Dresses with pockets .. what do we think .. ? Frankly I hate clothes without pockets.. but dresses with pockets are like the most amazing thing ever! . . A few years ago I needed a dress for a friends engagement party.. ( I d just been healthy lost weight and upped my fitness ) so saw this dress and tried it on.. love 🥰... but then saw it had hidden pockets... oh sweet sweet true love began!! . . I still have the dress .. I can’t fit into it ( I have dreams that I can ) it sits there to remind me of that perfect day ... the finding it had pockets not the friend engagement party 🤣 priorities darling !! .. . ******* underwear companies . So I did it 🙌 I made soap nut shampoo.. see the last picture for the bubbled glass jar of what looks like cloudy cider 🥰🤣🙌 ( don’t drink it though ) . . This made two cups of * shampoo* . Which lasts around 10 days ( or longer in the fridge) . But in our house we go through shampoo like no ones business ! . You boil / simmer up 5 soap nuts - for ten mins in 2 cups of water .. let it cool . Sieve out the soap nuts. Store the shampoo in a lidded jar.. . Store in the fridge for longer preservation. Remember the is natural - NO preservatives. NO nasties NO chemicals. . . It’s easy to make up shampoo weekly - you could have it in a pan while you are cooking the Sunday dinner. . . Sample packs. £3. 10 soap nuts. ( 5 for washing - should give you 7-10 washes - 5 for shampoo ) . .( no soap nut bag provided) . Soap nuts plus washing bag. £6. . I know there are a lot of mamas out there who worry about what to use on their babies , toddlers, children .. . . So I thought I share this easy way to make natural baby wipes . These are reusable - organic - totally fine for sensitive baby skin .. or any sensitivity. ( unless your child has an allergy to any of the ingredients- ) . . You could use wash clothes - cutting them up.. flannels .. but here we have A LOT of clothes that are soft but stained from all sorts .. old t shirts .. baby leggings .. that get cut up for just this ( and of course reusable tumble drier sheets and washing clothes around the home) . I will tell you .. these smell lovely . And the skin is so soft .. slightly greasy if you make it and worry it’s wrong , that’s how it should be .. use on your face to wipe off your make up . Wipe kiddies dirty faces.. . I used some to give the doggy a wipe up after being in the garden .. his coat looks lovely and he smells so much better! . . ( did nt use them on the dog then the child lol - doggy has his own lol ) . . If you use them for poops .. wipe of excess poop with tissues - I have a kitchen towel bum wipe recipe coming - but it’s really just for the excess I think) . Then get that bum bum nice and clean. . Pop the used wipes under the tap for a wash out and either give them a soak in vinegar and water over night to help with the stains ( plus you can get a few stacked up in the bucket to wash ) or wash them in the machine - (using natural homemade detergent. ) wash as normal. . . They will last a month .. because obviously being organic with no preservatives.. they will go off. . But I ve been told even in the heat of Florida they were fine for a month. But I ve used mine up in less than a week!! So not needed to test that theory! . . Organic - natural - wipes are available on the market .. but they have a price tag. . . So get yourself a plastic tub.. ( I m using an ex Chinese take away tub ( super clean lol) . And layered with lots of cotton t shirt pieces - nothing is Perfectly cut .. Cray cray chicken babies - not so small at all! It ll be soon time for these ones to go outside! . I think they are ready .. but I wish the rain would stop .. they re not quite ready for that !! 🤣. . Let’s talk free food! Forage free food. . Nettle pesto. You might think no way .. stingers .. but once you steam it they are gone.. . It’s good for you and it’s free! . Stinging nettles Many people see stinging nettles as an invasive weed, but they are actually a delicious food. All wild foods are far more nutrient dense than the domesticated plants we eat most often. Stinging nettles when lightly steamed to remove their sting, are reminiscent of spinach. They make a delicious earthy tasting tea and when infused for 4 hours or more offer an amazing source of key minerals that many of us are lacking. basically you can enjoy them in any dish you would use spinach for. So far we’ve really been digging stinging nettle omelettes, hummus, palak paneer, teas and other delightful nettle experiments.. Recipe . Garlic - pine nuts - olive oil ( I use rape seed) lemon juice sea salt ( I use the pink salt ) Instructions 1. Put a pot of water on and when its boiling dump the fresh nettles in for just one minute. 2. Strain well and get as much water out as possible. Add nettles to blender or food processor. 3. Add garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, sea salt, lemon juice and cheese if you're using it. 4. Pulse until smooth and creamy and salt to taste. Enjoy!. It’s so good for you. . . You can use nettles for fertiliser without the worry that any seeds will give you more stingers. . I ll tell you how in my next post. . You need stingers. A bucket with some sort of cover. Happy 3rd Birtgdat to our Minky moo.. our wildling, our world. . . How the hell has three years past? I m not ready for time to slip by this quickly!! . . . 3 years ago I was in labour waiting to push this girl out into the world.. I would find out in a few hours her head was tilted ( and big ) so she was nt coming out without help. . But for now I was sucking on gas and air .. making @daddyofgeeks talk to me ( and Im the talker in this relationship 🤣) listening to the sound track he d made for me to give birth to and talk to my lovely midwives. . . I was so excited to see her.. the baby I thought we d never have and here we are 3 years later being bossed around by her .. made to laugh by her.. wrapped up in the love of her. . . GIFTED:. Before the world went cray cray this week and I lost my girls I was telling you about the Roughs by @satisfiedsnacks. They kindly gifted me these 3 tubs .. and I made very short work of them!! 🤣. . Yes they are healthy - yes they are based on salad.. but I tell you the best salad you ve ever tasted!! . . I ll be honest I was prepared to think they re going to be ok , but not super fab because well, they are healthy ! Erm, turns out I could nt stop eating them and did nt need to feel guilty about it! . . . The low down is - they are one your five a day, air dried , the place they are made at runs on sustainable power , the packaging is 100% recyclable, and the tubs are pretty nifty to pop things in!! 🙌🙌. . But for me they are also gluten free.. but you d never guess . . . So yes they gave me then free to try , but I will be buying more from this point on. . . Remember that whopper of an egg Baldric laid ! ( poor girl !) . Well it was a double yoker!! . And look how yellow they are ! . That’s home grown organic eggs for you ! From my ex battery hen girls who I ve had for 2 years - making them 3 1/2 and they lay eggs like it’s going out of fashion tomorrow ! . So if you want a couple of chickens - who will lay you eggs .. who you can save from being slaughtered after working their butts off in little cages for 18 months .. over heated so they lay each day .. going bald because of the heat .. stuck in little cages where they don’t even get to see the sun.. and if they don’t find a new home .. they get slaughtered for things like hot dogs. How unfair is that? . .
