Hi there. Just curious if you are self taught with oil painting? When did you start and when did you feel confident enough to post your art online? - an unconfident newbie
I am not self taught and did go to art school. However, I didn't start making any kind of art until I was a senior in high school (I was denied by multiple art schools also). I was originally a photography major and didn't pick up oils until my second year of college! I started posting here sometime shortly after around 2013?
It is never too early to start posting your art online. There is no harm that can come of it, so I always recommend it! Also nearly all the same technical skills can be learned at a community college. Many art centers also have beginner workshops and courses, too! I have a patreon where I've put my own video lessons on portraiture as well.
