I’m Leaving Tumblr and here’s why

I haven’t been active on this account for a long time, and you all deserve an explanation and I honestly want to provide an explanation for why I’m leaving behind stories and content that I love creating for you all.

Minors are no longer allowed in this fandom. I think everyone has noticed that almost all of the “heavy hitting” content creating accounts in this fandom have become 18+.

Say what you want about the whole minor situation, that “minors shouldn’t even be playing this game!1!1!1!!! it’s rated M so they have to be 18 to play it!1!1!!!! it’s not my problem that minors can’t be involved in this fandom!1!1!1!!!” and I hate to break it to you, but you’re just a flat out asshole if you believe that. When I was 10, me and my sister and my best friend would sit in my friend’s basement and watch her older brother play GTA. Then he’d play dolls with us. When I was 14, I played RDR1. I like to think that I’ve turned out a halfway decent human being. And, in all honesty, all the minors that I have met in the RDR fandom are FAR more mature than most of the adults that I’ve interacted with.

Before my words get misconstrued, I don’t think that NSFW content is bad. I don’t like it myself, and I know a lot of people don’t either. What I think is bad is that NSFW has legitimately taken over the fandom. It’s no longer become a mutual love for a goddamn video game about a cowboy that gets tuberculosis, it’s been turned into a dumpster fire of nonstop romance and sexual content. Maybe some people like that, but I think that’s a rather boring way to go about living and creating and I bet that more people agree with me than you’d think.

I love writing my stories. I love Adventures in Parenting, I love For the Good Times, I love Red. The characters that have taken over those stories will always have a special place in my heart, and I’m sure that they’ll have a place in my readers’ hearts as well. I don’t write for the sake of fulfilling selfish desire; I write because I want to capture a piece of humanity through a story. I’ve noticed that content that people work so, so hard on is now going largely unnoticed in favor of headcanons (and in all honesty) poorly structured and poorly written thirst fics.

I’m a storyteller, and when there’s no longer an audience for my story to be told to then I move on. It’s time for me to move on. I love writing, with a bloody, burning passion, and I will always continue to write. I will never stop writing, because there will always be another story to tell. It pains me that those stories might not be shared with you lovely people, but I hope the stories that I’ve written have made you feel something more. I hope they’ve taught you love, despair, longing, peace, hope and wrath. I hope that some stupid sad cowboys that will be forgotten within the next 20 years have changed how you see the world, because it’s changed how I see the world.

I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that things will change in this fandom. It’s a shame seeing what a hateful environment this has turned into. I didn’t mention the problems with ship hate, since I’ve never experienced them so that isn’t a reason why I’m leaving, but I know that a lot of people have left for ship hate as well.

So, in conclusion, be well and be kind! Always create, always inspire! I believe in you!
