Sad Childhood

“Please, father! You hurt me!”

You could hear this from Beethoven’s house, it was the little Ludwig who complained of the usual rough and not affectionate gestures of his father: Johannes Beethoven, a particular man with problems of alcoholism. “Please!” The little boy cried, squirming from the strong father’s grip. “Shut up, Ludwig!” The latter screamed sternly, pulling his son strongly from the earlobe.

“Does it seem like time to play?! It’s time to be serious, go to the piano!” He continued. The child raised his eyes to him, blinking his eyelashes repeatedly: “B-but … we finished 10 minutes ag -… a..ah!” He exclaimed later in pain, because of the jerk just received from the rough man. “So?” Johannes asked and pushed his son violently towards the piano, causing a very audible noise. “Do you think it was a little time?! No! It’s enough to play a little game, but now you must play the piano!” he commanded with authority.

The child swallowed and got up from the ground, fixed his bluish velvet jacket and glanced insecure at his father, who instead looked at him coldly, almost angrily; from his eyes it was possible to notice that Johannes Beethoven had a very little patience, he would be able to slap his son at any moment! This is why the child was afraid, he suddenly looked down, his eyes narrowing as the blood froze.

“… so ?!” the stern father called him back, then replied: «Are you going to do as I said or not?!» Ludwig nodded, and then he sat down again in front of the piano as quickly as possibile.
