A lot of people have the problem of Twitter locking them out of their account and forcing them to verify with a phone number whenever they make a new account. I made one to follow you and am currently having this issue, but it supposedly goes away after a few days.

Did you bypass the Twitter asking for phone number lock? If not, I think you just have to wait a few days and it stops asking for it.
