when was the last time you stared at the sky and got excited because of its breathtaking combination of colours?
the other day, i saw these kids (aged around early elementary school) looking at the blue evening sky (similar to the pic below minus the clouds because it was so so clear) and all of them said to each other how beautiful it was. i think we need to appreciate such small moments of joy more in our lives; they pass in one second but the gratefulness stays longer than that.

Sometimes the small pleasures hit different. A clean house, a hot drink, making something from scratch, sitting on the porch with a loved one. Little soul-feeding activities.

i just realised why i miss being in school/uni/basically being in education... for its safety.
safety as in, everyone is on the same path of being in school and studying, so there's no one who's really "behind".
everything is already scheduled and structured (that's the word i always use whenever i explain why i miss being in school; my life is structured as a student). we all have the same dates for exams, deadlines, and holidays. we're given the same portion of tasks. we all can access the same facilities.
after graduating and no longer being a student, everyone leaves on different paths. the height of social media (especially Instagram for me) heightens the feeling of, you guessed it, being behind my peers. being lost. achieving less than them. personally, in the career department of life -- although achievements aren't solely based on career, whether one has landed a job, things like that.
although actually no one has it all figured out.
rebecca shortt's podcast opens my eyes on this topic, but what hits me the most is that achievements include non-academic, non-career stuff, like pretty much being a good friend or sister or daughter is an achievement itself.
i have to tattoo the last part of the sentence on my forehead. i keep on forgetting about that. as a recent graduate who's still unemployed, that's the reminder i need to hear on a daily basis.

we're only given what we're capable of handling.
something i'm reminded of very recently. in that sense, doesn't that mean i'm not yet ready for a full-time corporate job?

actually the pandemic era (early 2020-mid 2022) is both my most peaceful and stressful period in my life... as of now
