Happy Munday!

Life's been crazy! Usually this is where I'd place an apology for anybody waiting for more content, but I ain't doing that. You get me when you get me, and I'm not sorry for slowing down my posts.

Although, I am sorry for anyone who was looking to send stuff via inbox only to find it closed. I'm currently in a state I call "plot locked" and I'm about ready to move on as soon as possible. But that's going to take... time.

I will most likely be doing monochrome / sketching for plot posts in order to move things along.

Here's what I'm working on right now:

Seems like a tall order when I put it all out there, huh.

Anyway! What's really really funny about all of this is that this is basically been one GIANT prologue and I hope to really kick things into gear after this current Act.

What?

Yeah, you read that right.

The tone's going to shift a little, too. It's going from semi serious stuff to a lot more silly of a tone. Things are a little tense right now, plot-wise, and they're going to get more tense. BUT it's all just one big set up to me getting to goof off with a sandbox of characters.

If anything, this current act and the small mini act afterwards is going to be my full test of "Do I want to keep doing this?" because it's conclusive enough to leave an open ending. That being said, the magic 8-ball is constantly returning with "yes, absolutely" so you'll probably be seeing me for years to come because I don't plan on stopping!

Anyway, thanks for reading this far, I really hope you've been enjoying my blog! I'm excited for what I have to show you.

Adding Choro's words, her demeanor, the business card's motto, and the symbolism behind the winged mythology, Rio put two and two together to form an answer she really, really didn't like.

Rio slowly backed away from the card, her face twisting in confused dread, but thought better of it and shoved it in the spice drawer.

There's a better time to unpack all of that, which definitely isn't now.

Ayumi laughs, coming to her own conclusion: dating these days is weird.

(@askpokecallcenter ) Choro sat down nonchalant by the stall and slided 800 PokeYen towards Rio. "Oi, big Lady, could i get a Miso Ramen, please? I'm starving over here~" Choro ignores Rios stare and starts a little chit chat with Ayumi. "Are you a newbie? What do you usually work, hun?" Now she turns to Rio "And you dont look like what you seem to be~ My, my what a bunch" and slides another 100 Yen when she is done eating

Rio sizes you up. A mixture of confusion and suspicion wash over her face, as if she's trying to solve a complex puzzle. She notices that you aren't what you seem, either.

"I'm just fillin' in for the froakie-man!" Ayumi returns, smiling at the "big lady" compliment. On the complete flip side of Rio, she seems happy at the casual and upfront language.

A piping hot bowl of miso ramen, a worker's meal! Enough to lift your spirits, for sure. But... that doesn't seem necessary. You're already there, after all.

It never gets any better. 

Tonight, she wanted some fresh air so she found herself stepping mere feet away from camp. She never roamed without a weapon at her side. Be it her rifle or a knife strapped at her thigh. 

It took a special kind of breed to be completely immune to the conflict brewing at hand. She wasn’t impervious to it, a shaking hand clutching tightly onto dog tags. Despite the mask she put on, it broke the moment she stepped away.

Anger. Grief. 

Metal painfully dug into her palm. 

“Why haven't you intervened?” Hateful eyes pitted upon the Tower, its glory untouched among the strife.

There was a unique trait with this individual; she was accustomed to putting on a facade. She had a mobile face that marked her–vivid and distinctive when she was surrounded by friends, she could turn it bland and forgettable while working. The perfect mask suited for spying.

Her battalion never understood why she was here. She had the skills to operate well beyond a common foot soldier.  

She never elaborated on why. Her answer was always emigamatic followed by a bark to get back to their camps. 

Soon they stopped asking. Captain was reliable and they never wanted anyone to replace her.

Munday Tuesday Lore Post - Unovan Kingdoms and Wars

Twin Heroes

At the end of a struggle for independence from the Paldean Empire, two human brothers arose from the chaos to bring an end to Paldean rule in the region. 

These two brothers were heralded as the Twin Heroes, backed by an all powerful dragon. 

The brothers agreed that they needed to be ready in the potential event of another invasion. The Twin Heroes dreamed of a unified nation, leading to them split their dragon and travel eastward and westward to strengthen their numbers.

In the West, the Vidraco Kingdom started as a conglomerate of various tribes indigenous to the region. Composed of draconic cultures of harsh lands, they came to recognize the strength of the Hero of Ideals.

In the East, the Vellumblanc Kingdom combined the native population with the remnants of Paldean and Kalosian colonists. Benevolently led by the Hero of Truth, Vellumblanc flourished as a contender for world trade. 

The First Unovan Civil War

When the brothers met again after twenty years, in what is now known as Relic Castle, they disagreed with each others’ methods and ideologies. In the name of their kings, the people of Vidraco and Vellumblanc fought a bloody five-year war before an armistice was signed.

With no clear winner, both kingdoms believed that they lost. Vellumblanc and Vidraco were ravaged, with social and economic livelihoods taking a downturn. Ten years of misery passed, ending with the untimely demise of both kings, distraught as their dream of a unified region fell apart.

The Second Unovan Civil War

The kingdoms and dragons were inherited by the Twin Heroes’ sons, both of whom grew restless at the inaction of their fathers post-armistice. In their inexperience, the new kings disregarded their advisors and continued the war. Although a breaking of armistice means the continuation of the first war, this new conflict is still considered by most to be the second Unovan Civil War.

Not long after the fighting began, the commonwealth of each kingdom paid a higher price in food, resources, and population in order to continue the fight. The people of these two kingdoms, no longer enchanted by the benevolence of their old kings, had enough of the conflict. A new middle faction was born from insurgency and rebellion, with the main driving force being none other than the draconic shell left behind of Reshiram and Zekrom's split: Kyurem.

Vidraco and Vellumblanc, slowly hemorrhaging their citizens to this new united faction, couldn't fight each other and an insurgency at the same time. Before long, both kingdoms crumbled and the Unovan Republic rose from their ashes.

Most of the events of the second civil war are shrouded in mystery. While each kingdom regarded the preservation of history to be paramount, much of it was lost. Traces of the times are strewn about everywhere, with little to be gained from carved stones, written parchment, or glyphs on the walls of Relic Castle and the Abyssal Ruins…

… and that’s by design. 

Just as the Order intended.
