Yes this is true for Nightmare

I have been searching the internet for more information on Nightmare's goop and what it does, as it is not entirely clear to me what its capabilities are. I have heard it described as invulnerable to magical and physical attacks on Philocake's journal, but there is no mention of it in Joku's blog (I could have missed it). Enough rambling though and onto my question; would you happen to have any more clear information on his goop?

(Sorry to pester you with a question on Dreamtale when you have your own original and, I'm sure, interesting work).

It is indeed invulnerable to almost anything except Dream's positivity. It is made of the other apples Nightmare ate, only excluding the one that didn't become his soul. It can take on almost any shape and will grow in mass the more negativity is present around him. If someone is touched or held by it for too long it will begin to burn them like acid. When moved at extremely high speeds his tentacles (also made from said goop) can be used like blades and cut things, like people or monsters, in half.

I've been Looking for statement and stuff for Dream tale Au for a while now and I was Wondering if this Wiki say Cannon info about what Nightmare can do since I can't find Joku statement of Nightmare ability's https://undertale-au-characters.fandom.com/wiki/Corrupted!_Nightmare

I've never seen a wiki that actually gets pretty close to a character in accuracy, but apparently someone's been doing their research for once. The only thing they got wrong is magic attacks can't split him in half, he's invulnerable to almost anything except positive magic and he has full control over his tentacles. Not only that but he can split parts of himself off and have them do things seperate from the main body, and his goop is acidic. He can take on the internal negative voice of people without them realizing he's there and influence emotions and thoughts with his presence (kind of negative aura related.). I might be forgetting a power or two, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Another thing they got wrong unrelated to powers is he's not solely the human that killed Nim, the human that killed Nim is simply a part of the larger entity itself.

How coding abilities work in EdgeVerse

We basically tried to balance and make them not so OP

These are the abilities that will replace code manipulation for most Outcodes that have code manipulation

Code stitching- similar what fatal error does, you have to steal code from beings or objects by destroying/killing it, you can stitch their code to create something new

Code editing- you can edit the code of an object without resulting in its destruction, this allows you to change things about the object

Code manipulation- (reserved for only the gods)

It’s weaknesses are

Code stitching can end in failure due to the code not being compatible or other reasons, requires you to kill or destroy the being or object, it takes a significant amount of time to stitch code, and the thing you have created might not work as intended and may have some glitches, errors, and other problems. You CANNOT edit the code meaning whatever that code has stays there and cannot be changed into something else unless you destroy it again.

Code editing is a slow or fast process depending on how much code something has, this ability is really only used for items and while it can be used on beings, but they have so much complicated code that it would take forever to edit their being so it’s not used in battle much. Code editing CANNOT be used to create, only edit existing objects and add code onto it.

To better explain code stitching and code editing here is an example You take the the real knife it does 99 damage, with code stitching you destroy this object taking only the code where it does 99 damage, you apply this code on with a bunch of other code in hopes of creating a custom weapon, now this weapon looks completely different and still does 99 damage with other functions but those abilities would be from other objects and may not blend well together

With code editing you edit this knife making it do 195 damage, you change the knife ability but you can’t change the knife itself and while you can add other functions it would take time to add those but it would be abilities you created that work/blend together

Most Beings will have one of these abilities

There are some abilities beings must have in order for code editing and code stitching to work properly basically sub-abilities of code editing and code stitching

The ability that are need for them to work is

Code editing- code sight: allows beings to see code in a object or being

Code stitching- death code: anytime a being dies by your hands or attacks instead of dying normally they will turn into a blob of pure code

There are chances that beings that have code stitching to have code sight and vice versa This will make your abilities harder to use but not impossible

If you have code stitching but you have code sight this allows to stitch together beings and objects code while they are still intact but this causes a lot problems especially if your doing it to beings, they end up like a chimera or something more horrific (think of a amalgamates but without be slimy/melted) and with objects you just get some duct tape and add you knife with a stick and that’s basically it.

If you have code editing but have death code, you can (still working on it)

There are some other abilities you get when having Code editing or Code stitching

Code editing

-Cancel attack

-Stun (movement set to 0)

-power up/weaken

Code stitching

-create attack

-damage code

There are also some Rare abilities you can get

They both have a small chance of getting

-Command Like Ctrl C and Ctrl V

We also changed OVERWRITE to make it more balanced

OVERWRITE is a form of code editing that is much faster than regular beings with that power, it has the same restrictions as code editing, now it requires stamina/mana to use, it’s cost is depending of what it’s changing, and it’s not perfect while it cannot cause as much mistakes as manual code editing still can have some flaws
