October 14, 2017 | #GABBAFEST2
It was Saturday night when one of the best gig I’ve ever attended happened: The birthday gig of Gabba Santiago (Tom’s Story). Consisting of lots of wonderful musicians and bands, held at 19 East in Muntinlupa City.
Few weeks back, when I first saw the Raccoon Productions’ post about Gabbafest2, my nerves went up and feel giddy about it. The very first thing that came up to my mind was “hindi ko na dapat palampasin ‘to” (because sadly, I didn’t made it to gabbafest last year) I know solid line up talaga and its going to happen at 19 East; that I must say favorite gig place ko ever because of its peaceful ambiance and the soothing sound system. And wow! I wasn’t wrong, indeed it was a beautiful night.

Oh diba sulit talaga ang 300 mo dito bes.
Everything was fine according to plan. Saturday is approaching and im so gig ready.
Finally Saturday na!! The show started at about 8pm. Unfortunately, my out from the office is at 9:30pm so I knew that I won’t be able to start the show I have my officemate with me to watch the gig pero nauna sya don since her out is 3:30pm.
Well if you’re a friend you know how much I love Clara Benin. And one of the main reason why I really wanted to watch this gig is because I’ve been longing to watch her perform on a live show since she had her hiatus last year. So this is my chaaaaaaance to see her perform live once again. Pero nakakaloka, the friend messaged me that she’s on stage na, eh kakaalis ko lang ng office huhu. Thanks to the grab driver for bringing me safe and sound to the place.
To my surprise, when I arrived at 19east, sobrang daming tao! Parang block buster sa isang movie screening na parang kasabay ng isang 3-days sale sa isang mall. And I won’t forget what the receptionist outside told me, “sure ka na ba jan?” sobrang dami kasi talaga (me on my mind that time: omg dami ngaaaa pano ko makakapasok, pano ko makikita si ate Rochelle?) pero dedmabels na, desidido ang ate mo gurl haha. So to cut it short, naabutan ko naman si Clara on her last song nga lang. Pero atleast!! And not only that I got to have a photo op with her and she even signed my copy of her album (ehhhhh kilig, haaaaay happy heart) I’ve waited for that moment to come and I can’t believe that it happened on that night. 💛💛💛💛
And then performances followed by The Ransom Collective, Reese Lansangan, and Autotelic who ended the night with their super cool and beautiful songs. Huy sobrang I love how they ended the show, dahil sobrang ganda ng songs nila!! Galing nila forever.
I got lucky to have photos with the birthday boy, Gabba Santiago and my fave CB and with the other artists as well. Hihi kilig overload. My fangirl heart is so full that night.
And lastly, a very special thanks to my awesome gig-mate Rochelle “Salt” Mabalot Hahaha more gigs to come!
Wow! Just wow. It was indeed a night full of beautiful moments, feel good music and a place filled with wonderful people. Really, I wasn’t expecting that its going to be a jam-packed-evening. Though I know maraming pupunta, pero di ganon kadami ang inexpect ko. Well, nga naman “expect the unexpected”. Kahit super late na eh madami parin talaga. Im just so proud how this Indie Music Industry had grown into something really beautiful; That finally, a lot of people can appreciate its wonder.
I really had a superb night: Happy heart, happy soul. More of these please! I’m looking forward to the next best gig that’s going to happen hopefully very soon 💕
