"What the fuck!" Jeongguk breathed out, staring wide-eyed at the two people in front of him. 

"Is that a way to greet your parents?" His father scolded. In the first moment Jeongguk felt guilt, felt the same rush of shame he always feels when talking to his parents. But then he thought about Jimin and what he said, that Jeongguk has a new family now, a real family and that these two people in front of him are nothing but his biological creators. So instead of apologizing and lowering his head he just rolled his eyes and moved forward to open the door. He was so tired he really didn't have the energy to argue now.

"What are you doing here?" He wanted to know. 

"Are we not allowed to visit our son?" His mother asked back with that certain degrading tone in her voice that Jeongguk was so used to by now. 

"If you want to visit your son go leave some flowers at Junghyun hyungs grave." He said and pushed the door open, a little more rough than necessary. His parents pushed in behind him before he was able to close it in their faces. 

"How dare you!" His father yelled, his mother just gasped. Jeongguk rolled his eyes again. 

"Just say what you want already!" His father pulled out a letter and slammed it on the table. 

"What is that?" Jeongguk wanted to know. 

"The letter from the hospital." His mother offered. 

"What is it, huh? What kind of unnecessary treatment are you getting now?" His father demanded. His parents never were fond of hospitals or doctors. They didn't allow Jeongguk and his brother to get vaccinations, they didn't take them to dentists or doctors. Not even when Jeongguk got a very high fever once. After the accident it was the first time that they allowed their sons in the hospital. 

"Unnecessary." Jeongguk scoffed and flopped down on the couch, not having enough energy to stand much longer. The therapy has eaten away all his stamina. 

"Just so you know, I won't pay for any of this! I already left enough money at the hospital after the accident. If you don't-" His father started going off in a rant but Jeongguk interrupted him.

"Don't worry about that. This must be a mistake, the bills are already paid. Just leave the letter here, I'll take care of it." Jeongguk was proud on his calm answer. 

"A-Already paid? This is a lot of money, Jeongguk! And you just threw it out of the window! You could have supported us with that money, after everything we've done for you! You could have paid us back for-" His mother cried but Jeongguk has enough.

"For what, huh?! Pay you back for what? For years of trauma? Of emotional abuse by you? What have you ever really done for me? All you did was not letting me die, which I'm almost sure you only did to not end up in jail or something."

"Watch your mouth!" His father yelled but Jeongguk couldn't stop. It was like a dam has broke and finally he could let out everything he bottled up all these years. He has never felt this free before. 

"No, I'm done with you. I don't want you in my life anymore, you are not my family. And I sure as hell won't give you any money, what the actual fuck? Leave me alone." His father, no the man in front of him glared at him. Jeongguk felt pleased at the way his nostrils flared and his face became darker and darker. 

"Jeongguk, please be reasonable! We just want-" His mother tried but Jeongguk broke out in laughter. Not happy laughter, not the kind of laugher he has when he play-fights with Jimin or bickers with his hyungs. It's a cold laughter, kind of hysterical. But at least it shuts the old woman up.

"You want what? My money? Sorry to disappoint, I don't have any. It wasn't me who paid my hospital bills. Believe it or not, but there are actually some people out there who care for me. Now leave my flat or I'll call the police." The two people gape at him when Jeongguk actually grabs his phone and holds it up as a warning.

"How dare you treat us like this!" His father growled.

"I said leave! And never fucking come back!" He screamed and after several moments of intense staring they finally retreated with a huff. 

The moment the door fell into the lock with a loud bang, Jeongguk felt empty. He doesn't regret his words but that doesn't change the fact that it hurt. His parents really didn't care about him at all, they didn't even worry when getting the letter of the hospital. They just cared about the money, completely ignoring the fact that Jeongguk might actually die. A single tear rolled down his cheek silently and Jeongguk did the one thing he could think of, he took his phone.

Part 25

(A/N: sorry it took so long ksksk my exams fucked me over lmao anyways now I'm on break so I'll finish this story at once)

Jeongguk walked slowly through the bright corridors. Around him nurses and doctors where rushing around, as well as a few patients. He had already disliked being here when he was the patient, be it for surgery or chemotherapy. But this, now, was much worse. Never has he felt so helpless before. Jimin, his sweet, loving Jimin was laying unconscious in one of these ugly beds and it was basically his fault. 

He didn’t care what Taehyung or the others said, Jimin overworked himself because he was worrying about him, because he felt the need to do what Jeongguk couldn’t do himself, because Jeongguk was too busy drowning in selfpity he didn’t see how Jimin worked himself to the bone. Jeongguk didn’t know what to do, he was so angry at himself but at the same time he felt so lifeless without Jimin. He realized that Jimin was his battery, was what kept him going and now that Jimin himself was sucked dry off all energy Jeongguk felt like he might collapse as well. 

Jeongguk reached Jimins room and stopped in the opened door frame. Taehyung was still there, as well as his hyungs. Taehyung was sitting on the edge of the bed and Namjoon and Yoongi on chairs, next to the only, small window in the room. He just stood there and stared at Jimins unmoving figure. He looked so small and fragile, with his pale cheeks and chest just barely rising and falling. 

With his head down he slowly made his way into the room and over to Jimins bed, sitting down on the side of it. No one said a word but he could feel their gazes on him as they waited for Jimin to wake up. It took maybe one hour but for Jeongguk it felt like ten thousand until Jimins eyes finally flattered and opened. He blinked rapidly, since his eyes weren’t used to the brightness, and frowned, looking around once he could make out his surroundings. Jeongguk held his hand tightly and scooped a bit closer.

“Hey,” He rasped out. Jimins eyes focused on him.

“What happened?” He asked with a small pout, his voice strained.

“I’m gonna go get the doctor.” Yoongi mumbled and left the room.

“You fainted, you massive idiot!” Jeongguk choked as new tears were stinging in his eyes. Jimins pout intensified. He always had a habit of becoming a bit childish and needy when he wasn’t feeling well and even more so if someone also scolded him. 

"I did? Why?" The younger asked completely oblivious. Tae on his other side snorted.

"What do you think, huh?" Taehyung said but he sounded more sad than mad. 

"Your body collapsed because you overworked yourself. Too less sleep and food." Jeongguk explained. "I fucking told you!" He choked out as his throat closed up. "I told you so often that you do too much but you just wouldn't listen!" Jimin sat up with a lot of effort and reached out to caress Jeongguks cheek softly.

"I'm sorry baby, I really thought I was fine. I didn't mean to scare you. It's not your fault." The older said and brushed his thumb over Jeongguks cheek. The youngers lip started to wobble at that. Jimin really just read his mind like that. 

"Just promise me from now on you'll listen to me, when I say you do too much!" He pouted and Jimin nodded weakly. Moments later the doctor came explained everything to Jimin, as well as warning him to take better care of himself in the future. 

Jimin has to stay in the hospital for another night and the others stay for as long as possible. Yoongi and Namjoon leave first, then at one point Tae until it's only the two of them left. For minutes and minutes they just sit there in silence. Jeongguk on the clappy armchair and Jimin half-laying on the bed. They stare at each other while Jeongguk holds Jimins smaller hand in both of his and caresses the soft skin.

"You really scared me today." The younger whispered after a while. 

"I'm sorry. Please, don't blame yourself." Jeongguk scoffed at that. 

"Why do I keep hurting or losing the people that I love?" He choked out. Jimin sat up alarmed, noticing the shift in Jeongguks expression. The sudden sorrow, the still not overcame grief, the deep pain. And Jimins heart hurt for him, his heart hurt so much for the boy in front of him, the boy he loves. 

He doesn't understand either. Why life keeps on making Jeongguks life hard and painful, why he has to face hardship after hardship. Jimin has never met anyone who has went through so much shit and not given up yet, not lost faith in everything. He wishes he could take all the pain from the youngers shoulder. Even if just for a day, just so that Jeongguk can breath again. 

"I don't know." Jimin whispers, because he doesn't know what else to say. He doesn't know because it's not fair. It makes no sense. He lightly tucks on the others hands, inviting Jeongguk to join him on the bed. Once the younger is settled he wraps his arms tightly around Jeongguks middle. 

"I'm really okay." He assured. "I promise to be more careful from now on. So I'll get better and soon you'll get better and then I won't allow anymore shit to happen to you. It's enough, it's time for our happy end!"

Their happy end. Jeongguk really liked the sound of that. Unfortunately he couldn't really believe in it. Not with his ongoing therapy, not with Jimin currently in the hospital.

And not with his parents suddenly standing in front of his apartment as he got home.

(So I'm not sure if I should continue this story? Idk I'm not really liking it that much? I'd really appreciate some feedback so please let me know!!

Also concerning the story, I just did a few screenshots but imagine this going on for a while, in the second to last ss it's supposed to say "it's been almost two weeks* in weeks in which he barely ate anything")

Jimin purposefully threw the door shut with a loud bang as he entered the small apartment, bags hanging on his arms. It was dark since Jeongguk has pulled all the curtains shut and blocked out the sunlight. Jimin grumbled a bit and went to the kitchen to dispose the bags there before he went to open all the curtains. First in the living room and then he loudly barged into Jeongguks bedroom, gaining a complaining gasp from the younger.

“That’s it!” Jimin announced and opened the curtains and seconds later the window, letting fresh air into the room for probably the first time in weeks.

“Jimin what the fuck.” Jeongguk said, sitting up in bed. A beanie hiding is thin hair. His cheeks hollow and dark circles under his eyes.

“You look pathetic, Jeongguk.” Jimin stated and watched as Jeongguks tired eyes widened in shock.

“Yes, you heard correctly.” Jimin continues. “Fucking look at you. When did you get out of bed the last time huh? When did you take the last shower? This whole apartment reeks.” Jeongguks opened his mouth to say something before closing it with a scoff and dropping back on bed, pulling the blanket up to his shoulders.

“Oh no, times over Jeongguk. I’m not letting you drown in self pity any longer.” Jimin said and harshly pulled the blanket from the younger, making him scream in anger.

“I didn’t ask you to, Jimin! Fucking leave, I don’t want you here!” Jeongguk screamed at his face. It hurt but Jimin didn’t expect anything else so he kept his face straight and shook his head.

“I don’t care. You are getting up now, you’ll take a shower and you’ll eat and then you’ll go outside with me.” Jeongguk scoffs again.

“Make me.” The younger mocks.

“Gladly,” Jimin says and goes over to the bed to pull the beanie of Jeongguks head. The younger screams again and clashes his hands over his head. He opens his mouth to say something but Jimin has had enough.

“Get fucking up! Now!” He screams in Jeongguks face. “You don’t have the freedom to do whatever you please just because you have cancer, Jeongguk! Yoongi and Namjoon flew around the world for you, they paid for your recovery and what do you do? You spit on them and their effort. You can scream at me and hate me if you want but I’m dragging your ass through this recovery and if it’s the last I do.” Jeongguk gapes at him in shock so Jimin continues.

“You are making no sense, Jeongguk. You pity yourself because you think you have no chance on being cured but instead of doing anything to up your chances you lay in bed and rot. Namjoon and Yoongi didn’t raise you like that.” Finally Jeongguks stubborn attitude crumbles, his shoulder droop and his eyes become glassy. Jimin takes his hands and pulls them away from his head.

“Stop being ashamed, stop being worried. Just take one step at a time, we are all here to help you but you have to let us in.” Jimin says, his voice much softer now as he brushes a tear away from Jeongguks cheek.

“We don’t expect you to be strong, we don’t want you to fight everything alone. We just want you to feel better. Please, stop pushing us out. It’s hard for us too, you know.” Jimin finishes off his speech, still caressing the youngers cheek. Jeongguk bites down in his trembling bottom lip, sniffles a bit and then nods softly. Jimin let’s out a sigh of relief before taking Jeongguks hand and pulling him up. He is so much lighter now, all his trained muscles are gone and instead bones poke out under his skin. It would take a while before Jimin has fattened him up again, but the older was never one to back out of a challenge.

Soon later Jeongguk disappeared in the shower and Jimin returned to the kitchen to prepare the food. A lot of rice and vegetables and fruits to pump some sugar into Jeongguk. Jimin watched closely as they eat to make sure Jeongguk eats enough and after that they go out for a small walk. Getting Jeongguk a bit into motion and the sunlight.
