This blog is multi-fandom, and there are also plenty of posts regarding feminism/sexism, health and other political or social issues.
My fic has historically mostly been about FitzSimmons and LuRe/ATWT, but I am currently focused on other teeny-tiny fandoms. You can also find my fic on my LJ and AO3.
I love how all of the Batman villains are like “ah he’s not at the manor, it’s defenseless! and then alfred just racks an AK-47 and is like pull up bitch
a little obsessed with the story of how giacomo casanova was sharing a gondola with this random guy who suddenly started having a seizure, and casanova had some medical training so he stabilized the guy until the guy’s physician could be called. and then the physician bled the guy and put mercury ointment on him, which caused everything to get worse to the point that a priest was called to administer the guy’s last rites, but then casanova stepped in and washed off the mercury ointment despite the doctor yelling at him not to. and the guy recovered and turned out to be super rich and powerful and in gratitude bankrolled casanova’s debauchery for years until casanova got himself sentenced to five years in jail for blasphemy. also at one point he got shot through the hand in a duel and doctors wanted to amputate it but he said no it’ll be fine and it Was
If you haven’t yet, do yourself the favor of watching Ripley ASAP. Andrew Scott is excellent (understatement) and the cinematography is gorgeous (understatement). Deserves all the awards.
Also prompted me to finally watch Fleabag so I owe it for that as well.
The old school lack of transparency on tumblr is amazing because you assume the people you follow must all be equivalent to you and then you see someone write “I brought my youngest to college today” and someone else write “my mom wouldn’t let me listen to Ariana Grande when I was a kid” and then your head explodes
The naming of female characters in Bond movies makes a lot more sense if you headcanon them as trans women who picked their own slutty names.
Like, can I believe "Pussy Galore" is a cis woman who was named that as a baby? No. But a trans woman who got vaginaplasty and is very proud it of? Of course!
the fact that none of the night at the museum movies were rated over 50% by critics is a reminder that some ppl don’t know how to have fun. the first two movies were flawless. a night watch guard has to babysit museum displays that come to life, complete w old school villains and endless historical crossovers? incredible concept, incredible execution
I could have bought any one of three plausible endings: 1) the traditional fairytale of a poor kid falling in love with a prince and together they modernize the monarchy and use their power and privilege to improve the lives of the people in the kingdom; 2) the realistic ending of them realizing their lives are going to be too difficult as they go down different paths and they break up with love and perhaps ultimately fond regret; and 3) the romantic but, ahem, perhaps short-sighted ending of Wilhelm giving up the throne (there's probably a reason we discourage teenagers from making major decisions that will affect not only the rest of their own lives but also in this case the whole country, especially if that decision is at least partly driven by them being oh so desperately in love with their first boyfriend and will result in a much more questionable person becoming the heir... just saying. Do I think it was the wrong decision? Not necessarily. Do I think it was the right one? Not sure about that either.). Again, I think they could have gone with any one of these and I would have bought it and been fine with it. But that also means I would never have been completely happy with any of them, either. Long live King August, I guess.
I think I'm most happy with the resolution to the Felice and Sara storyline, though.
