The Qrow/Tyrian/Clover Fight Is The Dumbest Shit Ever.
The entire sequence leading up to and the fight itself are honestly the worst writing I think I’ve ever seen in a show. All of the characters act like total idiots, throw away all previous characterization, all to serve a stupid 'shock' ending that was incredibly obvious from the start.
For some reason the ship isn't the same prison type that the protagonists ended up in at the beginning of the season. Well I know the reason. If it had been that type Tyrian wouldn't have been able to kill the pilots, thus he wouldn't be able to escape. So instead of writing a different escape for him, they just have everyone decide *not* to bring a prisoner transport ship while moving a mass murderer capable of killing seasoned huntsman.
Robyn might be hot-headed and distrustful of Ironwood, but I think even she would be smart enough not to start a fight in a small cramped plane. A plane where the Pilots are very likely to get hit in the cross-fire, and when everyone else says they don't want to fight. Oh, and with the mass murderer from before sitting FIVE FEET AWAY. Then guess what happens? He escapes! Who could've seen that coming. Again, Robyn is written like a completely different character and idiot so that Tyrian can escape.
Clover is written like a literal robot with a one-track mind only capable of doing one thing at a time. He targets Qrow seemingly because that was his most recent order. Clover knows that Tyrian is an actual psychopath who can and will kill either of them at the drop of a hat. Tyrian literally killed the pilots earlier and dropped their hats. Any person who valued their life would know Tyrian is a far greater threat.
Clover is written as if he's a cold calculating authoritarian, but if anything, he was the MOST human out of the Ace Ops. He's one of the only people Qrow connects with on a more personal level. Clover before this episode was perhaps the most likeable and 'normal' atlas person next to Weiss. The Clover in the finale is a totally different Clover from the earlier parts of the season. All so the show can justify him targeting Qrow over Tyrian, when no one should ever treat Tyrian as the lesser threat.
Qrow treats Tyrian as the lesser threat. Which again, makes no sense. Both Clover and Qrow should know what Tyrian would do. Betray them. And that's exactly what he does. Qrow should've known what helping Tyrian would mean. And before anyone says, 'they didn't team up',Clover had Tyrian tied up and instead of using the chance to beat the shit out of a defenceless Tyrian, Qrow attacks Clover and sets Tyrian free. After their ‘lets put the kid to bed’ scene, Qrow never attacks Tyrian again.
Qrow has the chance to multiple times during the fight, but he doesn't attack Tyrian. The only time is when Clover throws Tyrian into Qrow, and was an accident. Qrow and Tyrian teamed up. Qrow teamed up with a guy who probably killed multiple friends of his, nearly killed him, tried to kill his niece, and has made it clear will try to kill him if given the chance.
Also look at this image. This is almost identical to the type of team-attacks you'd see duo's like Ruby/Weiss do. So They Worked Together. I'm tired of seeing people say they didn't. They did. It's shitty writing and you don't have to try and justify it. Qrow worked with his universe's Joker to kill a personal friend. It's horrible writing and a insult to his character, but it happened. Trying to say they didn't work together is just wrong.
I honestly think this whole fight sequence killed any and all hope I had for the series. The writers are totally willing to pull shit like this, dumb characters down to this point, all to serve a shock ending by killing of Clover. Except that wasn't even a shock. No one actually thought the Ace-ops would be anything more than fodder for RWBY to beat and show how strong they were. Which is exactly what they ended up being in the show, by the way. So Clover's death isn't even really a shock.
Its legitmately one of the worst written things I've seen and I can't believe people actually try to defend it.

How y'all look when you say Oscar and Ruby's age difference is bad when you ship WhiteRose/Lancaster despite them having the exact same age difference.

Jaune attacked Oscar. The show should actually acknowledge that.
Jaune attacked Oscar and shoved him against a wall. Had it not been for the others being there he certainly would’ve hurt him further. Yet the show doesn’t actually address this, instead deciding that we should feel bad for HIM instead of the person he just physically assaulted. Which is something that the show constantly does. Jaune is always in the right and always justified, he’s never actually punished for his actions, unlike the other characters in the series. Because he’s such a fan favorite and self-insert for all the generic white guys who think that just being a nice person is enough to win them the heart of women. This is just going to be a continuing trend of the show. Jaune actively drags the show down, and if he wasn’t such a self-insert no one would care about him.

Nobody ever mentions that. Yeah, Weiss was the one whose Aura was broken, but Ruby was downed and had just laid damage to Cinder. Not only does Cinder ignore her beef with Ruby to fight Jaune, she ignores Ruby's attack to hurt Weiss. Cinder was basically wrestled away from what her in-character self would've done to make some drama for Jaune.
Exactly. Just like how Yang, who had had various bonding moments with Weiss throughout the season, gets wrestled away from all that so it’s only Jaune who runs to Weiss’ aid after she’s got injured. Or just like Ruby barely has any reaction upon seeing her partner deadly injured upon waking up, hardly showing any strong emotion and only going as far as to state “I’m angry” next to Yang, but never actually showing any of that emotion, unlike how Jaune is downright excessively emotional throughout the whole sequence.
EDIT: Oh, and let’s not forget: Nobody but Jaune reacting to Weiss screaming her lungs out when Vernal manages to break her Aura, yet Ruby actually goes “Silver Eyes Nuts” just because she sees Jaune and Cinder rushing towards one another and somehow THAT reminds her of Pyrrha’s death.
It’s like during the whole sequence something was sending the subliminal message into their brain of “Nobody does anything relevant, this is Jaune’s moment!”, which is really one of the main reasons for which the entire Battle of Haven is an unbelievable mess…
And then there’s the whole thing with Raven but that’s a whole other issue…

Watching just for fight scenes doesn’t make you any less of a fan.
There’s this idea I’ve seen parroted around that if you only watch RWBY for the fight scenes, than you were never a “true” fan and that your opinion doesn’t matter.  This has always bothered me for a number of reasons. Mainly though that the fight scenes was literally everything that RWBY was in the beginning. It was mainly a show based around the idea of having fights. One of the core features of the show, aura, was made specifically to facilitate fights.  And yet getting into the show for those fight scenes is seen as being lesser than getting into it for some other reason?  If you watch or watched RWBY mainly for the fight scenes, then your opinion is just as valid as anyone else’s and doesn’t make you any less of a fan of the show.

This is the official Blake figurine being sold on Rooster Teeth’s store. WHY ARE HER TITS SO HUGE?! LOOK AT THEM! THEY’RE GIGANTIC! WAY BIGGER THAN CANON! THIS HAPPENED IN CROSS TAG TOO! WHY DO THEY KEEP MAKING HER BREASTS SO BIG!? Also the face is ugly and I’m pretty sure her shirt shouldn’t hug her breasts like that.

Jaune wouldn’t be more well-liked if he was a girl
This is an idea I see parroted a LOT. It’s usually used as a way to try and point out some hypocrisy in the fandom, but really it just show’s how little thought people actually put into Jaune and how hypocritical the person saying it actually is. I guarantee you that if Jaune was a girl, he’d be a lot more hated than he currently is. People tend not to like weak female characters in action shows. A good example of this is Sakura from Naruto. They tend to get hated the most. Not to mention, I bet a lot of Jaune’s fans only like him because of the fact that he’s one of the only male main characters, regardless of the content of his actual character. If he was a girl, there is no way that most of the fanfiction on fanfiction.net would be about him.  Jaune as a girl would lose so many fans its not even funny. Jaune owes a huge chunk of his fan following because of the fact he’s male in a overwhelmingly female cast. Take that away from him, and I’m willingly to bet most of his current stans wouldn’t give him a second look because they can’t self-insert onto a girl.

RWBY is bad
RWBY is only a good show if you’ve literally never seen anything that’s halfway decent. Its characters pale in comparison to actual good shows, the only really good thing about it (the fights) were lost after v3, and the plot is a jumbled mess that doesn’t make sense half the time. It’s villains are extremely one note, the main character has had 0 development, and a lot of screen time is squandered on secondary characters that aren’t important at all.  RWBY is a bad show, and it baffles me when people un-ironically try to call it great.

Hot Take: Jaune’s Semblance and his Stans
Jaune stans don’t actually care about Jaune as a character, they only care about how they can self-insert onto him. They don’t care at all about what makes narrative sense for him as a character, they only care if they can feel like their self-insert is a badass.  Asking for Jaune to use his semblance to make only himself stronger completely misses the point of Jaundice as an arc (which is that Jaune shouldn’t be trying to do everything on his own) and only makes sense if you want Jaune to be strong for your self-inserts fantasizes. Having Jaune use his semblance to become uber powerful is a complete betrayal of Jaundice and of Pyrrha’s teachings to him.  I’ve seen tons of Jaune stans begging for Jaune to use his semblance so he could become super strong and beat up people and that they don’t want him to support his friends using it. For people who are fans of Jaune, they sure do miss the entire point of his character and of his first arc in the show.
