Book 18 of 70
Simul by Andrew Caldecott ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Momenticon #2
384 pages, published 2024
Did I enjoy this book yes, do I know exactly what happened no! Well sort of we follow Fogg, Morag and friends as as they travel through an inhospitable landscape, through paintings, mountains and caves in a race against extinction. Its a science/ fantasy/ Apocalypse and dystopian fiction with a hint of Alice in wonderland.
I think a re read of both Momenticon and Simul is inn order at a later date

Book 17 0f 70
Poyums by Len Pennie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
128 pages, published 2024
Such a powerful piece of work absolutely broke my heart and mended it again, written in a mix of English and Scots . It covers very painful subjects like domestic abuse, depression and the issues women face in society. I cried sad tears, angry tears and the occasional happy one's.

For no apparent reason I though I would go through my reading list goal and see what I've read and what I can cross off, so let's see
Divine Might by Natalie Haynes - read
Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul by Douglas Adams - read
Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - read
The Inimitable Jeeves by P . G Wodehouse - read
The Man who Spoke Snakeish by Avdrius Kivrahk -not read
Death in Heels by Kitty Murphy- read
The Doll by Daphnie du Maurier - read
Great Explanation by Charles Dickins - not read
Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett - not read
Leviathan by Rosie Andrews - not read
Watchmen by Alan Moore - read
So out of 11 books I've already read 7 so not bad at all considering it's only March, I'm considering dnfing The Man who Spoke Snakeish only because I wasn't enjoying it but I will make that decision when I pick it up next x

Book 13 of 70
The Night Circus bu Erin Morgenstern
387 pages, published 2011
I've heard so much about this book and how good it is, and seen so many videos where this is there favourite book. I avoided this book because I fear its not going to live up to the hype... It really does an amazing book well written with great use of second person narrative.
It follows Celia and Marco who find themselves being trained for a deadly magical dual which will test there limits and imagination whilst creating a fantastical circus.

Book 9 0f 70 and off my 2024 goal
Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons
424 pages, published 1987
Who watches the watchmen
I don't usually read graphic novels but I have seen the movie and the TV show and loved them both so I thought it was only polite to read the source material. I really enjoyed reading it and it has inspired me to read more from Alan Moore (ive read V for Vendetta) and other graphic novels based on tv shows i have enjoyed watching. Its set during the cold war a group of superheroes try to solve a murder as well as catastrophic world changing events, while trying to navigate there own lives.

Book 8 of 70
Winter's gift book 9.5 of the River of London series by Ben Aaronovitch, 224 pages, published 2023
Set in the United States of America and follows FBI Agent Kimberly Reynolds as she solves magical case.
The normal books are set in London and follows Peter Grant and this is the only book that follows a side character and developes her more. I really enjoyed this book like I do all Ben Aaronovitchs books.
