The Librarian! One of the most interesting characters in contrast to how little we actually see of her. Her fate is so sad and so messed up, being mind-controlled forever. I’m glad she’s safe now, but I would like to know more about her. I wanted to give her a sort of ‘plain’ and ‘unassuming’ look about her, but still distinct enough to think ‘this is someone important.’

Albatross, Murder Peepaw. He’s like...between Arctic and Darkstalker for me as far as ‘mad animus’ goes. I could 100% see the seeds of where his actions were coming from and it was hard not to blame him for wanting Queen Lagoon dead. But he crossed the line when he turned on his whole family, including his son and daughter. I want either a Winglet on him or a Legends book. I want to know more about him and his life before the massacre. I also like giving older SeaWings longer barbells on their chins.

And him, the stinky man that nobody ended up liking and has some favourites (both the normal enjoyers and the...concerning ones). His story is a compelling one, for sure, but I don’t hold the same amount of affection towards Arctic as I do towards Darkstalker. But! He has his place for good reason and his life under Queen Diamond is nothing short of...telling.

I also love how we’ve collectively decided to give Darkstalker more IceWing traits/making him look more like his father specifically because we know it would piss him off.

Foeslayer/Hope herself. Personal headcanon that she has ADHD based on her characterization in Runaway. I’m glad she can finally have a peaceful life to raise her son, again. She deserves to just...relax and be at peace for once in her life. I wanted to make her look a little bit like Darkstalker to give more of a sense of familial resemblance.

And in this corner, Clearsight’s mother, Swiftwings. We never really get anything with her, which I find sad. I think it’s really sad how distant Clearsight is from her parents. I would’ve liked to know more about them or seen them more.

Clearsight’s father, whom was never given a name in canon, so I decided to call him Watchful. I thought it was fitting for him, since he was so worried and fretful over Clearsight.

I’ll admit, I did have a bit of trouble with Queen Vigilance. Even now, I’m not 100% satisfied with how she looks, I may end up redoing her in the future, but it’s fine for now. I wanted to make her look elegant and sort of ethereal and ‘like an ideal NightWing,’ but I made her snout a little short to make her seem ‘short-sighted.’

It’s interesting seeing the difference between Queen Vigilance and Queen Diamond. They’re both so awful for different reasons. Queen Vigilance is extremely paranoid and distrustful and looks for short-term gain and doesn’t consider the consequences of her actions. Meanwhile, Queen Diamond is impulsive, rash, unpredictable, and is really bad at looking at the big picture when it comes to her decisions, looking very narrowly at her own personal goals and nothing else.

Allknowing was a lot of fun to design. I have a personal headcanon that she’s Morrowseer’s ancestor, so I wanted to get across the same sort of attitude. I wanted her to be dark and imposing, like a living shadow, with her horns curled up ever so slightly so that she evokes this feeling of being the devil on Queen Vigilance’s shoulder.

Underrated favourite, honestly. I really liked Indigo. She has a good sense of humour, is very protective of Fathom, and all she wants is for him to be happy the way he wants to be, not what anyone else wants to be. I’m glad they both got their happy ending. It’s what they both deserve. I wanted to give her a tougher more nonconventional look, so I gave her basically the SeaWing equivalent of a Roman nose.
