUG ME I'M SCARED AHEAD I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO A READ MORE ON MOBILE BUT YA'LL'VE BEEN WARNED. ALSO THIS POST IS JUST LIKE, REAL LONG. SORRY]
We got so much from it. I was NOT expecting the episodes to be twenty minute features and I did actually say when we started watching (my friend group had a lil watch party) "I wonder how they're going to fill that entire runtime?" But that did it so well. The decision to have the episodes expand the theme rather than just stay on one particular beat worked out so well and yet the episodes still stuck faithfully to the theme they were on and it was just, so well written.
I love that they've given Harry (I made a post about this the other day I'm being stubborn and still calling him Harry I don't CARE) so much more personality, like, they really built up to it in the YT series but they didn't get the chance to explore it as fully as I think most of us would have liked to see because the majority of it was in the last episode. The fact that he yells so often in the show is so fun and the parts where he gets annoyed about something trivial (like the fact he was looking forward to doing nothing or when he got jealous about not being dead) make me so happy like. He's a guy. He's a guy with thoughts and feelings he's REAL. The freakout when they were in the car and he so desperately wanted there to be something, anything else just like. Fucked me up. He knows it's not real and that life isn't meant to be like this and he needs out but it's the only life he HAS!!!
I loved the comedy in it! They've kept the brand of humour from the youtube series but it feels like, actually a little more unhinged in places?? Idk how to put into words ig, it feels different in a way that I can't really put my finger on. It's still very unexpected, but it's not as rooted in just. Violence and gore, I guess? Like it is but not in the same way. Idk. I don't know how to say it. The 'electric chair' joke made my partner LOSE IT and my friend group keeps saying "OK, Stop." at every comment that could be taken as even a SLIGHT insult. I think one of my favourite ones was the bit where Stain starts existing and Yellow goes "eurgh, claymation" sbdjfj
The plot overall was just. Encapsulating. They've kept the elements of mystery that made it work the first time around and turned it up to eleven. We were SCREAMING at the scene with the shredder. I'm begging they get a second season because you can't just do that and leave it there forever. That would be so much.
One thing in particular that I found interesting in episode 6 (aside from, y'know, everything) was the part where Yellow can see the puppeteers and they're dressed like the background. I mean obviously the implication is that they're always there but does that mean that the teachers are entirely just fabricated by someone? Again I mean the obvious answer is yes, by possibly Lesley, maybe even someone higher than her, but. Y'know. Why are they there???? Are the puppeteers aware they're in a show or is Lesley (or someone else) forcing them to do this as well?????? They saw that Yellow was looking. They know he knows. FOR THAT MATTER, the fact nobody ever noticed the staircase in the kitchen until Yellow gained higher consciousness and was able to see the kitchen from a different camera angle is genius. They've never seen the stairs because it's usually in the missing wall for the camera. Of course they haven't. That's their fourth wall.
OOH OOH OOH something ELSE I found interesting is how the train guy had Lesley's name written on him. When I first noticed that I assumed it was his name. I'm thinking about rewatching to see if the name pops up anywhere else and I just didn't notice it. She's such an intriguing character -- the idea being that she's. Essentially their god. She did all of this. At least the main cast. We're shown there's a floor even further than hers, and it blends in with the wall. The fact it opens on it's own would say to me that she knows it's there, but what if she doesn't?? Who's above her?? Did something create her in order for her to create them?? I NEED to see up there. I HAVE TO. And anyway, why is Yellow one of her favourites - and why does she let so many bad things happen to him if that's the case? In fact, why does she let so many bad things happen at all? Is this all just for her amusement? Is she being manipulated by someone else to be that way?
There's not a doll of her in the dollhouse, because assumedly from her perspective she is the higher being and doesn't need replacing. There's something above her but she doesn't know that. There's also not dolls of the big and bigger boys, though, despite their room still being in the house after her and Yellow fix things. So did she not make them? She has to be aware they're there. She can't just think there's two completely uninhabitated rooms in the house. I'm fascinated. It's literally all I can think about.
So in summary -- yeah it was alright I guess.

Written for @drarrymicrofic prompt Blood. I intended to write only around 200 words but ended up with 536 words. Wonder if this is a bit too long to call it a microfic. Or should it be a drabble? This is the first time I wrote a microfic so I honestly don't know.
‐-----‐-----------------
"I hate you," Draco whispered, squeezing the knife. Harry bit his lips to stop himself from hissing because of the pain.
"You always act as if you're above me, as if I was just a fly that wasn't even worth chancing a glance," Draco continued in a monotone.
He pulled the knife out and stabbed at Harry's stomach again. This time, Harry couldn't help but let out a cry of agony. Draco didn't seem to notice though, his eyes unseeing while his hands going on with the motion. Harry wondered if Draco even see him right now.
"No matter what I do, you always beat me. Quidditch, duelling, fame... Everything."
Harry tried to breath, but his lung just refused to cooperate. His throat was on fire while his forehead wouldn't stop sweating.
"I try to humiliate you, and yet it's always me who is humiliated."
Draco suddenly stopped as if a puppet with its strings cut off. His eyes moved to focus on Harry with an intensity that reminded Harry of a judge toward an accused right before announcing his sentence.
"You took away everything belongs to me. My parents, my friends, my house, my reputation. My life."
A laugh wrenched itself out of Harry's throat. It's ridiculous. It's not because of Harry that Draco lose those things. Draco was the one who threw his life away. Harry's sure Draco also knew it.
Draco slapped him. Harry just laughed louder. After a second, Draco started laughing as well. Until he stopped again.
"And you saved my life."
Draco leant in, hands cupping Harry's face. His expression was impossibly soft. Harry thought he saw Draco smiled, but he couldn't be sure because his vision had started fading.
"And I'm fucking in love with you."
Draco kissed him. Harry kissed him back, fiercely. Their tongues tangled with each other, dancing and fighting for dominance. Somehow, the iron-like taste of blood in his mouth only made Harry more wild. If only he hadn't been bleeding too much, maybe he would have had a semi-hard by now.
When they broke the kiss, Draco stared at him with his huge grey eyes, hands clutching Harry's shirt. His face was a picture of misery. Harry found himself like it.
"You know it only makes me hate you even more, right?"
Harry laughed, a short, sharp, out of breath laugh, and nodded.
"Love you, too." He said, putting all of the strength left in his body in his right hand to touch Draco's cheek.
His hand left a red streak on Draco's pale cheek. The contradiction between the two colors was so mesmerizing that Harry thought he could stare at it for hours. Not that he wouldn't stare at Draco's normal face for hours. Or days, or years. Decades even. That was, if he had had more time.
Draco covered Harry's hand with his own and smiled. A dark red line started running down from between Draco's closed lips. Draco's body finally gave up and he fell down on Harry. Harry dragged his arm around Draco's waist, holding him in an embrace.
The last thing on Harry's mind before the world blacked out was in that moment, his Draco looked like an angel.

Westworld Season 4 spoilery thoughts
So finished Westworld season 4 recently. Overall, this was definitely a strong season. Definitely a step up from season 3, which I didn't hate, but definitely looks like the step child when I look at it in context of the 4 seasons so far. It almost seems like season 3 was its own separate storyline whereas seasons 1, 2, and now 4 seem more thematically interlinked. I thought the season started out super strong. Maeve and Caleb made for a very interesting pairing and I frankly thought they had way more chemistry than Dolores and Caleb did last year. Also, Caleb felt more like a independent character, rather than Dolores' sidekick. Ed Harris was back in a substantial role and clearly was having a lot of fun after having been wasted in season 3. Hale was a pretty delicious villain. Also, the whole Christina and Teddy angle seemed interesting. ERW has been terrific throughout this show and it was nice to see her play someone a little more vulnerable. Plus, it was really nice to see James Marsden and ERW reunite because they clearly have great chemistry.
I think the midway time jump and twist was really interesting. The fact that the whole world was inverted now with the humans being the puppets and the hosts being the puppeteers. However, I do think after the time jump, things became a little uneven. Thandie Newton is always an mvp of the show, but she gets sidelined significantly in the 2nd half and she even dies twice, which seemed quite pointless because she doesn't exactly accomplish much. Caleb becoming a host also loses the show one of the few remaining human characters. Plus, there does seem to be a lack of purpose to Caleb's existence in the back half of the season. Also, while there is certainly more Bernard this season than last, the show didn't really use Jeffrey Wright's skills in the best way once he became all knowing god. He has some amount of dry humor due to his weariness at everything, but he's capable of more and has shown this in seasons past.
There are things about this season that I just don't quite get. Hale keeps talking about their kind transcending from their physical form. But the show never really tells us what that means. I initially thought she meant going into the sublime, but it is confirmed that the sublime is shut to her. So that part I didn't get. She also later said that she wanted to create a world where the hosts of the sublime may want to come back, but she also said her goal is to transcend the real world. So its all sorts of confusing what her end goal was. Also, we only ever see one city and one tower. Is that all the remaining human population of the world, minus the outliers. That's also confusing because that is what is indicated by the end. The season has a bit of a downer ending by saying that the real world is beyond saving but again I don't quite get what the end is supposed to be representing. How can humans survive in a digital world when the experiment to make humans into hosts failed the fidelity test. We also never really get a proper understanding of what the host MIB is. He is built from Dolores/Hale programming, but he is an imitation of the real one. There are a ton of unanswered questions for me at least. Maybe some have been answered and I just didn't get it.
In any case, I enjoyed season 4 a lot. The performances across the board were terrific. Ed Harris, Tessa Thompson, Thandie Newton, ERW being standouts. It does seem that we said goodbye to Jeffrey Wright, Aaron Paul, Ed Harris, and Tessa Thompson based on the finale, but you never know with Westworld. Thandie Newton's character died but I seriously doubt they will kill her off just like that. It will be a damn shame if the show is cancelled just one season before the finish line. There is no doubt that there is some amount of frustration in the way the show poses questions but doesn't provide answers but I guess that is also why the show is addictive.

Beyblade 30 Day Challenge - Day 7
Question - A character you didn't like at first but do now?
Metal Saga answer: Masamune Kadoya. Originally I saw him as just plain annoying and really rather obnoxious. Eventually I came to not only adore his entire development in Metal Masters and the way his old best friend trio thing with Zeo and Toby was a core part of the obnoxious "number 1" habit, but also genuinely admire him for how much he grew from when he battled and got his ass whooped by Gingka to when he battled and got his ass whooped by Faust where it was already clear how much he valued putting the effort in and earning one's way into where they are. Frankly, he should have been one of the legendary bladers. Not that Chris shouldn't have been, I'd have Masamune become one in the Destroyer Dome tournament to defeat that snobbish bookworm Jigsaw. The battle against Nile, their rivalry spawned from Nile taking a disliking to Masamune trying to nab the spotlight, his despair afterwards having put so much pressure on himself only to lose easily, and him saying how he absolutely had to be the best (and that "doomed to fail from the start!" speech from Nile) was a key moment in that and was when my opinion of him changed really, after his now-too-large-to-contain ego was ground into dust. The aftereffects were well shown when Demure had Tsubasa on puppet strings and in the same position he himself was in two battles earlier. When he realised that he was never going to be able to defeat Nile on his own and veered off to drag Gingka away from his own battle with Kyoya, also risking Kyoya's wrath, and making Hagane realise that they can make it a genuine team battle. Cue Kyoya sacrificing himself to give Nile the time to send him, Gingka and Masamune flying, but Leone couldn't hold on as the spin track and performance tip cracked at near-breaking point allowing Striker to slam into an unprepared Horuseus to win and send GanGan Galaxy on to a match with the mighty Excalibur. Then you have the battle against Klaus which is one of my favourites outright while showing Kadoya accepting defeat to the limit breaking monster who himself was truly proud to have been able to win.
Faust: But... why? You have no chance of winning this. So why do you not just give it up? Why do you bother to keep on trying?! | Kadoya: Because a real blader never gives up. | Faust: Hn! | Kadoya: If you give up, then it's all over. It's true, I lost more than once during the Beyblade World Championships. But each time I did, I gritted my teeth and got back up. It's what's made me who I am today. It's how I can keep on trying my best. It's because of what you yourself taught me, hard work is something that will never let you down! | Faust: W-what are you saying I taught you? | Kadoya: I always rush forward without thinking of the future, of the consequences. Zeo was confused by that too I know. But Toby, it's because I believed in your words and kept on trying that I was able to win in the World Championships! | *Striker attacks Tempo.* | Faust: Ah... | *Flashbacks of Masamune's battles (and defeats) to Chao, Nile and Klaus* | Kadoya: Through battle, I was able to bond with other bladers, heart to heart, and learn from their competitive spirits... and that was all thanks to you Toby. | Abyss: Masamune... | *Striker actually budges Tempo from the centre a tiny bit.* | Faust: Huh?!
Burst answer: Lain Valhalla. Seemed like Sir Shouting of Plot Armour at first especially after he beat Free handily out of seemingly nowhere, though as the season went on it was getting obvious to me at least that the others were getting wise to Lain's battling. Aiger scored a ring out finish on him and Valt smashed through the supposedly impenetrable barrier in one shot (though that was just as out of nowhere as Aiger, the world champion, had tried a lot harder and yet still technically failed). Never mind, Lain just pulled a new move out of Harry's hiding spot in his jacket's neck fur. So I was pretty happy to see Spryzen burst Lucius and send Lain flyng into the wall. Perhaps it was justified that Lain could do so well, he is a natural prodigy and was taught strategy, analysis and technique by Shu, so no wonder he's so good, but it didn't seem to have development behind it. Then Endbringer happened. For starters it is bloody awesome (the avatar/spirit is too), and in the Tag-Team Tournament Lain was no longer really dominating on his own as everyone had worked him out, rather it was clearly Shu pulling the strings and drawing Lain's power out to the fullest to the point where after watching Shu vs Valt, Lain could not tell what he was feeling while Shu spotted a new crimson flare finally break through the wall. Come the final against the Hizashi brothers, seeing Shu at the limit trying to hold Hyperion and Helios back prompted Lain to steer Lucius on a u-turn to help also revealing his true flare at that time. Spryzen nailed the final blow but Lucius was the one that set it up, a role reversal from the other matches. The third match was one of my favourites outright with Lain striving to show Shu, and everyone else, the best Flare in the world (he was right, it took both Hyperion & Helios to beat Lucius by a hair, and it still outlasted Helios by another hair). Prior to that after the first battle, Lain was confused as to why Shu went in before catching on to the fact that Shu was going to sacrifice himself so that Lain could win the match. That's what he thought. "No, so we could win!" Oh no, correction, so they could both win. He could only look away while being held by his shoulder. It was also revealed that Lain has never been able to put his faith in anyone, only Lucius, as he's never known anything else. Flashbacks to the mentor-student dynamic and Lain's loss to Shu rage through his mind as he becomes convinced that Shu really is willing to put his faith in his ability. Perhaps hinting that he felt Shu didn't believe in him until that moment where Kurenai effectively proved it by trying to entrust their battle to Valhalla. I'll admit, I almost sobbed during that. I mentioned before how things I can relate to personally get to me much more, well that moment where Lain realised that Shu has always believed in him was one of them. Plus his name (JP = Lean) and crimson Flare allow me to make I Love Lean, Let's All Love Lain and King Crimson jokes. He also reminds me of Damian Hart somehow.
Valhalla: Shu Kurenai... why did you...? *gasp* You were gonna let Spryzen take the full force of Twin Break Impact... | Kurenai: That's right. | Valhalla: A-ah... just so... I could win the match... | Kurenai: No, so we could win! | Valhalla: *gasp!* *looks away* | Valhalla: This whole time, I've only ever put my faith in Lucius. It was all I knew. | *Flashbacks to Lain studying under Shu and Shu extending his hand out to Lain after World Spryzen burst Vex Lucius* | But I can see now. You always... believed in... | Kurenai: *nods.* I want to see the brightest Flare possible. Now show it to me! | Valhalla: *gasp* Hmm!

Interesting reading about the current career paths. 20 years from now I’m sure Louis, Zayn and Niall will all be proud of their musical accomplishments, and will have diversified enough to continue to have purpose and meaning in their life. I sincerely fear for Liam. And I wouldn’t be surprised that once Harry really loses his looks/hair in the next couple of years that his trajectory will be downhill fast. Mentally and emotionally he can’t be in a good place, knowing he didn’t earn anything, and that he’s been nothing more than a puppet for the greedy music industry. Not to mention what the absolute public humiliation of him as an actor must’ve done to someone who has only been coddled.
Louis, Niall and Zayn are hard workers from what I can see they love their jobs and just want to make music I do think 20 years from now they will have fanbases that are fans of them for their music and they will be remembered for those things.
I wonder if Liam will continue to make music or if he’ll choose something else he’s still a celebrity after all and no matter what that opens up doors for you but I agree while I don’t like the man he is talented at singing. He’s not well and is clearly working through some stuff.
As for Harry while yes I agree he’s not really worked for what he has accomplished all that much the man is probably worth close to $250 Million atp I don’t think he cares he’s happy selling his $135 tiny perfume bottles along with his nail polish and other things, the man doesn’t care when you get that rich people don’t care how it happened they just know you’re rich and I’m sure Harry is happy with that. But I do agree there’s only so much dancing and flancing around in ‘camp’ outfits that people and even Harry can take, and well he’s already had some work done in terms of Botox to slow down his ageing and he’s apparently shaved his head recently as rumours say 😭 so he’s probably going to come back with hair implants likely and his fans will act like his hair never receded in the first place.
At the end of it all though while I don’t mind talking about the 1D boys, I don’t really care for the other boys or their careers I only care about Louis and how his career is going and will be in the future.

2005
January was alright, Mel and Harry were exhausted but not in an unbearable way, and the twins were fat, beautiful, and full of energy. Reason why Mel had to hire a babysitter to look after them, because her mum couldn't do it, Remus and Tonks couldn't do it, Anne and Erick definitely couldn't... but she didn't want to hire a stranger.
"What if I just take them with me to the ministry?"
"I don't think your department's the best place for babies, love."
"Well, the Aurors' department isn't good either!"
"I know, that's why I didn't offer to take them there."
The young woman groaned, rubbing her eyes wearily. "Then what do you suggest we do, Glasses?"
Harry had one baby on each arm, both of them fast asleep. He shrugged lightly. Mel scowled at him, she took James carefully and placed him on his cradle, then she did the same with Emmeline.
"I have no one," Mel pouted, voice cracking under the stress. "All of our friends work, and I won't leave the twins with a stranger, I refuse to."
"Yeah well, considering our story with strangers, I wouldn't trust anyone I don't know to even look after Hedwig and Grey."
"Then what do we do?" Mel asked again, eyes teary.
Harry wrapped one arm around her and kissed her temple, deep in thought. "...there is something we can do."
Mel looked up at him, suppressing a yawn. "Yes?"
Harry rubbed his neck, yawning right after her. "W-We can... use my office? To work? You know, two days of home office, two days in the Ministry—the fifth day we can take turns to see who goes and who stays here?"
Mel hummed. "Let's talk it out with our supervisors."
Tumblr media
It was Mel's first day back at the Ministry, and as expected, there were a suspicious amount of acquaintances running into her throughout the day. Rita found a way to sneak up on her at the last hour of the day, but Mel turned into a Fenix and went out of the Ministry on Hermione's shoulder.
The system was working between her and Harry, and even if it was tiring, they knew it wouldn't be forever. There was a new worry on Mel's mind, however, after the first time Emmeline made the flowers of the tapestry bloom out of the wall.
Emmeline was a Dumbledore girl. She'd already been faster than James at showing signs of magical power, and every time Mel found the girl staring up at her with those unnerving blue eyes, a wave of anxiety would hit her.
That was the moment she decided to draft her next big project: treatment for Obscurials. She would not have her daughter go through what Ariana and she had to go through. If, for some reason, Emmeline started to have bursts of magic, Mel would make sure her daughter would not live wondering if she was going to lose her mind.
Although Mel was hoping her daughter was destined for an uneventful, sweet life, she needed to make sure, just in case.
"Obscurial children," Mr Greengrass gave her a knowing look. "Should've known this would be your next idea."
"Is that a yes, sir?" Mel asked hopefully.
The man sat back, scratching his beard. "Well, this one is clearly in the early stages of research, not even a hypothesis, just a vision... but if there is anyone that could take this idea and turn it into something extraordinary and revolutionary, that's you."
Mel smiled. "And I promise to give it my best."
The man nodded vaguely. "I suppose Mr Flint is bound to be chosen as your partner in this adventure?"
Her smile widened. "Is there really anyone more adept for the job than he?"
Tumblr media
"Hello, Dad, are you joining us for dinner?" Mel stood little James on Harry's desk, the baby's blue eyes were bright with amusement and he laughed while his mother puppeteered him on his father's desk. "Mum misses you very much and she's ruining the mood."
Harry chuckled, pushing his glasses up as he rubbed his eyes tiredly. "Yeah—sorry, got distracted."
"We made a deal to stop working after six here—it's seven thirty," Mel replied, now in her normal voice. "C'mon, I know it's important, but if you're not careful you'll miss out."
Harry nodded, getting up and lifting James from the desk, kissing his forehead. "I know, I know... I'm done working for today." James tried to reach for his dad's glasses, but Harry pulled him away already used to the baby's actions. "Where's Emmie?"
"Already asleep," Mel started to walk out of the office with Harry closely following her. "She's so complacent, and James's starting to worry me, he's a bit too much like his grandad, you know? And I'm not talking about my Dad."
"Ah!" James exclaimed happily, trying to reach for Harry's beard.
Harry chortled. "You worry over nothing," he replied, going through the hallway in the direction of their dining room. "My dad wasn't so terrible, he was just a little dramatic—which you know, it's something I had to stand my whole life, being around you."
"Dah!" James said again, clasping his hand around Harry's shirt.
Mel poked her husband's ribs playfully. "Hush. I'm not talking about the dramatics, I'm talking about his inclination to ignore rules, and pranking people— and you think that's funny now," she looked at James and talked directly to him. "But let's see what Dad thinks after you set the cat on fire, huh?"
"Dad!" James squealed.
Mel and Harry gasped at the same time, the young man lifted the baby and faced him with wide eyes. "Am I hallucinating?"
"No."
"Did James just say 'Dad'?"
"Dad!" The baby giggled in joy, his chubby arms reaching, trying to touch Harry's face.
Mel had to cover her mouth to not wake up Emmeline with her excitement. "James just said Dad!"
"Jamie!" Harry beamed. "You're so smart!"
James Sirius was delighted by the reaction he got from his parents, his eyes were much smarter than those of other' ten-months-old babies, not like he understood, but like a discovery, his face lit up as if saying "Oh, so this is what you want from me!"
"Dad!" He said again, and his parents melted around him just like before.
Mel was right, he was a lot like Harry's father—and just as clever as hers.
Tumblr media
It was normal to spot celebrities during the Quidditch World Cup, everyone was used to it. However, that day was the first time the Potter-Dumbledore family went out in public.
Although spotting them was no easy job. They're surrounded by Weasleys, Flints, Sultens and Lupins. A total of at least thirty people, all walking towards the VIP section of the stadium.
Harry Potter was carrying a little boy in his arms: James Sirius had light-brown hair and blue eyes like his grandad. Meanwhile, Mel had Emmeline Kendra firmly held against her chest: Dark-brown hair and blue eyes, but she's got her grandmother's mischievous grin.
Leon Regulus walked next to his sister with a firm and confident step, he got the reddish colour of his mother's hair, but his features are all Sirius. Seven-year-old Teddy Lupin followed, but he struggled to keep up, he stumbled over his own feet constantly and his hair couldn't stop changing colours.
Emily Flint had her sister's hand on hers as she obediently followed her mother to the stands, she got her father's looks, but there was a dreamy air in her gaze. Little Elizabeth was talking to her nonstop, her brown curls bouncing as she ran in order to keep up with her sister.
People whispered around them, Regulus noticed right away and nudged his sister's hip. "They're all staring," he pointed out. "Is this the first time you go out?"
Mel merely sighed. "Well, the twins can't stay hidden forever."
Regulus nodded absently, he paused for a second, then blurted out: "Do they know you're preg—"
Mel's hand landed over his mouth, they were surrounded by thousands of different conversations, and she doubted anyone outside their group had heard a thing. "No," she moved away from her brother. "Don't go saying that out loud, you know we want to keep it to ourselves!"
"Well, how much longer can it stay a secret?" He replied defensively. "You're already starting to show it!"
"That's the reason why I'm wearing a robe instead of muggle clothing," she winked. "I know we're not supposed to do that... but people never dared to ask me to follow the rules ever since the war."
Regulus's insides churned with curiosity, he looked around again and noticed people whispering, some of them even pointed at him. "Mel... how famous are we?"
"What?"
"What did you do for all these people to get excited about us being here?"
"You know already," Mel frowned. "Mum told you, didn't she?"
"She didn't tell me the whole story. I know she didn't. She thought I'd get scared, but I won't, I promise."
Mel felt uneasy at his words. Of course, he was going to ask about the war at some point, everything in his life had been hugely affected by it. It wasn't only her story, it was part of his too. Besides, Regulus had two years left before Hogwarts and Mel didn't want him to be in the dark the same way she had been for years, especially since most of his classmates would know the whole story anyway. Including the parts about Sirius.
"I'll tell you everything," she decided. "At home. Today we're here to support Ginny, you think you can forget about it for a night?"
"Don't ask me, ask them," he scowled, pointing at the strangers rather cynically.
Mel smiled. "I would, but it's impossible."
"Auntie Mel," Teddy approached her. "Can you convince Dad to let me sit next to Reg? I won't cause trouble..."
Teddy was a sweet kid, well-behaved most of the time. Unfortunately for him, though, he was as clumsy as his mother and tended to injure himself way too often when left unsupervised.
"I'll look after him," Regulus was quick to add. "Please, Mel?"
The two boys grabbed the edge of her robes and pleaded all the way to the stands, Harry noticed. "What are you two doing? Don't play rough with Mel!"
"Calm down, Glasses, I'm carrying a baby, not made of porcelain," she grinned. "They want to sit together," she explained.
Harry raised a brow. "Do you have a death wish, Ted?"
"I'm a big kid, I don't have to sit next to my mum!"
"I reckon that sentence would hurt your mum's feelings."
"Don't tease him," Mel nudged his side. "Talk to Remus, can you?"
"I can't promise I'll be helpful," he shifted James a little on his arms. "Be right back..."
"You boys better keep your promise," she warned them.
"We will!" Regulus put an arm around Teddy's shoulders. "No accidents today, I'll give you my word!"

Twenty minutes into the game Mel changed seats to be next to her mother, the woman looked briefly at her and turned back to the game, then froze, and turned to face her fully.
"You have the Dumbledore look on your face," her mother scowled. "What is it?"
"I think it's time we talk to my brother," Mel said quietly. "He's old enough, Mum. He's really smart as well, he'll understand it."
Emily's gaze grew worried, she looked back at the field and started to fidget nervously. "Mel... he's so young..."
"He'll go to Hogwarts soon," Mel reminded her. "And whether you want it or not, Reggie's going to hear stories, about all of us and Sirius. Don't you think it's better if he hears them from us first?"
"Exactly how much do you want to tell him?"
"Everything," she said. "The Philosopher's stone, the Chamber— Merlin, we even got an award for that one! He'll see the pictures, the teachers will talk... history books have our names on them—"
"Oh, very well," Emily made a face. "But if he gets ideas thanks to this, it'll be your job to persuade him out of them, d'you understand?"
Mel grinned. "Sure, I've got plenty of practice."
Tumblr media
Six hours later, when the game was over and the family was leaving the stadium, Ron spotted a familiar face.
"Oi, isn't that Malfoy?" He nudged Harry's arm.
Mel stopped right next to Hermione, the group stood there and watched as Malfoy, who'd heard Ron's voice, also came to a halt and turned to look at them. Astoria Greengrass— no, Malfoy— was holding onto his arm, and she was very pregnant.
For a second none of them knew how to act, then Draco cleared his throat and spoke to them.
"Evening."
It didn't sound polite, more like saying something to prove he could, and he stared at them in a challenging manner, but only Ron was returning his glare.
"Evening," Hermione retorted gracefully. "It's nice to see you... Astoria..."
"Hi, guys," she smiled at them a little shyly. It'd been a while since they'd last seen her, it was understandable, her husband didn't like them. "You twins are adorable, Mel."
She hugged Emmeline closer. "Thank you. Congrats to you too."
"Oh, thanks!" The woman placed a hand over her belly. "He's bound to be born in about three months..."
"Good luck," Mel smiled. "If... if you need anything, let us know."
Ron and Draco both turned to look at her with annoyance, but the latter quickly recovered.
"It's getting late," he told his wife.
"Yes," Astoria looked at them one last time, smiling briefly. "See you..."
"Bye," the four of them responded.
"Well, that was lovely," Ron joked.
"Did you mean that?" Harry asked her.
"Of course!" Mel frowned. "Why wouldn't I? She's a friend, it's not my business if she decided to marry Malfoy, is it?"
"Well yeah, but offering your friendship is offering the same to him," Ron made a face of disgust. "Do you really want that?"
Mel shrugged. "Look at how people glare at him compared to how they beam at us. Maybe if we show the world we don't resent him, they'll let him be. He's about to become a father, his son doesn't deserve that, does he?"
"We'll see," Ron groaned.
Mel rolled her eyes, she decided to drop the argument.
Tumblr media
Mel left the twins with Harry and visited her brother. She was going to stay the night— or a whole day if she needed to, the story was long enough for an entire weekend, but she'd try to be brief.
"Well, Paddie," she sat on the bed, crossing her legs and facing her brother. "What d'you want to know?"
"Everything," He said, hands pulling on the loose strands of his quilt. "From where it really started."
"What started?"
"Everything," he repeated plainly. "How our parents met, your dad and my dad, and mum... why did she pick yours first?"
Mel gave him a Dumbledore smile. "What you need to know, is that stories tend to be told like they were made for the people in them," she sighed. "That's not how life works. The world is much more complicated..."

COVID-19 TRICK OR TREAT
Covid-19 has been an invisible monster with no certainty of where or when it will attack. The virus left a trace wherever it made contact and took the lives of rich and poor, old and young, it wasn’t discriminating. It left families in terror of the unknown, separated one from their loved ones, and caused children lose out on school as it implemented that everyone should stay indoors for safety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was in 2020 March, when this alien invaded my life, and it was an extreme change that screamed for my outmost attention. Life was difficult back then, I had just got into varsity and trying to adjust to the life there, and this alien decided it was time it introduced itself without an invite and leave me no choice but to adhere to it. As much as it was invisible but it actions were visible and had a lot of us living in fear. People were losing their lives, left, right, and centre; jobs were lost; and a lot was lost which can’t be regained. Rules and regulations were introduced and without any choice, everyone was expected to obey. And life has never been the same since then.
Tumblr media
DOWHILL OF MY MENTAL HEALTH
Mental health encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It influences cognition, perception, and behaviour. It also determines how an individual handles stress, interpersonal relationships, and decision-making. Mental health includes subjective well-being, perceived self-efficacy, autonomy, competence, intergenerational dependence, and self-actualization of one's intellectual and emotional potential, among others. From the perspectives of positive psychology or holism, mental health may include an individual's ability to enjoy life and to create a balance between life activities and efforts to achieve psychological resilience. Cultural differences, subjective assessments, and competing professional theories all affect how one defines "mental health" (https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=a86269e5e696fde9JmltdHM9MTY2MjE2MzIwMCZpZ3VpZD0yN2NiMGU3NS1lZmE0LTYxYjItMTM0Yy0xZTkxZWVkYzYwZjYmaW5zaWQ9NTU2NA&ptn=3&hsh=3&fclid=27cb0e75-efa4-61b2-134c-1e91eedc60f6&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly9lbi53aWtpcGVkaWEub3JnL3dpa2kvTWVudGFsX2hlYWx0aA&ntb=1).
In March 2020, we unexpectedly were told to leave varsity residences and go home which is where my mental health went downhill. I am not a person who can easily adjust to change as it causes me anxiety at first but what choice did I have? Little did I know it was only the beginning of a turmoil which was there to live scars that cease to fade, ‘scar one for life’. The world felt like a jail where we were locked in and had no rights but were controlled as puppets; limited movements with soldiers to reprimand us. I started experiencing anxiety which later formed another long lost friend which was depression whom they worked together with an aim only to destroy every little confidence, self-esteem and positive mindset in me, only to replace it with fear.  The occupational imbalance in my life made my life unbearable, ‘a living hell’. Due to covid-19, we had to do online learning which was also a challenge to me. Technology has always been my weakness, but external factors also made it worse to cope with the online learning (network/connectivity and load-shedding) but in due time one had to make means of balancing everything as the onus lied upon me to do so.
“Slow, deep breathing is important… It’s like an anchor in the midst of an emotional storm: the anchor won’t get rid of the storm, but it will hold you steady until it passes.” ~Russ Harris, 2008
As bad as this experience was on my mental health, I gained new skills (technology and coping skills). I learned how to prioritize and value some things in life as change is unpredictable, and I should use the time to do the utmost best that I can.
"Every rose has its thorn"
Well, since the Covid-19 rules and regulations have been dropped (not entirely), I feel a bit of freedom. Things aren’t the same as they were before covid-19 though, due to living for quite a long period with restrictions, now it’s hard to let out my wings and fly out freely. As much as we try, I doubt things will ever be normal again. But a wise man once said, “There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t”, (John Green, 2019) thus I will hold on to the hope that maybe one day we’ll recover from the traumatic experience we got exposed to. After all, healing doesn't happen overnight, it is a journey that requires patience.

Wait a damn minute….I just saw someone on tiktok talk about a darker version of the Marauders and I smell a serve. Morally grey, but actually morally grey Marauders who tell Dumbledore to fuck off and go about the war their own way to take down the death eaters. Think Six of Crows. Morally grey band of found family friends who do questionable things BUT are still fighting for the right side. And it would work out because with Dumbledore, he’s giving the orders and playing puppet master. But a story about the Marauder’s cutting the strings and going dark yet remaining on the good side of the war? James Potter unleashing the bullying and cruel streak and using it on death eaters and people affiliated with Voldemort. Sirius Black giving into that dark side of himself that sent Snape to the whomping willow and having no qualms about killing death eaters. A Sirius Black that uses every lesson, every skill, every damn thing that he learned from the House of Black to take down the death eaters. Remus Lupin letting his inner werewolf out and refusing to suppress it any longer. No more quiet good boy. If the world wants to treat him like a monster, then that’s what he’ll be but at least he’ll direct it at taking down Voldemort. Lily Evans who will take down anyone who gets in her way of stopping Voldemort. And you know what sparked his decision? All of them going dark? It started with Dorcas being murdered at the hands of Voldemort. They spent weeks in anguish, angry and sad at losing their close friend. But it was Marlene’s death two weeks later that was the final straw. Because they all came to the same realization. Voldemort wasn’t playing by the rules. He had no morals. There was no line that him and his death eaters wouldn’t cross. But the order had lines. They had rules and morals and a code to do no harm. But how were they supposed to win a war when they’ve been fighting with one hand tied behind their backs against an opponent who had no care for rules? So they made hard choices. The hardest of the choices? Leaving Harry behind. James and Lily decided that they couldn’t fight and win a war while worrying about a baby. And they refused to let their child be raised in the world Voldemort was making. They gathered their parents and explained what was going to happen. They hated it but it was the only way. Harry would stay with Fleamont and Euphemia for two weeks and then switch off with the Evans’ and then back again. Lily and James couldn’t risk their parents and Harry being targeted so they used the Fidelius charm. Twice. Euphemia became the secret keeper to the location of the Evan’s and Mrs. Evans became the secret keeper for the location of the Potter’s. The day Lily and James said goodbye to Harry and their parents was the hardest of their lives. Lily dropped to the ground sobbing the moment the Fidelius charm was in place and she no longer knew where Harry, her parents, or the Potters were. She knew it was only temporary until the war was won but it still hurt. That was the last day she ever cried.
Lily was the one to take Dumbledore down when they all decided to officially quit the Order and do their own thing. Because knowing Dumbledore, if he couldn’t control them, he’d take them out of the game. Permanently. They met him in his office at Hogwarts and said their piece. As they were leaving, he reached for his wand and was knocked to the ground by Lily who fired off a stupefy quicker than he could see it. As he started to get up and reach for his wand, Lily hit him with another stupefy. “Don’t get up. I like you Albus and I’d hate to use anything stronger than a stunner” Lily said in a bored tone as she walked over him to join the Marauders at the door of Dumbledore’s office. Dumbledore looked at her with pure hate in his face, indignant at being outsmarted and out hexed by his former student. “I’ll miss the kids you were” Dumbledore said snarling. James was the last one out the door. He gave Dumbledore a blank look and turned around. “Many will”, James said coldly over his shoulder. “They were easier to kill”.

So...Misery style, how would you make Tomione work? (Or how would you do a Tomione story?)
Thanks, Anon, this might be harder than the Dramione one.
Well, again, to please my deranged captor, I'd likely follow the plot of your standard Tomione fic and hope it passes muster. "Oh yeah, Hermione's back in time and she's doing back and forth mind games with Tom and it's really intellectual." With any luck, my feet aren't smashed into oblivion.
But I think you're trying to get at what I would really do if I really had to write Tom/Hermione and I had to make it something I would read. At least, that seems to be the spirit of this ask.
So, we're going the thriller route people. A lot like Misery, actually.
Instead of Ginny, twelve-year-old Hermione picks up the diary. Like Ginny, Hermione quickly becomes besotted with Tom Riddle trapped inside. However, unlike Ginny, Hermione goes straight to the library and starts asking pesky questions.
Hermione's never heard of memories stored in objects before, the theory behind portraits and pensieves are completely different, what spells did Tom use and where did he find them? Did Tom Riddle invent an entirely new branch of magic at the age of 16 without anyone noticing? What was Tom's special service to the school?
Tom starts sweating when it becomes clear that Hermione's stumbling a bit too close to the truth (that this is not ordinary magic and highly dangerous shit) and that she's clearly going to start asking around about Tom Riddle (to Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Hagrid, who were all near Hogwarts at the same time Tom was going to school).
Tom confesses that he may have created the diary using something very... illegal. Hermione is appalled and asks if it was gasp dark magic! He admits it is but points out it's a bit late now, like it or not, he's stuck in the diary and running to Dumbledore isn't going to make that go away any time soon. And it wasn't like Tom asked to be shoved in a diary either.
Hermione's very conflicted, on the one hand, Tom's the first real intellectual friend she's ever had. Harry and Ron are nice, but they're morons and they thinks he's a nerd. Tom encourages her intellectual pursuits and confirms her concern over various what not and what have you happening in Hogwarts.
Eventually, Hermione decides that Tom in the diary can't help being a diary (though the other Tom, the real Tom, she'd have words with), and decides that she'll try to help him get a body.
Great, that's great, Tom says.
But it keeps getting worse.
Tom tries to possess Hermione, but unlike Ginny, Hermione knows that Tom is a dangerous, dark, artifact. If she's suffering negative health effects, losing her memory and ending up in the girl's lavatory, she's going to research this and decide that either a) she's suffering ill effects of using dark magic b) she just got possessed by Tom.
Either way, she tells him she can't use the diary anymore, it's affecting her health and she must research. Well, Hermione researching does Tom no fucking good, but he can't stop her.
The Chamber of Secrets, as a result, is never opened.
Instead, Hermione continues researching, and Harry and Ron... begin to get on her nerves. It's not like last year, there's no Flamel to research, no over-arching mystery, and they seem to be growing tired of her. In turn, Hermione's getting a little tired of quidditch, getting detention, etc.
She's a little tired of Hogwarts, if she's being honest with herself.
Hermione's now had a taste of having a friend who isn't there to simply use her brains. And it's very addicting. She decides not to tell Ron and Harry about Tom, they'd just get needlessly concerned (the irony of this isn't lost on her but what can you do)
In the end, she opens back up the diary, and point blank asks what Tom needs to get a body. Before Tom can tell her, Hermione lists out her own theories. Life cannot be created from nothing, golems and puppets cannot last in the long term, to get a real body... human sacrifice is on the table, isn't it?
Well shit, Tom thinks to himself. He tries to assure Hermione it isn't but ends up confessing that, well, yes, it kind of is.
They have another huge row about it, Hermione slams the diary shut, but the wheels in her brain are spinning.
Does anyone deserve to die?
Hermione, at first, adamantly tells herself the answer is no. No one deserves to be sacrificed. Tom's fate is cruel, but the original Tom made his bed and should lie in it. It's unfortunate, but that's just life. Not the diary's fault, of course, but nothing that can be helped.
But then she keeps thinking about it.
Malfoy struts through the school like a peacock, sneering every time he sees her, laughing every time Snape deducts points from her in Potions for being a 'smarmy know-it-all'. Every time he can get away with it he's shoving her in hallways, calling her a mudblood, and assuring her that she's worth less than the dirt beneath her feet.
She watches as Malfoy torments and bullies Harry, she looks at Draco's father, and she asks herself if the world would really be so much worse off if Draco Malfoy were to disappear?
Draco Malfoy's being groomed to use dark magic, he practically brags about it at every opportunity, why is his life worth more than Tom Riddle's, someone who has paid the price for dark magic?
Isn't Hermione, in a roundabout way, only giving Draco what he deserves? The fate he'd meet at some point in the not so distant future?
Draco does something phenomenally cruel and stupid to the trio, likely to Harry, and that settles it. Hermione's going to murder that motherfucker and get Tom Riddle a body.
Hermione tells Tom the plan, she's passing off the diary to Draco, she has her full blessing, her permission, and whatever help he requires from her to eat Draco Malfoy alive.
Tom is unwillingly impressed, he was a vicious gremlin as a twelve-year-old, but even he wasn't committing murder in cold blood.
Tom's not sure how he feels about murdering a Malfoy, that's bound to get noticed, but Hermione's unyielding. Draco Malfoy, or Hermione goes to Dumbledore.
So, Draco Malfoy it is.
The rest of the year is spent with Tom Riddle murdering Draco Malfoy and coming up with some excuse for his disappearance. The chamber isn't opened as Hermione reminds Tom that this would make it entirely too obvious who is behind this. Instead, Tom likely has Draco partake in increasingly erratic schemes to humiliate Harry Potter that end up endangering himself.
Near the end of school, Draco disappears into the Forbidden Forest to find acromantulas to put in Potter's bed and... never comes back.
A huge search is put on, Draco Malfoy is never found, and the acromantula infestation in the forest is now actively battled by ministry employees. Dumbledore is sacked as headmaster, Hagrid fired for having been responsible for the acromantulas in the first place, and Hogwarts is closed the following year.
Hermione is... conflicted about all of this. She certainly didn't mean to fire Hagrid (had no idea he was even remotely involved with the acromantulas) and certainly not Dumbledore. It wasn't Dumbledore's fault at all.
Tom, who is now a free man but has no idea what to do with himself, meets up with Hermione and points out that Dumbledore should have been sacked ages ago: he let kids get away with this stupidly dangerous shit and the year before actively endangered his students and lured a dark wizard into the castle. As for Hagrid, he raised a dragon illegally on school grounds, did release his pet acromantula into the wild, and more. They were terrible at their jobs.
Hermione, ever so reluctantly, agrees.
It's too bad though, Hagrid was very nice and Dumbledore's a great wizard (don't even get Tom started).
As for Tom, well, he had such dreams. Of course he planned to either meet up with his glorious self or (upon learning that Voldemort was blown up by a toddler) take the mantle of Voldemort for himself. But now that he's out, he has no idea where to start. Murder Harry Potter, certainly, but after that?
Tom only has the vaguest idea of who the original Death Eaters were, and they seem to have effectively scattered. More, how does he go about this? Sure, Tom had ideas when he was in school, but they were just ideas. He's never led a revolution before, has no idea how to impersonate an older, more knowledgeable, version of himself. He barely understands the political climate in this new, post-Voldemort, Britain.
Tom keeps hanging around Hermione because, well, inertia. He has no idea what else to do. (Hermione, while still torn over the consequences of her actions as well as the distant thought that she enabled murder, is quite delighted to have him around).
Tom tries to wheedle Harry's address out of Hermione and gets a lot more information than he bargained for. Harry lives with abusive muggle relatives, Dumbledore is apparently keeping him there, all of this sounds bizarre. Tom is officially weirded out.
Still wants to murder Harry, of course, but also wants to dig into this a little further...
And before this becomes a full on fic outline, eventually this will lead to the murder of Dumbledore, probably the murder of Ron when Ron inadvertently discovers 'the truth', Hermione telling Tom they're now an item, Tom trying to escape the relationship, only to learn there's no escaping Hermione.
Hermione becomes the next dark lord. Tom has no idea how this even happened.
