This fandom likes to praise (or even hail) TDP for their LGBTQ+ rep, but in all honesty it's completely half-assed; we have Annika and Neha, who are dead (and got a really terrible kiss to boot); we have Runaan and Ethari, who are separated; and then we have Kazi, who was only confirmed non-binary on Twitter and not in the show. Of course the show's not over, and we still have yet to see what's in store for Amaya and Janai, for example, but if the show wanted true LGBTQ+ rep they would have given Rayla a girlfriend or Callum a boyfriend, or something to that effect. I just think many things could have been done a lot better.

Here, Viren calls Callum an ‘impudent little mongrel’. i never really realised the weight of this until I remembered that ‘mongrel’ is synonymous with ‘half-breed’ or ‘cross breed’, referring to to his heritage, between Sarai and his father?
