Richard Ramirez’s Medical Record contained little information except for a lengthy medical report pertaining to Ramirez’s visits to County-USC Medical Center in 1983.

The records, obtained from the hospital at the request of the prosecution, primarily concern a two-week hospitalization in September, 1983, in which Ramirez was treated for an infection to a finger on his right hand.

Ramirez told doctors that he had been bitten on the hand by a man whom he had punched in the mouth.

The records also included a report on a subsequent hospital visit that December, in which Ramirez was treated for a cut on his right hand.

Timeline Update

I added some dates and info. 

During the past months I did a lot of research regarding Richard. The things I found I saved in a kind of “working timeline” , that I want to share with you today. It is far from being complete and it contains also events regarding other people in Richards life and details which maybe are not very relevant, but I saved them anyway, bc. they helped me to structure my research. This timeline contains also crimes, Richard was suspected to have committed them, but was never charged of them, or charges were dropped bc. of lack of evidence. These crimes are written in cursive. The sources for this timeline are mostly old newspaper-articles. I tried to avoid the known documentaries and Philip Carlo’s book.

1968           Richards brothers were molested by a teacher, who also came to their house, where he probably also had contact with Richard

01/31/1970 Roberto, 18 (?) and Julian (19) arrested, „auto burglary“

12/02/1970 Julian (20) arrested, auto theft  (out on bond on three similar charges)

1970-1972  epileptic seizures at school, hospitalized in 1970 and 1972, doctor prescribed phenobarbital in 1972 which Richard took for about 1,5 years (he stopped taking it on his own)

04/22/1973 gas explosion / Miguel Valles, 23, Josefina Valles, 22 critical condition, Miguel Valles jr., 5, dead (born Sept. 21, 1967), Jose (?Pablo?) Valles, 2, injured

1973 Richards sister married (divorce in 1978), Richard was very depressed and afraid bc. she was leaving. In late 1974 Richards niece was born (pic of her first communion was used in court to give Richard an alibi) .

1974-1977 Jefferson Highschool, El Paso

05/04/1975 Cousin Miguel Ramirez Valles (25) shot his wife Josefina in front of Richard and the two children of Miguel (P., 6, and O., 3) 

05/15/1975 Josefina Valles died at Thomason General Hospital

1976 Richard was thrown from a horse when he tried to ride it while high on acid. He injured his arm, ribs and head and suffered a concussion. (in a letter he wrote that it happenen at 3 a.m. and that he was hospitalized for „a month or so“ - however that story seems to be true)

1977           Richard dropped out of school (early 1977)

1977           was sent to a half-way house for delinquent youths

12/07/1977 arrest on suspicion of marijuana possession (first entry in El Paso police records)

1978           pretrial intervention programm (marijuana possession)

1979           charge of marijuana possession dismissed (insuff. evidence)

1979           Richard went to LA and lived there with his brother Julian Jr during  the first year. After a fight over who should pay for a car repair Richard moved out.

1979           met Donna Myers when she went down to El Paso with Armando Rodriguez and Tony Reys, two friends from the San Francisco area. Richard was a friend of Armando’s in El Paso

1980          spent summer in SF, lived in Richmond with Earl Gregg for 4 months (May to October) and later in other parts of the Bay Area (until 1983)

10/07/1980 death of his best friend, Nicholas Nevarez, in a gruesome traffic accident. Richard was in the back seat when a van, driven by another friend, crashed into a fence. His friend got impaled, the pole went right through him. Richard saw the whole thing.

1981          Pasadena, petty theft charge, first arrest in California

1982          pleaded guilty of marijuana possession, 50 days suspended sentence and fined 115$

1983          moved to LA  (in late 1983 acc. to Earl Gregg), in LA started injecting cocaine

1983          imprisoned in LA for nearly five months on an auto theft conviction

Sept. 1983 hospitalized for 2 weeks at LA County-USC Medical Center and treated for an infection on a finger of his right hand (bc., as he told the doctors, he had been bitten on the hand by a man whom he had punched in the mouth)

Dec. 1983 treated for a cut on his right hand at County-USC Medical Center (still the same injury or was it a new cut?)

March 1984 acc. to Earl Gregg his last meeting with Richard, who told him that he had broken off a needle in his arm while trying to inject cocaine

03/25/1984 medical record on which Richard listed his address as Coronado Hotel, 373 Ellis Street, SF

04/10/1984 Mei „Linda“ Leung murdered / 765 O'Farrell Street, SF (TL Hotel)

May 1984   in early May Richard was back in LA and stayed until August

06/28/1984 Jennie Vincow, murdered in Glassel Park (stabbed repeatly, nearly decapitated)

11/13/1984 Masataka Kobayashi is found dead in his Nob Hill apartment at  1111 Pine St. (SF)  later (first in 1987, again in 2016, SFPD said that they suspect another man, who molested a relative of Kobayashi, but they have not enough evidence to charge him)

12/1984     Richard met Felipe Solano at the bus depot, where Solano was waiting to take a trip to tijuana and started to sell him stolen goods (until August 1985) – Later during the trial Solano admitted that he met Richard already in late August 1984.

12/12/1984 arrested (mugshot) for car theft in San Pedro, Richard had apparently lived several days in the stolen car.

12/17/1984 Richard pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor violation and was sentenced to 75 days in jail, less eight days already served. (used alias Richard Munoz Moreno)

01/23/1985 released from LA County Jail (?? +/-)

01-07 1985 acc. to Sandra Hotchkiss about 25 nonviolent daytime burglaries in Atwater, Los Feliz, Pasadena, Silverlake, Glendale, West LA, Montrose and Santa Monica

02/20/1985 Mary and Christina Caldwell, ages 70 and 58, respectively, are stabbed dozens of times in their Telegraph Hill (SF) apartment.

02/25/1985 a 6-year-old girl was abducted from Wilcox Elementary School in     Montebello

03/05/1985 dentist records, Dr. Peter Leung, LA (first visit / 732 North Broadway / using alias Richard Mena)

03/11/1985 a 9-year-old boy was abducted from his home in Monterey Park between 9 and 10 p.m.

03/17/1985 Maria Hernandez, Dayle Okazaki, 8510 Village Lane, Rosemead / Tsia-Lian Yu, near 524 N Alhambra Avenue, Monterey Park (shot .22)

03/20/1985 an 8-year-old girl was abducted from her home in Glassel Park

03/27/1985 Vincent and Maxine Zazzara, Strong Avenue, Whittier (shot, .22, Maxine Z.: eyes gouged out)

April 1985  shortly after Easter (April 7th), Richard tried to sell a .25 (?) automatic to Earl Gregg and showed him also a black small-caliber revolver. He had also a couple of rifles for sale (acc. to Gregg, source Carlo – source says too, that Halpin during the trial showed Gregg the pistol recovered in Tijuana. And Gregg said that it looked similar . The gun was missing when the jury began deliberations.) However, Richard apparently was in SF in  April 1985.

05/09/1985 burglary Clara Hadsall, 424 West Olive Street, Monrovia (not charged bc. Victim died before trial began, but fingerprints and Avia-footprints found in her house, were used as evidence)

05/14/1985 William and Lilian Doy, Monterey Park, 1586 Trumbower Avenue                        (shot .22), Lilian Doy survived

08/28/1985  car was taken to Orange County early in the morning and searched with laser/superglue etc., a fingerprint was found on the rear view mirror, it was fed to database and produced about 100 fingerprint sets bearing similarities, which had to be looked at by hand, they also got hints from persons who knew Richard (Donna Myers,

08/28/1985 LA City Council authorized a $25,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension ofthe Night Stalker (increasing the total reward on more than $60.000)

08/29/1985  Deleen Gregg went to the police with a gold bracelet (engraved with a CA driver licence number) and a pearl ring, saying that she got them from a certain Rick, who sometimes stayed with her mother

10/09/1985  Richard fired Adashek and engaged  Joseph Gallegos as his attorney

When he came back to San Quentin, the metal detector went off and they found a metal canister in his rectum, containing a part of a handcuff key, a ball point pen, a hypodermic needle and a sticker, saying ‘I love chocolate’.

02/19/2017 Lynda Doi Fick, daughter of William and Lillian Doi, was shot to death in her house in Covina at age 68. Suspect in the killing is her son (36), whose girlfriend was shot to death too, her 2 year old son was shot too and was taken to a hospital.

ALLEGEDLY !!!

Richard Ramirez was allegedly, a woman named Brandie’s babysitter all throughout late 1983-1984. (8 months)

She explained in the interview she had with a channel called “Bizarre Bazaar” that she had met Richard Ramirez when she was about 6-7 years old.

“She (Brandie’s mother) saw him, she went up to him and asked him if he would like to earn some money”

He had agreed to the job and was apparently always in time and he worked really well. Brandie claims that he was always very nice and polite with her, he would ask her if she had done her homework and would even help her with her homework. She also mentioned he would talk to her in a playful manner and would always sound cheerful as well as offering to play board games or read a book. She also recalled him to be a quiet guy.

“He was different around me”

“I think with me, he was a different person, to me he was Richard, he was Richie”

Brandie also recalls that he would stay for dinner or make dinner for the family and how he would use the shower, he was very well liked by her mother and would hug him. He would also take naps on the couch.

She also remembers that he would start watching the news around 7 or 8 and how he would even speak of the Nightstalker and would say

“I wonder when the Nightstalker will strike again”

In 1985, when Ramirez was arrested, Brandie and her mother went to see him, all he could say was “sorry”.

In later years, Brandie, now an adult decided to visit him in San Quentin.

So what do you guys think ? Fake or real ?

This is a letter I posted a while back (to Eva)

As you can see, he in the letter I posted, he said

“I used to have a girl in LA. She was blonde and only 17 years old. She ran away from home, she was from Minnesota. Me and her used to roam the streets. She got picked up by police and I never saw her again.”

In a letter someone else posted, it looks that he is speaking about the same girl again...how interesting, you think she’s still alive ?

”I met a girl in Los Angels once we dated a few times then she moved away all of a sudden. I wonder to this day how she’s doing.”

An Instagram user by the name of “darkprince4564” had purchased one of Ramirez’s prison owned books.

They noted that this must have been the main book he used as a “desk” to write all his letters. As you can see, there are markings on the book, even of his signature ! They even noticed words and even smiley faces on the cover.

The original poster also pointed out that as they looked through the book, they noticed that Ramirez actually cut out all of the religious symbols that include crosses, they even looked up the original photos and put them side to side.

This is a screenshot I took from “just a guy” of one of the more clearer, full letters that belong to Eva O, the former girlfriend of the nightstalker. I like posting her letters b/c they’re very personal and interesting.

It says:

“Eva, how come you want to see my hands ? I have no camera. Do you believe in voodoo ? So I had your picture and then it was gone. So would you send another one. I will give you anything, anything you desire. Have you played the lottery ? Have you received my letters ? New York is alright. Coney Island is great, Minnesota is cold, Chicago is windy, Arizona is hot. Acid, yes I took LSD lots of times, love the shit. Do you take it ? It made my mind race. Made my body feel tight. This is my room, I stay in this fucking room too long. If you ask me and if you don’t ask me, well, I’m telling you ayuh. When’s your birthday ? In Jan ? 23rd ? I think so right but I forgot. It’s nighttime, I’m so sick, all these asshole pigs (continue ?) to look at me. Can you (imagine ?) what it’s like to be (watched ?) every 15 minutes for (???) day + night. Pt. 1: Mei Leung

Mei Leung was a little nine year old girl who lived in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. On April 10, 1984, both her and her eight year old brother went looking for a dollar bill that they lost, the kids eventually ended up separating which left Mei Leung looking for the dollar bill on her own.

Later, Mei’s brother went looking for her and went into the basement to see if she was there, he saw the most horrifying sight anyone could ever see, he saw his lost sister’s partially nude body hanging by a blouse over a pipe.

The poor girl had been beaten, stabbed, & raped. Her murder had been described as a “ritual style slaying”.

Unfortunately, at the time there were no potential suspects that could’ve possibly murdered the young girl so the case went cold for 25 years until Holly Pera, a cold case detective reopened the case.

“Trace evidence from the murder scene was submitted to the department’s crime lab. Matthew Gabriel, a DNA technician, made the match.”

“Ramirez’s DNA was found on a handkerchief with a secondary sample, leading to some speculation he might have an accomplice.”

It was later learned that Ramirez lived six blocks away from Mei’s apartments, it is thought that he was trying to enter some apartments to steal valuables but stumbled across poor Mei. If this theory is true then this might have been the catalyst for Ramirez’s rampage which started two months later.

Richard Ramirez made no comments on the murder case, he wasn’t tried for it either since he was already on death row.

After 2009, Mei Leung is said to be the very first victim of the Nightstalker. Who knows if we’ll uncover any more.

In Jermaine Jackson’s book, “You Are Not Alone” he claims that “Smooth Criminal” was loosely inspired by the Richard Ramirez murders. The murders themselves occurred in ‘84/‘85, when Michael was reportedly turning out a ton of song lyrics/ideas for the “Bad” album.

Jermaine said that Michael never publicly disclosed his inspiration, because he knew it wouldn’t sound good for the then “squeaky clean” Michael Jackson to be writing a song based on a very real, very recent serial killer.

I finally found the video on Misty explaining her thoughts on her correspondence with the nightstalker and her experience meeting him.

Thirteen days after Richard Ramirez’s arrest, Dr. Jerry Vale visited the jail to take a series of pictures of Richard’s teeth as they’d appeared that day. The teeth, he described, were jagged and decayed, and some were missing in both the lower and upper gums. He also did a gelatin cast of the lower and upper teeth. 

Over the period of nine months, Dr. Alfred Otero, another dentist, repaired all nine of Richard’s decayed teeth and filled them with a compound substance.

“They were very friendly, outgoing people,” one neighbor said.

“He was always planting trees. After he moved in, he must have planted 75 of them around his house. He used to laugh about it with me and say he did it ‘cause he liked to dig the holes,” a friend said.

36 years ago, Vincent Zazzara and his wife Maxine were found murdered in their home, Maxine’s eyes missing. Mr. Zazzara was found shot in the head on the couch, Mrs. Zazzara had been stabbed to death.

The Zazzaras had lived in the neighborhood, which abuts the 605 Freeway, for eight years. A retired investment counselor, he was owner of Circus Foods, a Whittier pizza parlor only blocks from his home. He had two daughters, three sons and four grandchildren. Mrs. Zazzara, a Downey attorney, had one daughter. She belonged to several civic organizations and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Downey, where she sang in the choir.

“Nico Claux was a former morgue attendant and grave robber, he was arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison for killing a homosexual. While he was working at the morgue he would eat strips of muscles from corpses, he would even go as far as taking them home to cook.”

Nico Claux wrote Richard Ramirez in prison and would even send him some of his artwork.
