Thanks to @authoroflight for the original template! (Though I might have customized it beyond recognizability ksdjgnsd)
2023... I got a lot of art done this year compared to past years! Though the year started out slow, between trades and commissions, the first quarter of the year somehow managed to have at least one good drawing a month, even if March's old-sketch-paintover looks a little strange next to all the creatures. XD; May and June continued the theme of painting over old, though June's original was considerably newer than May's. It also took me forever to find it!! Several of the ones I'd been going to put for June turned out to be from different months (no date on them so was going by modified date at first, oops!). And in July of course there was the Clysmia comic, August with the Choco 'comic'. September was another low but I managed to churn out another paintover. October of course had my annual flower-drawing saga with the last one featured here, and in November I got bored and drew Comet, and December held a delightful surprise in the form of a book-illustrating commission. :3 Gonna keep that one to just a preview since it's part of something that'll be published.
But! Let's go through all the rest. Keep reading for more on the rest of the pieces.
January - This was a secret santa for my good friend @toothpaste-dragon of her OC Baz! Love this grumpy crust of an alien. :D You can view the full pic here.
February - This was a commission from @dreagonarchives of her guy Guido! Full pic: x
March - Paintover I did of my character Sleepi from Torn Apart! Since it was done over an older pic the style looks a little incongruent from my current style 馃槄 But this was also almost a year a go now, so, y'know.
April - My half of a design trade with @chrystallink! Doggos are a bit of a challenge for me, but it was a fun one! Full pic: x
May - A fittingly sunny pic of my character Nola. This was another one that I think had started from a paintover and just went places from there. Still a little strange-looking, but oh well. Plus a photo of some sunflowers in the background. XD
June: Progress pic of an absolute freak. An attempt was made to sketch out a hand to keep it from hiding, but I never did get back to this pic... 馃槀
July: As mentioned above, a comic for my good friend Dia featuring her gal Clysmia!
August: The tail end of a final ArtFight attack against Chocobir! I had so much fun putting in on the Easter eggs, and Choco is so cute!
September: The suave business lizard himself, it's Nell! Another one that's painted over an older sketch. Overall I think I improved the face shape a bit since the sketch? Maybe?
October: The final flower from Floratober 2023! I had a lot of fun and it was so great getting so much feedback this year. The wonders of posting on places other than Tumblr! lol.
November: Comet from Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san! Whenever I need to get away and draw, Comet is there as my comfort anime. :) It's been a while since I've drawn the girl and watched the last bundle of episodes!
December: And of course, December's art! From a very fittingly snowy-themed project. :) I don't know yet how much I'll be able to talk about it, but it's certainly going to keep me busy for a while!

I've gotten some more energy to draw lately now that I have a less demanding job, plus Thanksgiving break, and NaNo hasn't completely drained the rest of my energy, so... :v Art! Still has some areas I was thinking of cleaning up, so if this looks different the next time you see it, you'll know what happened.

Karakaramiin Riifu
A plant found on islands near Furheart Iiah. Another variety grows on the continent as well, but it bears more cottony tufts and is a lighter pink. Attempts have been made to cultivate the plant in Wing Alaynan soil, but they have been largely unsuccessful thus far. The plant is quite popular with Neonyas and Kitonyas especially, having a mild hyperactive effect on them. The flowers have something of a nutty taste to them, and may cause Buddys to feel snackish and want more of them, but otherwise does not have quite the same effect on them. The leaves have a watery, much milder nut taste to them, a bit like water chestnuts. The roots produce tubers much like water chestnuts as well. The plant makes for a very popular house plant if its needs can be properly attended to, even for non-pet owners who also don't particularly care for the taste of the plant. That said though, it needs to be kept in a capsule that imitates its native climate, and such technology is only found in the Queen's Palace, so it can be a bit of a hassle for potential owners to obtain the means to properly care for one.

Halafura Duloa
The petals of this flower were once so frequently used in tea that the flowers were never seen beyond the closed blossom stage, leading some to believe that Halafura Duloa flowers never opened. It was also once believed that the flowers would only open simultaneously. While this does frequently occur with Halafura Duloa pairs, there are some that choose to open at a different time than their twin.
Originating from Fuline Ah, the Halafura Duloa is sometimes also spotted along the west coast of Wing Alayna.

Tula Flowers
Thought to be a sky variant of Varia Maria, Tula Flowers can be found growing in patches in Sky Buddy World. The flowers are primarily decorative and grow wild on small clouds. Though the petals can be added to tea, they don't add much in terms of flavor. They are often the inspiration for floral patterns among sky-dwelling Fashion Buddys, and are sometimes used for dye or pressed flowers, but aren't preferred for thread production, as they tend to make thread curl like their stems when they come in contact with it.

Furheartian Varia Maria
A simple flower found to be growing in Furheart Iiah. Its bright pink stems are reminiscent of Vina Heartias, leading some to believe they are related.
Varia Marias come in a large variety of shapes and adapt to their environment. As a result, many flowers by the Varia Maria name look nearly nothing alike despite their documented ancestry. Due to how different they look, they are sometimes given native names and their status as a Varia Maria becomes separate.
Identifying a flower as a Varia Maria always starts with hearing from the locals about the flower's ancestry. Other than the fact that Varia Marias are always small, there is often very little linking any given small flower to the Varia Maria family, but beliefs about them abound. It was once thought that there was only one Varia Maria per continent, but this was later discovered to be untrue. That said, their adaptations seem to be linked to the area that they grow in, and some types of Varia Maria can be quite rare.
The Furheartian Varia Maria in particular is deceptively rare; it has the look of a very common flower, or like it might be a hybrid of a Vinia Heartia and some other plant. And while it isn't confirmed whether or not it has mixed ancestry, there is a reason that it was thought to be the only one on the continent for a long time.

Kreflower Kleera
A clear flower that grows in Crescent Minoria. Unlike many of its peers, this plant grows with absolutely no pigment. This is thought to be due to how quickly it absorbs and utilizes the moonlight it receives from Crescent Minoria's moon, leaving no time for it to develop pigmentation. Though they were once reported to have light pink, transparent petals and dark green stems that were likewise transparent, it seems they have more recently adapted to develop no pigmentation whatsoever. What caused this adaptation to occur is currently unclear.

Yifli Tinitrii
A small tree found on certain Fuline Ah islands. Also called the Fulinean Varia Maria, some of these trees can be quite old despite their small stature, and are thought to be the ancestors of many of the current species of Varia Maria.
Varia Marias are a genus of plants with a broad range as they tend to adapt and change according to their environment. It was once believed that only one type of Varia Maria grew on each continent, but others of the same and different varieties have been found in various locations. That said, these new types do seem to only grow in a limited range, and even in their native growing area, many varieties tend to be few in number.

Curloa Pinwheria
Thought to be related to the Windia Flowana, but more closely associated with the Pinwheria Magnificentia. Like the Windia Flowana, the Curloa Pinwheria derives much of its energy from the wind. It likes growing in windy places such as the windward side of the Great Buddy Mountains and Highlands, but can be found wherever it can get a decent wind. If it finds its way to a place without much wind, it tends to droop, and may even recede back into the soil.

Wispa Klaudaliif
A cloud flower that bears some resemblance to the sky Lar and Lifernandes families. It is also thought to bear some connection to the white Wing Alaynia plants as well due to their resemblance.
Wispa Klaudaliifs sway at the slightest wind, and are known for the undulating movement their stem and petals make during strong winds, somehow always remaining graceful no matter the gale. Some think of it as the seaweed of the sky for this reason.
Wispa Klaudaliifs are wild flowers that may serve as inspiration for itinerant Fashion Buddys, and their petals may sometimes be added to tea, but they have a very mild flavor, making them better suited to merely adding color to any given culinary creation than rather than enhancing something's taste.

M眉nlala Spikalif
Another one of the flora found on Hoshimi Island, the M眉nlala's stem and leaf texture is a bit more like a succulent than the other more glass-like stems of other flora found on the island closer to the Crescent Minoria continent. It retains many features suited for a dry climate, perhaps evidencing some influence from the other nearest continent, Koraln Sing, or else potentially Wing Alayna where some of its relatives may be found. It is thought to have some connection to the Omu-omu Plantai due to the similarity of texture between the M眉nlala's stem/leaves and the bracts of the former. For this reason, it is also thought there could be M眉nlala with a variety of stem colors including purple, as the Omu-omu Plantai is normally found in purple, but as Hoshimi Island is still newly discovered, there have yet to be any sightings of M眉nlala with varying stem colors. However, it is quite possible that it could be bred to have a variety of stem colors at the very least, and horticulturists are eager for the chance to prove this hypothesis correct.
As for its glowing fruit, there is still not much known. It is thought to be related to perhaps the Spirra Starra due to the fact they both glow, but their connection is tenuous at best. As samples are sent back to the Queen's Palace in central west Wing Alayna for study, researchers expect to have a better grasp on the properties of this newly discovered flora.

Twis-Tia Pathvine
The Twis-Tia Pathvine is the third of the main three types of Pathvine, which are large vines that act as pathways between the ground and sky, specifically Wing Alayna and Sky Buddy World for the ones that can be found there. Twis-Tia Pathvines can be found in west Wing Alayna by the Great Buddy River and several other locations out to sea.

Tamalia Shuwana
The Tamalia Shuwana grows a fruit with a hard shell. Inside is a honey-like substance. It is customary to use it during the Tea Festival to sweeten tea. Its hard shell dissolves in water, so it only fruits during the driest parts of the year. If it is exposed to rain during this time, the honey-like substance inside it hardens to preserve its shape. Because of its sensitivity to water, the fruit is often harvested when it is dry and kept safe until the proper time when it is customarily used.

Starla Tree
A tropical tree found on the Fuline Islands and the west coast of Wing Alayna by the Great Buddy Forest. Their fruits can be found in different colors depending on the season, ranging from blue to pink and even yellow. They have a somewhat sour taste in the dry season, pictured here, and are sometimes used for making jam. In the rainy season they turn blue and have a much more watery taste. When the rainy season breaks, they become yellow and have the sweetest taste then.
