"What the fuck!" Jeongguk breathed out, staring wide-eyed at the two people in front of him. 

"Is that a way to greet your parents?" His father scolded. In the first moment Jeongguk felt guilt, felt the same rush of shame he always feels when talking to his parents. But then he thought about Jimin and what he said, that Jeongguk has a new family now, a real family and that these two people in front of him are nothing but his biological creators. So instead of apologizing and lowering his head he just rolled his eyes and moved forward to open the door. He was so tired he really didn't have the energy to argue now.

"What are you doing here?" He wanted to know. 

"Are we not allowed to visit our son?" His mother asked back with that certain degrading tone in her voice that Jeongguk was so used to by now. 

"If you want to visit your son go leave some flowers at Junghyun hyungs grave." He said and pushed the door open, a little more rough than necessary. His parents pushed in behind him before he was able to close it in their faces. 

"How dare you!" His father yelled, his mother just gasped. Jeongguk rolled his eyes again. 

"Just say what you want already!" His father pulled out a letter and slammed it on the table. 

"What is that?" Jeongguk wanted to know. 

"The letter from the hospital." His mother offered. 

"What is it, huh? What kind of unnecessary treatment are you getting now?" His father demanded. His parents never were fond of hospitals or doctors. They didn't allow Jeongguk and his brother to get vaccinations, they didn't take them to dentists or doctors. Not even when Jeongguk got a very high fever once. After the accident it was the first time that they allowed their sons in the hospital. 

"Unnecessary." Jeongguk scoffed and flopped down on the couch, not having enough energy to stand much longer. The therapy has eaten away all his stamina. 

"Just so you know, I won't pay for any of this! I already left enough money at the hospital after the accident. If you don't-" His father started going off in a rant but Jeongguk interrupted him.

"Don't worry about that. This must be a mistake, the bills are already paid. Just leave the letter here, I'll take care of it." Jeongguk was proud on his calm answer. 

"A-Already paid? This is a lot of money, Jeongguk! And you just threw it out of the window! You could have supported us with that money, after everything we've done for you! You could have paid us back for-" His mother cried but Jeongguk has enough.

"For what, huh?! Pay you back for what? For years of trauma? Of emotional abuse by you? What have you ever really done for me? All you did was not letting me die, which I'm almost sure you only did to not end up in jail or something."

"Watch your mouth!" His father yelled but Jeongguk couldn't stop. It was like a dam has broke and finally he could let out everything he bottled up all these years. He has never felt this free before. 

"No, I'm done with you. I don't want you in my life anymore, you are not my family. And I sure as hell won't give you any money, what the actual fuck? Leave me alone." His father, no the man in front of him glared at him. Jeongguk felt pleased at the way his nostrils flared and his face became darker and darker. 

"Jeongguk, please be reasonable! We just want-" His mother tried but Jeongguk broke out in laughter. Not happy laughter, not the kind of laugher he has when he play-fights with Jimin or bickers with his hyungs. It's a cold laughter, kind of hysterical. But at least it shuts the old woman up.

"You want what? My money? Sorry to disappoint, I don't have any. It wasn't me who paid my hospital bills. Believe it or not, but there are actually some people out there who care for me. Now leave my flat or I'll call the police." The two people gape at him when Jeongguk actually grabs his phone and holds it up as a warning.

"How dare you treat us like this!" His father growled.

"I said leave! And never fucking come back!" He screamed and after several moments of intense staring they finally retreated with a huff. 

The moment the door fell into the lock with a loud bang, Jeongguk felt empty. He doesn't regret his words but that doesn't change the fact that it hurt. His parents really didn't care about him at all, they didn't even worry when getting the letter of the hospital. They just cared about the money, completely ignoring the fact that Jeongguk might actually die. A single tear rolled down his cheek silently and Jeongguk did the one thing he could think of, he took his phone.

Also concerning the story, I just did a few screenshots but imagine this going on for a while, in the second to last ss it's supposed to say "it's been almost two weeks* in weeks in which he barely ate anything")

Jimin purposefully threw the door shut with a loud bang as he entered the small apartment, bags hanging on his arms. It was dark since Jeongguk has pulled all the curtains shut and blocked out the sunlight. Jimin grumbled a bit and went to the kitchen to dispose the bags there before he went to open all the curtains. First in the living room and then he loudly barged into Jeongguks bedroom, gaining a complaining gasp from the younger.

“That’s it!” Jimin announced and opened the curtains and seconds later the window, letting fresh air into the room for probably the first time in weeks.

“Jimin what the fuck.” Jeongguk said, sitting up in bed. A beanie hiding is thin hair. His cheeks hollow and dark circles under his eyes.

“You look pathetic, Jeongguk.” Jimin stated and watched as Jeongguks tired eyes widened in shock.

“Yes, you heard correctly.” Jimin continues. “Fucking look at you. When did you get out of bed the last time huh? When did you take the last shower? This whole apartment reeks.” Jeongguks opened his mouth to say something before closing it with a scoff and dropping back on bed, pulling the blanket up to his shoulders.

“Oh no, times over Jeongguk. I’m not letting you drown in self pity any longer.” Jimin said and harshly pulled the blanket from the younger, making him scream in anger.

“I didn’t ask you to, Jimin! Fucking leave, I don’t want you here!” Jeongguk screamed at his face. It hurt but Jimin didn’t expect anything else so he kept his face straight and shook his head.

“I don’t care. You are getting up now, you’ll take a shower and you’ll eat and then you’ll go outside with me.” Jeongguk scoffs again.

“Make me.” The younger mocks.

“Gladly,” Jimin says and goes over to the bed to pull the beanie of Jeongguks head. The younger screams again and clashes his hands over his head. He opens his mouth to say something but Jimin has had enough.

“Get fucking up! Now!” He screams in Jeongguks face. “You don’t have the freedom to do whatever you please just because you have cancer, Jeongguk! Yoongi and Namjoon flew around the world for you, they paid for your recovery and what do you do? You spit on them and their effort. You can scream at me and hate me if you want but I’m dragging your ass through this recovery and if it’s the last I do.” Jeongguk gapes at him in shock so Jimin continues.

“You are making no sense, Jeongguk. You pity yourself because you think you have no chance on being cured but instead of doing anything to up your chances you lay in bed and rot. Namjoon and Yoongi didn’t raise you like that.” Finally Jeongguks stubborn attitude crumbles, his shoulder droop and his eyes become glassy. Jimin takes his hands and pulls them away from his head.

“Stop being ashamed, stop being worried. Just take one step at a time, we are all here to help you but you have to let us in.” Jimin says, his voice much softer now as he brushes a tear away from Jeongguks cheek.

“We don’t expect you to be strong, we don’t want you to fight everything alone. We just want you to feel better. Please, stop pushing us out. It’s hard for us too, you know.” Jimin finishes off his speech, still caressing the youngers cheek. Jeongguk bites down in his trembling bottom lip, sniffles a bit and then nods softly. Jimin let’s out a sigh of relief before taking Jeongguks hand and pulling him up. He is so much lighter now, all his trained muscles are gone and instead bones poke out under his skin. It would take a while before Jimin has fattened him up again, but the older was never one to back out of a challenge.

Soon later Jeongguk disappeared in the shower and Jimin returned to the kitchen to prepare the food. A lot of rice and vegetables and fruits to pump some sugar into Jeongguk. Jimin watched closely as they eat to make sure Jeongguk eats enough and after that they go out for a small walk. Getting Jeongguk a bit into motion and the sunlight.

Jimin entered the apartment to the sound of gagging. He immediately dropped the bags he was carrying and rushed to the bathroom, where he found Jeongguk kneeling in front of the toilet. Jimin took a cloth and drenched it in cold water before crouching down next to Jeongguk. He brushed his bangs back and pressed the cold cloth against the youngers forehead, while rubbing his back soothingly.

“S-sorry.” Jeongguk slurred after he was done, his tongue feeling a bit numb. Jimin pinched his side a bit.

“There is literally nothing you have to apologize for. We knew this would happen, it’s normal.” Jimin assured.

“I didn’t expect for my body to react so quickly.” He mumbled and let his head fall forward, pressed against the cloth that Jimin was still holding against his forehead. The older flushed the toilet and pulled Jeongguk up from the ground.

“Come on, let’s get you to the couch.” Jimin said and after Jeongguk was comfortably seated he went to get him some water and a busket -just in case. They watched some anime that Jeongguk chose. Jimin sat down next to Jeongguk at first but soon pulled the younger against his chest, so that Jeongguk was basically laying on top of him, his head tucked securely under Jimins chin. At some point Jimin lost interest in the plot and instead reached out for his phone, lazily scrolling through twitter instead. He didn’t even notice that Jeongguk peeked in his phone as well and read along as Jimin replied some dms and tried to decide on a new confession to post.

“Can I post one?” Jeongguk suddenly spoke up. It took Jimin a few moments to realize what he meant.

“Oh eh, sure. Just don’t post something dumb.” He said and handed over his phone.

“Okay, here he is. But please he needs rest so don’t stay longer than thirty minutes.” A nurse told Jimin before leaving him alone in the dark hospital room. Jeongguk was laying in the bed, multiple different tubes hanging off of him onto loud machines. The younger turned his head slowly and met Jimins eyes, he looked dazed. Jimin rushed over to his side and sat down on a chair next to the bed.

“Woa you are a pretty nurse.” Jeongguk said groggily. Jimin chuckled.

“Oh thank you.”

“You look like my Jiminie.” A smile spread on his face and his eyes flattered a bit. Jimin hummed amused.

“Your Jiminie, huh?”

“Hmm, he’s the best. When I survive this I’m gonna marry him.” Jimin gasped. Not in hundred years did he expect this reveal.

“M-Marry?”

“Yeah he doesn’t know yet, so pshhhh.” Jeongguk said and moved to bring his index finger to his lips but Jimin took his hand instead and set it down on the bed again, holding it with both of his own.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell him.” He choked out, tears threatening to spill out.

“Where is he? Can I see him?” Jeongguk met Jimins eyes but didn’t notice the others devastated state.

“Of course you can, once you slept a bit more. Close your eyes and when you open them again I’ll- I mean he will be here.” Jeongguk hooked their pinkys together.

“Promise?” He asked, big doe eyes full of hope. Jimin smiled and squeezed his pinky.

“Promise.” Jeongguk smiled like a kid that was promised ice cream, before he closed his eyes again. Jimin leaned in and pressed a kiss to his forehead.

“Sleep well, Kookie.”

(Sorry that there was no update last weekend but I'll post twice this one to make up for it! Also I included some visuals, I don't recommend googling what a port system looks like if you are not good with blood...)

Jeongguk slowly approached Jimins car and flopped down in the passenger seat. He avoided Jimins gaze and didn’t say a word, just staring out of the window. Jimin watched him for a few moments before sighing and starting the engine. He reached out for Jeongguks hand and almost expected the younger to pull away. Instead Jeongguk interlaced their fingers and squeezed Jimins hand tightly, though still not looking at him.

They drove for approximately fifteen minutes before Jimin parked the car in front of the big, grey building. Both of them silently stared at it for a few breathless moments. Jimin was the first to unbuckle his seatbelt and get out of the car. He walked around it and opened the door for Jeongguk who finally looked at him. Jimins heart clenched at the big hopeless doe eyes filled with so much uncertainty.

“It’s fine,” Jimin said with a soft smile “You can do this.” Jeongguk just pouted but got out of the car and soon later they made their way over to the entrance of the hospital. Jeongguk signed up and they were told where to go. They still had to wait a bit for Jeongguks doctor to arrive which gave the boy time to become more and more anxious with every passing minute. He nervously bounced his leg up and down and Jimin didn’t know what to do to calm him down. Today is Jeongguks first chemotherapy session and neither of them knew what to expect. They waited for a few more minutes before a tall man in white approached, a polite smile on his face.

“Hello Jeongguk. I’d say nice to see you but I guess that’d be inappropriate.” The man greeted. Jeongguk stood up and shook the doctors hand.

“H-Hey Dr Kim.” He said, his voice shaking a bit. Jimin stood close behind him, one hand resting on the small of his back comfortingly.

“Don’t be too nervous okay? I know it’s nothing to look forward to but stay positive. You can get through this and I’ll help you on the way.” Dr Kim said and lead them to a big room. In an earlier appointment Dr Kim already explained everything, how it would go down, possible side effects and all that. It didn’t help Jeongguks fear at all.

In the big room were already a few others sitting on padded chairs. Some with companions, some alone. Suddenly Jeongguk was very aware of Jimins presence and a wave of gratefulness washed over him. Dr Kim motioned him to sit down on another chair and pulled one of these blue curtains around them, giving them some privacy.

“Okay, I’ll need you to take off your sweater, so I can reach the port.” Dr Kim said. Jeongguk squirmed a bit uneasy. Jimin has never seen that port system before, ever since Jeongguks surgery the younger made sure to stay fully clothed. Jimin wasn’t sure if it was because of the scar or the port. After a few seconds Jeongguk finally took off his hoodie, he wore a white shirt underneath with a wide collar, allowing it to fall off his shoulder and exposing the port. It looked a bit weird, just a bump right under his skin and Jimin couldn’t imagine it to not hurt because there was something constantly in his skin and vein. Jeongguk didn’t look comfortable at all, he stared at the ground and avoided Jimins gaze while the doctor prepared everything. Jimin sat down on a chair next to him and took his hand, squeezing it a bit.

“Hey, it’s okay.” Jimin whispered. Jeongguk finally looked at him, his big eyes swimming in fear. Jimin felt like crying but he forced himself to smile, although it was probably not very convincing.

“Let’s get this over with, yeah?” Dr Kim spoke up and walked around the chair to Jeongguks left where the port was transplanted just under his collarbone. The doctor attached the end of a long tube to the port on Jeongguks shoulder and hung the infusion with the clear liquid on one of these metal stands.

“Okay this will take about an hour, make yourself comfortable and call me whenever you need.” He said before leaving them alone.

“How do you feel?” Jimin asked carefully. Jeongguk shrugged with the shoulder that was not currently transformed into a cyborg.

“I don’t know... weird.” The younger mumbled and leaned back on the chair, his head turned to the side to look at Jimin. The latter didn’t know what to reply, so he brushed his thumbs over the back of Jeongguks hand. His eyes dropped to the port and he stared at it for a moment until he noticed Jeongguk squirm uncomfortably. The boy brought his hand up and fumbled with the collar of his shirt trying to somehow hide the device in his skin but with little success since it was connected to the tube now. Jimin hates how ashamed he looked. The older stood up and took a step forwards, he pulled Jeongguks hand away and leaned down to kiss his shoulder.

“Don’t be embarrassed because of something like this.” Jimin whispered and sat down on the edge of Jeongguks chair. He saw a soft shade of pink forming on his ex boyfriends cheeks and a small pout on his lips.

“Everything’s gonna be fine, I’m sure of it.” Jimin said, trying to convince himself. He continued to make himself comfortable on the big chair, cuddling up to Jeongguks side and laying his head on the youngers chest. After a few seconds Jeongguk wrapped his arms around Jimins middle. They stayed like this until Dr Kim came back after an hour. The tall man smiled at the sight of them and told Jimin he could stay put while the doctor removes the by now empty bag.

“Okay, we talked about the side effects so be careful the next few days and take it slow. If it becomes really bad you can always come here. Or we’ll see each other next week. Same time same place.” Dr Kim smiled at them and finally they got up from the chair, both stretching after sitting so long in the same position.
