I went with something a little different for this year’s birthday art. Normally I have Mangy and Freddie interacting through an existing photograph of him from the 1980s, but this time I decided to actually draw him. Specifically in the 70s since it is more relevant to the first Era of Monstrous Majesty.

This artwork depicts both Freddie Mercury and Mercury Mangy in the world of Rhye. When Freddie was a child, he and his sister created a fantasy world with ogres, fairies, kings, and queens. In the 1970s Rhye was introduced to the world in song form…and became Queen’s secret little rock opera in their first 3 albums. In my art Mangy shows Freddie my interpretation of Rhye, thus making my own world based around the one he created in his music. In a way we created this world together. My version is Rhye is the planet of monsters, ogres, and titans, the home of the one and only Monstrous Majesty…and I’m sure he would have loved it.

And speaking of which, I am always touched when people tell me that Freddie would have loved Mangy, obviously I agree (lol)! Silliness aside, I do greatly appreciate it, and it makes me happy to hear, I put a lot of work and love into his character. I’ve said it various times before on my other social media accounts, but he's heavily based around his music and sense of humor.

Freddie is *very* important to me. He is a huge inspiration to me and my artwork, which is already evident enough through the creation of Mangy and Monstrous Majesty as a whole. MM wouldn’t even be a thing without him in the first place. No other artist has impacted me as much as Queen. Every time I listen to Queen, I’m always inspired to add more into the world of Monstrous Majesty. Since 2019 I’ve enjoyed bringing Freddie’s world to life through my art and writing, and I hope I’m doing it justice.

In addition to this gift, prints of this art will be available to purchase soon, and a sales post will be published once everything arrives. 50% of sales will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust to help fight aids worldwide. Keep an eye out if you’re interested in getting one!

This is 1/2 gifts I had planned for Freddie this year. I’ve been working on a physical gift that unfortunately I was not able to finish on time…and I just started school today so that’s definitely going to delay it more, but hopefully I can get it done on my next break!

Happy 77th birthday, Freddie Mercury! Hope you’re having an awesome birthday in Heaven.

As previously mentioned, the new Monstrous Majesty logo featuring Fairy King! With a nicer, cleaner look. Fairy King is Monstrous Majesty’s powerful two-headed pet beast. He started off as a drawing created by Mangy to represent the four members of the organization. Dustbite then brought him to life after having Mangy, Rotger, and Orion have their blood drip onto the paper where he was originally illustrated. Once Fairy King had a physical form, he was a small foam toy that was kept in a water tank until he got too large and started to become sentient…and the rest is history that I can’t reveal just yet. 😼 I’ll be reposting a lot of the previous artwork from this year with the new logo starting Monday. Was excited to finish this artwork of Rotger meeting Roger! I’ve always wanted to draw the members of Queen meeting Monstrous Majesty. Also hooray for the first artwork with the new logo!

What do you think they’re going to be talking about? I’d say purple sneakers and cars.

Trying to do illustrations based around the style I used to draw in back in 2021 until mid 2022 (and of course my current). Loved the simplicity of it, but details are always so fun.

If you have been following me and my project “Regal Rabies” please read.

I know that I don’t have many followers here on Tumblr, however I know that some folks who follow me here are also followers of mine on Instagram and other social medias where I post art.

There is going to be a change in regards to my project known as Regal Rabies.

I’ve been giving it some thought and I am going to be officially changing the title of the project (which also includes the name of the fictional organization).

I’ve been doing a lot of self reflection on not only myself but the project as well in the past few weeks. I don’t want my artwork to continue to mingle with photos and information on diseased and dying animals. It is very upsetting to see sick dogs, raccoons, and other animals when looking up Regal Rabies on here, Facebook, or other places where I'm active online. I don’t want my work to be associated with this at all. It is one of my goals for this project to one day donate a portion of profits to Mercury Phoenix Trust to help the fight against HIV/AIDS. I think it would be in poor taste to have a project with a name associated with disease under this circumstance.

So goodbye to the name Regal Rabies, it has been slain, all hail thou Monstrous Majesty!

Monstrous - Having the ugly or frightening appearance of a monster. (Applies to not only the main characters themselves but the land of Rhye)

Majesty- Royal Power (and do I even need to explain this one?)

I know that the change will take awhile to get used to, since I’ve been using the name to refer to the fictional organization since May of 2021, but it’s for the better. Usually when rabies is referred to in cartoons, it’s usually depicted as an angry, uncontrollable animal which is what I originally was going for, but the more animals I saw, the more unhappy I got. I don’t want any negative connotations for my project or do something that can come off as harmful to real animals and get in the way of information and resources for the disease.

Besides this, the former Regal Rabies which are now proudly called Monstrous Majesty will continue to be the same group of evil, bloodthirsty, goofy monsters that you know and (at least I hope) enjoy.

While Fairy King remains the same in the logo’s main design, I’m pleased with the new wording, I think it captures the dangerous essence of Rhye’s land much better than the previous one did.

I’ll also be working on a new introduction for the project with not only an updated name, but an updated description as well, and I am looking forward to it.

If you have previously purchased any prints and stickers from me with the title, thank you for supporting me along with the project. The name Regal Rabies will still be present on my art files and will be archived as a part of my artistic journey. Some artwork will be edited with the new logo and be reuploaded just to have it up to date and presentable for my portfolio. I hope to eventually order more stickers soon and I’d be more than happy to replace what I originally sent for free.

I don’t want any negative connotations for my project or do something that can come off as hurtful or harmful to animals and information.

Worked on this one for a few days. Man, rendering takes FOREVER. I told myself I wasn’t going to make Mangy any more character sheets for awhile, so instead I decided to make a fully rendered illustration for his current design. I also decided to include the line art version because I liked it just as much. Mercury Mangy is the king of the junkyard. He is a cat monster based on a lykoi cat and werewolf.

This was supposed to be a quick doodle, but of course with my perfectionism it ended up taking way longer. Anyways, it’s about time I drew Mangy and Roger together again since it’s been a good while I did any completed artwork of them. Roger is an alien raccoon now! His alien species resemble raccoon slugs. I came up with a skunk design for him a few nights ago, but honestly I think the raccoon is SO MUCH BETTER for him than a skunk and his original cat design. It also just captures his personality perfectly. I’m very happy with this change, now he and Mangy are rabid trash buddies!

Nice Smelling Flowers For A Not-So-Nice Smelling Feline

2022 version

I’ve been redrawing the same concept for the passed 2 years to commemorate Freddie Mercury’s passing. It has been 31 years since he died from AIDS.

RIP Freddie Mercury Lover of Life , Singer of Songs He is a huge inspiration to me, my artwork, and Mangy’s character. I love him so much. I’m glad he is in a better place now and is no longer suffering.

Two days ago was a very special day for me, Regal Rabies officially turned 4 years old. Mangy was created and introduced to my character family on November 10th of 2018, and exactly a week later I had created and introduced his bandmates. They’ve gone through many changes throughout the years, from designs to even name changes. I’m very happy with how far my boys have come, they’ve been my absolute favorite characters to draw and work with. This passion project has brought me nothing but happiness and joy, especially during difficult times. I was not able to get the artwork done on time for the 17th, but I’ve been working on and off on this artwork for the past few days and I’m glad it is finally complete. LONG LIVE REGAL RABIES.

A big thank you to everyone who stuck around and supported my work for the past four years and possibly over, a thank you for all the new folks who enjoy my work, and I also want to thank the Queen fan community for being so kind and supportive since day one for these guys and of my work in general. It means a lot to me that a lot of you still like and support my work and what Regal Rabies has become. I thank you all.

Practicing my alternative line style for comics. Here are two of my main characters Mercury Mangy and Barbecue Boar, they are husbands. This is 1 out of 3 drawings of them together. This is new battle gear for Mangy! I’m very indecisive when it comes to choosing what outfit to draw him in, so I thought it was a good opportunity to introduce the battle gear.

I know that the collage says Carver, but this head was rehomed to a close friend of mine. His name is Jack O. Lantern now.

He was originally a neopets Lupe but now he’s a werefox! I finished this head back in late December 2021 / early January 2022.
