I love the way you draw and color the twins' eyes. the menacing glow is my favorite thing! 💛

Thanks!! I'm having great fun with them too!! I know their glowing eyes are most probably just a texture thing in Legends Arceus, and I even think in that game everyone's eyes do that. They just don't react to the shader, but Ingo's iris just have the brightest colour, so we're most likely to say that his eyes actively glow.

Another thing I do is stick to the manic stare they have in the official Pokemon BW art. Eyecolour is only like 0,01 shades darker than the white of the eyes, no eyelids covering the iris; just pure madness in those eyes.

For a good while, I'd also do that gradiant from darker grey to light grey like they do in Legends Arceus and Masters Ex but I stopped at some point and just made them as piercing as possible òwó

Emmet really took a bit to get right but man i'm glad I took my time. people seem to apprechiate that.

Context:

Being completely out of rations, messed up occult pirates have crashed on Hisui to recover and trade raided goods for food. Naturally the village folk are sceptical and not very welcoming. There’s tension that threatens to ignite great violence. To try and keep it peaceful, their captain and warden Ingo of the pearl clan are meeting regularly to find solutions and solve the grievances of both parties.

Saw ya long haired Ingo , do you think Emmet would adopt long hair too? If he keep cleanly short as a way to try keep himself maintained and intacted till Ingo returns home ?

Referring to THIS post

I think long hair would suit Emmet exactly as well as Ingo since they're identical twins, but the cultural context in which they're wearing their respective hairstyles is very different.

Wearing your hair long was not uncommon in 1800s Japan, while doing so in 50s New York… well, I couldn't find any examples for that really.

In my AU, Ingo cuts his hair as soon as he stops being a warden and returns to his original time. Emmet would only have a short glimpse at his brother with long hair so he'll probably not adopt it.

Sooo…. Emmet might look really good with long hair too, but we'll never know because he'll probably never let it grow out that much.

Another train art piece! This one turned out unusually clean!

This train ride was an eventful one! When I was drawing this, someone saw and asked me if I was from the fashion industry?? Then later I helped an elderly lady get to her bus and it happened to be the same bus I needed to take so we continued to chat for the entire 1h bus ride which was really nice. I don't think I ever got asked to explain my study in such depth. And then I had tea at a cafe (a sin, i know) where there was a meeting of elderly people speaking the FINEST german west coast dialect ✨

Out of curiosity, because you draw Emmet and Ingo with very specific outfits, do you have the references for those outfits? Or even a character sheet for them? I honestly can't remember if you have ever posted one.

I do have a ref sheet and i did post it! it's only the back however because i've drawn the front to many times that I don't need a ref sheet. I started it because I wanted to figure out their sleeve wrists but then became more of a comparisson sheet between the og design and my preferred outfit. Here it is

But it's not up to date anymore in terms of their footwear. I'm going with engineer boots now. Maybe I should do an updated version that is actually a turnaround.

Cross is either a vampire or he’s been consumed by his literal demons. Maybe both. Either way, the blood in his mouth is not his own. (And Vincent’s there too because why not? The people want more!)

Since I draw warden Ingo with a samurai bun, I figured he must have long hair and I should play with that.

Yes, Ingo and Vincent braid hair and gossip like school girls. Ingo can't hold in his frustrations forever and Vincent is very good at tickling out that hot gossip tea
