Still like this idea
Idea for a character duo
Character A is just a new kid who just wants to make it by, usually in a new/magical world.
Character B thinks this new kid is a threat because 1) They're decently skilled at school and is learning magic decently 2) When they first met, character a didn't IMMEDIATELY befriend them.
Character B become Character A's rival, and tries to make their life hell. Character A retaliates because B's being a dick.
Eventually A asks WHY B is doing this, and B responds that they doesn't want A to become a threat to them or their position as the greatest.
A responds that they literally did not give a single shit about any of that until B started making a big deal about it and is confused as to why they even bothered doing all the stuff they did because the only reason B was like this was because A WASN'T IMMEDIATELY SUPER FRIENDLY TOWARDS HIM.

Hey writeblr :)), I'm Leah, and I'm looking for other writers to follow and interact with! My dash has been kind of bland recently, and I'm hoping to participate in some tag games with fellow writers! I don't mind reading works of any genre, as long as you're willing to discuss WIPs and swap ideas.
Some deets about me:
I write mostly fantasy
My main project's Mind of a Mercenary, a novel following the antics of cult-leader-turned-convict-mercenary Luna, after she gets caught trying to take over as major city with mind-magic
I also do a lot of short stories
I really, really, reeeaaaallllyyy love villain protags. Luna's one, for starters
Aroace and she/her
I live in Asia so my timezone is basically 12h apart from the US's
Reblog or like this if you want me to check you out and give you a follow ;) Or just tag me in a game, I don't mind

Let's talk about fight scenes.
Writing fight scenes requires a delicate balance of action, emotion, and detail to keep readers engaged and immersed in the moment.
Here are some tips to craft compelling fight scenes:
Know your characters: Understand their fighting styles, strengths, and weaknesses—are they offensive, or defensive? Spontaneous, or strategic? Trigger-happy, or reluctant? Their personalities and motivations will influence their actions and decisions during the fight.
Create tension: Build tension leading up to the fight to increase the stakes and make the action more gripping. Foreshadowing, verbal sparring, or physical intimidation can all contribute to a sense of anticipation.
Use sensory details: Engage the reader's senses by describing the sights, sounds, smells, and physical sensations of the fight. This helps to create a vivid and immersive experience—but make sure not to overdo it. Too much detail can distract from the adrenaline of the fight.
Maintain clarity: Ensure that the action is easy to follow by using clear and concise language. Avoid overly complicated sentences or excessive description that could confuse readers.
Focus on emotions: Show the emotional impact of the fight on your characters. Describe their fear, anger, determination, or adrenaline rush to make the scene more compelling and relatable.
Include strategic elements: Incorporate tactics, strategy, and improvisation into the fight to make it more dynamic and realistic. Think about how your characters use their surroundings, weapons, or special abilities to gain an advantage.
Balance dialogue and action: Intersperse dialogue with action to break up the fight scene and provide insight into the characters' thoughts and intentions. Dialogue can also reveal or support the characters' personalities and motivations.
Keep it concise: While it's important to provide enough detail to immerse readers in the action, avoid unnecessary padding or overly long fight scenes. Keep the pacing brisk to maintain momentum and keep readers hooked.
Show the consequences: Illustrate the aftermath of the fight, including injuries, emotional trauma, or changes in relationships between characters. This adds depth to the scene and helps to drive the story forward.
Hope this helped ❤

This persona thing would be all about hope, humanity, and how society needs to prioritize and value the lives of all humans instead of causing discrimination and division to fester.
All of the characters have been negatively affected by their society in some way, and now seek ways to find peace and be hopeful for a better future.
And all of their personas are all people who either fought for a hopeful cause or died trying.
So...I may talk about my Persona ocs here. As well as on my writeblr.
So just incase you want some basic info n stuff!!!
Daichi Yuugi, The Hermit (He/They)
An oddball who dreams of making others smile with his stories. Unfortunately, because of his attitude and actions, many have labeled him an idiot.
With their new powers, thru might not be able to prove them wrong, but they will be able to prove to themselves that they're more than a damned stupid clown.
Jack of all trades, who specializes in electric damage, buffs, and status curing and causing.
Sahori Asana, The High Priestess (She/Her)
The daughter of a doctor who's always wanted to help people with their lives. While her dreams of helping others are admirable, she often doesn't take the time to be kind to herself or push her boundaries.
In a world where despair reigns supreme, she ains to use her powers to save and protect people. Just...don't touch her without her permission and you'll be fine.
Main healer. Adept at ice damage, curative skills, and defense buffs. He also has physical counter skills. Don't touch her.
Taiyou Hazuma, Strength (He/Him)
The son of a retired athlete who has been constantly training in order to be strong like his father, no matter how much it hurts. He aims to be a beacon of hope to his friends, and hides his weaknesses often.
Maybe if he helps fight against shadows, he will be able to find out what really makes him strong. And hey, it's good exercise and helps people. That's good too.
A resilient tank and damage dealer. Focuses on fire and physical skills, as well as attack buffs and getting crits with ease.
Ruka Fukumoto, Justice(She/Her)
A young girl who seems like a delinquent, but is often misunderstood. She would rather just get by and be in peace, but the world is not so kind to her.
Her powers not only allow her to change society, but in a way, get revenge. She will break down the darkness in people's hearts with fury...which probably isn't healthy.
Really fast and strong. A balanced fighter who wields varied physical strikes and debuffs.
Kagome Syuuto, The Tower(He/Him)
A war veteran, now a warrior against the darkness of shadows. He works at a high school now, silently hoping that the world remembers the lives lost from battle.
He hates the fact that teenagers are here, but with his power, he hopes he can protect them, and then world too. He'd never say it, but he'd throw his life away for them if he needed to.
A strong physical attacker. Focusing heavily on physical skills and dark attacks while also having a plethora of debuffs at his disposal.
Kisara Taito, The Chariot (She/They)
A young adult who works at a high school and often faces scrutiny for her life choices and gender expression. They want to ignore those who hate the fact that their life makes them happy.
Her power to assist other with her Persona, and her very good people skills will come in handy. She'll make sure the party is well cared for.
She starts as a navigator, but her powers on the battlefield are no joke. Excellent in high fire damage, as well as speed debuffs and status effects.
"Abel", The Star (He/Him)
A mysterious person who seems to want to understand humanity and protect it with his life. They seem to have a lot of compassion for this world they now inhabit
Initially against the idea of combat, they decide to take up arms to protect humanity from Shadows. They seem to...lack a true persona of their own, which is odd.
A supportive master. They specialize in wind damage, and emergency healing, as well as some good physical damage too.
Ousuke Katou, The Moon(They/Them)
With odd behavior and occurances all around, there's only one reporter who wants to take the case: a high schooler who's definitely a loner. They want to help others and often do thing most wouldn't to achieve their goals.
Their powers, while not useful for direct combat, are invaluable and one of a kind. Even if their efforts are never public, they want to do everything they can to help.
Navigator, who's...a little on the offensive side? They have supportive abilities, but can also debuff and stop enemy attacks with their piercing strikes.
Tsubasa Miwako, The Sun(She/Her)
A middle school girl with an incredibly positive attitude, at least when around people, she trusts. The people around her have always told her to, essentially, stop being as happy as she is because of her foreign heritage.
After being saved, she decides to be like the mature people who saved her and fight the darkness. This worries literally everyone around her, but she's surprisingly capable.
Lower endurance, but incredible damage output with her light magic. Can also debuff enemy attacks and help others reflect or absorb attacks.

Major Characters in my W.I.Ps as Tarot Cards (P1?)
Dalgari, Thrones of Legend
Formula:
Character:Tarot
Explanation of their arc and why I picked the card. May include mine or spoilers.
Enid: The Chariot
Enid is filled with the courage and determination to keep moving forward, for a better world, that her mother wishes to see for the world. She will not passively sit down and wait for things to get better and doesn't allow any of the other party members to wollow in sadness for too long.
Though they sometimes struggle internally to believe they are capable of living up to their ancestors, Enid knows they cannot stop and let obstacles stop them.
Taurn:Strength
Taurn's story is all about his strength. His physical strength allows him to protect his friends, and he takes extreme pride in it. Though because of his heart condition, he often believes this isn't enough for him to be strong, and often hides his weaknes
In order to become the hero he want to be, he must also improve his mental emotional strength, choosing to become more vulnerable and open, as this will allow him to be free of his mental shackles, and possibly fre others too.
Leon:Justice
A just, honorable knight of high status and nobility, Leon considers himself an arbiter of the law. Though his ideals are not as just as he believes they are. As they are continously challenged, they begin to think about how unfair their society is.
When he realizes how unjust his society is, he wishes to change it, and becomes more honest with himself. His noble birth has been shielding him from the truth of the world for long enough, and now he is ready to face it and reshape it.
Sophia: The Tower
Sophia was safe and felt comfortable with her life. But with her mother's disappearance and the time of her coronation coming really soon, Sophia feels as if she is falling into a fate where she dooms her country.
She desperately tries to search for her mother; to rebuild the tower as quickly as possible. But eventually she will have to admit that it just isn't possible, and that she will have to be ready to leave it behind and walk towards a better future.
Angeline:The High Priestess
Angeline is convinced that she is just as weak as her family had been telling her. And yet, she believes she must use her life to help others, often ignoring her own needs and belittling herself.
When she begins to grow and learn about her strengths and the world, she realizes that she does have the right to stand strong and be proud. She decides never to let herself be misguided by those who mean to belitte her, even if they are loved ones.
Noah:The Hermit
Noah's thirst for knowledge and wisdom has gone on for a very long time. He's always wanted to share the things he's learned with others, but he is often unable. Sometimes he is ignored and shooed off. Other times he simply doesn't get the chance.
His knowledge is invaluable to the Gilded Guardians, and he knows that he can not simply sit back and hide away. He must reflect on his knowledge, but he also needs to show it, and become a competent leader and tutor.
Wulf: The Hanged Man
Wulf, while charismatic and skilled enough to lead a band of mercs and rebels, is nowhere near ready to run a country. He often worries how he will be able to run the land he spent so long trying to liberate.
With the help of his friends, he realizes that he must take the time to learn, and even if it is difficult, he can't simply do nothing. He must act, and act with wisdom.
Shahriyar: The Magician
In order to prevent a disaster for his country, Shahriyar does whatever he can to act and face the trials of a deadly night. He's been training his skills to help protect his brother.
Willing to learn and do anything if it means achieving his goals, he oftentimes let's his ambition and willingness to do awful things get the best of him, dulling his empathy. Shahriyar will need to learn to temper his will, and still use his resources wisely.
Leilana: The Sun
Despite all of the tragedy she has faced, Leilana always seems to carry herself with a positive, almost childish attitude. She wants to make those around her feel safe and happy.
As things grow dire and negative, she will do whatever it takes to keep the peace and keep everyone positive. But it is unclear at first whether or not she is truly doing as well as she says or believes she is. She may need some assistance as well.
Amethyst: Death
After the death of her brother, Amethyst has grown distant. Hateful, even. She doesn't trust anyone except those truly close to her, and even then, not by much.
In order for her to heal, trust others, and defend her ideals and home, she needs to let go of her grief and anger and move forward. It will not be easy, especially with her enemies still alive and well, but it is necessary.
Wyla: The Star
Not much is known about the Ollphéist of her lands. And in turn, Wyla does not know much about them, other than her history. But in hopes of growing and help her country, she decided to explore the mainland.
There are many dangers she and the world faces. But she can't shy away or lose faith. She follows the Gilded Guardians with hope in her heart and bravely faces off against those who try to oppress her people.
Viria: Temperance
Viria has taken in eleven young, powerful people, and is nurturing them to be the best they can be in order to protect their world. It is a very heavy burden. Even heavier considering new threats arise every day.
The duchess must keep balanced if she hopes to achieve her goals, but she also needs to realize that she does not need to go through this alone. Just as the descendants rely on her patience and love, she can rely on them to keep her focused and balanced.

The Countries of Tathylia
Tumblr media
Long ago, a pair of goddesses, Elumia and Dena, made a world known as Tathylia. They loved their creations, and guided them to prosperity. The world was an expression of their love.
But mortals were flawed. No matter what, it seemed as if they could not peacefully coexist. Wars were waged. Countries created, and relations strained.
Until one day, in the north, the shook. The world broke into pieces. Mortals silently agreed to some semblance of peace. But it was too late. The goddesses, in grief and anger, separated and ran to the deepest depths and highest heights. All to escape the monsters they had created.
And now...war threatens to consume the world once again.
💧Vanar, a kingdom facing war, from outside and from within.💧
Tumblr media
A kingdom in the center of the continent known for being one of the most prosperous and resilient countries in the world. Ruled by the current king, Galas the Martyr, its people are promised safety and peace.
To rule such a large territory, the royal family has the help of five noble demesnes, all tasked with ruling and protecting over stretches of land, along with supporting the monarch. The noble dukes and duchesses often bicker, slowing down processes, and they seem to have it out for each other.
The kingdom is also being attacked repeatedly by outside forces and is very passive and defensive, seeking to stay out of war as much as possible. This is the will of the king, and the people are not happy. Some nobles are thinking of getting the old ruler to leave or thinking of making him their puppet,
🔥Arie, a queendom of magic, entitlement, and royal supremacy.🔥
Tumblr media
A queendom in the northern tundras. It’s cold and very harsh. But they survived through the use of magic. By studying and developing forms of magic for normal life and combat alike, the queendom has thrived.
The use of magic here is incredibly important, so much so that those who can’t…are often seen as lesser. Less powerful or intelligent. This causes an intense rift in the classes, as high education and magic schooling is often seen as something only attainable by those of the upper class.
The current queen, Queen Aldora, especially believes this, and has used their countries magical might to suppress the voices of those who are unable to use magic, as well as those who used to live on the lands before them. After all, if the people learned that magic is not necessary for their survival, how would they be superior?
🌲Chloroa, a land burned by war, with survivors lurking in the forests.🌲
Tumblr media
An oligarchy in the southwest part of the continent.Filled with thick jungles and forests, it is almost impenetrable, which its citizens see as an extra defense against invaders, such as Ragiel. It is the home of a race of people known as dyreblods, people who can transform into animals and truly harness the power of the spirits of the world.
During the Landbreaker War, they managed to deal a decisive blow on their enemies. In retaliation they were relentlessly attacked. Their homes and forests burned, their people kidnapped and forced into slavery, or warped into feral monsters because of dark magic.
When they saw the world do nothing but scorn them or ignore their pleas, they begand to buols their defenses and hide away, facing down any intruders who dare enter their lands with fury. They are rather isolated and stay out of foreign affairs unless it is absolutely necessary, even when it comes to their political allies.
🪽Chasus, a holy kingdom that broke the world because of its views.🪽
Tumblr media
A theocratic kingdom in the northeastern mountains. It’s land is much more frigid and cruel than its neighbor of Arie, and yet it seems much warmer because of the communities in every part of this kingdom. It is seen as holy ground by many, and the people are all very religious, faithful to the goddesses, but mostly Elumia, who is supposedly watching them, from the highest, holiest peaks herself.
Along with the goddesses, they worship The Apostle, a person with supposedly holy blood who is said to be acting out the will of the gods. What they say goes, and because of this principle, they have managed to cause lots of problems for foreigners, those who use elder magic, and those who follow more pagan beliefs.
Generally, they are considered responsible for the Landbreaker War, and it's devastating consequences. This is a fact that they have been trying to deny and justify for years, in order to preserve their holy, perfect image.
🗻Solis, a land with lush riches, saved only for a few in power.🗻
Tumblr media
A federation of nobles to the east, and one of the richest countries in the world. They gain this money through trade, as well as mercenaries. But despite this, the common people often struggle to get by.
This is because a lot of the money goes to the noble and upper classes, leaving those below in the dust. This has caused many to become violent, spawning both brigands and rebels alike, while the high classes and nobles watch.
Dena’s Pool, a holy site for the Dena Faithful and dyreblods alike, rests in the center, and many make pilgrimages to the lake often. Unfortunately, Solis has a not-so-secret dyreblod slave trade, and many dyreblods who go there don’t end up returning. Members of the nobility seem to benefit from this trade.
🧿Nyrix, a torched land, lost, yet determined to last.🧿
Tumblr media
A kingdom in the northwest of the continent. Separated from the landmass during the Landbreaker War, it was the clear loser of that war, and has been isolating itself out of safety. They fear having their land taken from them again and want to avoid war as much as possible. Known for developing many forms of elder magic.
They have recently made an alliance with Ragiel, and for political reasons, the princess of Nyrix and prince of Ragiel are married. Not much else is known about them, but there are stories of their efforts for independence, and their mysterious power.
It is clear to all that the days of this land are going to end soon if they do not find a way to sustain themselves beyond warfare. But they lack the political political staying power of many others. Their advances in the sciences are quite impressive, even if they are brutal and heartless sometimes.
☀️Ragiel, an empire that strikes with a titan’s strength and a monster's cruelty.☀️
Tumblr media
An mighty empire in the southwestern mountains. Strength is valued above all, and many people aspire to be strong enough to thrive and protect others and themselves in this meritocratic society.
They have incredible technology and excel in combat strategies, and have even gained control of large dragons for warfare purposes. It plans on using this military might to take over the world, something that…only the prince seems to want.
Cruelty, discrimination and xenophobia are common here. At a young age people are taught to be fearful and hateful towards every other country, and especially hateful towards dyreblods, who they can subhumans. To most, it is unclear whether or not they are vile bloodhunters or simply victims of propaganda.

Helen, Violet Maiden
Tumblr media
Class: Ranger-> Huntress/Vidette
Helen is a noblewoman from Solis. She grew up being pressured by many to marry someone so their house would have more power. Her sisters and cousins have gone through this treatment, and wanting to avoid it for herself, she fled from home, disguising herself as a man and training to fight on horseback with a bow and blade, and acting as a mercenary
Eventually, she joined the rebellion against Solisian nobility but was captured by pirates. She was then saved by the Silver Lances, who she joined to stay far away from home.
Helen is very polite and demure, and is extremely secretive about her past life. She has a heart of gold and is dedicated to doing the right thing, even if she is a tad frail or unwilling to cause harm.
Helen is good unit with decent stats and growths all around, most of them focusing on defense and speed. Though her strength growth is a little shaky, she will most likely have high strength and magic, surprisingly.

NORMALIZE MAKING NINJA CHARACTER JACKS OF ALL TRADES
They were more than just sneaky Japanese assassins or theives. They were scouts and information gatherers, who specialized in stealth more than combat. Few of their main, most important tools are specifically weapons.
Make them scouts, make them nobodies who can get in and out of a place as silently as possible, make them chemists who can heal themselves. GIVE THEM BOMBS! THEY HAD BOMBS!! Give them so many damned skills, because they HAD so many skills.

The 'write for yourself uwu' culture shift has done real damage to fic writers imo. I recently had a post on the importance of strategic commenting break containment and I'm surprised by how many strangers who rb it in agreement feel the need to reassure in the tags that they do write for themselves, but...
There is a kernel of truth in the heart of this sentiment--if you only chase stats, you are unlikely to find joy in your writing. At the same time, I think we've veered too far in the other direction.
It is only natural to want engagement and the write for yourself crowd often overlooks how communal an effort fic writing usually is. So many story ideas are born from casual discussions about h/c's and favourite scenes and what ifs and the comment box is a cornerstone of this process. Not only can the discussions in the comment box be a hub for idea generation on their own, but even when the said idea generation takes place in DMs or Discord chats, commenting is often the first/easiest way into befriending authors; it's where community building starts.
Further, the write for yourself crowd similarly overlooks that the things a writer can write for themselves are often vast and many at any given time, and relative engagement levels across fandoms/ships can play a large part in which of those ideas a writer chooses to pursue--or whether they choose to publish their finished work at all.
In sum, I don't think we need to be this apologetic as writers for wanting feedback and engagement for what we post -- writing is hard work and it's only human that we want something external out of it in turn, however rewarding the process might intrinsically be.

How to Design a Large Cast of Characters
Tumblr media
Note: While this advice can be applied to all forms of fiction writing, I will be primarily focused on helping you design casts of *playable* characters for games similar to Fire Emblem or other SRPGs. Also, this is mostly going to be the weird ramblings explaining how I personally design large casts, so if these tips don't work for you, don't worry about it.
Something you should know about me is... I love a large cast of characters. Specifically in games like FE. I love looking into the lives of the units who I use in battle and watching them grow stronger, and watching their character arcs. If their villains or otherwise important characters, I love seeing how they influence the narrative outside of my influence and how they can aid or help the main party.
For anyone who's designing games with large playable casts of fun characters or making a large cast for any other project, I feel like this guide will help you a lot.
Step 1: Make Some Characters
This is the easiest step, at least for me. Take a world that you made, and think about characters you want to use for this world. Main characters, side characters, villains, etc.
They do not have to be the most fleshed out, at least at the beginning. They can be a concept you think would be neat for this world to explore. They could be simple concepts you'd want to write or neat ideas you think would be fun to design. Hell, it could even be a character from a story that either died or got cut.
Step 2: Cut and Assign Roles
For this step, you must have a set number of characters you want to have in your playable main cast. For Fire Emblem games, this number usually ranges around 30-40.l playable units.
About now, you should also begin to flesh them out, making them more than just concepts.
You must also consider the themes and world of your story. Who in your list of characters could best explore those themes in some way. Note that not every character has to be important to the plot or masterfully explore the themes of the game.
Once you've gotten a range of main/playable characters, pick the best ones, or thr ones you like the most, and bench the others, and congrats, you have yourself a cast of good guya. Do the same for some of the NPCs or villains, but on a smaller scale, and you have a pretty good list of characters.
Step 3: Make Them Interact
There is one major problem with making large casts...and that is that they are large. There are a lot of characters you must keep an eye on, and they should all do something in the story.
If you focus ONLY on the main character(s), you risk making the characters bland, boring plot devices, or meatshields that add nothing to the story. On the other hand, if you write all characters as if they are important, you risk bloating your story with names and dialog and making the story take too long.
Important characters should be in the spotlight most of the time, but it I'd a good idea to spread it around. Show how some of the more minor characters feel about this situation, maybe have them talk with each other outside of danger, give them relationships with each other. Give em enough for people to want to latch on to

The Character Arc: 101
As opposed to the plotline, the character is a description of what ahppens to the inside of the character over the course of the story.
Your lead character should be a different person at the other end of the arc.
The character has a build to it. It must, or the change will not be convincing. A good character arc has:
A beginning point, where we meet the character and get a sense of his interior layers (more on layers in a moment)
A doorway through which the character must pass, almost always reluctantly
Incidents that impact the layers
A deepening disturbance
A moment of change, sometimes via an "epiphany"
An aftermath
Layers of a Character
Tumblr media
The layers get "softer" (easier to change) as you move outward. The point of the whole character arc is to crack these layers one by one with external pressure until the character changes in a major way.
As an example: Scrooge from <A Christmas Carol>?
Core Image = miser, misanthrope
Beliefs = pointlessness of charity
Values = money over people
Attitude = profit is more important than good works
Opinion = christmas is a humbug
The Beginning = The character is, well, what he usually is.
Impacting Incidents = There's pressure for the character to change.
it is best to underplay such moments.
Overdo it, and you will lapse into melodrama.
Deepening Disturbances = The initial "lesson" is followed up by an even more shocking pressure
Aftermath = There is an action which indicates that the character is changing, reacting to the external pressure.
The Epiphany = The big moment of change.
The Character Arc Table
List the impacting and deepening incidents in your novel in a table
Add the first (starting) and last (ending) points of your plot
Now, list how your character's inner world changes along with the external changes that take place.

Garett, Jolly Bulwark
Tumblr media
Class: Knight->Sentinel/Runelord
A veteran soldier of Vanar, who fought alongside many in the Landbreaker War, and is known for his skill and cheerful attitude. In a devastating battle during the war, he lost many due to a war dragon's attack, giving him a fear of draconian creatures and fire to this day.
Garrett is a cheerful and wise man who alwys tries his best to keep the spirits of his allies high, with songs, jokes, and his generally nice attitude. He is extremely protective of his love ones, and often sacrifices his own health and safety to protect others.
Garett is your typical armor knight unit, though lower movement isn't exactly a deal breaker on most maps. He has incredible strength and defense, and enough speed to not be doubled by most enemies. Though don't expect him to double enemies himself, or take magical damage well.

how much of your own self/experiences do you believe pours into your projects? if this differs per project, which projects have the most and least of you?
what do you do to engage with your projects which isn’t actually writing? ex: playlists, pinterest boards, etc. how much do they play a role in the development of your work?

Writblur Intro! Again!
Tumblr media
Picture by Olga Antonenko on Artstation.
Hi! I'm Blazer, and I use He/Him pronouns. I'm a 17 y/o aspiring writer and game developer who wants to share my stories with others. And also scream about my ocs, or other story bits. I love fantasy and spend a lot of my time writing about it.
Currently I have a few stories that I am currently working on:
Path to the Gilded Field, a novel about a girl who decides to go on a journey to save her mother from a plague, with the help of a lord, a knight, and a mercenary Deals with themes of sickness, growth, and selflessness.
Tathylia Chronicles, an SRPG made with SRPG Studio following a mercenary's son and a magical princess as they fight off an evil empire in two separate campaigns. Deals with themes of unity, discrimination and oppression, and legacies.
But besides that, I have SO MANY MORE that I wanna share. So many....like too many.
So...if you like stories with diverse casts and rambling, feel free to follow me! And also, feel free to ask me things about my wips.
Also, below, you'll find the tags of some of my stories, lol.
BYE!!

How to Write REALISTIC and SMOOTH Dialogue
In a story, dialogue is quite important, it helps the readers paint a picture of what's happening and the characters themselves. However, it can be difficult to avoid the unnaturalness and choppiness that comes with a lack of experience. But luckily, I have put together A LOT of advice on how you can get over that rockiness and improve!
*** KEEPING YOUR DIALOGUE REALISTIC, AND PACING ***
>> Keep your characters in character:
Dialogue is a remarkably quick way for readers to determine your character's personality. Thus, you want their speech patterns to remain fairly consistent so the audience won't get confused. If your character is more serious, then they will use less slang and perhaps a more impressive vocabulary. If your character is more relaxed, they will use more slang and compress the words. (such as "dunno," "kay," "y'know," etc.)
Basically, you want their tone to match their traits so the way that they talk is more realistic and personlized to themselves. If the way all your characters speak is the same, there's something wrong. A strong tip is to put yourself in your character's shoes and imagine how they would respond!
>> Take the situation into consideration:
This is another part of keeping your characters in, well, character. Different emotional situations will have a different effect on separate people, so make sure that you have an idea of how your character will act during stressful, irritating, and sad times.
If your character is normally cold, they will struggle if it comes to comforting other people because they have less experience in that field.
>> Don't take too long with their words:
Unlike when narrating something, most people talk just to get the idea across. They will be more specific and quicker with what they say. (This excludes any character who likes to talk a lot.) Unless it's on purpose, they won't dance around the topic. Think of when you casually chat with your friends; you're pretty unlikely to use certain words and/or phrases that might be common to use while narrating.
If you want to explain something complicated, instead of writing out a paragraph of just one person talking, use a question-and-answer prompt! This is where another character continuously asks related questions that get answered by another person, so you can indirectly reveal your explanation.
*** HOW TO WRITE A SMOOTHER CONVERSATION AND DIALOGUE TAGS***
>> Having a variety of dialogue tags:
This is a pretty basic thing to look out for if you're new to writing conversations. Using words like "said," every other sentence can easily make it feel choppy and robotic. Instead, use words like "murmured," "smirked," etc. to paint some emotion into their words. Additionally, vary the location of the dialogue tags! They don't all have to go after the statement, you can include something in the beginning or even the middle, too!
Examples:
Beginning - She tilted her head, "What are you talking about?"
Middle - "Oh," he blinked, "I actually never thought about that."
End - "Wait up!" She exclaimed loudly, waving her hands around.
>> Using no dialogue tags to create a smooth conversation:
Having too many tags can also overwhelm your reader--remember, sentence variety is a crucial part of writing--so you can always drop them if they're unneeded. This applies when your characters (two is the suggested amount) are talking back and forth in a pattern straightforward enough for the reader to understand who's talking without it having to be labeled.
Dropping dialogue tags in these moments can create a smoother atmosphere during the conversation because the reader only has to focus on the talking present.
*** USING SLANG, STUTTERS, FILLER WORDS, AND PAUSES ***
Human speech is often not perfect; when talking, we often make mistakes such as filler words, grammatically incorrect phrases, etc. Hence, for more natural-sounding dialogue, it's important to incorporate some of these.
>> Pauses and stutters:
When reading dialogue, we read it at a steady pace unless it's written otherwise. However, that steady pace can soon get too robotic and too smooth. Luckily, there are several ways to change this! You can use dialogue tags, (ex: she quickly spoke) commas, and ellipsis (...). These are often integrated when the character is hesitant, nervous, answering something, or when they need to admit something. The same idea applies to stutters--they're mainly used to demonstrate anxiousness, which can be found in varying situations.
>> Filler words and slang:
Filler words can really just be used where you see fit. They may be used in the situations I previously mentioned (because it shows someone stumbling over their words) but it's ultimately up to you!
Slang, just like everything else, should not be used too often, or it will seem forced and exaggerated. The point is to sound natural, and increasing amounts of repetitiveness can ruin it. It's also important to remember that in real life, our conversations move slower; when someone speaks, another person usually doesn't respond quite literally, right after. However, in writing, dialogue can actually often seem that way, which is why using tags and these imperfections of speech is pivotal for building a realistic conversation!
*** CONCLUSION ***
Lastly, a key point when writing dialogue is to ALWAYS read the conversations! Whether it be in your head or out loud, it can often help you catch anything that seems off! Additionally, like I mentioned at the very beginning, write dialogue from your character's perspective! Imagine yourself as them and how they/you would talk. Try to keep your dialogue tags, sentences, and word use varied to create a natural conversation!
If you were struggling before, I hope that this (extra) long guide was able to really offer you some insight and useful tips! If you read this far, thank you!
Happy writing~
