Hey, lovelies! I'm very sorry for my absence, I guess I've just fallen out of the descendants fandom. I'll always adore Disney Descendants and the fandom, as this was my first blog where I began making my own posts, befriended others in the fandom, etc. However, I sadly doubt that I'll ever fully return to this blog. :/

On a more positive note, I've decided to pop back in for today and make some posts and answer your questions! 💖

Mal and Evie!

I like to think that this pair had a ton of growth from the beginning of their relationship to the present. Initially, their views of eachother were twisted and based on the false facades that they both hid behind on the Isle, (Evie playing down her intelligence to a nearly humourous level, and Mal not allowing herself to show any emotions that could be considered "weak"), but they slowly began to warm up to eachother once they realized that there was a lot more to eachother than what meets the eye.

Mal would've taken than Evie to admit that her heart had softened for yet another individual, (the other being Jay and eventually Carlos, of course,) but it wouldn't take long before they both found themselves comfortable enough to be authentic in eachother's presence. (Mal still wasn't too keen on affection, emotional or physical, but she liked Evie enough to tolerate the unfamiliar sensation of having someone randomly grab her hand or even throw their arms around her. (Evie explained that it's called a "hug", but Mal is ninety eight percent sure she just made it up.)

When they get to Auradon, their protective sides begin to show a bit more, (Evie going off on some gossiping AKs who made a rude remark about Mal, the daughter of Maleficent sending a icy glare at some boys who were admiring the back of Evie's skirt just a little too much, etc.).

Mal isn't nearly as against affection as she used to be once she gets older. For the most part, she's entirely comfortable with tossing around a few complements and praises to others, but she still remains more guarded about things physical. She has to get close to someone before she accepts their physical affection, and she has to be very close to someone before she begins to initiate it. There a few people who make this list, such as Carlos, Jay, Lonnie, etc., but it's undeniable that Evie is at the top of that list in bold. In fact, if someone were to see Mal and Evie interact, counting how many times the purple haired girl casually grabs Evie's hands and pushes a strand of blue hair out of her face, they would likely be suprised to find that Mal has any issues with physical affection whatsoever.

Audrey, Uma, and Harry please!

First of all, I feel like I should mention how thankful I am that I was lucky enough to be a teenager with a pretty good concept of my sexuality when Descendants 3 came out, because I don't think I would have been able to handle seeing Audrey, Uma, and Harry on the screen at a younger age without having a total sexual identity crisis.

Now that that's out of the way, I like to imagine that Uma and Harry end up becoming pretty close friends with Audrey. The pair may hold some resentment for the princess at the start, but they would warm up to her faster than other AK's once they learn her full backstory, one they find suprisingly relatable.

("You were screwed over by Mal, was treated like a villain for seeking justice, and you have a mother with unreasonably high expectations?" Uma asked, sounding utterly gobsmacked.

"Yeah," Audrey replied, chuckling dryly. "I sound like I'm making it up, right?"

Harry grins toothily, dangling his arm around Audrey's shoulders as Uma allows a small smile to form on her face. "I've got a feeling that we're gonna get alone just fine.")

Audrey and Uma are able to act mature but still comfortable in eachother's presence. They can discuss any topics together without feeling embarrassed or awkward, without having to hide their views to appeal to the other person.

Harry, on the other hand, brings out a more childish side of Audrey. Making the princess crack up in the middle of class over something stupid and not very "princess-like" is one of his favorite things.

Mermaid Laws Headcanons

- Mermaids have become pretty rare, but not the most uncommon to come across since their are traveling fair’s and such that show off captured mermaids for show.

- People would also whip the mermaids while making them learn tricks to perform, which is why some mermaids have scars on their scales- but the folk in charge will just assure the audience that they are born with it.

- Their are even citizens who pay lot of money for the tail/scails of the creatures to hang up as decorations.

- It isn’t technically illegal for the folk to do so since they aren’t considered humans.

- Ariel has pointed out the lack of action being taken and that their should be laws placed in order to prevent such inhuman actions, but the Beast always just says that he is very busy but he will get around to it. He’s been that for the past twenty, or so, years.

- Ben was always to busy with princely work, even as a child, so he was completely shielded from the horrible things happening all over Auradon, which includes the whole mermaid ordeal.

- Harry Hook gets <i> pissed </i> when he finds out about this. Uma and the rest of the pirate gang are upset as well, but since Harry’s mother is a mermaid, it just strikes a special fire within him.

- Nobody is going to say that he had punched the person in charge of the fair that he had first learned about this cruelty, but nobody’s gonna say that he <i> didn’t </i> punch the man either.

- He marches up to Ben, grabs his wrist, and demandes that he fixes this issue immediately. (Harry also doesn’t let go of his wrist until he finishes signing the final document that ilegallizes cruelty to mermaids.)

- Their still are people who secretly still capture mermaids and skin them, but they are being searched for so their can be justice for their criminal actions.

- Many mermaids are still hiding all over the globe, trying their best for their entire lives to not get caught. Harry has made it his goal to track down these mermaids where they will either start up a new life, in much better conditions, or even join Uma’s crew.

I recently rewatched d3 and man. I still can’t get over that scene where jay pretty much ignored carlos in favor of talking to gil. so this little angsty piece of sadness was born . i’m sorry.

“‘Los? Carlitos? Carlos?”

Carlos looks up from the page of his physics textbook and over at Evie, who’s looking at him expectantly. Shit, he definitely hasn’t been listening. “Uh - sorry, what?”

Evie laughs indulgently and shakes her head. “I said ‘it’s late, isn’t Jay gonna be concerned if you don’t make it up to bed soon?’”

Gritting his teeth some, Carlos shrugs and returns his gaze to the book. “Nah.”

Evie scoots closer, narrowing her eyes. “Are you guys fighting?”

“No.”

She clearly doesn’t believe him. “Well, what’s with that pissy face, then?”

Carlos has been studying in her brand new sunlit workspace all afternoon - except now, the sunlight is quickly fading and she’s been forced to actually turn on the lamps on the nearby table. Although she didn’t have any extra summer school classes to study for, Evie has never been one to turn down a scientific cram session, and Carlos has to admit, he’s missed going over terms with her like this. Only, she’s moved past formulas and numbers now and into questions about his personal life, something that’s a lot more confusing than kinematics at the moment.

“Carlos de Vil, you better answer me,” she says sternly. “Is something going on? I haven’t seen you and Jay hang out in days.”

“He’s busy.” Carlos knows he’s being cryptic, but he doesn’t really care. If he says anything more, it’ll come off sounding even more bitter than it already does.

“He’s on summer vacation,” Evie argues. “There’s literally nothing on his to-do list.”

“Oh, really?” Carlos makes a face. “Tell that to the pirate.”

Evie’s forehead crinkles in confusion. “The pirate? Uma?”

Carlos has already said too much, but he shakes his head and concentrates on reading the next passage in his textbook. Once. Twice. A third time.

“Harry?”

A fourth time. He still hasn’t processed a single word. What section is his next exam on again? A fifth time.

“Oh, Gil,” Evie pauses, “That’s right - I did see them leaving this morning together -” And then, she gasps softly. Carlos doesn’t have the heart to look up at her, but he figures the warm glow from the lamp is doing that thing where it makes her face glow. “Carlos… you don’t think…?”

“Yeah, I do.” The words on the page have started to blur now and he slams the book shut. “I think they’re fucking. Or… or more.” He can’t bring himself to say it.

“They danced together, didn’t they?” Evie frowns. “At the party last weekend?”

“Yeah.”

“It’s so… out of the blue.” Evie shakes her head. “Did they interact at all before then?”

Carlos’ chest aches just thinking about it. “Yeah. In the woods. Jay got all flirty about berry bushes and penguins and whatever else they were talking about together.”

Very slowly, Evie places a gentle, comforting hand on his shoulder. When he flinches a little, she backs off. “Sorry, I -”

“No, it’s fine.” He flushes some, grabbing her hand and putting it back. “Involuntary. I don’t mind when you do it.”

She smiles sadly at him, shaking her head. “I love you.”

He jerks his head up some. They don’t say those three words to each other very often - only when they are in really deep shit or one of them has been seriously hurt. “It’s… it’s not that bad,” he tells her quietly. “You don’t need to say that. I’m not dying or anything.”

“No,” Evie says sadly. “But your heart is broken. And I know what that feels like.”

Carlos mulls that over. His chest burns whenever he closed his eyes and sees Jay and Gil dancing or laughing or sitting close together. His eyes burn, too, whenever Jay blows him off or forgets to answer his texts. He isn’t sure how his heart could break before he realized he was in love, but somehow, it has. “I think… I think I love him.”

“I know.” Evie rubs his shoulder gently. “I saw. I think he loved you, too, you know. At one point.”

Carlos doesn’t know if that makes it better or worse. “I don’t want to hate Gil. I don’t. That just makes me… a bad person. He didn’t do anything… wrong. Just… was a better version of me somehow.”

“No one is a better version of you,” Evie growls fiercely, kissing the back of his neck. “You are the ultimate version, Carlos.”

“I don’t know why this hurts so badly.” Maybe, on some level, he’s always shoved his own emotions for Jay aside, expecting to be always overshadowed by some girl. “None of the girls hurt like this. I guess… maybe… I thought that if Jay ever dated a boy… it would be me.” It stung more than he expected to say it out loud.

“Carlos…” Evie says softly, “I’m… so sorry.”

“You get it, though.” Carlos stares at her. “I see the way you look at Mal. And she’s engaged now.”

Evie’s mouth opens and then shuts slowly. She seems to be at a loss for words.

“It’s okay,” Carlos shrugs. “I’m not gonna tell her or anything. Just means you and I are in the same stupid self-pity boat.”

“I guess so.” Her gaze drifts to her lap. “I didn’t know I was that obvious.”

“She’s just oblivious,” Carlos shrugs. “Jay, too, I guess. You’d be great with her.”

“And you’re perfect for him.”

Carlos doesn’t believe her. If he were perfect, he would be the one Jay asked to go traveling with. If he were perfect, he wouldn’t have to watch Jay leave with Gil every single morning. If he were perfect, Jay would want him instead of someone else.

Do y'all ever just think about Jay in the middle of a Tourney game.. sweat beginning to trickle down his face, his knees a little wobbly from exhaustion... taking a moment to glance at the crowd... his eyes scanning across students shouting their lungs out with excitement, waving around handmade signs... only for his eyes to focus on a single boy with glistening white hair, staring back at Jay with a broad smile.. a jacket that was hanging in Jay's closet earlier that day, engulfing the boy's smaller frame... and Jay can't help but grin, completely forgetting about the game until a teammate lightly shakes him out the should, snapping him out of his daze... and he hurries back into position.. still grinning ear to ear with newfound energy..
