“Don’t go mistaking your house burning down for the dawn” is a lyric by Frank Turner.
When I am at my absolute worst, when I am experiencing soul crushing depression or I’m in the middle of a panic attack, my brain whispers this lie to me- “Now you are finally seeing things clearly.” And then I remember that lyric to promise myself that I am not.
Another one my dad used to say often is “they fuck you up, your mom and dad. They don’t mean to, but they do.” Such a great reminder of my parents’ humanity and limitations that still gives me room to love them.
Tell me a quote that rewired your brain chemistry. Doesn't have to be like, some old dead guy's words. Can be something your dad or a tumblr mutual or whatever said.
One of mine is the Shantideva (8th century Buddhist sage) quote I have embroidered twice now, "if there is a remedy, what is the use of frustration. If there us not a remedy, then what is the use of frustration?" I use this quote to tell my anxiety spirals to shut the fuck up and it takes effort on my part but it helps me recognize "this is a waste of my energy" and then I can usually let the thought go.
Another is a quote from a podcast I've never listened to (that I forget the name of) that @therogueduchess posted (thank you for that btw) that says "it is noble to know that no one is beneath you." This one helped me process something in therapy that lead to growth in my capacity for compassion, which I truly treasure.
Please I am SO curious. What's one (or more, if you want to share) of yours?

My sister sent me a ring with the name of my recently-deceased cat in blackletter. She is equally thoughtful and maximalist.

These are some of the personal works I have mentioned yesterday. :) For some reason my lineworks become more abstract in contrast to the usual fanarts when working on personal projects. Hope you like it!

So is this something like our man Nightingale? Tbh I picture him as baby James McGraw from Black Sails, but that’s kind of phoning in the character design, right?
Idk, but like. It’s a start. Drawn very quickly as sleep closed in on me last night.
Leeward, by Katie Daysh
I know I'm late but what if I lose my mind about Leeward.
I'm not very far into it, but it's gonna be slow going while I work, so maybe I get weird about it.

A Fearne Cosplayer told me that the 3d prints of the staff- and often the non-3d prints of the staff- break with almost certain regularity.
Is this true? Has anyone noted a definite weak point? What is wrong with the design that causes that? Where does it break?
Help me help you. What can we do, here?

Under her stays, Laudna has a long gown.
LET’S STRIP LAUDNA (to her skivvies and then turn the camera away with a blush and a discreet cough)!
Starting off easy with the removal of Pâté’s house and her ribbon belt, we can see the rest of her bodice, including the straps which create a high, closed back. I once saw someone describe her corset as “ye olde stays,” which is absolutely correct.
