Friday lunchtime run in the sun. The wind was chilly but the sun was warm so perfect for a run. I hope this lovely sunshine sticks around for the weekend.

When I got home from my run Hubby was busy working on the Cortina. He is making a parcel tray that fits in under the front dash. He got quite a bit done this afternoon which is a bonus. It is back to work tomorrow so a weird week but at least I get to work from home tomorrow.

After cleaning the kitchen and wondering what I was going to do with my ANZAC Day holiday I decided to go for a run. The wind was coming up strong but it was warm. I donned my new floral tights and headed for the big hill. The wind was howling up there and the sky looked amazing. On the beach the wind was next level so I did a wind assisted run towards home it was so much fun. My little legs could hardly keep up and my lungs sure did get a good workout. I will post a video the sand was on the move and so was I.

It was a lovely sunny warm day so I was really keen to get out for a run after work. We had to stop at the shops on the way home but still made it home in time for me to get out the door. The tide was in and the sand was soft so after battling my way up the little hill and down onto the beach I ran very slowly along the soft beach then home via the park which was heaving with soccer players. Winter is on the way.

It was a bit chilly at the start of the Chch Marathon this morning. It was great to see such a good turnout for the race. The course was nice to with all the trees and the river looking pretty. My run went well for the first half then after about 11km I just felt like the tank was empty. I pushed on to the finish and was very happy to cross the finish line. Pretty slow but race done and it was still chilly for the walk back to the car.

Well the runny nose has sort of stopped. Pretty sure it was allergy. Fingers crossed it stays away for race day. We headed in to the race expo and bib pick up this morning. It was chilly to start with but lovely when the sun came out. Fun walking through the city crunching the autumn leaves under foot. I did a little shopping at the expo. We headed home via the nursery to get some brassicas for the winter vege garden, I also got a new misting bottle for my houseplants. I don't have too much planned for the afternoon. A little housework and I will do flat Linda this evening and make sure I have everything for race day tomorrow. Hubby is sad he cannot race, his knee is still not right and Daughter has not been doing a lot of running lately, so she will not be running but they both plan to cheer me on and enjoy the race village while I am out on the course.

The sunrise was gentle and slow this morning and I took a little time to watch as the sun come up. I was working from home today and had made a list of tasks I had to complete. By lunchtime I had completed all but one task. I was pleased with my progress so headed out for a run. I am running in the Christchurch Marathon on Sunday doing the half. I wanted to do a gentle 5k around the streets in my lunch break. I just wanted to make sure my road shoes were good to go so off I went. About 3km in I got a pain in my nose which felt like something had flown up there. Holy heck, my nose started to run faster than I was. When I got home it just kept on running and has not stopped. I tested for COVID but no, maybe it is dust, who knows, the nose knows, better not be a cold. I want to run my race.

Yesterday I was flying above the clouds. Today the clouds felt like they were falling from the sky. It felt good to get out for a gentle run this morning.

Just back from a fabulous weekend in Melbourne. Daughters best friend from Kindergarten was getting married. I was thrilled to tag along with Daughter and share in the celebrations. We also visited an aquarium which had Penguins and lots of other sea critters. It was amazing. We squeezed in some shopping too. All in all it was a full on fun weekend and definitely the loveliest wedding I have attended ever.

There were spits of rain on the windscreen as we drove home today. I changed quickly and headed off out the door. I ran into the forest and up over the little hill. When I made it to the beach the tide was in and the sand was soft so progress was a bit slow. I was also stopping often to look at the amazing sky. I took some photos so you could see it too. The weird thing was it was really warm out there.

I have entered the Christchurch Marathon. I will run the half. It is in a couple of weeks. I thought I had better go run on the road a bit. It was windy but the sun was lovely. I ran a section of the course. Gonna need to find some speed from somewhere for race day but otherwise it was a good run.
