Hi! I’ve been loving your art! In both of the timelines you have for ch.2, what do you think Shirley is doing at the time of Kris and co.’s arrival?

Oh boy, this one involves timelines...

Let's start with the technically older Shirley (the one born in 1997), so I'll let you in on a little secret:

She becomes a butler. They're the same Shirley.

Due to her father's eviction and his overall neglect of her up to that point, she's separated from him and raised by the mansion staff.

Of course, because said mansion staff has made an active effort to forget and deny any and all of their involvement with Spamton, whenever she tried to talk about him, they would change the subject until she no longer bothered.

As for where she is during Ch2, she might be sipping tea by herself at a café that's been entirely reserved for her, while Swatchlings stand guard and keep out anyone else. Not that she can't defend herself, mind you, but...let's just say they're there for the sake of everyone else.

Or she might be somewhere off in the background cleaning up the riffraff. Either-or.

As for where the other, younger one might be in her timeline during Ch2?

Nowhere. She hasn't been born yet.

And before you ask, 1997 Butler Shirley and the younger "main" Shirley do not exist in the same timeline.

What are your current thoughts on Gaster’s motives with the Secret Bosses, if you had to give your best guess?

To be completely honest, I'm of the mind that he doesn't necessarily have malicious intent with breaking their senses of reality (if he is the one doing it), but he severely misjudges how they're going to take the information he gives them.

So he's less of a villainous force, and more of a cryptid that flits in the corner of your eye, and as soon as you turn your head like "What? What was that?" your croissant has gone missing.

Have you ever gone into detail on what your view of Spamton and Jevil’s relationship was like? Do you think they met before either of them was Gaster-pilled or afterwards?

I could've sworn I did, but just in case I haven't actually:

I suppose it might depend on how you might define "Gaster-pilled," between something like Spamton getting the magic phone calls that gave him success, or what broke both their senses of reality.

But generally I see their relationship as having met like once, a decade or two ago, and while Spamton was forever traumatized by the experience (severe coulrophobia, hates anything clown- and carnival-related), Jevil's thoughts on him probably range from not remembering this encounter whatsoever to "OH, HIM, HIM. WHAT A DOUCHE, DOUCHE."

Seeing how Seam also knows who Spamton is (if you give them the Shadow Crystal from Spamton NEO's fight, they'll mention he found it in the NEO body, as opposed to having had it the whole time like Jevil), and Tasque Manager also seems to remember Jevil (she'll comment on if you have any of Jevil's items equipped in her fight), they were probably traveling with their respective ruler(s) on royal business to have crossed paths.

As for the encounter itself, Jevil probably invited Spamton to play a few of his games, in a good-natured, fun-loving clown way, only for Spamton to be a sore loser every time, eventually cheating to win, which for someone as genuinely freaking strong as Jevil (whose only worthy opponent thus far was Seam), is a grievous sin. He may be Mr. Chaos Chaos, but I suppose even he plays games by the rules. It's not his fault if you're just bad at the game.

Honestly thinking about it, this probably hit a little too close to home for Spamton, seeing how his success wasn't truly his own, and only really came about because someone else was feeding him directions over the phone. Did the clown have a point? Did he need to work on himself and improve as a person, so he would be able to claim a win of his own? Hell no, he's just wrong like everyone else who didn't believe in him!

tl;dr: Spamton holds grudges, but Jevil probably forgot.

Would you be willing to indulge a hint on who Shirley’s mom is?

She's not from Cyber World, and therefore not an Addison, making Shirley only half-Addison.

Her mother is also the same person in every timeline/AU I've mentioned, but she and Spamton only end up in a lasting relationship in what I consider the main, "best" ending (which I've yet to get to).

Should go without saying, but Shirley's mother is definitely taller than Spamton.

ALSO: It's subtle, but you might notice that Shirley's face in particular is shaped differently from Spamton's:

She gets that from her mother.

This is just a little branch-off from the rest of my AU stuff I'm trying to handle. This one in particular is mostly just "Spamton's daughter if was born 1997," though as you might imagine, it's a bit bittersweet.

Her being born 1997 would also mean she'd be an adult by the time the events of the game happen, but those are details for another post.

Alright, fuck it. I’m getting sick of the bullshit.

I’m gonna try out Helluva Boss and/or Hazbin Hotel, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.

Before anyone dreads this means I’ve lobotomized myself and lost all semblance of standards, I’ll have you know I spent the past 5-6 years picking apart an absolute mess of a fanfic/AU (complete with sloppy/samey character design) and written up several Word docs trying to understand what and why any of it even was. Even now, they’re incomplete because I’m missing pieces, and keep finding new ones at random (and they tend to raise more questions than they answer, but I guess that’s the “fun” of it).

If my opinion on the above is nowhere near that extreme, it does not mean I lack the critical thinking to…what, agree with you?

Okay, I was scrolling through Deltarune posts and I may or may not have figured something out. Is the design of the new heart queen (and possibly the others) a jab at people who draw Lancer as other suits with the excuse that we never see the other suits?

I apologize for leaving this to gather dust for like....four years. But since the damage is already done (as in, I was super wrong anyways, Card Queens are not canon, or in the game, and they never will be, but I take comfort in the fact that I feel I was uniquely wrong), yes, I am confirming the Fake Queens are a jab.

Honestly, it's a real pet peeve of mine when fanon and headcanons and the like tend to be based on "oh, we couldn't possibly know this information/we don't know any more details, therefore here's my theory/portrayal," when...did they even try to look? Or sometimes they just ignore it for the sake of their headcanons, and everything based on them afterward is way off-base.
