Been spending a lot of time admiring the sunset from my apartment these last few days. It’s my last semester here and I’m putting intention into appreciating the little things.

The left picture is what my room looks like during the sunset lol, the lighting is less extreme than it looks in the picture but it’s still pretty dim. Most of my work is on the computer doing things about computers, though, so it makes its own light.

I just learned that my absolute fave @montereybayaquarium has a spotify account with some great playlists, been listening to them in the background of my work today.

Went searching for a habit tracker app that a) had a monthly tracker widget and b) wasn’t annoying as hell with ads/begging for money and after a lot of trial and error finally found one in the very simply named ‘Habit’!

The interface feels a little weird as you have to slide to check off habits (my main habit isnt time-based which would work better for a slide but is a very simple yes/no i didn’t do it) but it doesn’t paywall off basic features like every other app I downloaded to try out. The free version is limited to 3 habits (fine for me as I mainly want to track my flashcards) but unlike other apps I tried you can do a one-time payment instead of this ridiculous trend of everything being a monthly subscription.

I decided to put my widgets on my main home screen page of my phone - I do have a page specifically for uni but having them where I’m going to be most of my time means that I’m actually reminded that the app exists, rather than only ever seeing the widgets when I go to my uni page to check my timetable/etc.

Injury Prevention Research Project

I just turned in my research project on injury prevention and I had to show you all the final product because I am so proud of it.

The research project was supposed to be on a preventable injury and we needed to make a visual presentation for it, so I chose to make a brochure. I am obsessed with how it turned out and I think it looks so professional and organized. I'm so proud to turn this in as a final project.

This term has been absolutely insane. Not only is it my first term back in person at my first ever university, I have also been working full-time, taking 16 credits, and streaming on twitch 3 days a week. On top of everything going on, my mother also got very sick and needed emergency surgery last week before Thanksgiving. It's been a lot to deal with, but as of today I have a 3.75 GPA which is INSANE to me. Fall term has always been the most difficult for me and to see myself do so well gives me so much hope for the future.

New Notebook Layout

This term I started making new front page layouts for my notebooks so that I can find content easier when studying later. I got the idea from an old highschool teacher who had a similar table of contents idea, but I added a few more touches to it.

We start with the name of the class written out at the top

I added a key so that I knew what the colors mean for each class (I left my purple highlighter at home so ignore the empty spot)

My scheduled hours for the class

And finally the table of contents where I can write out what each page has on it.

I have always left my first page of my notebook empty because I didn't like taking notes on that first page, so l think this is a great way to add something onto the page that is helpful and appealing to look at.

🍁 Autumn Studying Challenge 🍁

🍁 4th October - Is there anything special happening for you this autumn?

Back to university. My birthday is always the start of Autumn too, I always try an have a quiet autumn, a chill couple of months before christmas arrives.

Didn’t do too much studying today, just a bit of reading, but I ran lots of errands so I was still productive.

today's thought: I should make flashcards for different kinds of humidifiers, ventilators and etc for ease of familiarization and memorization + future use.

today's exam was alright, had a bit of trouble identifying connecting some concepts but I got a good score, so that's good. Then as I've been doing the whole week - aside from Tuesday, I took a rest after exam, slept from 10:30-2PM !! This is only possible because my exam for tomorrow is still at 1:30PM. Also continued to rewatch greys after lunch.

Today's productivity: completed and passed biochemistry long quiz for proteins (with that I read through notes beforehand so let's also add this) studied for biochemistry exam for next week

September passed through real quick !! Here's to wishing everyone would be in good health and, just, all the energy and all the best for everyone this October. Let's continue to grow together 🌱🤍

05.10.2020 // here’s another collection of miscellaneous photos i’ve accumulated over the past month or so! this week is my mid semester break (and by “mid” my uni means week 10 of 13 😤) so i’m planning to get a head start on my final assessments and hopefully read something other than tutorial assigned readings for once. i finished gorbachev’s book yesterday and it was the first non-school book i’ve read since august ;-;

WELCOME BACK

Hello my fellow students! After a long hiatus and a long break from school I am officially back! I don't have a post schedule yet, but I will keep everyone updated. As for my whereabouts the past few months, I will address that in a post later down the line. For now I want to wish everyone a happy back to school season, I know many schools started earlier, but this is my 2nd day back. So to anyone just starting back and to those who have been in for a while, we're in this together.

07.08.21 | are you a night owl or a morning person? I’m both actually. I love waking up at 6am during breaks. I love enjoying a cup of coffee and breakfast first thing in the morning, two of my faves in this world. however, college and med school turned me into a night owl because there’s no time to study during the day —we are mostly tired from a whole day of lectures, activities, and exams. this is also why I post at this hour. 😆 my study brain is active at night! old habits die hard, I guess. 😂
