Sorry for the ramble in your inbox incoming- I'm a really huge fan of your analysis type posts like the ones about Cathal and recently Flint ;A; So I hope its ok to maybe throw in my own 2 cents about Cogs/their society- (Sorry this gets rambly I thought about this last night and writing this like an hour after waking up lol)

I think what alot of people kind of (I wouldnt say ignore- more of:) don't really get is that I dont believe characters like Cathal or Flint have bad tendencies because they really want to in a way, (I kind of worded that poorly but point is) but because their society rewards and encourages that type of behavior. I think you said something kind of similar on Cathals post- But especially for Flint, whose a Bossbot (Who are literally the embodiment of a toxic workplace and elitism. I believe a old snippet from the TTO magazines says "They have no real skills of their own, just the ability to push down others and stay on top!" Or something to that nature.) he has to be demanding and imposing. There is no benefit to him in being kind. (Like looking at Misty for example) And don't get me wrong I don't believe that if Flint and Cathal were removed from Cog society they'd be better/objectively nicer (Like Flint not being condescending to Toons and Cathal not making people do things for him and being encouraged to try) But I do wonder how much of it is pressure, or how much of it is egged on and rewarded. Atleast in the aspects it relates to how they treat others.

(..And also I wonder what happens to Cogs that don't get jobs and are seen as ..not functioning. Since Graham was freaking the hell out in "Meeting Of Two Minds" over the possibility of not getting the job. I have a whole thing about this actually in my oc lore but thats another thing entirely I'll write about someday I swear)

Also I gasped when I saw the doodle of Graham in the MSI shirt finally a MSI listener Graham truther. I think he'd like the album "How I Learned To" and of course "You'll Rebel To Anything". I associate him mainly with the songs "Lights Out", "On It", and "You're No Fun Anymore" :p (This has been my favorite band since I was like 13 and now I get to spill all my opinions xD) I always imagined him doing the guitar backbend their bassist does! And my final hc is that Flint plays bass and Graham plays the main guitar. I think it fits them .. some people overlook bass when its actually pretty hard to learn from what I hear and vital to the song. (Like heres Feel Good Inc w/o the bass.. feels wrong x_x)

THe biggest issue with Cogs Inc is that it REWARDS and ENCOURAGES these poor behaviors, worsening these characters as people. ESPECIALLY cathal considering the position of power they’re in. I’m sure it applies to a ton of other cogs too, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten to them yet bc I’m not as insane abt them . LMAO

And yeah since cogs are literally built for work, it’s a wonder what happens to those who can’t find a job as easily as others. Hoping that gets built on since it’s clear in MOTM that these cogs have to actually apply and go to interviews and probably face some trial and error to land a job, just like people IRL.

ALSO. THE BAND HCS. I love it and you’re SOOOO RIGHT about the backbend that is so grahamcore. And yes I’m pretty sure Flint does play bass, I think his creator mailman said smth abt that on their blog . AND IM SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT UP FEEL GOOD INC bc i did draw flint in a demon days shirt in that same animatic . And ive def drawn them in the same shirt a couple times in the past too . I’ve always imagined him to be a Gorillaz fan, maybe graham too

Rahhhh okay so Im not sure if this has been asked before but Im really itching to know what brush you use for lineart! And if you use a stylus/digital pen, which one? Id love to know dhdjskks Your art is so good and I love the lineart work 🫣

Sorry again for how long this took to answer. But ty! Tbh, my brush is the one single thing I'm kind of gate-keepy about in regards to my art, because it's a brush I kind of made myself (technically I modified an existing brush so much that it's basically a new brush). But it's really the cornerstone of my style, so I don't like to hand it out. I use the same brush for pretty much everything, other than the shading in the comic. For that I just use the pencil tool so I can do quick a quick fill bucket.

The top row is all the same brush at different sizes. I primarily use the first 2 for CoB, but you might see the other 3 in my regular artwork or impact panels of CoB.

Below are just some effect brushes I also use frequently, once again, mostly in my art and just impact shots of CoB (not the average panels). The splatters I did download.......somewhere... Many years ago... And the other two are just halftone brushes I made myself (the first one being my usual brush w/ a halftone texture applied).

You can usually find a combination of any of these in my finished art, unless I'm going for like...my clean anime style, which frankly I really don't enjoy doing outside of the comic:

I feel like they have a date night ever Saturday and once a month it’s something really fancy but usually it’s something sweet like a picnic at the park or a trip to some museum or aquarium or zoo

He’s not much of a talker and he LOVES just sitting there and listening to her info-dump.

When she gets worried she’s being annoying he just gently cups her head and softly kisses her on the nose and goes “nonsense.” 😭😭

They give each other kisses on their scars 😭

I think Abigail is a REALLY good artist (america has a vast and rich art AND MUSIC history and I hate that in canon America is showing to have no sense of artistic skills like you FOOL YOU UTTER BAFOON HIMA) so she just sketches him while he just sits there and reads or whatever

They gift each other flowers all the time!

Abigail was having a really bad day before a world meeting and when she walked into the meeting room there was just a huge bouquet of flowers waiting for her 😭🥺

They read to each other all the time! Usually the other will just rest their head on the others lap or lean into them while the other reads out loud. This started because Abigail has such a hard time sleeping usually and it helped lull her to sleep and then she started doing it for him.

wahhh yes I just need to remember that there is a 99% probablity that I will never have to do calculus again after this course... :D Crocheting! SO cool - I have a lot of friends who crochet! I also love writing poetry, hiking, and photography (of usually nature or landscapes). I enjoy taekwondo and swimming but haven't done either of those in a little while... I also did competitive speech arts and drama for many years (I work at the studio that I used to go to now!) I miss it SO MUCH!! I almost went into acting instead of forest sciences for uni... but accepted the offer at the uni closer to me (so NOT the acting program offer :/) but I enjoy the program I'm in now too :3 I hope your weekend is going wonderfully <333 🌱

blog, I'd like to take the time to say that I've been feeling vulnerable when it comes to queer dating! because obviously, but also because of perceived external judgement from within the community, ow. looked in the mirror my therapist held up for me and saw that I'm much more comfortable with my gender than my sexuality, after being asked to spell it all out. this is, not in terms of definition-- we're solid there-- but praxis. and i think this is because gender is something you can do more fully alone in your bedroom. sexuality is too, but at least people can demand more than your word for it. right? haha

yeah, been falling in love with this unreal image of a gay relationship i have in my head. eye contact and shit, you know. and more 'equal' stuff, including but not limited to a kind of greater understanding and intentional kindness. still really mad about the patriarchy, who would've guessed? bunch of guys were talking with my one man professor, who is great, in class today and i started thinking about barnard, lmao. and i think that's fair--- not that i should be concerning myself with the look of the opposite*, but worth saying, i guess. it's fair to be feeling done! rahhhh (there's obviously so much more going on here re. my anger with men but I will not [yet] divulge to my baby blog) *i.e., worrying about looking like a feminist that's "unfair"

anyway, if i could make a mood board, which i cannot without getting frustrated, for my current passionspace, it would contain the following: lots of soft pinks, purples, and dark grey-blue, the end of "parachute" by caroline polachek {starting at "closing in"} (what a mother figure), splashed puddles of water, this specific capricorn-themed mug with hot tea, 'full surrogacy now', BLÅHAJ, my noise-cancelling headphones, masculine clothing, flowers of the wild variety, tissues, PLL (got such a crush on spencer), the quote "finally there's a way to be both free and safe", 'bottoms' promo art, and other elements to ensure cohesiveness.

so it's almost sweater season, team. i've gotta take my winter stuff out from under my bed-- an event which i'm already planning catering and lighting for. figured out that i'm the type of person that needs to remind themself to light candles, etc. an entailment of the great bath bomb revelation from years past. <- solid me lore

on a similar note of control: craving leadership of late. i want to run shit so bad. god i'd be so good. the dog sits in me, unbarking and chained. looked into theatre production opportunities, ended up feeling that thing i haven't quite found the right way to express yet... degrounded? fucking sucks is what it is. when you go too far up the imagination slide; a kind of altitude sickness. so maybe i won't be doing tech exactly but soon i'll have another full-time job. lol. that'll be cool. hopefully i can make shit happen. feel myself have an effect on the world.
