Imagine you're Ezra Bridger. You've been gone for a decade, and one of the first things that happens when you return to your own galaxy is the New Republic throws a Big Important Party in your honor. There's a lot of people you know, some people you don't recognize, some random guy carrying a random baby, some people you think you should recognize but don't, and some people you know you'll recognize once you start talking to them.

At your party, you run into that smuggler guy who double crossed you and your entire crew one time. "What's he doing here?" you ask. Turns out, he joined the Rebellion and later the New Republic, thanks to his old poker buddy, Han.

And then you meet a total stranger who's so force sensitive it's almost palpable. "What is he doing here?" you ask. Turns out, he's a hero of the Rebellion, has connections to at least five other people you know, and mentions his best friend, Han, who you've just gotta meet, he's such a cool guy.

And then you see this huge wookiee and you're like "What is he doing here?" and someone's like "oh, he met Ahsoka back in the Clone Wars, and he's an important Rebellion hero. And he's Han's co-pilot."

And so at this point, all you know is that some guy here named Han is the "coolest guy in the world" and was poker buddies with one of the sleaziest guys you've ever met and his co-pilot is a massive hulking BEAST.

And THEN you see the stubborn princess senator you met during the war! And you're like "What's she doing here?" and one of your friends is like "She's a senator in the New Republic and was a leader in the Rebellion, she's come to thank you for your sacrifice."

And then you start talking to the Princess she's like "oh have you met my husband, Han?" and you're thinking "oh shoot the legendary Han, the Han, the coolest guy in the world who hangs out with sleazebags and wookies is married to the princess????" And she's like, "Oh, there he is you have to meet my husband Han" and then you meet Han and he's.

He's the random guy who's been carrying a baby around for your entire party.

You know, there is probably a reason the Jedi typically took toddlers rather than infants.

Mostly that I'm picturing a nursery full of Force sensitive babies that have learned to roll one direction but not the other broadcasting "YODA! YODA! I'M ON MY TUMMY! HELP!" through the entire Temple.

I'm also picturing Yoda closing his eyes in the middle of a Jedi Council meeting that is annoying him and then explaining "Sleeping I am not. Rolling the younglings back I was. More productive it is."

I just want to say I really really loved your Askbensolo stuff. some of it was actually hard to read just because you captured so well what a dumb 14yol arguing online is like, or... everything to do with snoke (I love what you did with snoke).

I can't rebog every post from the blog, but I think by now I have read 80% of it.

I’ve been meaning to go back and read through it too, to refresh myself on Ben’s history and the blog “canon”, but I haven’t brought myself to do it yet because—yeah, it is hard to read, like you said. Especially for me, since so much of my own 16-19yo self went into Ben. When I read certain parts of the blog, I’m like “Oh yeah. I know what teenage me was going through that led her to write this.” Some things I’m shocked to have written, really.

I’m glad you appreciated my portrayal of Snoke! I have to go back and refresh on that storyline, but I know I based it on my personal struggles with temptation and unhealthy compulsions.

It was pretty special to run that blog about being a teenager when the sequels were coming out. I think it resonated with other people who were my age. Now that the sequels are done I don’t think the blog will ever be as popular as it was before, and I will never have as much free time as I did in high school, but I’m interested to see Ben as a young adult with new things in life to face, and I hope I can still put a lot of love and care into the blog. :)

Enso (the silicone ring brand) has a really cool Star Wars collection that’s on sale this week, including a Kylo Ren design (it’s the only one on clearance because my boi is garbage and nobody wants him HAHAHA) and I need a new silicone wedding band cuz it’s getting warmer and my ring finger swelled—but……wearing a ring with Kylo Ren on it…to honor the commitment I made to my husband before God and man…seems……incorrect lol

while everyone else plays modern games with modern problems i have time traveled back to 2003 and am having a great time in kotor. i have one companion so far. every twenty minutes the game pans to him making a constipated face for thirty seconds and i say 'okay carth what's up, you've been sulking around behind me looking SO much like a guy who wanted to be asked what was up that the game noticed' and carth says STOP TALKING TO ME I HAVE TRUST ISSUES and i'm like 'ok that's fine' and he's like WELL IF WE MUST TALK and then goes on telling me about his trust issues for five more minutes. verisimilitude in gaming
