The veil is thin, what will reach across to you?
Our last theme of the season is All Hallow Eve’s itself. Do with that as terrifies you, and tag us in the result. We’ll reblog the horrors with delight.

We’ve had a lot of prompts this month, and maybe you weren’t able to get to every one you wanted. Or you’ve got a brilliant idea that struck a couple days late.
The rest of this week is Amnesty Week! Soulless Sunday, The Monster Mash, Twisted Tuesday, Worst Wednesday, Terrific Thursday, Freaky Friday or The Saturday Scream. They’re all fair game. Go back and do any of the prompts from the last month, or combine them, and tag us! We’ll reblog it.

Things required for beauty: a good skincare routine. Hydration. Soul? Not so much....
Theme: beautiful people in horror 💋
Maybe there’s a kind and generous individual with a soul. Or perhaps not. Cheekbones that could cut you and the willingness to do so. Either way, we want to see it!
Do your brilliant thing and tag us, we’ll reblog it!

Saturdays. Perfect for slow cups of coffee and the finer points of horror. Welcome back to the Saturday Scream.
🍁 Reminder: for challenge guidelines, please see our pinned post on @all-writers-eve.
Theme: favorite symbol/object in a horror tale
Mystics symbols. Ancient relics. Old books penned in blood. Talismans that should have been left to their rest. A good bit of symbolism can add wonders to your favorite tale or your own work. Let’s hear it!
We can’t wait to see your work! Create your thing and then tag us, we’ll reblog it!

Ready to get freaky, fellows? It’s Friday, and it’s time to celebrate the end of the week with a little creativity!
🍁 Reminder: for challenge guidelines, please see our pinned post on @all-writers-eve.
Today’s theme: surreptitiously severed 🗡
Maybe it’s an arm-less hand preserved in a jar, hidden amongst books on a dusty shelf. Maybe it’s an eyeball rolling about unattended (relatable, I know). Maybe it’s a head in the freezer between the ice cream cartons.
Whatever morbid viscera comes to mind, make something spooky and then tag us, we’ll reblog it!

I’m later than late this week, but I couldn’t resist a controversial (?) worst for this past Wednesday. He’s impressionable, he’s beautiful, he’s magnetic…but none of that excuses the fact that he’s the literal worst. Dorian Gray, ladies and gents.

Terrific character goes to Johnny Depp’s charmingly frazzled Ichabod Crane!

Nothing is more unsettling than the wrong sound at the wrong time. This prompt (misplaced sound) immediately made me think of A Telltale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. Hence, the fanart below.

theme: worst creature in a horror tale
Listen.
Zombies bore the shit out of me
I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I just don’t find them interesting. Or scary. I definitely enjoy the scare-the-shit out me side of the horror genre. Love me a good jump scare. So straight up horrifying and gore have never been my favorite. And that probably part of it.
Worst creature in a horror tale? Whoever came up with zombies.

theme: terrifying creatures
So, the wendigo. My first introduction to it was the second episode of Supernatural. Honestly, most of Supernatural’s first season had it going on. It was brilliant. This episode made such great use of the setting and the monster.
I also love how this creature used to be human, but through the consequences of its actions is now something lurking in the dark and utterly terrifying.
Ah, chills.

And to sooth the ruffled feathers from yesterday, it’s Terrific Thursday. Now that we’ve ruminated on the terrible, time for the brillant.

Theme: terrifying creatures
For all the not-another-zombie, there’s some truly haunting creatures skulking about in the pages and flickering scenes of the horror genre. What scares you to death? Haunts your nightmares? Or perhaps your own nightmares have bleed onto the page.

They say swearing is good for the soul, lovely stress relief. So welcome to Stress Relief Wednesday a.k.a. Worst Wednesday. This week we’re talking creatures.

Theme: worst creatures from a horror tale
You know, sometimes what appears under the bed is terrifying and sometimes….well. Not so much. Overdone cliches, good ideas poorly executed. Convoluted lore. There’s a lot of ways to go wrong.

It’s time to twist and shout (in terror)! Now that the dad jokes are out of the way, let's get to it.
🍁 Reminder: for challenge guidelines, please see our pinned post on @all-writers-eve.
Today’s theme: a twist on a trope. There’s nothing inherently evil about using tropes in a story—in fact, one might argue that a story without some use of tropes is a very flat story indeed—but it's always refreshing to see a filmmaker or author subvert our expectations. And now, it’s your turn to do just that! To help kindle your imagination, here’s a list of common horror tropes.

Some things in life are inevitable, including but not limited to death, taxes, and monsters. Happy Monday, creatives! 👹
🍁 Reminder: for challenge guidelines, please see our pinned post on @all-writers-eve.
We’re going for the traditional scream this Monday, with the prompt: the creature of nightmares. Everyday people are capable of plenty of horrifying things all by themselves, but a good old fashioned monster is a special kind of scary. Have a favorite monster from a book or movie, or a creepy creature of your own? Write it, draw it, or feature it here!
If you drive us to check under our beds and in our closets in terror, that’s a win! Create your thing and then tag us, we’ll reblog it!
