i'd avoided saying anything on this blog before partly bc i haven't been that active on it for a while, partly bc i don't usually bring politics here, and partly bc i wanted to wait until i had a new chapter updated to make my stance known(as that's where i can reach the largest audience since not everyone who's read FMF or CTF follow me here) but i think remaining silent - and especially as long as i have - lends itself to appearing like i simply don't care and/or that i support the ethnic cleansing and genocide israel's government has committed to achieving in palestine, and i don't want that. i never want that. politics are personal, human rights are personal, and this blog and this user very much stand with the palestinian people in their fight for ceasefire and liberation.

to everyone who celebrates, i genuinely do hope you have a personally merry christmas, but it rings at least a little hollow to give the normal generalized greeting without acknowledging the abject slaughter happening in the place where the holiday's central figure was born. still, i hope the season is kind to all of you and that the world will be kinder to all of us tomorrow than it was today or yesterday. from the river to the sea, palestine will be free🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of yandere, but I can clearly see the greens and the blacks as yanderes for Jace.

Romantic Yanderes: Aemond, Aegon II, Baela, Daeron, Cregan and Lucerys

Platonic Yanderes: Rhaenyra, Daemon, Viserys, Corlys, Rhaenys, Joffrey, Rhaena, Helaena, Aegon III, Viserys II, Laenor, Harwin, Alicent and Otto

It may seem strange, but I can see Alicent creating an obsession with Jace when she sees in him the younger version of Rhaenyra, the one who was her best friend and unlike what happened with Rhaenyra, she decides to “save” Jace and do everything to keep him in the path that she considers correct. She sees in him a second chance, and she will be damned if she loses it.

Otto, on the other hand, sees in Jace a way to get what he wants, which is to put Aegon II on the throne and prevent Rhaenyra from assuming her birthright. After all, if Jace and Aegon get married and Aegon usurps his sister's throne, even more people would be willing to support him, since both bloodlines will be united and will continue on the Iron Throne through their children, which would be the perfect solution for the misogynistic lords of Westeros who do not accept a woman on the Iron Throne and to avoid a war, in addition to putting Rhaenyra in a complicated position, against her own son. In his ambition, when Otto begins to observe Jace more closely, he realizes how intelligent and capable he is as an heir to the throne, Otto wishes his own grandson was like that. Later, when his admiration, initially spiteful and then genuine, intensifies, he becomes even more invested in his plans. After all, if Jace is (unfortunately) not his grandson by blood, he will become one through marriage.

Imagine how the Alicent x Rhaenyra and Daemon x Otto conflicts would intensify in this scenario? While Alicent and Otto are extremely invested in "saving" Jace from Daemyra's "vile influence", Rhaenyra and Daemon are willing to do whatever is necessary to free their eldest son from the Hightowers' clutches.

Poor Jace! He would be the center of the war. The greens and the blacks would not just be fighting for the iron throne, but mainly for him.

!! i'm very familiar with the concept of yanderes (it's one of my fav flavors!!🤭) and anon your mind!!😳🧠🤯🤯 i do think out of all of them otto might be the hardest sell/maybe the least attached yandere bc jace definitely has his own opinions, for all that he values outside advice, and otto's main issue with seating daemon or rhaenyra as heir was they were too strong-minded for him to fully control/coral. so yeah i think that would be a point of contention at least early on but you're right and i don't think it'd be impossible to change his mind (jace and his silvertongue is very important to me and i'd love to see it pitted against otto LOL)

Daemon twines their fingers together over Jace’s mark. The heat burns through him, flushing his cheeks as his heart pounds. He’s caught in Daemon’s gaze, back pressed against cold stone and the warmth of Daemon’s body looming over him. His hair glows silver in the shadows, gently brushing Jace’s cheeks as Daemon leans his face close to his own. Lips glance against his, whispers of hot breath heating the air around them.

“Little dragon is there something you need to tell me?” murmurs Daemon. His eyes flicker to Jace’s lips, but his gaze settles firmly on Jace.

Jace stares wide-eyed and mute. He thinks of how these words have chased him through all his life. He looks carefully into the faces of all those he meets. As much as he enjoyed Aegon’s company when they were children, he knew the man was capable of enjoying the torment of others. Aemond was proof of that. Aemond, Jace thinks. When his uncle held that rock over their heads, he thought he was bringing the doom that’s been inked into his skin since birth. The terrible glee and triumph in Aemond’s face had scared Jace, not just for his life, but that the Gods were so cruel to fashion him to a boy so filled with hatred. Would he be yoked to that hatred himself? Would he be pushed into the deepest pits of himself and delight in other’s humiliation? It was a relief that Luke had defended all of their honor, Jace and his dear cousins both when he took that knife and only ripped Aemond’s eye out. Jace won’t ever regret that only an eye died that night.

But Aemond still haunts him. Following him throughout the Red Keep in his last visit, his lone eye fixed firmly on Jace’s every move. Now he chases Jace. He’s taken Luke. There’s no body, no remains of either him and Arrax. Jace wakes gasping from tormented sleep, face wet with tears and clawing at his skin, hoping he could rend the words from himself. Everyday has been filled with dread and waiting to hear those words from a man he’ll die hating. A man he’s destined to kill. And yet.

Daemon still stares at him, he’s violet eyes dark and hungry as he waits for Jace to respond. Jace breathes in shakily, half hope half agony. He’s traded one kinslayer for another, and one wed to his mother. This pushes him to shake his head. No, he won’t be the cause of his mother’s ruin.

Daemon stills. Neither moves for a long moment, before Daemon lurches forward ripping Jace’s doublet open. Jace tries to squirm away, but Daemon already has the words exposed to the night’s air. Gooseflesh scatters across his skin, the cool air brushing against him. Daemon’s hands grip his naked hips, fingers hot brands around the dark words. Daemon presses a nail against the first letters, lightly scratching the mark. Jace shivers, face hot and his pants tighten. He realized in rising humiliation that Daemon’s hold has awakened him from the misery he’s been living since receiving the news of Luke.

Daemon hums quietly. “Ah, this is what has been keeping you from sleep, byka jorrāelagon?” Daemon clicks his tongue. “Jacaerys if you ever hide yourself from me again, you will not like what happens next.”

If there’s anyone who is going to Mansplain, Manipulate and Murder it’s Daemon and the gaslighting is going to be off the charts. Hilariously what Jace doesn’t know is that Rhaenyra knows about Daemons contingency plan because she’s the one that first thought to do it 🫣🤭 *whispers* with Harwin and Laenor 🤭🤭🤭

Jace grips the fabric tightly, hands shaking from rage or grief he knows not.

“Why him?” He says. “He was a babe, what justice is a babe’s life for my brother’s? “

Daemon remains silent, his face placid.

“I asked you to spare him, I saved him and you—you killed him.” Jace whispers.

Daemon gently catches his hands and lowers them. With a jolt, Jace realizes they’re leaning close together in a secluded hallway. Daemon slowly raises a hand and catches Jace’s chin in a soft caress.

“I do not regret killing him, not even for you."

Jace’s hand flies to his hip. Daemons hand follows and presses firmly through the fabric of Jace’s doublet where his words burn. Where their words burn.
