Angsty/Bittersweet Prompt 1
The older sibling sits at the family table with a solemn look in their eyes. The other family members cleared out from their home hours ago, but deep tension still lingers as they meet their younger siblings' eyes and find words they wish someone told them ages ago.
"I hope one day you look around a table and see your family, and not one of them is related to you by blood, but by memories."

Things To Do If You Have Writers Block
A: Read that book you've wanted to get to or reread one of your favorites! Maybe you'll find some inspiration from the words. Yet even if you don't, analyze what about the book's writing style you like and don't like, then try to apply that to your own and see if anything flows better.
B: Plan the beginning, middle, and end of a story, and nothing more. Get as nonsensical as you want to! (EX: Start: A man finds a tree. Middle: The man brings the tree to life. End: The man becomes a bird so he can live in the tree.)
C: Change up your writing style to see if something new would help. Do you usually write in first person? Try writing in second. Do you usually write in second person? Try writing in first.
D: Come up with new small facts about your OC's or headcanons about your favorite character! (EX: What's their least favorite color? Do they believe in luck? What's their favorite soda?)
E: Write a few paragraphs about what your favorite character would be up to after the end of their story.
F: Think about your favorite media. Then, think about the thing you dislike most about that media. Write a ten step plan about how you would personally fix this problem if you were in charge.
More Undercut
G: Write a very non serious shitpost. Like…something so stupid that it isn't even worth putting real effort into.
H: Go engage with that one media that always makes you want to write something for it.
I: Focus on something for your story that isn't writing. Do you want to research something for your story to be more accurate? Focus on that for a bit and then come back to your writing.
J: Play the paragraph game with a friend! The paragraph game is when you write one paragraph of a story and your friend writes another.
K: Write a paragraph and then do something else. (EX: Write a paragraph and then read a chapter/page of a book. Write a paragraph and then walk a lap around your room. Write a paragraph and then doodle something on a sticky note.)
L: Think about your favorite lyric of all time. Then write a scene based on them.
M: Write about a day from your pets perspective. If you don't have a pet, write about a day from your favorite animals perspective.
N: Write something so embarrassingly self-indulgent that you'd never post it. That way, you won't feel the pressure of showing other people your writing, while also trying to write something you really enjoy.
O: Have a competition with yourself! See how many words you can write in the span of ten minutes over a week! You might surprise yourself.
P: Try a different medium of creativity and see if focusing on something else will get you unstuck. (Like editing, drawing, singing, knitting, etc.)
Q: Start on a new project and see if that gets you unstuck. You can always come back to the old one later.
R: Write something that's NOT from the main characters perspective. How would that one side character you really love react to something the main character has gone through? Or what were they up to while the main character was going through something.
S: Make random characters on Picrew, The Sims, BG3, literally anything with any kind of character customization. Maybe making a really cool design will make you inspired to write a really cool backstory to go with them.
T: Journal your day so you're writing something even if it isn't taking up creative energy. (Because the lack of creative energy is real.)
U: Read anything you write out loud, sometimes it helps things flow better.
V: Rewrite some of your old work. See if you find new wording for that one sentence that bothered you back then.
W: Meet your needs. It's much easier to write after a snack, a drink, and a nap if you feel like you need one.
X: Write about how an interaction would go between two characters who have never met in canon.
Y: Daydream! Not everything has to be written using pen or paper or an internet document. Just daydream about a story you'd like to tell and maybe get inspired. Or maybe you won't, but you will have kept the creative juices flowing!
Z: Release yourself from the pressure of writing. You will get something done when you get something done, and sometimes you just need a break. Even from things you love.

Character Ideas 1
A character who died before the story began but influence every word written on the page.
Their face is no longer full of life, but you wouldn't know that from the lively way their loved ones paint them.
Their voice no longer echoes in the halls, but their phrases and songs now belong to the lips of those who loved them.
They can no longer reach their dreams, but those dreams live on in people who never even knew them.
Write a character the audience never gets to meet but knows so well their story feels like it was told on every page.

Sorry if this is too specific but y’know the whole “grumpy x sunshine” trope? Can I get some prompts for that sort of dynamic between A and B, but in a platonic/sibling context rather than romantic? (That’s not to say it should be any less soft or fluffy tho hehe)
A: The sunshine sibling tends to hang out with grumpy people, and the grumpy sibling tends to hang out with sunshine people. It's the type of person they're naturally drawn to considering their sunshine/grumpy sibling is their best friend.
B: The sunshine sibling mocks the grumpy sibling by doing an overexaggerated frown every time they walk into the room.
C: The younger sibling has their sunshine/grumpy demeanor as a direct counter to the eldest's sunshine/grumpy personality.
D: The grumpy sibling is very protective over the sunshine siblings personality. If anyone tries to darken their day, the grumpy sibling will stop that real fast.
E: The sunshine sibling is very defensive over their siblings personality. If anyone comments about them being "negative" the sunshine sibling is quick to jump in with "Everyone is different! That's what makes people themselves!"
F: Both siblings always prepare to introduce their sibling to people. They know it takes them for a loop to realize that their sibling is their exact opposite.
More Undercut
G: The sunshine sibling has a sad music playlist while the grumpy siblings playlist is pretty upbeat. They often joke the irony.
H: Sunshine Sibling: "We have golden retriever and black cat energy!" Grumpy Sibling: "I- Okay?" Sunshine Sibling: "See? Black cat energy!"
I: The older grumpy sibling sang "You are my sunshine" to their younger sunshine sibling during their childhood.
J: It took the older sunshine sibling a long time to accept that their youngest sibling's grumpiness isn't a negative thing. Rather, it's just a part of who they are.
K: Grumpy Sibling: "Do you ever think it's weird that we're related? Considering how different we are." Sunshine Sibling Who Is Joyful As They Are Sassy: "Not as weird as your hair cut."
L: The sunshine sibling loves hugging everyone, including their grumpy sibling. The grumpy sibling wants to act like they hate it, but it's always a highlight of their day.
M: The grumpy/sunshine sibling always sends their siblings viral moon/sun, night/day, ocean/sky trends with the caption: "It's us!"
N: The grumpy sibling really appreciates how their sunshine sibling is always able to find the bright side of things. That optimism really helps push them forward some days.
O: The sunshine sibling really appreciates how their grumpy sibling is is more realistic about certain things. They really value their input in more serious situations.
P: The sunshine characters smile falls when they believe something bad happened to their grumpy sibling. Only then do their friends learn who gives the sunshine character their light.
Q: The siblings joke that they're points to "nature" in the nature vs nurture argument.
R: The sunshine/grumpy sibling will sometimes grab their siblings hoodies and such when they're in a rush. Their friends tend to look at them weird when their usual sunshine/grumpy attitude is contrasted by a dark hoodie with a rain cloud on it or bright hoodie with a smiley face on it.
S: The grumpy sibling has their sunshine sibling saved on their phone with a bunch of bright emojis, and the sunshine siblings have their grumpy sibling saved on their phone with a bunch of dark emojis.
T: The sunshine sibling has an emo playlist on their phone that they blast whenever the grumpy sibling does anything. The grumpy sibling isn't sure if they find it annoying or really funny.
U: The grumpy and sunshine siblings flip their personalities with age.
V: The youngest sibling is mostly a grumpy/sunshine character, but they certainly have aspects of their personality that they picked up from their older siblings.
W: The sunshine sibling likes that their sibling is so grumpy. It makes those rare moments where they're outwardly a ray of sunshine stand out in their memory so much.
X: The grumpy sibling is the first one to try and cheer their sunshine sibling up when they get down.
Y: The grumpy sibling always shows up at their siblings door whenever they need a smile.
Z: The siblings are always compared to the sun and a storm. Therefore the grumpy/sunshine sibling gives their sibling a matching sun/storm cloud necklace set so they'll always be connected.

camping trip prompts?
A: Character A and Character B spend most of their time in a tree climbing competition.
B: The characters make a game out of who can make the most realistic animal call. It's all fun and games until an actual animal shows up to the campsite.

F: Character A casually mentions that they want to find a pinecone on this trip. Cue Character B finding at least ten pinecones to bring back to them because if they want a pine cone they're going to get a pine cone.
More Undercut
G: The character sit around the fire, telling ghost stories that each character has a certain reaction to. (EX: One character gets really paranoid. One character decides to use the story to their advantage and prank/scare their friends. One character is trying to tell a nice story because they don't really like scary things.)
H: The characters go on an annual camping trip every year, but this time a heaviness hangs over them as they know it'll be the last one like this.

L: After getting all the way to the campsite, Character A and Character B realize they left all their supplies at home. Thus, they're going to have to wing it.

Character B on the other hand has never been camping before but they do love spending time outside, so they're looking forward to the trip. As it turns out, Character A actually has a really great time touching grass, and Character B doesn't like the outdoors nearly as much as they assumed.
N: Character A is scared of the dark but really wanted to go on this camping trip anyways. Once they get to their destination the reality sets in quickly, but Character B is quickly to invite them into their tent to cuddle until their racing heart slows.
O: The characters make a contest to decide who can catch the most crawdads in the nearby creek.
P: Characters have to make an improve camping trip after they quickly needed to flee into the forest. Why they had to leave is up to you.

R: Character A and B decide to make a makeshift hammock for their weekend camping trip. How well that goes it up to you.
S: The character sit around the fire, telling the same story in a different way. (EX: The characters are talking about the fact that they saw a bear in the woods. One tells the story like it's a thrilling action movie where they barely escaped with their lives. A different character tells the story like a fluff piece because they think bears are cute.)

World Idea Prompts:
A kingdom is cloaked by darkness from morning till night. The citizens have never even seen a ray of sun as the curse that blinds them was put into place generations ago.
Then, one day, a child is born, so utterly aglow with a strange light that no one can even make out their face.

My favorite type of person for an endlessly powerful character to end up with is just some guy. Just:
Character C: "There goes Character A and B! They're such a cute couple."
Character D: "Character A and B? I've never met them before."
Character C: "I'm sure you've heard of Character A! They're so powerful they could destroy an entire planet just by thinking about it."
Character D: "That's scary. What does Character B do?"
Character C: "They work at Subway."

Reverse Character Arc Idea:
Character A and Character B have both been severely wronged by Character C.
Character A is bitter and vengeful. They spend the entire start of the story talking about how badly they want to make Character C suffer, and it seems like they'll stop at nothing to make it happen.
Character B is more forgiving. They try to put themselves in Character C's shoes and even make excuses for them. Whenever Character A goes on their little vengeance rants, they try to shut them down because they don't think they should be talking that way.
And yet…somehow, the story ends with Character B looking down at their blood-soaked hands, Character C's body lying limply beside them while Character A looks on in horror. They were just able to let their anger go.

Ways For A Character To React To: The Supernatural
A: With the stereotypical horror movie skepticism, doubting that anything they're experiencing holds any weight.
B: With advanced stereotypical horror movie skepticism, doubting anything they're experiencing holds any weight, even as someone is dragged up the ceiling by an unseen force.
C: With excitement as this proves something they've always wondered, the thrill of the unknown so much more exciting than any fear they could feel.
D: With excitement as they've always wanted to fight something presumed to be much stronger than them, their brain not working as well as their muscles tend to do.
E: By having a crisis because the existence of the supernatural challenges their world view or beliefs in a major way that they weren't prepared for.
F: By having a crisis because the supernatural beings aren't nearly as attractive as all the romance books made them out to be.
More Undercut
G: By having a crisis because the supernatural beings are far more attractive then they've ever been portrayed, making the main character ponder about their taste.
H: By researching how to become a supernatural being themselves, as their craving for a new kind of life could never be quelled.
I: By researching how to turn another into a supernatural being, either out of love or hate.
J: By handling it shockingly well and deciding to not make any hasty moves until they research a bit about these new creatures.
K: By immediately pulling out a book of lore, excited to reveal their long held but secret passion of the supernatural.
L: With an immediate feeling of protectiveness, they know that they won't let their loved ones come to harm by these creatures.
M: With an immediate feeling of protectiveness toward the supernatural creatures they're learning about. They know what it feels like to be an outsider.
N: With rage as they now owe money from a bet they made.
O: By getting away from the area where the supernatural beings are, they have no intentions of meeting one face to face.
P: By going toward the area with supernatural beings, They're naturally curious, maybe haven't heard the phrase "curiosity kills the cat," but naturally curious.
Q: By shaking with fear of the unknown. This is new territory for them, and they don't like the potential destination.
R: By embracing their fear of the unknown, hoping that fear will add strength to their bite.
S: By ignoring it and hoping their willful ignorance will save them. If they close their eyes and stick their fingers in their ears, surely everything will go back to normal eventually.
T: By ignoring it out of a level of apathy. They don't care if the world explodes tomorrow, much less if the supernatural is real.
U: With shock as a piece of their lives puzzle suddenly makes sense.
V: With excitement. As a supernatural being themselves, it's nice to know that they aren't alone in the world.
W: By going to a haunted house. They want to know how the real compares to the fake.
X: By turning to their friends with a wide shit eating grin to utter the words "I told you so!"
Y: By avoiding eye contact with their friends because they're fully aware the "I told you so" is coming.
Z: By playing "Carry On My Wayward Son."

tips on what to add to a story after the main characters start dating?
A: Have the rest of the main cast react to their relationship! Even if it's just glancing down at their intertwined hands and sharing a knowing look.
B: Add whether or not the side characters pick up on their relationships. Are they so subtle about it that someone who hasn't spent a ton of time with them wouldn't pick up on it? Or are they so obnoxious that there's no one in the world that couldn't pick up on it?
C: No relationship is perfect. Show a conflict between them now that they have an established relationship! It doesn't have to be a big deal either. It could be something as silly as they both want the last piece of pizza.
D: Put them in a situation where their strengths really work together. (EX: Character A is level headed and Character B is analytical. Maybe they could crack a dangerous puzzle by Character B figuring out the solution and Character A making sure that they don't panic.)
E: Show how it effects the couples day to day lives. Is one person staying over a lot? Are they taking time out of their schedules to make time to see each other? Is one trying to win over the others skittish pet? There are plenty of ways a relationship could change their day to day!
F: So you know the whole "would you still love me as a worm," question? Let your characters ponder something of that sort when one of your characters changes over the course of the story. (Not change into a worm necessarily. But like...how would Character A react if Character B suddenly decided that they wanted to be a warlock after spending most of the story hating magic?)
More Undercut
G: A first date moment! (Even if you don't write the first date, tell the audience what they get up to! Maybe have one of the characters mention that they went to museum with their partner. Or have them mention that they want to get ice cream once everything has calmed down.)
H: Have the characters react to each others pets. What do they think about their partners giant dog that likes to sit in peoples laps? What do they think of their cat that doesn't like new people?
I: If one characters family is a big part of the plot or their life, you could have the other character meet their family or react to them. (EX: Character A sees their brother every other weekend and wants Character B to meet him. Or Character A's sister is famous and Character B has a reaction to learning who she is.)
J: Let them have a first kiss scene if you want one and they haven't had one yet. Even if it's in the final chapter as a final moment for their characters.
K: You could have the characters move in together or discuss moving in together one day. Who would move into who's house? What would they take with them? Would they even want to move into each others house, or would they want to get their own new place together?
L: Do they wish they could change something that happened between them before they started dating? Have them talk out loud about what they could have changed. Or maybe let them daydream about it.
M: If one character holds a secret that they STILL haven't told the other, then that should probably come out at some point.
N: Let them continue having romantic moments! Let Character A bring Character B flowers. Let Character B make a big meal for Character A.
O: Let them have more physical contact. (if the characters like physical contact of course!) That contact could be: Hugging, kissing, hand holding, rubbing their back, etc.)
P: Have them challenge each other. What happens when what Character A needs isn't what Character B wants?
Q: Have them clarify what they want out of their relationship. Are they looking for a good time, or a long term commitment?
R: Have the character react to their partner being in a dangerous situation.
S: Write about the first time they say "I love you."
T: Is this couple the type to give each other pet names? Then give them pet names for each other and let them use them!
U: Let them have moments after a big event. If something huge happens show how it effects their relationship, for better or worse.
V: Let them do something that they've always wanted to do together. Have they always talked about a big trip that they should take together? Let them! (Or if you want to go for soul crushing angst...then don't.)
W: If the couple getting together has been a big focus in your story, it wouldn't hurt to let them have at least one scene that's just them together after their romance starts. It could be a date scene, them talking about the stories events, exploring somewhere, etc.
X: Keep showing what attracts them to each other, even after they're together. Does Character A like how strong Character B is? Then let Character B have a chance to carry them bridal style.
Y: If they're trying to hide their relationship for any reason, put them in some situations where it's hard to hide. Or just have them struggle keeping it to themselves.
Z: If you don't want to write a sequel, and you don't plan on your story having an fast forward epilogue, have the couple mention what they want out of their relationship give the audience some idea of what's next for them. (EX: Maybe they both want to get married. Maybe they want kids. Maybe they want to foster animals. Maybe they want to travel.)

So you know the trope where one character gets close to the other to use them but OH NO now they have feelings?
What about that trope where both characters were originally using each other for something? Perhaps they even had a verbal or written agreement that they do something in exchange for the other person doing something.
Of course, this all changes when they both start having feelings for the other. That leaves the questions: Do they still want to go through with their deal? Do they believe that the other persons feelings for them are genuine? How to do they bring up that the deal they originally made means so little to them now compared to their company?
I just think this dynamic could be very interesting, very angsty, very funny, or maybe a little bit of all of those things!
