If you think the takeaway from the end of C2 was “we don’t need to change oppressive systems we just need nice leaders” and not “rooting out corruption and evil and bringing down oppressive systems is lifelong hard work and you may not live to see it achieved” you completely missed the point.

tumblr: okay so when I was 10 years old my family went to LA. It was so hot and we were so British and dying in the heat that my Dad bribed the doorman at the Orpheum theatre to get us in somewhere, anywhere, with air conditioning - like fully "We've gone on holiday by mistake!" vibes. We didn't realise what was playing but it happened to be opening weekend for this little flick called Pirates of the Caribbean. I watched it at the Orpheum, with the organ that descends into the floor, and I was absolutely spellbound. I already knew I wanted to be an actor, and right then and there I formed a deep dream to play a swashbuckling pirate one day. I carried that dream for twenty years.

So when my agent emailed and told me that after 3 rounds of auditions and lots of tense waiting HBO wanted me to play Sharako Lohar I felt that little kid in the dark of the Orpheum somewhere in the distant past sit up and whisper, "We did it?!"

Yeah. We did it kid.
