Theobald Gumbar and a fighting team MUCH more competent than the Tartguard

Aegislash - the 'royal sword' pokemon seems fitting for the most respectable of knights. Said to be able to tell a good leader and often at kings coronations, it all fits. Plus the guy literally holds a huge sword and shield.

Bisharp - Bisharp is to Knight as Kingambi is to King. Good counterpart to Amethar's Kingambit. Also leads pawniards around, just like Theobald with the tartguard and knights of north gumbia.

Ekans - The best representation I could get for Princess whose existence makes me sob huge tears.

Escavalier - The most knight a person could be and Theobald literally won the jousting competition so it makes sense to give him a jousting pokemon.

Tyranitar - One of the most popular tanks in pokemon, perfect for Theobald whose literally strat

Ursaring - Did I just give him a big bear because HE is a big bear? ... yes.

MY QUEEN, Queen Saccharina of House Frostwhip, and her royal pokemon team.

Abomasnow - A dairy queen blizzard sorceress definitely needs a pokemon that could cause a blizzard.

Alakazam - She uses a spoon as a weapon, it uses a spoon as a weapon... c'mon. BUT ALSO for her defense and use of magic, it just makes sense to give her the magician.

Kingdra - Kijngdra may seem odd, BUT, it has a lot of storm powers, like ability to cause tsunamis and tornadoes and stuff, so does our storm sorceror who literally demolished her old orphanage with a storm, she's ICONIC.

Marowak (Alolan) - Saccharina has one of the most tragic backstories maybe ever? Alolan Marowak is exactly like that, somehow more tragic than Cubone original flavor. An orphan who has suffered a TREMENDOUS amount, but fierce, tough, and ruthless because of this.

Salamence - Literally called THE Dragon Pokemon, it seemed a pretty apt representation for Cinnamon. Plus the description in bulbapedia just feeds into that. 'constantly flies around and releases intense blasts of fire as an expression of its joy' 'If enraged, it loses all sense of self and flies into an uncontrollable rampage, destroying everything around it'

Vanilluxe - Ice cream cone pokemon for ice cream cone gal.

Ruby Rocks and so do her pokemon! What do you mean I already used that one???

Aipom - I think a perfect pokemon for an aspiring acrobat. I know those dreams kind of go out the way early on, but it still resonates.

Armarouge - I picked a lot of this pokemon because they have counterparts that would work for the sisters so well and this is one of them. On top of that this pokemon has a fierceness which rivals Ruby's by the end of the show. and it shoots projectiles, just like the master of the twizzling bow does.

Espeon - Psychic powers which makes sense for a sorceror. But also cat-like which is good for a rogue.

Gardevoir - A counterpart to her sister's Gallade. A magical, vicious pokemon for our arcane trickster.

Plusle - Again, a counterpart for one of her sisters pokemon. Plus its a good rep of the lockets of the sweetest heart which only work TOGETHER, much like plusle and minun work best together.

Talonflame - A falcon to represent her familiar, Butterscotch!

Liam Wilhelmina and the pokemon that are slamming it down big style... on the battlefield.

Dustox - This one is kind of about the whole evolutionary line. Wurmple is a powerful, but cute little guy. Cascoon is consistently planning revenge on those who hurt it. Dustox is there to get that revenge. Reminds me a lot of Liam.

Ivysaur - A seed pokemon for THE seed guy! Also, c'mon, Liam would love an Ivysaur, that royal gardener.

Lechonk (shiny) - ... I mean... c'mon. Had to give him the pinkest version I could find to match the red and white of peppermint preston who I AM STILL MOURNING TO THIS DAY

Miltank - Well, one, I wanted to give Liam another pink pokemon for his aesthetic. But more importantly, two, he ends up with Primsy! The milk bottle!

Noviern - PERFECT for a gloomstalker ranger. Can see well in the dark and takes advantage of those who don't. Angry, but tamable. Also has the ace flag colors..

Staraptor - An emo pokemon for the kid who has seen too much. But also Staraptor is the Starly who has grown tough enough to not need a flock anymore. It goes to live on its own, which reminds me soo much of Liam leaving the great rock candy mountain.

Lapin Cadbury aka Rabbit ChocolateEgg and his pocket monster team

Alcremie (Ribbon Sweet, Ruby Cream) - A sweets-based fairy-type to made as purple as possible to be the best representation of the sugar plum fairy that I could find.

Bunnelby - Bunnelby may not fit thematically but it IS a bunny rabbit that um looks like its dipped in chocolate... shut up, it works.

Sinistea - Remember the little broken teacup from the fairy summoning ceremony? I sure do and sinistea fits that to a T!

Sudowoodo - I wanted to give Lapin a pokemon that was pretending to be something it wasn't, but Ditto or Mimikyu didn't sit right, didn't match his vibes. Sudowoodo on the other hand? A rock pretending to be a plant? Dont ask, just accept, it fits.

Tadbulb - Even if Lapin doesn't really worship the bulb, he knows quite a bit about its religion and practices and he has to keep up appearances! So the lightbulb pokemon makes sense.

Zoroark (Hisuian) - A ghost pokemon did seem very fitting for Lapin. But also, it has a lot of bitterness and hatred. And as caring as Lapin is, he also carries such a hilariously bitter energy. "We're all going to dieee."

Jet Rocks and her Bastard pokemon

Ceruledge - A sword fighter pokemon for our sword fighter. Also a counterpart to her sisters armourage or however u spell it.

Gallade - Another pokemon that's counterpart to one of her sisters. And a really good pokemon for a fighter and a princess that wants to be on the battlefield SO bad

Minun - The counterpart to Ruby's Plusle. Again, a representation of the lockets of the sweetest hearts.

Samurott - Another sword fighter pokemon for our sword fighter. Tough and ready for battle just like Jet. And also I know in my heart that she would fucking love this pokemon from oshawott onward.

Umbreon - The dark type pokemon that is a counterpart to Espeon. It fits her aesthetic so well.

Yamask - A ghost type seemed a necessary addition and also this pokemon is literally me whenever I think about Jet.

Cumulous Rocks and his pokemon do too

Combusken - I had to give Cumulous a chicken pokemon for that scene at the end of the season that actually heals my heart when I think of it. But also works well for him as a fighting type w/ monk themes.

Gastly - The gas pokemon. This may be a stretch to some, but in my sick head, the coolest move Cumulous does in the season is casting gaseous form from his staff (he does it a couple of times) so this pokemon is just like him in that way

Greavard - Had to give him a ghost pokemon considering how death is a big theme for the character. PLUS, greavard steals life energy from others - just like Cumulous. Also friendly, but offputting.

Mawile - Capable of eating almost anything in a single bite - seems like a good fit for a character that gets his power from The Hungry One.

Starmie - For a character that remains a bit unknown throughout the series I had to give it the mysterious pokemon. Seemingly from another world and surprisingly powerful in ours.

Swirlix - It's cotton candy pokemon for cotton candy man!

King Amethar of House Rocks, first of his name, sovereign ruler of Candia and the Sugar Lands, Duke of Cookieshire, Protector of the Realm and Defender of the Faith, Bannerman of the Battle of Gumdrop Pass and Hero of Frosting Valley, the Unfallen - and also some pokemon

Bastiodon - Had to give Amethar some good tanks and Bastiodon is great, perfect for the Unfallen. But also, it's bastion, like a castle? Perfect for a king.

Bouffalant - Another tank, can soak up those hard hits without going down, can rage which makes sense for a barbarian, and just like Amethar strikes me as hard-headed but lovable.

Braviary (Hisuian) - Brave, prideful, hard-headed, loyal, fights till it goes down. The hisuian form is known as the 'war cry' pokemon which works for the war guy. and it can cause 'shock waves' and for a storm herald barbarian that seems fitting.

Kingambit - A king for a king. Evolves from defeating other pokemon in battle. and straight from bulbapedia, "Flawed at devising complex strategies, but is still extremely powerful"

Slurpuff - This one doesn't have anything to do w/ Amethar himself, but moreso the kingdom he rules. It feels like a good rep for the citizens of candia, those sweet lovable goofs like the ice cream guy.

Trevenant - What a huge angry fucket, ready to hand out a fucking ass whooping to anyone who crosses it or those dear to it heart. Exactly like Amethar, ready to kill anyone who has harmed his family (read: calroy)

Ragh is, well, Ragh. Antiope is tired of her family's wickedly regimented diet. Penny, Ostentatia, Adaine and Sam aren't hungry and just want to amuse and/or baffle the person at the till. Kristen genuinely wants the clerk's phone number, or possibly her vote for class president. Fabian would rather be eating a kobe beef cheesesteak and drinking evian. Danielle is so stoned she's wandering around on Ruidus with Bell's Hells, somehow. Katya has never had McDonald's and Zelda is too anxious to make a decision. Gorgug and Fig can't decide if they want 69 20 piece nuggets or thirty seven apple pies. Riz has SHIT TO DO, thanks

Sofia Bicicleta Lee Bicicleta LEE and her kickass pokemon team.

Espeon - I had to give Sofia some cats for La Gran Gata, and as a warlock patron I figured a magic psychic cat was apt. Plus its said to be found in urban areas!

Froslass - The pokemon that hates men! Obviously sofia doesn't hate men, but she's very into women's solidary and taking a stance against predatory men who try to prey on women and these two's vibes definitely go together.

Meowth (Galarian) - I wanted to give her a second cat, so sue me. Meowth are urban pokemon, so tha tracks. I also thought it would be fun to have a 'sea-faring' pokemon, since she lives on Staten Island.

Raticate (Alolan) - Remember when Sofia brushed out Kugrash's fur? Alolan raticate looks exactly like that. She'd definitely get a pokemon that reminded her of her most precious friend, Kug.

Sawk - C'MON! She's a monk! She leads a dojo! I had to give her the two pokemon that look like they belong in that world.

Ricky would love pokemon, but I bet he has beef with Pokemon Go (too many people running into poles)

Absol - This pokemon can predict disasters and the safety guy would probably be interested in a pokemon that can do that.

Blastoise - He may not be a firefighter anymore, but he'd probably still want something by his said able to squelch a fire in a matter of minutes.

Braviary - Braviary is perfect for a hero of New York it's extremely brave and loyal, fighting to the death to protect those it loves.

Incineroar - Did I pick this mainly to have a buff pokemon with abs to match Ricky? .... no. Though it took him awhile to get there I think Ricky really works as a mentor for Cody and I think he'd do well with a pokemon that can be a heel but also has a soft side.

Joltund - Of course he needed a pokemon for his familiar, Ox, the dalmatian. There's no dalmation pokemon, but this energetic greyhound is the next best thing.

Palafin - Did I choose this pokemon because it made me laugh that it's one letter away from paladin... no. I also chose it becuase it's a hero and their abs match. shut up.
